We called in on a Friday night, hungry after a full day riding around the fantastic countryside of North Wales. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were seated upstairs, the air con was running so it was quite cold. We all ordered popadoms, starters and mains. Popadoms were really good, pickle/yoghurt tray was disappointing. I ordered the chicken mo mo, not sure why they named it after that superb East Asian parcel of joy because it was nothing like that, poori bread wrapped around chicken tikka with lots of coriander and cut into three pieces, was ok, nothing to write home about. For main course I ordered tandoori chicken with saag aloo, a poori and tandoori roti. The chicken tandoori was probably the worst I’ve encountered. Normally would be marinated so the spices soak into the meat but the mix appeared to have been poured over the meat afterwards and the chicken was undercooked so I left a fair bit of it. Saag Aloo was overcooked, poori was good but the roti was crispy due to being overcooked. Of the 7 others meals, the consensus was starters ok but mains (apart from two who ordered shashlik) were cold, chewy lamb and fairly average. I’ll be the first to raise my hand to say, when it comes to Indian food, I’m used to eating well, we have an excellent restaurant we use and seldom have we had a bad meal but this was not close to what I would expect as passable. Maybe we caught them on a bad day and I’m being unfair, I won’t be going back. Oh, and the toilet was out of order but they kept wanting to sell us drinks with nowhere to ‘empty’!

We came to celebrate my grandads birthday. Hari, Juwel and the team have been absolutely amazing to my family and myself especially with my 3 year old who was very unsettled and Juwel came over and played with my son. It was very sweet and settled him! Fantastic food and will highly recommend to anyone! Thank you Charlie, John, Steve, Carol and Cybi xx

Staying in the area for a week and had a takeaway which was so good we returned for a second time. Juwel was great and very friendly. We would highly recommend and will be back next time we are in the area.

Every year or so I visit the local heritage railways. Apart from that one of the highlights is visiting Sima. Great staff. Great food and above all friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

Very nice and busy Indian restaurant in the centre of Porthmadog. The menu had more variety than your run of the mill Indian places that you can find all over the UK and as a bonus they have a very nuanced spiciness scale to cater all tastes. I ordered the poppadoms and the selection of sauces was quite good. I ordered the lamb Dilruba (just a bit of heat in this dish) and a cheese naan, both of them flavourful. Although the waiter came across as a bit forceful when taking our order, I fully recommend this locale, best Indian place in the area by far!

On the approach of coming into the restaurant me and my husband were greeted with such warm and kind smiles. We had our first Indian here in Porthmadog. The food was fresh and hot, such a delight indeed! We will be back for the next meal! Great staff guys! Juwel was the top staff who made sure we were taken care of, such fine professionalism and smart attire! Good job and keep up the amazing work!

The staff are very friendly and courteous. The food was hot, tasty and delicious! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Initially great service however as soon as it got busy, we were forgotten about. Waited 20 mins for our bill, lots of agro from other customers which made the atmosphere a bit hostile. Probably a much better experience when visiting on quiet hours but unfortunately they need to work on their management in busy hours.

We came here last minute after being disappointed by another restaurant not catering to a nut allergy. We were welcomed in without a booking and the staff were very thorough ensuring that the meal was suitable for the nut allergy sufferer. The food was beautiful and the service was wonderful. We were recommended by our airbab our to come here. After asking for a recommendation about the menu by the owner, we are given a selection of lovely curries. We be going back there again in the future

We were staying in Beddgelert. Asked the bar maid in the pub where to go for an indian. We were so happy with it. Mountains of really well cooked flavourful food and so reasonable! Will definitely be back next time im there.

The Malays sauce we settled on with lamb for my wife and chicken for myself was absolutely delicious and we will be looking out for that in future it was a very pleasant experience all round. Whilst on a short break just down the road, I ordered a set meal over the phone. They said it would be 25 mins, I was at the shop in about 10 expecting to wait a further 15 mins. To my surprise, my meal arrived with a smile after about 5. There was enough for more than two and it was very good. Not the best Indian I've had but tasty. I finished my left overs for supper the following night. My wife went to the chippy over the road and wishes she hadn't - but that's a different review.

Came in completely spur of the moment whilst on a weekend away for my 30th birthday. Was treated so well by Juwel who was our server as well as the manager - didn’t manage to get his name. Food was AMAZING! Treated to a complimentary amaretto for the special occasion which was nice! Will definitely visit again next time we are in Porthmadog!

Been going to Indian restaurants for over 35+ yrs all over the uk... This restaurant is one of the v best iv ever known... Huge portions,,,grt prices,,,grt staff and not once. In 15 yrs they have got my order wrong... Neil the waiter is excellent,,,all the other waiters r v good aswell... Harry the owner is a lovely kind gentleman aswell,,, always get more than wat u ordered here.. usually free poppadoms n chutney,s on the house,,if not more... brilliant service,,, brilliant foodd n. V good prices... Wat more can i say except v v highly recommended 😋😋😋😋 Brick lane quality food in deep north Wales... Thanks guys I'll c u nxt week... Ps i can get 3 excellent meals by adding a few extra ingredients at home,,,eg spinach,,, potatoes n 45p rice pouch..whole price £12 ish

I visited Porthmadog over the Christmas Weekend and had a lovely dinner at this Restaurant after a long hike. They have various menu options to choose from. The food was delicious and service was quick. Very friendly staff. Would definitely visit again on my next trip to Wales. Highly recommend.
