Spice Lounge Express in Ribble Valley

The Spice Lounge express on Whalley Road Clitheroe is a very good Indian takeaway. They have a great choice on the menu from Appetites, Starters, Seafood Starters, Meat & Poultry Starters, Vegetable Starters also Shashlik Dishes, Tandoori Dishes, people's Favourite Dishes, Biryani Dishes and special Signature Dishes. The choice goes on and on, something for everyone. Enjoy.

What I bought was good value, but on top was given a few freebies, so very good value then. Parking on street or on public car park alongside. Friendly Service, full Asian Menu, reasonable food. Closed Tuesday open evenings only. Free delivery within 3 miles if you spend £12 or more.

I ordered a vegetarian biriani and asked for a dansak sauce with it. It's honestly the first time I have been unable to eat something I've ordered. It had the most awful taste with it - like it had been cooked in really dirty oil. The curry sauce bore no resemblance to a dansak at all, and was truly inedible. I struggle as it is with being veggie so a biriani is usually a winner, sadly it went in the bin. Waited an hour for it as well.

Paid a visit on Saturday night and had a very good curry. I told them what I normally like and asked them to recommend something different, my wife did the same. The dishes that we were served with were both excellent; very tasty and decent portion sizes too. Makes a good addition to the Clitheroe takeaway options.

I've finally found a fantastic indian takeaway in Clitheroe that's reasonably priced. I've had approx half a dozen takeaways and they arrive in good time, lovely staff and the food is just superb....every single time. I have to hold myself back from ordering more often as they are SO good. I thought i'd write a review as i want them to be a success and stay around for a long time to come. My partner isn't on trip advisor but he loves their curries too.....he orders hotter dishes than me. I can recommend the chicken bhuna.

We decided to give Spice Lounge the benefit of the doubt. The first time we picked up our order and the food was okay, nothing special. We didn't wait long and found it reasonably priced. The second time we ordered online from their website. The ETA was 6.45pm but the food didn't arrive till 7.15pm which we didn't really mind. However the food was freezing cold and we had to re-heat it. We spent £25 and didn't receive any free popadoms. I don't think we will rush back as there are far better Indians in Clitheroe.

Over the years I must have eaten many curries, so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. I ordered the Chicken Lounge Special which is described as "diced marinated" chicken. For some reason the meat had been sliced into thin batons and was a bit chewy as though it had been pre-cooked. The meat was also very grainy in texture, much like turkey! I couldn't face eating this strange meat, so the curry ended up in the bin. It's a poor do when the meat can't be identified! I have never been so disappointed with a takeaway curry and will definitely not return.

Teníamos una llevar la primera semana que abrió y estaba muy satisfecho con ella.Mi nieto y yo comimos pollo tikka y pilau arroz. Mezclado de arranque, para empezar.Pedí 2 y tiene 6 popadums crujientes que mi nieto me encantó. Ensaladas y salsas para acompañar los curries.El pollo era tierna y llena de sabor.Muy limpio y agradable, el hombre lo llevó a el coche para mí con un puñado de lollipops.Desde entonces hemos tenido un pedido entregado, que de nuevo era delicioso.Este será nuestro local Tome Indian lejos de ahora en adelante.Buena suerte.
