China Unicorn in North Ayrshire

Ordered from here twice now when we're down in our motorhome. Food was good, reasonable price. Partner said entrance was a bit dated but on the whole it was nice & we'd order again

Order from here waited over a hour for them to cancel order won’t ever be back here. AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!!

Our usual place of choice to get a takeaway. Tonight's "crispy honey chicken" looked and tasted more like a soggy, cheap, fake battered chicken fillet covered in a sauce with lumps of pineapple! Straight into bin it went! Beef curry was great as usual but disappointed with refusal to replace my order. £1 discount off next order....no thanks! Won't order from here again. Time to go elsewhere. Even the member of staff who phoned me sounded embarassed! Stick to your usual recipe and standards . Disappointed! 😔

Have ordered from here a few times, food is alright - mostly handy to order and pay online, but won't be ordering again after a negative experience with a delivery driver this evening. Really angry man who made me feel intimated when at home alone. Avoid.

I’ve gave the place the benefit of the doubt time and time again unfortunately each time I’m still thinking the same if not worse! The place is a shambles the food is a disaster the beef curry couldn’t rip apart with my fingers let alone my teeth not to mention it was pink inside (RAW) !!!! they forget your items then leave you to wait over an hour for the missing items with no refund nothing yet I would’ve wasted £20 + it costs nothing to be nice and understanding to your customers. The gravy as well was extremely sweet which was odd! Personally I’d run a mile & avoid at all costs!!! There is LOTS of restaurants nearby don’t waste your money here, you’ll definitely regret it like I have done many times now unfortunately.

Got a pick up got home half the food not there, called to get it dropped off and that's been an hour I have been waiting , the rest of the food is stone cold. That's the 2nd time it's happened. But this was a birthday dinner for everyone. Won't be ordering again very very poor service

Wouldn't order from any other local Chinese takeaway. Food is so tasty, piping hot and delivered quickly. Good size portions too. We'll done China Unicorn. Keep up the great service

Place is pretty shabby. But the food is fantastic and the cost is excellent. Thanks for the best Chinese meal I’ve had in a long time. And your wee boy is very sweet ❤️

Extremely tough beef as you can see my finger is literally bright red pulling it and it’s still not moving! Some of it was pink inside! I honestly don’t know how this place stays open it’s a total joke of a takeaway they’ve yet to give me a meal that’s of any standards other than “horrific”!! Raw chewy beef I can break whatever apart that’s not right! I have strong feelings this place won’t be open much longer at the rate it going it will shut due to lack of customers or the fact they’ve gave somebody food poisoning! Even my cats could chew the beef in that curry!

I have gave this Chinesse the benefit of the doubt numerous times after other people have told me how nice it is. Unfortunately old habits die hard and its definitely not up to the standards of others in the area. I’ve ordered two meals from here in the last week first one was nice no complaints except a little wait for delivery but I was happy enough to wait. Tonight however was a total shambles!! Now when I place an order I order for my FULL family so it’s not a cheap meal. I ordered a chicken curry & fried rice & the chicken chow mien as well as salt & chilli chips to share. I get my delivery and there no rice so I call and was told it will be with you soon I stay in the next town for reference! I waited over an hour and 10 minutes for my rice to be delivered to me after my original meal had arrived!! No apology, no refund, nothing! What have I meant to do with fried rice over an hour later ? I’d could’ve walked there & back quicker and that’s not a word of a lie!! I call up to see if this is some kind of joke? But apparently not. Again no refund or attempt to make me another meal ? My meal was completely ruined it went freezing cold waiting on my rice coming! In the last week I’ve ordered almost £50 worth of food yet they couldn’t refund one meal or make another one for me? I will NEVER be back again and I certainly won’t be telling anyone else to order anything from here. Customer service is everything and I’m afraid you have absolutely none!

Have been ordering here for years when it's closed we have tried other restaurants but not as good as China unicorn their fried rice is amazing

Basin these stars on tonight's order was really disappointed usually everything is nice but the curry I got the chicken wasn't nice it was slimey and ordered chips and cheese for my son and this is what came about 3 bits of grated cheese he looked at it n walked away didn't even touch it looks like he was given the leftovers of someone else's order done think al be ordering again after this

the best chinese food in the area, highly reccomended. We generally use the takeaway for birthdays etc and have always had excellent service.

Got home order was wrong the curry was unedable was like water the chicken foo yung had ingredients I asked to be left out and phnd to day to staff for nothing but arrogance and abuse will never be bk!!!!!!

Got a Chinese from here as my normal Chinese restaurant was closed so thought I’d give here a go! Personally I don’t think it was anything special the gravy is extremely sweet which in gravy just doesn’t taste normal! The soup was very greasy as you’ll see in the photos. My curry was nice but I’d definitely not order anything else again.

Phoned now on five different occasions over the last five months constantly shut no reason ever given won't use again

been with mum today both had great meals the food is good but could do with a little care to the restaurant décor has seen better days, great if the place was open during the day at the weekends that would be good the place is highly popular every few mins you could hear the orders getting taken.

Great food, fast service, curry could be a little hotter, but that's just my taste ( you can't please everyone), the shop has recently been revamped, Second visit, chips where very cold & hard, I think left over from afternoon ( poor show)

Stringy dry chicken, they actually gave me pork. Spicy was not spicy. Soup delicious (the only reason for two stars). Will not order from here again. Just wished I'd read the other reviews. I think Chinese restaurants like this just don't care. Just give them the money and forget about the food. Let's see who we can fleece.

Had a bad experience from this place last night ordered food and me & my friend ended up really ill I was very sick and stomach cramps also the food was awful dry I now wish I had read the reviews before I ordered will Never be touching this Chinese again!! Discusting,

Great food at a reasonable price!

Placed on order on just eat . Was supposed to get free spring rolls added since my order was over £12. The spring rolls never arrived so I gave them a call the response I was given was "well what do you want me to do about it " I also asked why I was charged 1.50 each for cans of juice one which was PRICEMARKED at 59p and the other which was multi pack not for resale. I was told no manager was in that day and the bosses don't speak English. I eventually got my spring rolls an hour later (it was a Tuesday evening ) and I ate my dinner BUT once I got to the bottom there was a big fly in the bottom of the food ! I took photos and asked the driver to come back and collect it. The person on the phone didn't seem fussed and I never heard back from them.

Got delivery which took over an hour and when came portion size was so small never seen chow mei in smallest container not be back

This was my first time ordering from here and by god it will def be my last. Put order in at 6 still siting here at 7.00 and no delivery. Phoned them to be told "we are busy tonight but the driver has just picked up your delivery" when asked if she should have stated it was busy when I called so I could have had the option to phone else where she seemed to go mute and then give a half ass apology. Would never recommend them. My delivery finally turned up at 7.35

I decided to try this place as I have not in many years I fancied a meal but I was shocked to see what it's like now, the place is in a bad state of disrepair as you enter there is polysterene ceiling tiles broken which are potential fire hazzard, the banister is sticky and the stair carpet is very dirty leading into the dinning room like they did not care to clean it, the toilet to my right cistern is running making a noise as for the walls and the doors at the kitchen looked like they had not been washed they real manky with dirt, the chairs have stains on them which have not been cleaned also the ceiling tiles in the dinning room are lose also at the very back there is a patch of mold coming through so I walked out I wouldn't chance it eating here as the state of the place put me off.
