Spice Hut in Birmingham

Ordered 2 Large chips but was sent 2 medium Fries. if I wanted fries I would've ordered fries! Peshawar naan was old with flaking bits inside. it was also 7 inches where as Peshawar naans be exceptionally large and enough for 2/3 people. The naan sent wouldn't suffice even 1 person. The lamb curry was good but was too spicy even though I specified it to be medium.

I received a burger unfir for human consumption, reported the issue to Just Eat. Made me retch something rottern was in the burger.

Ordered shatkura, told em I eat spicy and and I was told the medium spice is really hot and was kindly forced to go with the medium so I did, no spice at all and very disappointed with the food oh and yeh I found a beard hair on my food !!! M defo going back to get my money back or a replace my meal !. Period!

Food safety should always be a priority, and unfortunately, my experience suggests that this establishment falls short in that regard. I urge the management of Spice Hut to take food safety more seriously and to ensure that their kitchen adheres to strict hygiene standards. I ordered sheekh kebab but it was not fresh at all. They used frozen ones - very disappointed as they claim to be fresh and make hot food

Mixed doner- lamb was good but chicken pieces were old and dry. Nan was old and hard. Wings- bloody old and refried in old oil. Naga wings- looks scary like ree colouring and old. Straight outa hells kitchen. This is a disgrace especially as bengali Muslims we should uphold the need to serve fresh food. Fast food is already bad for health but to serve OLD refried fast food is unacceptable. Gave 2 stars out of my generosity.

Visited here as a treat with a friend from Brum who highly recommend this place to me. The burgers are dangerous, their naga wings are deadly and their blood red chilli sauce is lethal. I usually have it with a cold coleslaw just to take the edge off. These Bengalians surely know how to cook great fodder. Keep it up lads 💪🏻

It's Halal, second time coming here from Oxfordshire. Run by Bengalis. So you know the food is going to bang. No music 🎶, no free mixing , it's a pleasure to spend good money here for value . May Allah preserve and protect their business .

It’s all leaked all over bag and food missing

What I ordered and what I received exceeded my expectations. However, when they say hot, they really do mean it so if you like south Asian style hot dishes then opt in for the hot option otherwise stick to medium. This was one of the best takeaway biryani’s I have eaten in a very long time. It was almost as good as a home-cooked biryani. For a shop that’s known for its Donna kebab, they did a really good job with the curries better than any curry House I’ve had.

Not like the original one in London. Ordered a £50 order spices was grainy, sauces tasted plasticky as though it’s been sorted for a long time in the sun or somewhere hot. Tasteless unfortunately

Extremely high levels of RED food colouring on the naga Donner meat and naga wings which could be a health hazard. red colouring dripping and completely stained my fingers which I could not wash off.

Usually spice hut is perfect in east London. This one food was cold and not up to usual 10/10 standard. However spice hut usually gives best food ever in the world so I’ll always go again and give more chances.

Medium spiced regular Donner & chicken kebab with naan and there chilli sauce just tasted amazing. Their lamb chops wor nice as well

Spice Hut missed out 2 x large fries, so had to go without fries with my naga wings and I was fasting all day so was hoping to have a good feast. its a good thing I opened the bag when it was delivered as I would have had a bigger shock if I open then bag just be for breaking my fast. all they had said when I rang them up was sorry mistakes happen and said there going to refund my money will have to wait and see if they keep there word and refund my money. Delivery driver was polite and delivered on time as they work for just eat and not Spice Hut. Really disappointed 👎

Very disappointed about the missing item. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. If you order from here be ready for missing items as it’s the third time it’s happened to me. They said they’d sent me a replacement but I’d have to place an order for a small item, all in all not worth the hassle with the service and delivery charge so the mistake wasn’t rectified. I was told they have no drivers available to deliver my missing food. With it being Iftar and having friend over even worse. Will nee

First time at Spice Hut, always see it as I pass the Coventry Road, so I thought to check it out on a takeway order. It did impress me as the food was good for a takeway. Ordered myself a Donner Burger Meal (Curry Donner) and to be honest it actually hit the spot. Good service from the lads too.

i order a doner biriani .its just awsome .test was so good and less oily❤️ one more thing please increase you tarka dall test it not testy.

Excellent quality of service and the food is amazing.

First time visiting this branch , and parking on Coventry Road was a bit of a struggle, but totally worth it. Tried the loaded box 1 special offer, and it blew me away. They've got this awesome attention to detail in their food that you can't miss and shows they really put love into it. Portion sizes were spot-on, and the spices in the donner and wings were a flavour explosion. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and everything came out pretty quick. Was slightly let down by the sauces they gave but overall a solid experience that's got me thinking about my next visit. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu!

Used to be the best naga donnor but honestly don't know what's happened, I always used to buy their naga donnor but recently when you ask for "extra hot", they don't even make it spicy or add any naga pieces in like they used to?? It's literally a hint of spice, might aswell have plain donnor! Last 3x I been same issue, didn't bother complaining as I didn't want to cause any inconvenience but don't think I'd be going back here anymore. Took few of my friends here recently and it wasnt upto it's normal standard, not happy! Also, I have no clue why one day they charge £6 and another £7 for the same thing even if I order "extra hot" so silly? Like stick to one price, different people say different prices here depending on who serves you...

Naga donner and wings have no flavour of naga whatsoever, some btec level chilli sauce and green chillies and upped price. If your looking for naga food this place ain’t the one.

EDIT: I have now gone down from 5 to 1 star. After ordering and taking home naga wings I saw they were all covered in chicken hair. They had not been cleaned at all! It’s a shame that after going here for over a year I can’t go back. Photo is after I had removed some hair already trying to see what it could be.

Absolutely terrible service - they do not understand anything and particularly cannot understand English. I placed an order and received something completely different. The hygiene in this place is terrible. Food, 2/10. DO NOT LET HELAL UDDIN TAKE YOUR ORDER!!!!!!!!! If you’re looking for spicey or Naga donner, go elsewhere. This is definitely not worth the hype nor the money.

Very good service, the taste of the naga is the same as Luton and east London, shame they don’t have the chips, Nan drink combo for the naga doner as the meals taste better on the Nan bread rather than chips in the box but this is personal preference. Would recommend to anyone wanting that spice fix

Unlike the one on green St, London, this branch didn't live up to the standard. I purchased naga wings which were very plain with excessive batter on it. The price charged wasn't worth it. Regrettably I personally wouldn't be going there.

Massive menu but only ever tried the shatkora and naga doners... Hits the spot if you're looking for some decent trash takeout to burn your tongue. Can't comment on the rest of their offerings.

Very poor experience they never answer the phone, I have been calling passed 1 week but unfortunately they keep you waiting and will never answer the calls, all I wanted to tell them I want touch hot on donner kebab but for some reason no one speaks English so they avoid to answer. I will avoid as customer service is below standard and medium hot food is xtra extra extra hot! They don't know the difference between hot medium touch hot and mild, please avoid and this review is done by my self who is sylheti so please if you want to experience spice hut go to London branches in Mile end or Burdett Road, I've lost hope with these guys

It’s decent. I just don’t understand why I need to wait more than 5 mins at a fast food establishment. I ordered chicken and chips, and some donner with fries = 25 min wait.

Food was good in taste. The only thing that lets them down is everything is precooked and just heated.

Naga donner is good if they used real naga chillies.. they use normal chillies and red pepper and naga pickle. People are nice.

Great food, the spice and flavours are amazing

Very cheap and tasty fast food restaurant with many options of what to eat and also when. This is probably the most hygienic but tasty restaurant in the borough.

I went here the other day with my husband and the food was good the service was really fast and they were very hygienic and cleaned after the customer within minutes of them leaving and the toilets were very clean overall I would come here again .

if you have no where else to go and nothing else to do in life, go there, as their order takes an hour, they call this fast food, absolute joke. food itself is average nothing extraordinary, overpriced, small portion, tiny nan! under staffed, not clean as it could be.

Finally got to try the famous spice hut!! And boy was I impressed 😍 didn't expect much from the bad reviews but they blew my mind Masha'Allah! 😋 Donner was very spicy and flavoursome, fries were tasty, burger was a bit bland but should've opted for something different 👍🏻 Very generous portions, decent prices and provided us with lots of sauce, really appreciate that ❤️🙏 Definitely would recommend this place, speedy delivery, food was pipping hot, provided utensils, only improvement would be the sauces they provide, not a big fan. 👌🏻

Amazing food considering the price

The best all rounder for me. The quality doesnt dilute despite the wide variety, to the contrary the wide variety is what appeals to me. One week it will be a byriani and curries the following week ill tend to have a mixed kebabish (the best in the city) sometimes it will just be chicken. The wings are well flavoured i get this regardless of what i order

Im really torn about spice hut Birmingham. I'll raise the problems first The walls are absolutely filthy with food and sauces all over it, and the environment could be much more nicer and friendlier. Maybe play some sort of music or nasheed The uber eats drivers that come in screaming and shouting on the phone making the eating diner experience absolutely awful. Food is good Front of house staff doesnt understand english very well so got the order wrong and then tried to charge us extra for drinks and naan which is supposed to be a part of the meal deal. I explained i only wanted the drinks early as were hungry and needed the drinks to keep us going. The front door was left open whilst the cold wind blew while we are trying to enjoy the meal eating in. I tried to feed all this back to the nice manager but he was too busy with his staff and orders. I sincerely wish you the best and really see if you can resolve the above issues to make it worth a pleasant experience and not a cheap chicken and chips sort of place.

Thank you for the food, priced well, tasted amazing. I ordered the 10 naga wings and the naga Donna with fries and a naan. Its blessing this place isn't closer to home otherwise I would be there every other day. My no1 place to eat in smallheath now. I think the negative reviews are from the local competition.

Tried twice now to sit in both times refused despite long opening hours and ppl eating in. Will not try again Best to avoid.

Terrible portion size, an absolute joke. If I’m expecting to pay £4 for a DOUBLE cheese burger then I expect a £4 sized cheeseburger and not one that can be given to a child. Fries were limp and soggy with no flavour whatsoever and the chilli sauce in the tub was glowing fluorescent red as if they cleaned paint brushes in red paint. The best thing about the meal was the Tango Apple drink and leaving the shop. Don’t go here, prices are terrible and it’s a rip off, you are much better spending your hard earned cash by going somewhere else.

I just bought grill burger meal and one chicken rap meal. I brought it home was so disappointed. Cold fries and fatty chicken very spicy and to make it worse it was not warm. Worst fast food I have ever experienced. Never will I go back there

10/10 food amazing quality cooked to perfection fresh tasty good size portions will be coming again. Not sure why people complaining about prices fairly prices for what you get not your standard donnar keep up the good quality guys

Wouldn't recommend Naga wings they were cold and lacked flavour. But the regular wings were quite nice and fries were decent.Although the lamb donner is a bit too sweet so not the best would recommend chicken donner instead, lot more flavour.

Thought I’d give this place a try since I’ve heard quite a bit about it. First off I personally think it’s overpriced. Portion size is alright could be better. Asked for the mixed donner in naan mixed in with hot naga spice. At first the spice don’t hit you and then out of nowhere it hits you but it’s not long lasting which is good. Naan was slightly overcooked, crispy. The mixed donner was nice and the salad was fresh. Fries were decent and the sauce was not my taste. Decent guy who served me and quick service. Won’t happen but it should be cheaper.

Very highly recommended! After returning late from a trip in in Welsh mountains (Snowdon) we were all very tired. Our food was preordered with Spicy Hut for 40 hungry men. We called the shop 30 mins before arrival, which was late at around 11.30pm. They made sure all the food was very tasty & cooked fresh. I cannot praise these boys enough for their great service. absolutely disgusting would give 0 stars if possible! Went here for the first time and after tasting the food I wish I had the flying DeLorean (Back to the future if you know you know) as I would go back in time and never step foot in this awful place. The food was undercooked over marinated and the burgers were tragic. The price of the food compared to the quality received is shocking. First time visited but most definitely the last time.

The lamb hatkhora was amazing, a little overpriced compared to London, at £7.50, service wasn't the best, as they served my food a long time after others who ordered the same food after me. Also gave me chips, after I'd eaten the bulk of my food. The Naga wings were below average. Would go back for the hatkhora.

I was recommended by my husband we ordered Bhuna meat parathas and naan the food was amazing on point.And brother Imran was extremely good with his service and very polite y kids ordered kids meal they loved it.Please come down and check this place u will not be disappointed. After a long time I had one of the best curry nice clean place.
