Speed Chinese in North Ayrshire

Ordered a beef curry and in my opinion, it's the worst curry that I've had. Shame really as portion sizes were great

I've used Speed several times since moving here and never been disappointed. The quality of food is always good and the portions are phenomenal. Their special buffet at £16 for 3 meals have slightly smaller portions, but they equal what most other takeaways give as standard! Always very pleasant staff as well. 10/10 from us.

I enjoy there food every time ! The chicken satay on the sticks are amazing! Curry is amazing as well what more can you ask for!

I always use this Chinese and never had a bad meal, on Friday 16 August 2019, I ordered 2 meals when I got home my husband was eating his meal when he found a finger nail, we both put the rest of our dinner in the bin and have decided not to return we ate both disgusted I was going to phone but didn’t want another meal in case it happened again

We got a delivery to the caravan park.The food came quickly and was lovely, i can recomend the chicken curry and chowmein .The food was reasonably pricedtoo

Ordered from just eat. They didn’t deliver. Phoned them, they said they had chapped my door twice but we didn’t answer. We were waiting for the food as you do and have 2 dogs in the house who bark at a crisp packet going past the house but somehow we had not answered the door! All they did was argue about how they could never have got it wrong. Asked what do we want to do? Maybe the answer should have been - I’m sorry we’ll get the food to you. Oh my god you need to get better staff as you are going to lose all your customers with this attitude. We had you down as our new Chinese food takeaway but this has made me want to run a mile. Yuk, disgusting!

Got told driver at door twice Was starving would have answered 👌what a let down looked forward to so great Chinese food. Let down by delivery

Worst Chinese I’ve had in a while. £6 for a portion of salt and chilli chicken is obscene considering the awful taste the food had. Would 100% not recommend.

Omg!! Chinese is the amazing. Gravy is the best I’ve tasted for a very long time. They also do salt n chilli chicken chow mein with is absolutely delicious. Speed also give you amazing portions which is great value for your money. Eaten here so many times and I haven’t complained once. Well worth ordering when in Saltcoats.

Dreadful take away. This was the first time I've used this and definitely the last. I ordered special fried rice at £7 I thought very expensive but at least it must be good.hiw wring I was , poor quality the pork had a nasty taste and chicken dry rice had cubes if ham in it.rice very gloopy Worst Chinese I've had for many a year.When I was waiting a lady came and asked for 2 cans if diet coke and got charged £2.40. COMPLETE RIP OFF.I would Avoid.i certainly will be.

Really enjoyed my Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style. Meal arrived piping hot, on time and with free prawn crackers. Nice friendly driver. Felt a bit dubious after reading some feedback but certainly no problems for me

I ordered from this Chinese on my caravan trip and was really looking forward to it! The man delivered it to our caravan door what was great. We ordered chips,rice, salt n pepper chicken and curry sauce, everything was good however the curry sauce tasted like it had coffee poured into it. This really ruined my meal and I was gutted about it as I was really looking forward to it

Decided to get a takeaway with my mum's friend on Sunday night but when we got back we got the wrong meals so mum phoned them back up, they sent the right meal half an hour later to the house the sweet and sour sauce was good but the king prawn in batter was salty also a bit soggy I didn't enjoy it.

A visit to sunny Saltcoats on a cold October night to see friends.To save my friends cooking, I ask "What's the best local Chinese takeaway in the area?". Speed Chinese was the answer given, so an order was promptly placed.Now given it was an order of three full meals & some side dishes, Speed do like to add in a few freebies as the amount spent increases. A very nice touch, even if the freebies only become available when you reach over £20.Delivery time was about an hour on a Sunday night. Some may find that too long, but I don't mind as I'd rather wait for my food to be cooked fresh rather than rushed out & only fit for the bin.As it was, a very polite young delivery driver turned up with our massive bag of hot Chinese food freshly made from Speed Chinese.Now I can't comment on the food my friends ordered but I can comment on the food I tried.I had a large fried rice (£3) & a portion of curry sauce (£2.50). The portion of curry sauce in my opinion is massively overpriced. So all in all my meal worked out at £5.50. I have since discovered I could have got a breast of chicken curry & a small fried rice for only £6 in comparison. Might have seen better value buying that.As it was the large fried rice was lovely & substantial. The overpriced curry sauce was devoid of any spice & was fairly weak. Bland is a strong term for the curry sauce but it was bordering on almost being tasteless.The meals my friends ordered seemed to go down & well & when I asked they said they had enjoyed them.I myself have tasted far superior Chinese takeaway meals that provide better taste & value. Saltcoats is a small town & choice is rather limited. Perhaps that's the reason Speed has no need to up their game in terms of the spiciness of their curry sauce. With a better spicier curry sauce this would actually be a passable Chinese takeaway, but it's certainly not going to rival the better Glasgow based establishments that do things far better.Your mileage of course may vary.

Absolutely excellent takeaway food.. chicken breast fried rice is great.. everything we have ordered was fresh and delivered really quickly I highly recommend this takeaway

Nothing special average, can be a long wait busy on a fri and sat night with pub goers it's ok if your looking for a average take away

Lovely food out of here but waited over an hour and a half for delivery .. When I telephoned to enquire how long it would still be, the woman on the phone was very cheeky and told me if I didn't like it then she will just cancel my order and hung the phone up .. Was a regular there but won't ever go back again ..
