food was delicious as always. but said it was delivered 10mins before it arrived so I had to send a message to the restaurant. We ordered for 6.35pm and it arrived at 5 past 7

Hopefully this is a one off as always order from Light if Asia and been top notch. Quick delivery which was good. The Malayan chicken was rubbery, chips were limited and the 3 sauces that came with the poppadoms were put ontop of the food instead of down the side like normal. One of the tubs had opened and covered the majority of the packaging of the food which was disappointing. My wife said if this was the first time we ordered from here we wouldnt again but hopefully was just an off night

Having come to Redcar for the first time it was difficult to know where to go for a good meal. We like Chinese and Indian food specifically so looked for these restaurants. We decided on Indian food and looked for good reviews on trust pilot. We decided on Bengal spice as it seemed to have the best reviews, but on booking were put off completely by them accepting only cash payments (very dubious!) So we decided , due to hunger hitting home, to try light of Asia......and believe me, we were so glad we did!. From the moment we stepped in the welcome was excellent and having then sat down so was the service. Looking at the menu it gave an excellent choice of foods (and some i hadn't heard of and i have been to a huge amount of Indian restaurants in my time) and all seemed extremely reasonable in price which seemed a refreshing change! Having ordered our meals they all came hot and you could tell freshly cooked (hot as in temperature not spice) and all had superb tastes . Seriously, if you want a fantastic meal with extremely generous portions and a budget to help your pocket this is surely the place for you to visit if you want that definite experience of true Indian/Asian food. My wife and i will most definitely be visiting again when we go to Redcar again .....without doubt. Peter And Susan Whitefoot

Had a really excellent meal here, including a veggie balti and saag alloo. Did not expect to find such good Indian food in Redcar! Very delicious and extremely reasonably priced, with great service.

The tikka Marsala is in ketchup. By far the worst Indian food I have ever had. Rice was dry, naan was chewy…. Seriously idk how this place stayed in business. Zero curry…. Just sugar…. Straight sugar! Horrible…and it’s rare I leave a horrible review like this. I was looking forward to having good Indian food tonight but😢

This place is always superb , sometimes the food may take a bit longer to prepare in busier times but stay with it as the quality and quantity are absolute superb and the staff are very helpful and friendly - just love this place been coming here for years now.

I had mixed tandoori grill, the shish kebab was dry as if it has been over heated in microwave. I ordered saag ghost, tarka dhall for my main and my daughter ordered chicken tikka. The lamb was very chewy and the dish was warm, the dhal was too watery and had no taste. My daughter couldn't eat the chicken tikka as it so hard again as if it has been over heated in microwave. When I told the owner about the meal he was not happy. He told one of his staff "This is what you get when you deal with Asian" On a Friday night there was only 2 customers, food was not nice at all. I will not be wasting my money there again. The 2 member of staff was nice.

Didn’t have any lamb left but phoned to offer alternative. When plated always get puddle of water at the bottom of each plate. Very good taste, Good service thank you

Best ever food my new favourite

Always used L O A when i lived in Redcar used to be excellent , but this was shocking. The rice was in lumps , the naan bread was thin and flat looked like it had been warmed up and the meat was fatty. The bin enjoyed it ! Sorry LOA that was really bad

Very fast delivery, very poor quality. the worst chicken tikka masala I've ever bought from an indian, considering its bright colour and thick consistency it was incredibly bland. chicken dopiaza tested watery despite all the oil. garlic naan had barely any garlic on. mushroom pilau was average. I'd guess that the chips had been reheated at least twice. it's a Monday night, i might have been more forgiving if it was the weekend and busy. waste of nearly £40 and i won't be using them again.

Was expecting the food to take longer from previous orders but the order came really quick, food was pipping hot and tasted delicious. Great experience overall!

Starters and tikka masala nice, really disappointed in the garlic chilli chicken balti, was nothing like a balti, was really red sauce, sweetish and tasted awful,. Ate the chicken, binned the rest.

order took nearly 2hrs to arrive so told 45 mins!!

Very late and lied.to by the lad on the phone saying going out the door then phoned me.to say couldnt do one of the dishes spoke to the manager and offered free stuff which i didn't want not happy don't take the order if can't do it on time and also do what people have asked for not something else.

Lots of delicious spice, exactly what I would have expected from an Indian restaurant. Generous portions and good prices and it was so refreshing to order prawns and get big juicy prawns!

It's the only Indian takeaway I've gone to and I've been going for years and I always get the same curry. This time it wasn't like it usually is, they must of changed hands or changed the chef. I won't be going again.

Food frozen cold when delivered last night after waiting an hour for delivery

really bad last nite 17.00 wasted all went in bin.nann bread hadn't seen an oven chips soggy tasted of Cury which my daughter don't like.the curry was just full of tomatoes n onions awful.hate wasting money

Thought we would try again, food was on time and hot, but the lamb rogan gosh was tasteless and watery just not nice at all, the mrs said hers was just ok, being close to 40notes you exspect your food to be more than just alright, shame as this use to be our go to indian takeaway. this will be our last order.. thx

Ordered Set Meal for two. Restaurant was happy to change lamb choice to chicken. Food was delicious. Very generous portions. Highly recommended

Initial order time was given as 45 mins. Food came 1:45 mins later! Tried calling to find out where the order was, but no answer. Driver claimed he had only just collected the food, yet when it arrived it was just about warm. Had to warm it all up ourselves, which is a shame as the food itself was tasty.

Lovely interior design and friendly staff. Not a lot to offer on the wine front but we had fun. They adapted curry sauces for vegetarian versions and the mushroom pilau rice was delicious. The lamb and chicken saag dishes went down a treat. English options available for non curry eaters. The poppadoms and pickles are must along with the brilliant nan breads.

The food was late enough that my wife - who wanted it - has gone to bed. Not been eaten, will possibly be eaten tomorrow, possibly binned.

Food was really nice, I had the jal jhal chicken which is quite hot and was delicious. Service was great. We went on a Wednesday night so not overly busy, just nice busy. Coming from Leeds this place is cheap, I would have had to pay double in Leeds. I can't stress how nice the food was.

Amazing food as always and an Onion Bhaji + Mango Chutney combo to die for.

Asha Acari beautifully complimented with the roti and chips. Shame the roti was cold and chips overly greasy. Vegetable samosas were really good.

Ordered 2 x pathia/pilau rice/cheese garlic naan/keema garlic naan...cheese naan like there was no cheese, pilau was dry, pathias were like someone tipped too much chilli in, keema naan wasn't too bad. Won't be ordering indian takeaway again. I can make better myself at home 😒

Years ago I didn't enjoy this place however I gave it another chance and I am so happy I did! Meat was amazing flavours were amazing would definitely recommend and will be returning

Why was there no one in on a Saturday Night ? My wife and I visited here on the 15th of July and there was just one other couple in. First impressions was oh dear we've picked the wrong one tonight, but how wrong could we be. The food was plentiful, fresh, hot and tasty very tasty, in fact it was one of the best Indian meals we have had and trust me we have had some blinders. The prices seemed very very reasonable in fact more like takeaway prices, 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 Rice, 1 Chips, 1 Nan and 2 pints of Cobra for less than £35 come on you have to admit that takes some beating.

Food half hour late and cold won’t be ordering again

We have used this venue many times before, that it is why we returned. Tonight's food was flavourless and watery and in no way represented what we expected. After many years of dinning in house and using the takeaway delivery service, we will not be using the Light of Asia again such is the level of our disappointment.

Took advantage of the "6 courses for £12.95" weekday offer. No complaints on the food or service, but the toilets are GRIM!

Nan breads tasted sour which is very off putting as they were meant to be sweet. Onions in the shashlic were undercooked so inedible. Not worth the money, will not use again.

Everything was delivery early, and it was boiling hot. Meal deal for 2 was plentiful, and very tasty. All items tasted freshly made. Would 100% order again.

I've been looking forward to my curry all day and as always i was not disappointed. Food quality was to its usual high standard, and i was particularly impressed by the fact my food arrived earlier than its estimated delivery time ☺️ well done light of asia. Keep up the great work.

Over an hour late past the already long delivery time of 1 hour 30 minutes. Food was cold and bland. Madras was watery and not spicy. Tried to call the restaurant but no answer. No apology given. Terrible service received. Naan bread was soggy. Would never order from here again!!

Ordered at 7:40 and was delivered 3 hours late,I rang at 9:51 and was told my food was on its way and it arrived an hour after I spoke on the phone. Food arrived freezing and was totally disappointed

Popped in here on our horseracing tour. Had a lamb chilli masala which was spot on. Mate had a mixed tikka platter which was well cooked and a good size portion. Would recommend 👌

1st time here, really nice food and great value on the happy hour. More than enough so took some home. Good service and pleasant staff. Would recommend.

Used to use this place long time ago now I guess it is in New hands but in my experience of this place the food was very bland with not a great deal of lamb chunks and not a lot of seasoning and the keema garlic naan was slightly undercooked although parts of one side were it had been in the tandoori oven was slightly burned so all in all I will not use them again which is a shame as not many Indian takeaways in this area

I came here 11 months ago was rotten would never of come again but after seeing people coming again I thought I'd try again it still was 1.30mins wait but ya don't mind when good food tonight it actually was good food evan put it in the fridge for tommrow

I stupidly ignored the negative reviews and ordered the chicken korma, chips and the pakoras. The korma was luminous (I actually think it would’ve glowed in the dark!) and the chicken watery and pink. The chips I would not feed to an animal, they looked days old and were covered in grease. The pakoras were like balls of grease and tasteless. Absolute waste of money as it went in the bin, will never order from here again.

Got the impression this week's order was cooked by a different chef. Medium dishes much hotter than previously 🔥🌶️ Quality was still excellent though.
