1st time ordering and have to say it was very nice , onion bhaji were a little hard

I recomed the food from this takeway. The food is authentic and very tasty. It was delivered hot and I speaking as an Indian person.

not impressed, onion bhajis were tiny as well as overcooked or reheated. bombay aloo literally swimming in ghee orange grease. tandoori chicken very dry, special fried rice is just egg fried rice with added rock hard peas. lamb pasanda grossly meat. expensive and not worth the money at all.

Ordered a meal for me and wife took over 2 hours to arrive and rang and said they could not find us said they would look after us next order .....so next order and the food arrived cold and asked for a salad with no tomato yes it had tomato and we're is my other dishes owe he sorted me out £4.00 discount and half the food missing what a bargain never again

However part of the order was missing rang to ask for it - told we had to wait for driver to return to base (fair enough) half hour later food still had not arrived and we had finished our food in that time. So appear to have overpaid as no refund was offered

Very good curry and delivered on time. My vegetable Dansak was particularly good. It was loaded with veg and even had sprouts in it, which I loved!! I have had Dansaks from dozens of take-aways and this was one of the best. My wife's curry had loads of big prawns in it which made her very happy too. All in all, very satisfying. Thank you very much. 100% recommended.

During our England tour we had a family gathering at Worthing. We ordered our dinner from Spice of India. The food was excellent and delivered on time. The food was so delicious it felt like homemade food away from home.

Highly recommended, with the new management the curry is superior and great customer service 👍🏻👍🏻

So disappointed, this use to be the best curry house with such a friendly atmosphere. Phoned for a takeaway as a treat, all straightforward and only 20min delivery! Brilliant. It was absolutely awful! Dishes were full of oil and only half filled. Hardly any meat. The korma was anaemic, with the added benefit of a long hair entangled! I tried phoning many times to ask if maybe there is a new chef in the kitchen… no answer… from only 8:23pm! Wasted money and would never recommend again! Such a shame! Take responsibility!

We used to use Spice of India a lot, but they shut down. When we learned they reopened, we were excited to try them again. Genuinely, the absolute worst Indian takeaway ever. Portions were significantly smaller than anywhere else but worse, the food was incredibly bland - you'd be better off with a Tesco microwave meal. Hygiene is also a factor, given the rather long hair found in one of our meals. We tried to phone to complain but they failed to answer despite multiple attempts - perhaps they knew why the same number that ordered was calling an hour later. We've given them one star because you can't rate any less than that but be advised - every single other Indian takeaway is better than this.

I have used spice of India for a few years now but last night we decided to have a take away, the first in a while and we were far from satisfied. I ordered with a view to collect. They said it would be 30-35 mins. I arrived after more like 45 mins and it was not ready and had to wait a further 10-15 mins. When we got the food home, every dish was only half full and the sauce was very watery. Didn’t enjoy and definitely will not go back again. Such a waste of £47 😠

Until today, we’ve had a reasonable curry from this establishment, but we’ve both had the worst curry ever. We ordered 2 chicken dansaks. 2 pillaw rice, and 1 plain naan. Charged £24.50. We only had their old menu which made me ask the delivery man why it was so much more. He said prices had gone up somewhat on the new menu. So reluctantly paid on arrival. Now I look on their website and it should have only been about £16. The thin disgusting excuse for a dansak was a joke. Never seen such a dish in my 50 years of eating them. Never go back to this place again. Thieves that serve up muck! Avoid!!

To be completely honest, it was probably amongst the 3 worst curries i’ve had in my life. The meat wasn’t cooked properly and was extremely tough. the sauce lacked any real flavour. Thoroughly disappointed. Will probably never return unless severely desperate, although that’s unlikely.

DONT ever use Spice of India in Worthing! Being shouted and screamed at by the owner to return the food that was on my plate because the order was showing as cancelled on Just Eat, even though I showed him I had been charged for it. Literally at my door.. intimidating a woman who was alone. Disgusting behaviour, he didn't even get my order right anyway! If I could give less than 1 star I would

I am NOT a conassouir of Indian cuisine and even I know the food was unacceptable, bland, everything hues of bright red and pink, sorely dissatisfied and disappointed, never ever again! Disgusting to say the least, have taken pictures and hope I can share these somewhere!

Prebooked for the food to arrive at 6 and it arrived at 6 on the dot. Really friendly delivery driver, food was piping hot and decent portion sizes. The food was nice, slightly milder than I'm used to but likely catering to local clientel. Would order again. Luckily I'd ordered before reading the other reviews which seem harsh

I have ordered from spice of India 3 times. The first time the food was great. The second and the third times I spent a long time choosing my curry, the paid for it. I then received a call from a company called New Dragon who represents Spice of India. They told me on both occasions they had run out of everything. I had ordered many different dishes, so this seemed odd. We did order on both occasions close to 9pm, but if you are unable to offer a service please don't offer it and definitely don't take my money. I am now waiting for my refund and I have had to buy another curry from Zeema, which if fantastic. But I am still out of pocket. I won't be ordering from Spice of India again.

Ordered a takeaway over the phone and was informed that it would be 40 minutes. TWO HOURS LATER…phone the restaurant to see where our food was and the phone constantly rang out. Decided to get in my car and drive down to ask where it was and the restaurant was in darkness and shut up for the evening. Didn’t even have the decency to inform us they had to close and our food wouldn’t be coming. A big shame as order from here a lot, but now not impressed at all!

On a positive note, 1st of all make no mistake the food was fab, not enjoyed a curry so much in quite a while! Ample portions, great flavour but deliver time was 1.5 hours so I opted to collect. I was told 30 mins. I got there after 35m and then had to wait a further 20 mins. It was fine, they have plenty of comfortable seating and the tv was on. I had asked roughly how much the cost would be as they weren't taking card payments and obviously wanted to ensure I had enough cash on me. I was given the price but when I'd added up the various items I realised that I had been advised the amount before the 10% discount would be applied for collection. When my food was ready I was told the same amount so I questioned if the discount had been applied and was told it had. I disagreed and, in fact, when I'd added it up I made it 75p more than was told. The girl had my order in front of her and then added the prices, without referring to the menu (?) and cam to a figure about 50p more than I'd made it but I went with it. I gave her cash and she three the change down on the counter and as an afterthought I heard her say "thank you." She clearly has never heard the adage "the customer is always right." I have to say I was not impressed with her customer services skills. When we got home and got the food out of the bag the first two items were two bags of chips. I hadn't ordered chips and I was worried I'd been given the wrong order but the rest was exactly what I had ordered apart from the two chapatis. I assume the chef had misread chaps for chips! Chapatis are £1 each, a portion of chips £2.50 so this is clearly why the cost did not agree. Having said all that, no-one's perfect but my curry was so will definitely use them again but will check the order before I leave the premises.

I'm sad. I've used Spice of India for many yrs however the last month or 2, there has been a decline in food & service. Watery tikka massala, late service and overcharging plus poor attention to the front of house cleanliness to name a few things. Tonight they 'forgot' to put naan breads in the bag and we had to return to the shop. We will not be going again.

First time a bit of a let down as always lovely flavour but the lamb was very tough almost inedible normally spot on

Having ordered my food at 6:30pm today, my order never came. Spoke with the receptionist who told me they had lost my order and offered me to wait an additional 30 minutes. I declined. No sincere apology offered and terrible phone manner and customer service, made me feel like I was wasting her time! So unreliable.

ordered our first takeaway from here tonight and I cannot fault it, we had a chicken dansak, chicken pathia, lamb vindaloo, chicken jalfrezi, keema rice, bhajis and garlic naan beautiful flavours the sides were spot on, if I had to say one suggestion it would be offer a bottle of free drink when you spend a certain amount, we could have done with some fizzy 👍 we will definitely be using again, brilliant food, excellent price, highly recommend.

Food arrived over cooked and flavour was terrible we order about 4 times a month however tonight's food was terrible. Never again another delivery company down the pan. Why can these places not be consistent. Over cooked chicken chart. Terrble sauces. Only the rice was eatable the rest is in the bin

Bland, dry chicken madras. Eating cardboard with a dash of lea and perrings would be preferable.

Really impressed. I'm dairy free so struggle with takeaways. The lady was very helpful in explaining the different curries and what could be made dairy free for me. She went and checked items and made suggestions. Curry was delish, chicken moist, loads of flavour. Will definitely be going back there again.

Really bad ordered a delivery was told 30 minutes 1hour and 30 mins later it still hadnt arrived was offered 1 pound back.then he was angry down the phone to my wife.finally arrived and I got 5 pound back.shame really we go quite often and the food is really good juat shame about the service of delivery

I can't say anything bad about this place but I can't say anything good either...I've ordered through hungry house a few times from there and tried a few dishes and they all seem to lack one thing.....flavour. I suppose a positive to be drawn from this is the food isn't full of salt. but it's just really plain and boring. the chicken tikka for example just tastes like plain chicken. I wouldn't put anyone off ordering from there but at the same time I wouldn't recommend the place. food was delivered quickly and hot.

Been a regular here for 3 years never gone elsewhere.

We have been regular customers of the Spice of India for awhile, have always had delicious food and excellent service. This evening we thought they went that extra mile. In November my husband suffered heart failure with a heart attack and due to dietary restrictions we thought takeaways would be no more.. Not so.....asked for advice before we considered ordering. Brilliant...... A chicken curry prepared, container clearly marked no oil, no butter and no salt. Advised us to have plain rice and plain naan bread. My husband said the meal was delicious. Thank you Spice of India.

Spice of India offer a good menu with variations on some dishes and are happy to meet requests where possible. The 'meal deals' are brilliant value for money and deliveries always arrive fresh and hot.

Pensamos que le spice de la India se ve ya que parecía muy buena relación calidad-precio para la familia para comer. tres comidas, dos lados, entrante y bebida por £20. . No es demasiado viejo. Quedé muy impresionado con la calidad y el pan Naan fue uno de los mejores que he comido. Gran descubrimiento y volveremos.

Was really hungry, so i thought why not try a curry . It was my mistake. the food taste like rubber + it was cold. The driver seemed lost. my advice is dont waste your money.

Had leaflet from this takeaway pushed through our letterbox so decided to give it a try! Nice comfortable seating area with clean floor, counter and decent sized television. Poppodoms cooked to perfection, really crispy and not greasy at all, complementary pot of riata dip and bag of chopped salad. Not too expensive for most of the classic things on the menu, chefs specials a bit dearer. Very friendly staff. Handy parking bay right opposite. Excellent!

We have been here twice now and found the food to be very good on both occasions. All dishes were well cooked, appropriately spiced and not at all "oily" like some we have had in Worthing. Also excellent value for moey - and they don't force you to have a "free" rice with every dish. Service has always been pleasant as well.

Amazing take away- u must try it. Reasonable in price, generous in amount. Very tasty and will always recommend.
