Spice Lounge in Redcar and Cleveland

Absolutely don’t order from this place, terrible quality of service and very aggressive when trying to resolve an order issue, don’t even bother! Showed no attempt to resolve the issue, explained the situation transparently and received nothing but rude condescending aggression back. Could have sorted the issue out amicably but no interest was taken in that.

Owner is rude my partner payd by card an it has gone threw but because it didn't show up on there end they kept coming back to the door the owner was also bean rude an aggressive on the phone

Ordered at 7.15said delivery would be 8.00 then got an email said it would be 15 mins late then got a phone call saying it didn't have half my order and it would be another 45 mins I therefore cancelled my order

Ordered at 7*15 EST delivery 8'10 at 8.00 got email saying it was going to be 15 mins late at 830 got a phone call saying half my order wasn't available at that the other half of my order would be another hour needless to say I cancelled so can't comment on the food as it never got here won't be ordering from this place ever again

I ordered the chicken tikka starter. Absolutely delicious. The delivery was quick, maybe half an hour, the delivery driver was friendly and polite and the price was well worth

Absolutely appalling service and food. We ordered off UberEats and waited an hour and a half, the address was placed with additional instructions however I’m using a foreign phone number and were unable to place a number on the app. We were told they were nearly at the house so we waited for 35 minutes in the cold. We additionally called inquiring where it was and asking if they had our address correct as we’d worried they might not have got the instructions. When we called after 30 minutes the employee/owner yelled at us, called me stupid for not placing a phone number even though we had been in view of the driver with the instructions to accompany. The food was extremely sweet and cold. Indian more like straight into the BINdian

Called them , they said rice will be 10/15 mins , we explained the rest will be cold, call the driver to come back and deliver a fresh order. The man on the phone then says 10/15 mins, so again we mention the curry's will be cold only to be told ro put them in a microwave which obvs fulled Sean's anger, they then told us to get a refund from Just eat. Suppose to be garlic nan, they where plain, onions bhaji where rank and no taste to my curry. Here's hoping the £38 will be refunded.

Very hot and spicy delicious food. We ordered munch box. Lamb Karahi was great. A good portion and fresh food. We visited from Middlesbrough and willing to order again.

Awful overpriced no effort at all chicken was as tough as a steak! and dry as liver ! spent £40 quid tikka masala and korma rice and the garlic naan was plain and tasted equally terrible would not recommend at all stay clear !!!!

Wow tried the 2nd time as 1st time was amazing and thought it was a one off. 2nd time even better . Keema curry best I have had and we also was the chicken bhuna delicious. No other Indian can compete. Been disappointed with coriander but spice lounge are supreme

Ordered a mix grill and some chips mix grill was like mix meat curry thank god they know how to cook chips otherwise have to sleep without any food never back again guys thanks for ur good service

My daughter ordered us both a veggie curry I don’t know what it was?? Very hot could not identify the veg so small after a couple of mouth fulls give up it was revolting a waste of £20, never again 😡🥵

Ordered a veggie korma to feed a literal vegetarian… what arrived was a chicken korma! Total waste of money! The rest of the food was left with nothing to eat it with. Plain rice, naan and chips… if you’re a vegetarian don’t go here

I ordered tandoori chicken. It was a nice portion and perfectly cooked and flawless..... Their sauces also had a unique taste .. overall it was an amazing experience

Always order from here & never had a problem untill tonight made a £30 order half was missing contacted spice longe all they were offering was a freebe on our next order when I asked to be refunded for what was missing they put the phone down on me I'm assuming the manager rang me back and was pleading not to put a bad review even though he would not refund me for the missing items when I refused he also hung up people stay away from spice lounge their happy to take your money but won't refund when there's missing food and still charge you for it

Samosas and salad/dips were good- cant go that wrong with a tub of salad and dips though. However, both sets of pakoras tasted like they had been cooked before and reheated before being sent out, the batter wasnt crispy and the chicken was dried up. Tasted awful- Never again- certainly wouldn't reccomend

Spent £27 via Just Eat and arrived on time (just) but missing poppadum, salad & mint sauce - no biggie but paid for so rang Spice Lounge5 mins after delivery. Long story short: 1. Started off amicable. 2. Admitted error & offered missed items + starter 1 next time I ordered. 2. Requested refund instead - denied. 3. Requested missing items to be delivered next day (was late & could use with leftovers next day) - agreed if I paid additional £3 delivery charge! 4. Over 7 minutes of phone call & no resolution - pitiful customer service - YES James (delivery driver - whoever), I did eventually swear at you which shows how angry I got with your feeble responses & gave you the excuse to hang up on me. 5. Couldn't really give too much of a s**t for the sake of a couple of quid - it's the principle. ps. James, I record my calls so please don't try to twist our conversation!

First time i have ordered from here and not impressed. We ordered chicken kebabs meat was dry and tasteless. No garlic sauce. I couldn't believe that. Won't be ordering again

Fantastic place for takeaways. Would definitely recommend. Think there should be more Southern Fried Chicken meals though as this seems to be the only place around here that serve chicken.

Rogan josh was lovely. Chicken tough in Korma but overall food was tasty and plenty of it. Missing a naan bread so rang up and was promised it within 25 mins. Still waiting 1hr 25 mins later. Won't be returning due to lack of customer service and we'd paid for it!!

After trying all of the curry houses in my town (Redcar) and coming to the conclusion that not one of them can pull off a top notch dish then I found myself traveling to the Boro for a good curry until I was told spice lounge in Eston would deliver to my home address for a small fee of £2, I have tried 2 dishes from here and I am working through there menu as i am highly delighted with both the quality of the food and the speedy service that I have recieved , the food was hot and very tasty, I would certainly recommend this curry house to anyone seeking a decent dish especially if you would sooner dine in, well done guys and I'm looking forward to ordering my next dish 👌👏✌...To be continued😁

Food always good but it's already 1.5 hrs and still not here if it's cold it's going back...

Ordered over 30 pound of food including a peshori (coconut sultanas and pineapple) naan, butter chapati and paratha ended up with three chapatis. Delivery had no change so I was forced too walk to the local shop to get change for the delivery

Got my delivery totally wrong cheaper breads substituted for what I ordered when I phoned up to complain I was told it was an honest mistake no apology was made or refund.

After sales is disgusting. For the 2nd time left part of my order behind. After calling to ask were the rest of my order was, I was put on hold whilst taking another order (could here everything) after 5mins came back on phone stating the rest of order will be with me in 20minutes! Clearly no good to me and clearly can see were they loyalties lie! Ok charging me for full order! Had several bad experiences. Not happy will be going elsewhere!!!

Always receive texts with offers on, this time it was a free tandoori chicken starter with orders over £12. Spent £20 and received ONE stingy piece of chicken which should NOT be classed as a starter. I would advise anyone not to take any notice off their offers as they are a waste of time, will not be going back.

Lived here 5yrs...had a horrible one from here with my daughter about 3yrs ago...decided tonight that maybe that was a one off...ordered a lamb pasanda...like glue...absolutely disgusting...very annoyed..couldnt eat it. I rang up to ask for my money back...they said they would if I packed it all up..half an hour...after 1hr 15mins rang them back and driver finally came back with my money!!! NEVER ever again...vile!!!

Sent the wrong food. Called them for them to dismiss me and hang up. Recalled them for them to tell me to contact just eat As its not their problem even though they made and ent it. Called just eat who rang them and same thing said. Im 20 pounds out of pocket, disgusting food in the bin and will now be taking this matter further on Monday. Lack of customer service and hanging up on me will cost them now.

Absolutely love this place. Curry is always cooked to perfection every time I order. The naan breads are so fresh they just compliment the main dish.

Very simple really... there are lots of Asian restaurants in and around Middlesbrough, so use one of the others and not this one. I ordered Tandoori Lamb chops, Tandoori Chicken and a mixed grill. All of which were the worst I've ever tasted in my life. Complete dried up rubbish!

What a waste of 15 pound food was here in less then 20 mins surely not cooked mix kebab looked rotten warmed up in microwave an sent out curry was tasteless had better curries out of Asda! Placed order for £21. Been a customer for 7/8 years with the odd wrong / late order but in the last two years it has become worse . Tonight was the icing on the cake . Poppa doms came minus 1 and were all smashed . Called and complained and was told 3 would. Be delivered in 5 mins . 20 mins later we called and were told another 5 mins . Called after 5mins and I spoke to a rude child (male) who said it has left the shop . I also asked of the korma had changed as it was very bland and watery , I was told " I can't comment it's the same chef we've had for 15 years (with attitude) . I then advised them that after waiting over 20 mins to rectify the order if it wasn't corrected after 5 mins we will have a refund of popadoms and dips . The kid couldn't understand this and hung up ! Height of rudness and they have now lost a long term client and subsequently bad press from me !!!!!!!!!!

Had several meal from here and over the last 6 months or so it's gone down hill. The portions are smaller and the last time we spent £26 on a meal that smelt off I phoned them to come and collect it and when they did they told me it was fine but we could not have a refund even though we had not eaten it it's the second poor meal I've had from here and I won't order from here again. I had a takeaway from here tonight! It came 25 minutes late and was horrible! Chicken tikka masala tasted like water and the pilau rice was hard (looked like a block of cheese). After waiting 1h30 for a meal that was not nice and cold, I do not recommend it!

We have used Spice Lounge a number of times for our takeaway but have never eaten in the restaurant, therefore I can only review the food and takeaway delivery service. First of all the food that we have ordered sonfar has been excellent. We have used a number of Indian takeaways before settling on Spice Lounge. My wife enjoys the milder curries and and while she finds the korma a little sweet for her liking she has enjoyed many of their other mild curries. She will usually have a prawn curry and tells me that they are plentiful and always tasty. I will choose any of the medium strength dishes and have never had a bad one from here yet. Nan breads are always nice (not had a soggy one from here) and are a good size. As for service, we buy through Just Eat and our food always arrives quickly and piping hot. However they did deliver a slightly different dish for my wife once but it wasn't really worth contacting them over and was still enjoyed. Last night we ordered our meal as usual on Just Eat and it turned up quickly, just as normal. However as my wife was dishing out my mushroom pilau rice was missing. A quick call to the restaurant and within 10 minutes it was delivered, so nocomplaints there. Mistakes can sometimes happen and when there quickly rectified that's all good to me. So if you want a good Indian takeaway in the Eston area, then I would recommend but can't comment on their "sit in" service.

I would not recommend anybody to eat there never ever!The staff is so so rude it unbelievable and the food takes ages to come and not worth the wait def a place to avoid!The food came cold, the meat was not cooked well enough the curry was so blend its like eating soap yuk!!! And the bread was so saggy just looking at it cuts your appetite ewwwwwwww! I saw some guy with an apron coming out of the kitchen picking his nose and running his hands through his hair jeeeeezzzzzz makes you think what happens to the food that I can't see if this is what I could see!DON'T EAT there unless you want food poisonning or who knows what!!!
