Spice Inn in Tameside

Went here for the very first time with my family and I really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is very clean and spacious plus the decor was done out very well. I met the owner Aky and he was a very pleasant man. I had a mixed starter which I really enjoyed followed by a lamb madras which you can see in the pictures. The reason I went in this restaurant was because my daughter moved to the area about 12 months ago so that how I was told about it and without that I wouldn’t have known about this place. It’s not the cheapest of Indian restaurants so I would go again but only for a special occasion. I hopefully would like to go again but when not sure. They also do a loyalty card where you can get a free starter or main meal so not bad. If you want to know anything about this review please contact me

A great restaurant serving wonderful food . Shout out to Aki who served us, nothing was to much trouble. He was kind, attentive, and professional. I would definitely reccommend this restaurant

I would not normally post poor reviews as I believe that I try to ensure local businesses are given a good opportunity to thrive! However after our latest visit its difficult to refer people to nothing but over priced poor quality! We had 1 starter with mostly salad! Not that people don't like salad but a full onion, 2 grey sirloin steaks that are as expensive as miller and carter! And to make everyone who would say its a curry house I know, it doesn't mean you don't cook steak, and also we had chicken tilka as well!!! The biggest issue is the prices and over charging! 4 soda waters from draft = £ 8 and 1 bottle of Coke £2.20 20p more than soda! So not only is a bottle of coke expensive but soda is cheaper on the grovsnor! It's a shame! but I would never visit or order again! Also we were even over charged for additional drinks that we did not order and when we raised this the waiter smirked as they even realised this was the case. Never again

Lovely curry but lacks the amount of chicken. Unfortunately this has put me off using spice inn again.

First time out for a meal since Covid with pur parents. Safe and clean and not crowded felt comfortable Staff excellent very friendly and helpful. Food was beautiful, fresh and tasty. Set menu was excellent for these wanting a full course meal. My husband ordered a curry and they made a different curry by mistake but served him both at no extra cost and were very apologetic. We will be coming back thank you.

We live in Haughton Green and have visited the Spice Inn several times since it first opened . If anyone went here in the early days and just found it ok, give it another go ! It has changed hands at least once since it first opened. The latest owner is very friendly and accommodating and their chef is amazing. My lamb shank (can't remember the name of the dish) was to die for. Even if you don't live in Haughton Green it is worth venturing off the beaten track.

had a family meal out for 5 recently here, very friendly staff and food very good, we had mild and hot curries washed down with cobra lager. we all enjoyed the meal and evening have already returned again since.

The staff are fantastic and the food was glorious! We will be spending many more evenings in the Spice Inn. Every member of staff made us feel extremely welcome, and they even presented my daughter with a birthday present at the end of the night. Seven of us ate. The price was extremely fair and the food was perfect. Not one complaint from anyone. Looking forward to the monthly Live music nights!

arrived at spice inn was looking forward to trying the place again sadly will not return, we ordered food & drinks starters was excellent, main meals arrived ordered garlic nan bread recieved plain nan, onion rice was like rice pudding very sloppy, bhune curry was very spicy asked the waiter about it told me i should of asked for a mild bhune ( never heard of it) had to order drinks twice as they forgot to bring them. then asked for the bill when the young lad brought the bill over he stood waiting for the payment ( £50) my husband put the money on the plate to which the waiter asked " do you want your change" OMG how rude is that! we got up & left sadly since its been taken over it is not the same place to eat

We visit regularly. The food is amazing and the price is incredible for the quality. Aky is always there to greet with a smile and very friendly and the young lads Faz, Dani and Arafat work so hard and are very pleasant. We love it here and would recommend to anyone for amazing Indian food

This place is a really hidden gem We first tried a take out order and was extremely busy for collect so intatialy put us off as was 30 over due. However Aki was very apologetic and gave some take away drinks as a gesture. We then returned how with the food. Wow such a delight to finally find a take away where the food was amazing value and such good quality. With this we thought we'd try the restaurant and give them a 2nd chance. Wow wow wow. Food is amazing and the menue options are so verid it's unreal. Pricing very reasonable. Aki had a good laugh with us about the hic up on previous visit and was such an added touch to b remember and given complimentary drinks. This is now my new go to India its about a 20min drive compared to 2 mjn from my previous India however well well worth it. Great staff nice clean restaurant and great choice and good price. First experience of a northern curry as I'm from South Wales. The food was of good portions. Really tasty the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Simply the best Indian I have been told. I will be coming back. Well recommended a visit see for yourselves.

We was greeted warmly and shown to our table by Aky. He was so friendly, attentive and made sure we were all happy with our food, which was delicious. Definitely recommend the chicken tikka Karahi and a cocktail or two to go with it.

We visited here for a meal out together and served by Aky who was amazing. Fast and efficient service all with a friendly feel and a big smile! Food was amazing, one of the best curries we’ve had for a while and at such a reasonable price. Will definitely be returning soon.

We have been going to this restaurant for quite a while now and wish to pass compliments to the staff. The Spice Inn is always clean, the atmosphere is lovely and welcoming and the staff are attentive and polite. This week we were served by Aky, he is lovely and friendly and provided an excellent service. We are never disappointed when we visit or order takeaway. The restaurant has excellent Covid Measures in place.The food here is really special and we highly recommend a visit!.

I ordered a takeaway delivery, it stated it will take 45 mins to arrive after 1 hour I called they said 20 mins. Waited for nothing to arrive. I called again they said it was on it's way. Another half hour past no one has turned up. They have turned the phone off. Took my money but no food delivered. Disgusting service. Do not take peoples money!!

We have eaten at Spice Inn on numerous occasions both as a couple and on family gatherings.The welcome we get is always happy and friendly, the staff all are very pleasant and helpful. It is always spotlessly clean and during the colder months kept nice and warm.There is an extensive food menu as well as an excellent bar selection, with a newly added cocktail choice.we would recommend Spice Inn to anyone and we will continue to visit.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

Lovely clean place! Food is lovely and the price is more than reasonable for what you get! We have been only two times and we take have taken our children both times. Aki is a lovely waiter and we feel looked after! Well worth a try, we went on recommendation and I would recommend to others! We will certainly make this place our regular! Visited here for the first time. Nice friendly staff. Varied menu. We all had set meal for 11.95. Very good value. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back.

I only discovered Spice Inn just before Christmas when I visited with my boyfriend's family. I was blown away by the food and since then I must have been back at least 4 times over the last month! A proper hidden gem! The food is amazing, couldn't rate it highly enough (I'd recommend the Chicken Sagwala- it's the best I've ever had or the Bengal Taste). Service is wonderful, Aqi & everyone create a very welcoming atmosphere. I've been raving about it that much most of my friends/ family are dying to visit. Definitely worth a trip down - you won't be disappointed :)!

Father picked up meals and said, Pleasant staff on arrival. food was ready on time and was hot when arrived home. Very tasty. All five meals were delicious and enjoyed by all the family. We will definitely be back again. Thank you.

Decided to try somewhere new and we weren't disappointed! We went early evening & it was lovely and quiet. Waiter was very attentive & helpful, good menu, fresh & tasty food at a reasonable price. We will be dining here again!

We have just had an excellent takeaway from The Spice Inn. Ordering online was super easy, the food was ready promptly upon my husband arriving to collect it and was obviously freshly cooked. We will definitely be visiting soon for a meal - the food was absolutely delicious.

Came here with my girlfriend for a meal and was waited on by Aki who was extremely professional and made us feel very welcome. Food was amazing, hot and full of flavour complements to the chef will defiantly be returning.

I went with friends to this restaurant. They all ate Indian food and enjoyed it. However, I had a steak, asked for medium rare, it arrived grey and grisly, didn't complain because I had been invited and didn't want to upset friends. wouldn't go again.

Had an amazing night at Spice Inn, the food was exceptional considering how busy there were, everything was piping hot and they really kept on top of the service as There were lots of parties in all at the same time. Fire works at midnight was a bonus and the DJ was really good.

Visited here with a few friends and the service was horrendous ... the food came cold and when i complained i was made to feel as if i was wrong and my opinion didnt matter, will not be visiting again!

Me and my friend came for tea here and I honestly can’t believe how nice the food was! There’s a deal on where it’s 3 courses for 11.95! Amazing for the quality of food! The staff were extremely friendly and there was minimal wait time for all courses! Defiantly worth a meal here! We will certainly be back! Very impressed!

Wanted to try somewhere different to take elderly and infirm parents and was recommended to try this restaurant.We were seated centrally but with plenty of space for access and walking sticks and presented with a massive menu-so much choice!The service was attentive and the dishes were plentiful,well presented and very tasty.The bill for 4 people was approximately £20 a head for starters and mains,one dessert and two rounds of drinks-so extraordinary value.We will be dining here again.

Food is beautiful staff are lovely and prices are great!!! Calm setting never really busy here as it's set in a little village. But it's nice to relax and enjoy the quiet enjoying you're meal with family or friends.

Always had good food and service from here, I do understand that sometimes the service can be a little slow, but this is usually when its busy and the staff do their best to keep you entertained in the meantime.

Este es mi favorito! ! Voy aquí quizás cada 2 meses. Tienen ofertas de comida, que es una relación calidad-precio extraordinaria. El mezclado de arranque es para morirse! ! Cordero biryani con pan nan coconut es un deber! ! Nada es demasiado problema. Teníamos la cena de Navidad aquí este año, Turquía tradicional o una selección de platos de curry su favorito. Gran ambiente. También tuvimos una comida para mis hijas 18 cumpleaños donde había 20 personas, jóvenes y viejos, todos eran sirve eficientemente y todo caliente! ! No se pierda este tesoro escondido! !

Visitamos aquí con mi esposa, dos niños (1 y 3) y los padres de mi esposa temprano en la noche del sábado. Después de reservar mesa en la mañana en el sitio web nos dieron una cálida bienvenida del personal y estamos teniendo una buena mesa. La comida era fantástica y la cerveza (cobra) genial. El servicio fue rápido y cortés. Los niños disfrutaron de su curry después pedimos un extra suave para ellos, lo que no estaba en el menú. Volveremos allí ahora sabemos que los niños son bienvenidos y la comida fabulosa.

Las especias son siempre muy acogedor y Inn muy atento. Cenamos aquí un par de veces ya que vivimos cerca y nunca he tenido ninguna queja. Siempre comida muy sabrosa y llega rápidamente. Encantador restaurante, siempre tranquilo cuando vamos (normalmente un domingo por la noche) pero eso no es una reflexión sobre el servicio de comida.

This is a cracking Indian restaurant in the Haughton Green area of Denton. The place is always clean, simply and well decorated. The staff are always so friendly and the food is always good. We often use it for deliveries as well as the restaurant.The menu is large and varied with all the usual favorites and a good selection of chef specials too.

In a small village of Haughton Green there is a Asian cuisine food experience that we felt we had to comment on.This village between Ashton,Hyde and Stockport does have a restaurant that is truelly worth trying. Mr Ali and staff once we were settled at table No 2,pointed out both the food and wine menus which covered all tastes and needs.The food was large in portion and high in quality and taste.We ordered a White Zinfandel to complement our meal and also a large jug of iced water. Our 3 course meal was rounded off with a nice coffee and liquer.Because of an any day offer of a 3 course meal that includes sweet or coffee at £10.95 and drinks at a additional cost our bill of under £40 for 2 people represented great value. Coming from Spain to visit family we both enjoyed the Friday night experience at the Spice Inn and we look forward to our next visit.

Brilliant place and excellent customer service and great value for money. Food is fantastic, great choice and if there's anything not on menu all you need to do is ask as I did for requesting cashew rice. We like to visit midweek and early doors so can't say what it's like at busy periods bit we love it here.

Went in to order a take out, the young waiter taking the order was friendly & helpful enough, however whilst waiting for the takeout, after about 5 minutes I asked if I can add to the order (as I had got a text from the person who the order was for). When I said I wanted to add to the order they acted like it was the most unreasonable request in the world with their facial expressions. It was the more senior guy I think he was the manager of the place, he huffed and talked down to me in a tone that made out as if I was being very inconvenient. It was 7pm there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. Disgraceful behaviour. I used to work on a restaurant & was taught to always try and fulfill the customer's wishes politely. That dos not happen here from the owner of all people! Terrible service. The food was nothing special either. There are many other Indian restaurants in the area, go to one of them, don't go to this place and give them your money because you'll only inconvenience them. Abysmal.

Great food, friendly service and great atmosphere. It's our local too, so even better.Just be careful if you have a large group or if the restaurant is busy. Sometimes mistakes happen and the food doesn't arrive on time.

Booked a take away meal advised would be 50 mins. We rang a hour and a half later they advised us they would be five minutes, half an hour later we rang again. They couldn't remember the order and advised very busy would be another twenty mins. Poor customer service won't be returning and they didn't seem particularly bothered.

Just got back from spice Inn after booking a table at 7.30pm, took drink orders promptly but after that it went downhill and it's really disappointing seeing as I have been several times before and found everything excellent. Waiting for drinks to be filled and drinks orders to arrive...so much so I went to the bar myself to speed things up after the starters! Awful service, nobody asking like they usually do if the food was ok ect.By half 9 (2 hours in!) we had had enough of waiting for the main course, kept saying it's on its way...yes they were busy but if you can fit people in then you should be able to keep up with demand!!?By 10pm we had finished eating, wanted desert and coffee but fed up of waiting, we called taxi then had to wait at the bar for another 10 mins for the bill, £70 odd later and still not one question about how the food was etc. The card machine basically thrown at me without a word!! Infact the food itself was great once it arrived! But the guest we had with us was equally as disappointed with the service.What should have been a good family night out was a complete let down, so much so i wont be returning, or ordering a delivery from here again.Very disappointed

I have visited here a few times with my friend as it's so close to home! The £9.95 deal is fab! Mixed started is very tasty and just enough! And the main.... Tandoori garlic chicken sizzler.... Epic! I eat curries a lot and have been to India several times so have quite a high standard but you won't be dissapointed! Cheesy naan was spot on too! Only small complaint the rice portain is a little on the small side but with prices as good as here you can just order another! Staff friendly, place clean and great food! Thank you x

This is our local restaurant and my family and I visit on a regular basis. The food is excellent and the staff can never do enough for you. Of you want something that isn't on the menu they are always happy to oblige. Can't fault it one bit.

The spice in as always been spot on every time we've been. We've had family party there. Been as couple and been with friends. Offers good value for money. Love the £9-95 5 courses thats on offer. Staff are always polite and friendly . When we had a family party there we had about 30 people. The staff was so clued up and made sure we all got are food at the same time. Was there last week with husband. Looking forward to a quite meal when a noisy crowd arrived. The staff came over and askted if we'd like to move somewhere else. We didn't move and the other table was only talking so going to be loud as there was 8 of them having a good time. They wasn't causing trouble so all good. So everyone at some point should give the spice inn a try. Compared to some of the curry places about its one of the nicest restaurant. Its so clean and tidy. And staff are well trained and really nice people. Looking forward to are next visit next month.

always go to the spice inn,how ever the past couple of times it has not been the best of night,s....must point out it was NOT the staff or managers fault,it was the parents fault due to allowing their children run around the tables without shoes on,flicking food around, parents swearing in conversation to other members of their table & being very loud.it was that bad you couldn't hear the staff speaking to you. this restaurant offers a fantastic menu,food is to die for,staff are lovely, its the best place around but the manager really needs to look at no kids after a certain time on a Saturday night orhe is to tell diners kids must behave,or older people like ourselves will dine some where eles,lets face it we have all brought children up but brought them up to behave in a restaurant and we certainly didn't use foul languge around our family & friends....ruined our night :-(

Visited on a Thursday evening around 7.30 ordered the set menu £9.95 that included most starters and mains and a choice of side! Ordered Chicken Tikka Suhee that was gorg! I eat currys a lot and it takes a fair amount to impress me but the naan was the nicest I have tasted outside of India! Overall very good and I will return x

We visit the Spice Inn regularly... Every weekend! We love it. There is so much choice on the menu with the opportunity to have the £9.95 menu if you want excellent value for money. We have not had a bad meal there yet. Our daughter is entertained by the fantastic waiters and she knows them all by name. She may even have brought you the bill or your hot towels! The Wine selection is great, as well as the superb cold beers. You've got to visit The Spice Inn if you haven't already tried it, even if it's only to taste the delicious ice cream desserts. You will not be disappointed!

We go to the spice inn every Friday we Always had excellent Service friendly staff excellent food I had chicken tikka thawa Never had this dish any where else very tasty I would say try this Dish in spice inn in Denton I think it's the best Restaurant in this Area. Also health and hygiene five star award winner restaurant I do recommend this restaurant I will visit Again this Friday And everytime I order some food I always get it in time, love it also their service is excellent and everytime time I order food in weekends it takes 45 to an hour that's how it is and I am happy with it because their really busy on weekends by the way spice inn is the best resturant for me and my family and please stop saying lies about spice inn what's not true the resturant you went to it was probably a different one so please stop saying lies about spice inn !!

Looked on trip advisor for a new place after the Crown Plaza let us down after 12 years custom. Said the menu was not available any longer that was on line. Honoured in the end and got the free bottle of wine for the order. Sent white which we dont drink. Meal was 20 minutes late a lot after waiting an hour. Meals was crap! end of.

Came here on 10th of August, Service was really goood, the waiters are very generous. The Started were really nice and I had the garlic chicken which was on point very nice... For the Mains which came just as we was ready for them was lovely the chicken thawa, after we finished our mains they asked if we would like any coffee or ice cream but me and my family were too full! The portions are alot for the price Will definitely come again

First time visit 09.08.2014 and will be my last - party of 4 Well what can l say, arrived early and had a pleasant greeting and told our table was ready,impressed. That was the only time, service was very slow, took a while just to get a waiter to take our drinks order, eventually, we got to order our food, which again took to long to arrive, the place wasn't full either. After waiting for over an hour from our starter, the waiter came over and asked would we like ice cream or a coffee ... Explained we were still waiting for our meals. The food eventually arrived, and was not the usual fare in an indian restaurant , portions were very small. Asked to speak to the manager regarding the very poor service, he came over and accepted what we told him, he offered us all a baileys each as a way of apologising, 20 mins later they arrived, 4 shot glasses with ice in them with what could only be described as a spoonful of baileys to be seen, adding further insult to there very poor service.... If you like waiting an hour between courses maybe this place is for you, will never go back there

After eating in some fantastic Indian restaurants in Oldham, I decided to venture further afield for my children's birthday. It was well worth the drive. Upon arrival on a Tuesday evening, the place was busy and vibrant without being noisy. After ordering drinks we scanned the extensive menu. 5 courses for £9.99 sounded too good to be true. These offers usually have a restricted choice of the basic staple starters and curries. How wrong I was. We were informed by a very attentive waiter that 95% of the menu was included so as well as your "basic curries" we could order nearly all of the Chefs Specials and House Specials as part of the offer.So I got a plate of poppadoms and relishes, Lamb tikka starter, chicken naga bahar with rice. All fantastically cooked and very tasty. I was offered a choice of desserts and coffee after this but I was stuffed. It might be cheap but they don't scrimp on the portions.My son also had the 5 course menu and said the food was fantastic. He managed a dessert as well because he's a teenager and they never stop eating. His twin sister is less adventurous when it comes to cuisine and just had chicken tikka and chips which she said was lovely. I think she only comes because she likes the music.All in all spotlessly clean, attentive service without being intrusive, superb food, great value for money. Will definitely go back again

I have eaten here a number of times and I can not imagine anyone leaving here less than satisfied and a promise to themselves to return. The welcome is warm and genuine, the ambiance is excellent and the food is "First Class" There is a wide choice on the menu and the £9.95 special is unbeatable value - Poppadoms with pickles/chutney, starter, main course with rice etc. If you are having the £9.95 special tell your waiter, otherwise you will be charged the menu prices which are somewhat higher. If you wish, you can take your own wine, although a bottle of the House wine (which is pretty good) is only about £8.00). There are 2 draught beers including Cobra and they also have Cobra 0% in bottles. I didn't rate the coffee but that is just a personal thing isn't it. All in all you will be hard pressed to find a more satisfying Indian dining experience

We have been to this restaurant several times as a couple, with friends and family and on celebrations, each time we have received excellent service and good food at reasonable prices.I would recommend it for special occasions or for a meal for 2. Well worth a visit.

Thought we would try a different place from our usual in Denton and were very pleased we did. Love Asian food and so headed off to the Spice Inn after booking a table for 2 with a very pleasant man on the phone. Restaurant is very nice , service very efficient and food delicious. Portions good and reasonably priced. Toilets very clean and quite plush.Will definitely return and would highly recommend for meat eaters and veggies.

Went for husbands 65 last night was quiet as it was Tuesday, very clean on entrance, even toilets clean, decoration lovely, comfy seat & good sized table, friendly staff, beer good had cobra on draught, had poppadum's & mixed platter, then starters, then main meal, nan bread, 2 drinks each £31.00 excellent value but far to much would definitely recommend anybody who like Indian . *****

I can't believe that we have left it so long to try this place! We had the 5 course special deal and the food was absolutely gorgeous. There are a lot of different meals to try as well as the standards, so there is something for everyone. The portions are generous too. Can't fault the service and the atmosphere. There were several families there, even with babies in buggies, so it's family friendly as well. Very highly recommended and will DEFINITELY be going back.

The title says it all. We went to celebrate my sons birthday and had a lovely meal with excellent friendly service. Highly recommended.

The Spice Inn is a contemporary Indian Restaurant and a bargain place to eat Indian food.This is a restaurant that in 2013 came runner up in a prestigous national Indian restaurant award reaching the final in London. (winner was a from Glasgow ).When you walk in you are greeted by very friendly staff. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and seating is very well set out.They serve very good beers as well as a varied stock of wines. The restaurant allows you to bring you own wine if you wish.The menu has a full and varied range of indian dishes along with chefs special dishes.There is also a childrens menu and a good English selection.The food is of the highest quality and presentation is first class.Traditional music is played in the background to enhance your restaurant experience.At the top of the reveiw i stated "bargain restaurant". This is because if you were to have a 5 course meal of the menu it would work out quite expensive, but the Spice Inn has a 7 days a week meal deal including unlimited sundries (rice ect) for under £10.00p per person.This includes chefs specials but check with waiter if there are any additional cost as things like king prawns, fish may have a higher charge other than that the deal covers at least 95% of the menu.The restaurant gets quite busy Fri to Sun so it may be advisable to ring them.There is some car parking space at the rear and also on main road after 6.30pm but check with restaurant.I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have taken lots of people who regard the restaurants they use as good, that is until they have been to the Spice Inn.Happy eating. you will not be dissapointed.

went with 10 relatives. Food great, service excellent. Staff very friendly. My first visit, will definitely go again . Air conditioning a bonus in this weather.
