Spice of Llanberis in Gwynedd

Lovely place, friendly staff, wonderful recipes, this is my 2nd time. Definitely recommend to everyone to visit this beautiful restaurant once you are in Llanberis.

We opted for the set meal for 2 .Plenty of fantastic quality food. Plenty left for a takeaway bag back home. Awesome

Just had a fabulous meal in very pleasant surroundings. Staff excellent. I’ve never had so much succulent chicken in a Dopiaza. We will definitely visit again.

Flavour is there but i am quite surprised to pay extra 4 pounds for rice 🍚

We stopped at Spice of Llanberis on our way back home after hiking Snowdon. We were surprised to find a Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant here but were extremely satisfied with the service. The food was delicious, we had saag paneer, tarka daal, sizzling lamb and one of the chicken curries with naan and rice. The meat was fully halal. The staff were extremely friendly and gave us recommendations according to our preference. Will be sure to come back in the future!

Good Bangladeshi/indian cuisine and good service from the owner. One thing to improve is to have desserts on the menu.

Very expensive food very average

With no booking, we managed to get a table for 2, about 10 people already in the place already, nice greeting and friendly staff, made our choices of 4 poppadoms with chutneys, then lemon rice and spiced spinach to go with our lamb Naga and recommendation of the sizzling lamb which I had Madras hot, the poppadoms were the crispiest I have ever had, not a drop of oil on them, the tamarind chutney was awesome.....rice well flavoured, as were the curries, nice warmth to them, finally a proper Naga! The sizzling platter was lovely, tiny smoked chilies, cardamom and cassia through it...top notch, wasn't expecting anything this good at the bottom of Snowdon! Many thanks gentleman....

We booked a table for 6 @7:30 on a Saturday evening, but when we got there it appeared that they had given our table away, along with that of others too. The place was rammed and we had to stand out in the rain for about 3/4 hot waiting for space. Once we were in, however, the food was very good. Staff pleasant but too busy to engage!

Booked a table for 8.30. Finally got one at 10.30. Apparently no veg left so couldn't fulfill the order. No alternative offered, discount etc

We ordered a takeaway which was taken over the fone, we were given a time and the food was ready when we arrived. The dishes were plentiful and very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant, will definitely visit again

We visited on a Tuesday night. Llanberis itself was very quiet, so we were pleasantly surprised to see about 6 people in. It was a bring your own beer, so we popped over to the Spar to get a bottle of wine and some beer. I ordered Chicken Tandoori Biryiani and my wife ordered a Lamb dish. Both dishes were very tasty, and the lamb was tender. The bill was very reasonable because there were no drinks our waiter was also friendly. I would expect this place to be packed in Summer. Recommended.

Fantastic food and great friendly service, highly recommended

Last night, I tried the Tandoori chicken and it was truly amazing! The chicken was incredibly flavorful and tender, cooked to perfection. The accompanying sauce added a delightful kick, complementing the dish beautifully. I can't wait to go back and try their Biryani soon.

Poor quality food . Never had a madras so watery and tasteless in my entire life . Spicy soup springs to mind . Rude waiters . If you live in a big town like Manchester , Leeds etc with decent sorry houses . you will be severely disappointed with this place . Won’t be returning here . Prices are expensive also

Had a lovely meal at Spice in Llanberis. Great food - lots of flavour and excellently cooked. Will def come back next time we are in Llanberis.

A really nice Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant! A hidden Gem! The service was great and the waiter who took our order made sure we picked the dishes that are suited to our taste (not sweet curries, but more spicy) and the food came out exactly how we wanted it. Very delicious. Parking by the lake not far from the restaurant. Bring your own alcohol though, and they don't serve desserts.

Wouldn’t recommend - the curries we ordered were extremely sweet (Korma and tikka masala).. something I have never experienced before in a curry. The sauce was not spiced well at all and the consistency was not good.. very sad in a small town with not many options

This restaurant was surprisingly good. It was an only option for me after climbing Snowden Mountain at 9pm. All of the food was fresh and tasty. Never had such good lamb in any other Indian restaurant.

We ate here last year and had a great meal, we all like Indian food and remarked on how good it was. Perhaps the owner/manager has changed, this time it was disappointing, across 7 meals the standard was ok but nothing special, my Welsh lamb sizzler didn't have much flavour and what meat there was was tender but really fatty. Veg rice was very oily. They no longer have a bar but you can bring your own beer if you want to. Service was ok.

Surprisingly good quality food. I did not expect the food to be as good as it was as it looked like a small and cramped restaurant however, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food as well as the service. Overall a good experience.

May not suit Asian palate preferences. Despite ordering recommended curries from the manager, all dishes curries and biryanis turned out overly sweet with no spice kick. On the upside, service was satisfactory

We had a great time in this restaurant. The staff was really helpful and we had a warm welcome to the restaurant and the best thing is that we waited only less than 10min even for our main course!!!! Would really recommend ❤️❤️

Amazing food and really good value for money. Excellent range of dishes on offer and friendly staff who were very responsive and on hand when we needed anything. This is BYOB so does make the final meal considerably cheaper than most restaurants, but that did not deter from the high-quality food we had.

For £4.30 these 2 measly little meat samosas better have been hand made with meat from the finest animals drinking the cleanest waters from the snowdonia springs.

Great food cooked with quality ingredients and served with a smile. Right on the foot of the Llanberis path where you catch the train. I would highly recommend it if you are visiting the area or residents. Fantastic ingredients cooked fresh to order

We were looking for some recharging goodies after climbing Snowden summit and we ended up going here. The food was very delicious, fair prices and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend 👌

One of my worst veg food experience. I ordered Garlic Naan, it was so thick and uncooked. I also ordered dal tadka and kadhai paneer both were tasteless. And dal was fully meshed while paneer was undercooked. Will not recommend this for veg food.

Got take away, ordered online in advance but no confirmation email to had to call to confirm. Food wasn’t ready when we went in at collection time. Waiting for 10 minutes. Food was fine and we’d eat it again if we were visiting but wouldn’t make a special trip.

What is a better way of spending an evening having run 28 miles across Snowdonia! Good food, great staff in the best restaurant in Llanberis! Just one thing… pop into the Spa shop, almost opposite before arriving for dinner… pick up your tipple of choice… the restaurant does have a licence..

The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Quick Service. Staff was very friendly. The good thing is the the food was Halal too. We highly recommend trying it. We’ll definitely visit again.

Tried this as an alternative to the mostly. traditional UK food available in Llanberis, and we not disappointed. Walked in for an early dinner on a Sunday. We took a bottle of wine from the Spar shop across the street. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Easy to select vegetarian (or vegan) options if needed. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best Indians I’ve ever had, food was amazing and the service was brilliant. Everything was served quickly, hot and tasted fresh, very nice, I totally recommend.

Stopped here for takeout after visiting Mount Snowden. Everything we ordered was so good! It’s all halal. And they do not serve alcohol. The restaurant was kind enough to recommend us food according to our tastes. I got the lamb naga curry, chicken bhuna, mix grill, vegetable pulao, keema naan, chapati, and samosas. The lamb naga was so spicy, just perfect. The chapati was so soft. The vegetable pulao was 10/10. Everything was ready so quick and it was still hot when we arrived at our destination 45 minutes later.

If you're used to Indian food in the Midlands or London don't bother coming here. You will be disappointed. Poppadoms stale, naan undercooked, lamb over cooked... need I say more

Six of us descended on this restaurant at short notice. Despite being very busy we were welcomed and looked after. The food was incredible and service was exemplary. One of the best meals I have had in a long time.

I would give a zero star if I could. We felt like we were discriminated! Looking at the negative comments(mostly from indians) it makes sense that it wasn't in our head but he was actually rude and discriminatory. It took 2.5 hours for us to actually get out off there the slow and rude service just killed the vibe you wouldn't even wanna eat there tasteless food after treated rudely. We were forced to order mains or he wouldn't serve us. The papdom says £0.80 but the bill comes out to £5 and the justification was they charged us for chutney. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!

We had Farhim and the team cater our wedding in snowdonia. The food and service was excellent. Majority of our guests where from Kolkata, India and loved the authentic bangla food provided. Can't rate it any higher thanks everyone

Usually great food, but ordered online and received no confirmation of order; email, text, nothing ... Abandoned order and then received multiple calls and texts about order when it was putatively ready,, 35 mins later! No trouble with food or service normally, but tonight was...

I've been twice so far. Excellent food quality, nice and friendly service. If I have to find a defect: the traditional drinks menu is quite limited. Beside that, very recommended!

Great experience for dinner at Spice of Llanberis; food was great and staff were very accommodating. No alcohol license however it is BYOB which is think is an added bonus. All courses were delicious and I will eat here again on my next Snowdon climb.

Tasteless overtly oily food. Takeaway only. The tandoori chicken was not cooked properly. The tikka were too tough to chew and the curries was as oily as they were under seasoned. Not impressed at all.

If the restaurant is more than half full don't bother. Staff rushed off their feet, food will take forever to come out and the quality is so inconsistent. You'll never get the same tasting curry twice.. Also never got the after mint I've read so much about 😡 😂

This is the first time we have visited this restaurant. It was nice inside with the different lightning. The meal was really nicely spiced. The portion was ample. Will definitely visit again if in Llanberis.

we had a couple days stay in Llanberis and the day we checked into our hotel the restaurant was not open so we decided to look for somewhere to eat on Tripadvisor. We decided come here for a Balti before climbing snowdon the next day....

Great service, set menu for 4 had a great selection of tasty dishes, good value

I thought the food was very good for the price and served quickly. I went with the South Indian Chilli Garlic Chicken with lemon pilau, just spicy enough to make it enjoyable without being overpowering. Overall pleased with the meal, met all the expectations I had.

Food arrived quickly for our group of 12. All great meals and the bring your own alcohol is good! Helpful and friendly staff.

We spent two nights in Llanberis.Really enjoyed our two visits to the Spice with lovely food and friendly staff. Couldn't fault any of the food and taking your own drinks was a real bonus.
