Spice 4U in Darlington

Amazing food, great portion sizes. Will definitely return.

Really dissapointed 😥 Fran fancied a curry last night. Google said Spice 4 U was open, so we rang , 4 times, and no answer. Then I ordered, online, from their website (which they said they preferred) , and the site crashed , TWICE and didn't allow me to order! Late and food not up to usual standards

Lovely madras & balti - we usually order from another Indian in town without fail but they were shut today. Really pleased we were brave and tried somewhere else, can only recommend

Jalfrezi was horrible. It was worst one I’ve had. Not much chicken tikka in the dish. Dansak was nice though.

Food was cold, had to be microwaved.

We visit her regularly as it is in within a 10 minute walk from home. I can't recommend the place highly enough, the food and service are exceptional. Maz is a great host and nothing is too much trouble for him and his team.

Lamb green masala was the best dish in that menu. U will get a rice or naan along with it. Which I found budget friendly

We had a great meal here, both the welcome and the food were perfect. Not sure the name of the restaurant does it any favours, but don’t let it put you off. We would return and recommend.

So we ordered a takeaway at 18.05 to be delivered at 20.30. Rang 3 times as delivery was late and told each time would be minutes. 4th phone call we were told they had not received order from just eat but called me by my first name. If they knew my name why would they not have my order! Will never order from them again.

Lovely food, only ever go here for Indian take away but we ordered at 6.25 and received it at 8.25, that’s a bit ridiculous! Restaurant not willing to refund any money

Very poor, vegetables were not fresh, ordered chicken tikka options for both curries, just got pieces of chicken ripped off a carcass which hadn't been marinated or cooked properly, keema Nan's were raw, no mince in the keema pilau, slimy veg in the side dishes, basically £35.50 in the bin. Would definitely not use again.

Tried this takeaway for the first time last week. Good service and polite staff upon arrival to collect order. Food all correct as per telephone order. It was nice to have a chicken madras that actually had a bit of a kick to it, unlike the bland taste that many other takeaways serve up. 5*

The food was excellent. There were four of us and the dishes we ordered were from the korma, pasanda and dhansak sections of the menu. Each dish was subtly spiced and delicious, the pilau and coconut rice perfectly cooked, the poppadoms light and crispy, the peshwari and garlic naans fluffy and not at all oily. Staff were courteous and attentive and the atmosphere pleasant and relaxed. One piece of constructive advice I would offer them is to stock a non-alcoholic beer and also low-calorie soft drinks. Otherwise perfect.

Ordered at 6.15pm via justeat app, advised it would be delivered bet 7.30-7.50pm however, by 8pm it hadn't arrived (despite the app stating it had) so I rang the restaurant - they told me the food was ready but they were waiting for the driver to return then they would be delivering it. It eventually arrived at 8.20pm which is not great. Am disappointed the restaurant didn't let us know as we would have driven over to collect if we'd known they were that busy. The food, when it arrived, needed heating as understandably it was no longer hot. However on the plus side the meal was nice once warmed up.

The best in town by far, never had a bad meal from Spice 4U. Friendly staff happy to discuss allergies and delivery drivers courteous.

Food was excellent as always. Delivery was quite late to say we ordered hours in advance.

Mint yoghurt that came with the samosas was off. It was so fermented that it was fizzy. Unacceptable. It took over an hour for this order to be delivered, even though it was ordered early in the evening between 6 and 7pm.

Really friendly service, food was fantastic and the resteraunt is cozy. Overall a really nice experience and enjoyable meal.

Waited 2 and a half hours , called a number of times , told waiting for driver /on its way /where do u live I might be able to bring it and now no order, joke !

After ordering a meal for two via the takeaway app, the meal did not arrive. This was despite numerous telephone calls. The last of which was a complete lie in that we were told the delay was because of an accident. Sad fact of the matter is I live on the road where the accident was alleged to have occurred. Utter rubbish!. Appalling service, do not go. I was told a complete lie. A special celebratory night ruined. I would have preferred the truth I.e. they did not have the drivers or whatever but to be spun a lie so they could take your money with nothing in return …………. Don’t risk it

Visited here tonight for the 1st time with my mate after having it recommended. Lovely place even if it wasn't very busy at all. The food was fresh and prompt. The curry was totally delicious, had a lamb Madras which was beautiful, nice and thick sauce with a very good kick without being over powering, staff polite and friendly and very reasonable price, will definitely be returning

Absolutely horrible curry I ordered a chicken tikka masala and it was watery and the chicken was pink food came cold and took 3 hours and next day I had food positing never eating here or ordering here again

2nd time to use delivery option from Spice4u. Outstanding food and service. We returned to Darlington recently after an 8 year gap. Spice4u was always our favourite curry restaurant anyway but the standard of the food is off the scale compared to a few years ago. Gone from really great to truly amazing and our visitors agreed !+

First time I have tried Spice 4U and it was amazing. The best Chicken tikka pathia I have ever had. It even had fresh lemon in. This will be my go to Indian restaurant. Thank you for a superb meal.

Loved the indian from here, I'm not a big fan of spicy spicy food so tend to stick to the dry tikka and tandoori and the rice and na'ans and everything from here was perfect. Plus Maz in front of house was so lovely and made me so comfortable whilst I waited!

Although the food was good ,( a little bland) the delivery service and after sales was terrible. I live in a large house phone signal isn't the best , adding to the confusion that just eat dosent connect all calls if you phone providers aren't the main four. But when I tried to explain to the owners that his driver didn't ring me when I didn't hear the door ,I was treat with complete disrespect. 😔
