Spice Fusion in Kirklees

AVIOD! only decent thing about this meal was the garlic rice! Vindaloo, no spice, madras, no spice, Bhuna and balti no taste! All curries were watery, no flavour! Have a feeling these might be frozen curries, all have the same consistency. Chicken was rubbery, had to be frozen! And don’t get me started on the Naan! Ordered peshwari naan, it’s was filled with what can only be described as coconut ice!!

Casual night out for good food. We often get takeaways which are gorgeous. We decided to eat in, which we don’t do all that often because we live nearby. Always great food and lovely staff. So friendly and the food is yum! Thank you Shaz! 😍

Not had time to write this review before now. We went here as a family on Christmas Day for lunch; my wife and son don't like roast dinners, so we decided to go here for Christmas lunch instead - we frequently go here to eat during the year. It was a marvellous experience. The food was excellent as always. The ambience was really nice. The staff were, as always, really friendly and helpful. We'll certainly be going back for Christmas lunch 2024. Can't recommend enough. One of the best restaurants for miles around.

Had a takeaway a few weeks ago, One dish was missing, and mistakes happen! said they would correct it next time. Indeed they did , delivered hot, on time, and added the missing item from last time. Thank you . Perfect 👍

Friday night take away 7pm. Chicken karai & rice & garlic naan . Rock hard chicken, watery sauce - gloopy mix. No spice. Garlic naan like a pizza & No garlic. Went in the bin the lot.

Absolutely beautiful food and great service, can not fault this place at all, can tell all the food was cooked fresh, absolutely delicious and the interior is really homely! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially the young man who made us very welcome after we haven’t been since covid , cod starter was the best I have had locally . Plenty food so had to bring some home which was no problem for them to bag up for us . Would definitely recommend and will return .

I have reviewed this restaurant previously; this was some years ago though. However, I thought I'd add another review to add to that. We had not visited the restaurant for quite some time, but have visited for dinner twice recently. The food is still excellent and the staff are very helpful and attentive; one staff member noticed that my drink was running low and came over to ask if I wanted another drink, without me having to call him over to ask him, which is what I'd been planning to do. The food is served quickly and it is clearly very fresh, with excellent ingredients. My six year old son currently describes this as his favourite restaurant "ever". This is probably the best restaurant in the area. I would very highly recommend.

Three visits to eat in, three fantastic meals. We let our server provide recommendations because sometimes the usual gets dull. Both meals fantastic, great flavour, ingredients tasted fresh and vibrant. Loved it. It’s not gourmet style served, but it is top food. Would highly recommend. Cobra’s IPA beer also really nice. Not seen that sold in a curry house before.

We have only had delivered takeaway. I can say that the food is fantastic and the delivery is very quick. Must try the restaurant sometime in the future.

Takeaway only. The interior of the restaurant is very bland. That’s quite appropriate as so is the food. The usual reheated meat with a flavourless gravy.

I’ve been meaning to leave a review for ages. We often get takeaways, and every time they are really delicious. It’s the best curry house around by far. I love the menu, it has the classics but also a great choice of ‘different’ fusion meals. All the dishes we have had, be them veggie, lentils, prawns or chicken are amazing. Thank you!

Had a great meal, good service, lovely food. The restaurant was a little quiet for a Saturday but that didn’t disappoint. All our dishes were excellent and very tasty.

We must have caught them on a bad night. I ordered online at 5.30pm and asked for a 7.15 delivery. The email confirmation came through straight away saying food will be delivered in 45 mins. So I phoned to confirm that we wanted a 7.15 delivery. 7. came and went without any sign of our food...So I waited til 7.40 and phoned...again...."Very sorry. It'll be with you in five minutes".....I was told. We waited another half an hour, then phoned again. "Very sorry. Let me phone our delivery driver" They said. "I hope our food hasn't been in his car since 7.15" I said....."Oh no" he replied. *.30 came and still no sign of any delivery. I phoned again. "Very sorry. How does 10% off your next order sound" ..... "Not very good to be honest, because I don't want to spend another evening pacing up and down my living room, looking out of the window for a f@@king curry" I told them that if they couldn't guarantee it would be there in ten more minutes, then to cancel the order... He called the delivery driver again..... We waited til 8.50, then decided to give up and put some stuff in the oven. Can you guess what happened next?? As soon as we turned the oven on and put the fish fingers in....Knock Knock !! I wish they hadn't made it. The bag of poppadoms looked like a bag of cornflakes. (See Photo-The smallest crumbs were at the bottom) We honestly had to eat them with a spoon. Starters cold and soggy. Main courses were tepid and not very good. Chicken tikka roganjosh tasted OK, but chicken was overdone. Mind you, it had probably been in a hot sauce for 3 hours.... 10% off next order?? Make it 100% off and we might give you a chance to redeem yourselves.

Best place for a curry in Huddersfield. They operated through the pandemic did best they could. Went for 50% off last week and it was delicious couldn't fault anything.

Quiet, well spaced dining area. Delicious, authentic food with deep & rich flavours. Wish I could make a curry so tasty at home!

We have eaten in this restaurant quite some time ago on Boxing Day, but today was the first time we have tried their takeaway service. The food was delivered at exactly the time they estimated it would be delivered. The food itself was the same standard as the restaurant, which is excellent. This is, without a doubt, the very best food of this nature that I have ever had - even better than the first Indian restaurant that ever opened in London, which is damn good, but Spice Fusion are better. Try it - you will not be disappointed.

Ordered at half 6 came at half 9 missing a nan and 2 starters, would not answer phone for 2 hours. Curry very watery

Just moved to New Mill so thought we would try our local Indian restaurant. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Glad to say we have a cracking place on our doorstep and would advise anyone in the area to give it a go. See you again soon

This is a lovely little curry house where the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is excellent and there is lots of choice. The house specials that we have tried so far have all been very good, the nann breads are delicious and light. There is a good choice of drinks and if you are there late you even get after dinner shots. Would be a 5 if it was a little warmer in the restaurant and sometimes you have to wait a long time for your food (which might be something to do with cooking time of the dishes we ordered). Overall very happy and will keep returning.

We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the food whether it’s the mid-week deal or a la carte. Yesterday we visited soon after they opened with our daughter & 3 year old granddaughter. The staff were friendly and efficient and all dishes were first class. They made our little one very welcome and happily served a half portion of chicken korma which she loved. Highly recommended.

Went for the special offer tonight. Been several times before and have always been pleased. Staff are very friendly and polite. The food is very good and great value. Extensive menu and not reduced portions for the offer.

We live nearby to this restaurant, but had not the chance to visit prior to our visit on Boxing Day 2018. We went as a family, including a two year old boy, all of whom were very much welcomed by the staff. The staff were very pleasant, jovial and helpful, which added to the experience, as did the pleasant ambience of the restaurant. We had a range of different dishes between us and, as others have said, the food was excellent. It is clearly lovingly prepared and is made with very fresh ingredients. As I'm sure many of us have done, I've eaten in many such restaurants over the years and Spice Fusion rates as highly as my previous best Indian restaurant experience that was many years ago in the first Indian restaurant that ever opened in the country, which is in London; indeed, whilst my memory of eating in the London establishment has faded, Spice Fusion may have actually surpassed them. My wife isn't keen on this type of food, but she thoroughly enjoyed the food and has said she would like to go back, which is again, to me, further evidence of just how good the food here is. We will definitely be back and I can wholeheartedly recommend this place all round.

Tucked away into the winding roads of the charming town of Holmfirth, this true hidden gem is a must visit for any lover of the Indian cuisine. This is a palace of tantalising flavours that will wow you every time. I have gradually fallen into becoming a regular at this fine establishment, and it is the first place on our lips every time we are looking for some tasty food. The combination of authenticity with the decor and the modern but traditional menu are a true fusion to die for. The service is polite and speedy, with a real personal touch from the delightful staff. I would like to extend direct gratitude to the staff who are always making my trips extra special, Waj and Jay. They are a credit to the business and themselves, always making myself and the family comfortable and at home. The presentation of the food is delightful, and so aesthetically appealing that we almost feel guilty eating the food and ruining the way it’s presented! Taste-wise, the fresh blend of spices is spot-on and could not be better. The food comes out piping hot and sizzling- could you ask for more? Make sure you have room for all three courses, because starters and desserts are a must, either side of mains. Please keep doing what you’re doing Spice Fusion, because we’re definitely going to keep coming!

Must have ordered from here 20+ times and every time the curry has been outstanding. Realistically I should mark as 4* because the restaurant decor is pretty dull and old pub like... But who cares, when you want a good curry and get a good curry ever time that's all you want.

Had trouble with Just Eat online order it would not accept online orders , spice Fusion kindly honered our order and delivered. We within the week paid for our delivery and to be honest ok meal. To our disgust we were then harassed again for payment which was £38.00 we then again, made a 2nd payment, called around to the spice fusion and paid actually to a member of staff. For a few evenings afterwards yet again phone calls to say this had not been paid!! Quite harassing and unsociable it was not until we sent an on line photo of the receipt,that this was understood. We will never eat at this establishment again. Terrible customer service.

Great value offer, but no skimping on food quality. Lots of choice available from normal menu. Food very tasty, staff very friendly. Been several times and always enjoyed it

I recently ordered a takeaway from here and it was all grainy and didn't even taste of anything, also it was very expensive infact it was the worst takeaway and value for money I've ever had, wouldn't order again if u paid me

Never order a takeaway for delivery from this restaurant.. They lie about delivery and keep giving false promises... I would never recommend a restaurant that lies to their customers.. Shocking Service

Consistanly good. Love the food and keep going back. The £10 starter, main and coffee on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening is the biggest bargain in Yorkshire. Great staff - very friendly and they look after you if you are a regular customer.

My husband and I have eaten at many Indian restaurants throughout West and South Yorkshire. Spice Fusion is by far the best. Out 1st visit was on Christmas Day. We took the plunge, having never eaten there before, but the Christmas Day menu looked appealing, with something for everyone in our party, and easy on the wallet too (especially with 2 teenage kids to feed too). I must say it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is small and cosy but the tables are well spaced out so you don't feel like you are on top of other guests. The food was just excellent. ALL the staff were lovely and I must say this is almost unheard of for me as all the other Indian restaurants I have eaten at have miserable staff. My husband particularly likes the Owner/Manager. We have since eaten at Spice Fusion a few times, on either a Tuesday or Wednesday, when they have their £9.95 deal on and each time the experience has been wonderful. The food is to die for, the staff clear plates away quickly (even when busy), they always ask if you want more drinks - but without doing so often that it becomes annoying. This place has a lovely atmosphere and has become our favourite Indian. Looking forward to Christmas Day 2018! :)

Poor poor service, food arrived almost an hour later than expected which was already an hour wait. Driver left opened the bag to discover no chips or rice. We called to request them and then they argued back and said they weren’t on the bill. Curries were poor too, again not as we clearly requested. Extremely poor customer service and a poorer outcome. Too expensive, too late and bad quality. Will not be ordering again.

Ordered a takeaway and ordered the butter chicken but asked if it could be made medium hot like madras hot. What I tasted when I got the dish home was more akin to a coconut dessert. Won’t be ordering that dish again. Should be renamed “death by coconut”

We just called in to see what the offer consisted of.... everything on the menu... at £9.95 it’s a great meal.... A starter a main, rice or a nan & a coffee I recommend this with confidence that you will not be disappointed.

We visited back on News Day for my fathers birthday meal, the staff were extremely friendly and allowed me to decorate our table prior to the meal earlier in the day. As there was a large group of us, the staff were very attentive and all our meals were beautiful and delicious.

Booked a takeaway delivery tonight through just eat. Booked at 6pm as soon as the restaurant was open no bad weather. 1 hr 40 later nothing so rang restaurant only to be told they are not delivering due to bad weather no phonemail no nothing bad customer service It was fine earlier and if they hadn't taken so long would not have been an issue. When I offered to meet driver who they said was stuck they then changed the story and said he had returned back to restaurant. If I had known earlier I could have made alternative plans. Won't be using again - very short sighted.

We went to Spice Fusion for a second meal with a group of friends including some more senior adults who had not eaten Pakistani food before. The experience was wonderful and the food delicious. For £10 there is an incredible range of starters (including lovely sharing platters), the main and naan/rice and then coffee. The staff are friendly and charming. The service brilliant. The sheer range of mains is so impressive and everything tastes fantastic. Thank you so much!

Visited one Saturday night as a party of 5. The restaurant was very quiet. The staff were very friendly. Even the chef came out of the kitchen to see if we were happy with the food.

Thanks to everyone at spice fusion. We joined them for Christmas day and the food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Our daughter had the turkey dinner alternative and it was great.

Not the most conventional menu and this is a good thing. I like what they’re doing with their more unusual and off-beat choices. The Chicken Tikka Kerala was superb and comes highly recommended. I don’t know if it’s the norm but the onion bhaji starter was (unexpectedly) fiery!

I ordered a takeaway for two based on the recommendation of someone who'd dined in at the restaurant five or more times previously. I was told it would take 30 minutes to prepare when I phoned in the order. I waited a further 20 minutes on arrival. On getting it home the pakoras were disgusting - the 'batter' was soggy and they were stone cold. The sauce for the jalfrezi had started separating covering my plate in water. The peshwari naan tasted metallic it had been in the foil lined bag for so long. They did apologise for the delay in the food preparation by offering a free drink but at that stage I didn't realise how poor the food was which they had given me. I can only imagine it was ready when I arrived but they forget where they put it or pretended to make it freshly. At £26 of a takeaway I would expect a lot lot more. Awful...

I visited here with my son for tea. Food was absolutely delicious, the lamb is best I've had when eating out. Service was quick and staff were friendly and competent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant as they have a good deal on a Tuesday and Wednesday - basically a tenner for a starter and main meal.

Went with friends and the food is very good, cooked to order and just the right amount of spice. The bill for 4 was just over £80 including drinks and covered started and mains. Service was a little slow but as we weren’t in a rush it wasn’t an issue. Would definitely go again.

First time trying since changing to spice fusion. My partner had chicken dopiaza with extra chickpeas which was bland, was more like a korma. I had a lamb Karahi which was okay but not the best I’ve had a service was abit slow but staff was nice.. will not be in a rush to come back though.

This is a great resturant to go to no matter what the occasion, we live local and went on a spur of the moment decision. Food was great and so were the staff.

Coming here was a last minute decision but we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. What made it stand out was the outstanding quality of our food...the chicken chat pata in particular was possibly the best curry I've ever had.

Been a while since our last visit but four of us visited yesterday for our friends 40th. The staff were polite friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, I can say hand on heart it is the best Lamb Bhuna I have tasted. The fish starters are excellent (Cod parcels and The king prawns..)Nice surroundings and atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening.

Used it for takeaway and eat-in. Good food, reasonable price and friendly staff. Changed names and owners a few times but many of staff are the same and the food is pretty consistent quality

Had a great meal with family this week after a recommendation from friends. Special offer was fab value - starter, main, rice / nan and coffee for £10 ish. The food did not disappoint. Mixed starters were really good - superbly spiced and well cooked meat and fish.

2 of us went and had a lovely meal. The restaurant is well furnished and spacious with parking straight outside. We knew the manager Alum from visiting the Darton Balti in Barnsley and he is now doing a good job here.

We ate here on Sunday evening of the May bank holiday weekend. The restaurant is quite large with a seating / bar area.

We head to spice fusion at least once a week. The food is, and always has been excellent, and the service is great. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. The staff are also great at getting the balance right between being attentive, but not harassing you.

Great food, great service and great location (we can walk here). Plenty of choice on the menu and the team at Spice Fusion always deliver 1st class customer service. We return here time and time again and can't recommend it enough

Went for a Friday night curry with a group of friends and we've never been let down by this friendly place - formerly Pink Fusion. We ordered our usual eclectic mix and polished it all off with gusto!

Went on Saturday evening and glad we booked as it soon filled up, good friendly staff and the food is great. Its the best pickle tray I have had. Plenty of food and good value, nice atmosphere and very popular for take away as well, recommend it to you..
