Food was OK. Chicken Shashlik & Rice & Naan & Poppadoms & Alo Boonda were all nice. Sauce in Masala was very red/pink! Sauce in Shaktora Lamb dish was delicious but Lamb was very tough & grisly, sadly. The biggest disappointment of all was the multitude of plastic containers!!! Only the Naan & the Poppadoms escaped the plastic containers. We live a bit too far away to simply bring it back for re-use, and I’m not sure - I wasn’t told and I haven’t read - whether SLK wants its customers to bring back the plastic cartons??? It’s all Tupperware type cartons for the Starters & Mains & Rice, and I’m not sure whether that type of plastic is Recyclable either. What’s wrong with Aluminium Foil takeaway containers & cardboard lids? A few improvements and environmentally-friendly packaging and I’d go again.

3rd time I've used them. Never again. They changed my order without telling me. Probably deliberately because it was easier. Plus what turned up was awful. Like I said never again.

Curry was delicious but I was glutened. Do not eat here if you are a coeliac. I called up and they said they knew about cross contamination and had marked items on the menu as GF, we even put a note to say which items were mine but within half an hour I had a reaction and today us my birthday and I'm lying in bed eating rice cakes trying to keep something inside me. I would reccomend if you don't have to worry about this sort of thing, but do NOT eat here if you are coeliac.

First of all. Why no other reviews??? Spice Lodge Kitchen does what you want - tasty food, available or delivered punctually at a decent price. Recommended.

We tried SLK for the first time earlier this month. Tandoori and starters were particularly tasty. Ordering was straightforward, and staff seem to be customer-focussed. Will definitely use this place again.

Outstanding Service from Graham, But Disgraceful Kitchen Behavior from Alex! We had the pleasure of being served by Graham, and I cannot praise him enough. From start to finish, he was amazing—attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. He made sure we were well looked after, checked in regularly, and provided excellent service with a great attitude. He is truly an asset to the team, and if it weren’t for him, this visit would have been a total disaster. Unfortunately, the kitchen experience was a complete disgrace, mainly due to the so-called chef, Alex. He was shouting so loudly that both customers and staff could hear him, creating an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere. What shocked us the most was overhearing him say, “I’m sorry, it’s not my fault they’re fat and hungry.” This kind of disrespect towards paying customers is beyond unacceptable. On top of that, he was shouting at the staff and arguing when we pointed out that our burgers were raw. Cooking a burger properly is basic kitchen practice, yet somehow, this seemed beyond him. Instead of fixing the issue, he became defensive and dismissive. To make matters worse, kitchen hygiene standards were clearly being ignored. We noticed that chefs with beards were not wearing beard nets, which is a basic food safety requirement. This is not only unprofessional but also unhygienic. While Graham’s service was 10/10, the kitchen staff—especially Alex—were the complete opposite. We will be sending a formal complaint to head office because no customer should have to experience rudeness, poor hygiene, and undercooked food in what is supposed to be a welcoming dining environment. Management seriously needs to address these issues before it ruins the restaurant’s reputation.
