Spice Tavern Restaurant & Takeaway in Mole Valley

I was taken to the Spice Tavern yesterday evening by friends. I am disabled and I have an assistant dog. We were refused entrance with my dog and were told we had to leave her in the car and as the temperature outside was 30 degrees, that was not going to happen! Needless to say, we won’t be going there again or recommending it.

These guys were so hospitable and my little one created a right mess. Tried to clean it up as we do wherever we go and they insisted it was okay and they’d do it for us. We enjoyed the buffet where all the food was fresh. They went out of their way to cater for our needs (nut allergy and a vegetarian). Everything looks really clean and modern inside, they clearly take great price in their restaurant. The chicken tikka was delicious

Food was bland, watery and no offer of complimentary drinks. Very dull boring atmosphere and staff weren't friendly.

We had a meal delivered on bank holiday Monday evening. It was superb. The meals are usually good but this time even better. My husband had the Tandori King Prawn meal with extra onions and special rice. I had the Chicken de Gama with mushroom rice. All excellent. We are looking forward to the Elvis night there on Thursday.

Without a doubt the best curry this side of Calcutta. 10/10 Try the king prawn Bhuna with extra onion……

This place used to be called the Raj, it's never been that great but recently the quality has gone up and down. Over the last couple of years the price has gone up and up and the quality has bottomed out. The food is terrible now and the last time we ate there we felt quite ill afterwards. We've given it plenty of chances but won't be going back there again. Over priced rubbish.

Went here last night for my husbands birthday, for the first time. And we loved it, the food was amazing, service really good. Can't wait to come back.

My husband and I called in for a curry last night as in the area. I have to say the meal was one of the nicest we’ve had for a very long time and we love a curry! The staff were very attentive and polite. All round a lovely experience.

Fantastic food for an impromptu birthday take away curry, not quite sure why we needed 20 packets of poppadom sauce and 20 bags of onion / lettuces but it made us laugh. 😂

The restaurant continues to provide excellent service and food. Worth a visit.

Excellent and always consistent

16 of us had a great evening yesterday, They are always good but excelled themselves. Not a single dish wrong or missing and all served at same time., Delicious too as usual

The food was really nice every time we went but we went on a Friday or Saturday night and the service was very slow. But apart from that time very nice people and food

Very disappointed tonight... foods always been excellent .... however tonight food was cold, missing items and was told delivery driver had called on arrival but they didn’t... missing items would be credited to us next time as short on drivers to get it sent out... sorry guys, not good

Quality food and speedy delivery, cannot hesitate to recommend.

10 dined in but had to wait an hour in between courses and order drinks and never got them. seems takeaways get priority as they were flying out the door. when we got our mains got one wrong. average food poor service.

Went there Sat 27th Nov 4of us. We saw 3 waiters 2 ok. But 1 in particular,who we saw most was most anti social. Didn’t know what we asked for kept looking in menu!! When we went to pay we got the bill,before we could read through he snatched it away. & said you get credit card receipt.They don’t give a receipt for the meal drinks etc. most weird. To sum up food average,drinks very dear! & we had to mention the papa dons cooked in old stale oil. As you would guess we won’t be in any hurry to return there!

We regularly order from these guys and they deliver 99.9% of the time! The one time they've failed us is because of a delivery crash, which to be honest I unfairly blamed Andy for. I really love their food, service and manner and would highly recommend as the best curry house in Surrey! Hope your delivery driver is ok Andy.

First time ordering from here and it was really good nice portions lovely food and good service too think this place will do pretty well for itself because most of the indians in dorking are no where near as good as this I had the chicken jaferrzi and it was perfect hot chicken juicy perfect sauce nice texture non greasy lovely poppadoms qa we'll big portion though maybe a little too big 😂 but every bite was delicious 😋

Had over an hour wait on a collection then got told they was out on a dish and just replaced it with another without asking or saying. My mixed dish had 1 bit of chicken 2 bits lamb and 2 prawns. Not impressed but nor was everyone else waiting. Will not be rushing back.

First class curries. We are a fussy family as far as food goes but have discovered Spice Tavern and what a find! Fantastic curries, fish perfectly cooked/not overdone and very welcoming front of house. Highly recommended.

Lovely food. Ordered numerous times from here and everytime the food has been fantastic! Chicken De Gama is my go to meal. Lovely chicken in a gorgeous sauce. The rest of the family have lovely fish dishes and we always finish feeling more than satisfied

First time back here for quite a few years, the previous manger run the place down so we stopped going, New manager, a hands on man who prefers to cook the quality food to his standards, and let his front man deal with the customers in front of house, both very nice people with lots knowledge and advice if you are not sure what to have and want to try something different,enjoyed a lovely meal here, a bit quiet but understandable at moment, the flavours were good, made to our hotness level that we requested, the service was very good, and prices reasonable as same elsewhere, a nice location, I have no issues in recommending it, I can only go by my experience, I will be returning,
