Jasmine House in North Ayrshire

Had given Jasmine House a wide berth for a long time as it was getting really bad, so then a few weeks ago I thought I'd give it another chance, and happily it had improved by then......until tonight, I honestly had the worst Chinese meal ever, the chicken in my chop suey was disgusting, it had the consistency of foam rubber and no flavour at all, the 'sauce' was like water too. Even my cat turned it's nose up at the chicken which felt like it had been soaking in water for a week, I couldn't eat a single piece of it, almost made me sick. No more chances Jasmine House -- I'm done !

I just wonder if they have a bad chef that takes turns at cooking that doesn't know how to cook food because other times I cannot fault it, when there are cooking batters or rice the rice is greasy also the batter is soggy and greasy that fills the kitchen roll when you dry it, it's like they do not have their oil hot enough. Then other times the meal is perfect and faultless but the money you have pay for the food and get rubbish sometimes is disappointing once was bad I had to throw it out.

We said we wouldn’t eat here again as it was awful last few times, but our son brought one in for dinner tonight. Ribs were like bones you would use for stock or animal consumption. 2” in size. (Absolute joke)I also got a Singapore chow mien and if there was any protein in it then I missed it. I did see 4 shrimps. Have warned family never to go here again.

Got a chicken curry and the chicken was black and pink inside!, spring rolls weren’t cooked right!, never ever again will I order from here!

I hadn’t used this Chinese for years as it was dreadful but thought after 10 years and with Royal Chef closed the night I really wanted Chinese I would give them another go. I wish I hadn’t. Nuff said.

We've been ordering collections and delivery from here for years. Sometimes the delivery time can be an hour but collection is 20 minutes. We have never had a bad meal from this place. The chicken chow mein, salt n chilli chicken balls, beef curry (with extra onions), prawn toasts, pancake rolls, to name a few are a household favourite. Prices are reasonable and in line with other local establishments.

I had to order from jasmine House due to a friends birthday request and was disappointed as expected. I always ordered my Chinese from jasmine House until 19 years ago when even the receptionist told me they were cooking all the worst bits if the chicken. Anyway, I ordered a chicken fried rice and the sauce it came in was amazing but as expected the chicken was chewy and covered in bits of skin. Please stop cooking the cheap bits of meat and go back to breast and I can promise you'll become what you once were. Otherwise it's a no from me!

Never had a bad takeaway from jasmine, hit and miss with delivery times but always worth the wait. 👌🏻👌🏻

Good varied menu. And their curry sauce ..... It's as though Mrs Wong had never left. The staff are very pleasant. And offer good advice on selecting your meal.

Had family meal delivered not one meal was good enough to eat all went in bin never again boak it was disgusting greasy beef was so chewy I would have been better off eating my work belt

Its been a looooong time since i got something i genuinely enjoyed from this take out. Honestly, i only use when necessary (like alot of the towns take aways). Used to be a treat ordering in. Now its a case of "Uh oh...not much in the fridge. Dang, ill need to order a take away" 😑 It doesnt stand out as being the worst in town...coz theyre all the same no. Sorry for the negativity......has to be said though.

Used for the first time and was impressed with the quality and quantity. Reasonable prices. Chow Mein particularly good.

Jasmin house has been in Kilbirnie for almost three decades, when Mr Wing was head chef the food was brilliant, the curry sauce was the best in Scotland. The Chicken chow mein was heavenly and his satay was so rich and tasty with lashings of peanut butter and coconut milk it was a tasty heart attack on a plate. Alas, Mr Wong left for Whitehaven and things began to slip from there. With a new assistant chef every year and Kwokie serving customers, the place began to slide alarmingly. If you had a genuine complaint you were treated like an idiot and refund was a word that Kwokie didn't understand. As an employee I watched customer after customer complain to Kwokie and after getting nowhere vow never to return. As Mrs Wong got older and with a revolving chef position it was only a matter of time before Mrs Wong chose to retire. Enter Bruce and May..... at first, they did take time to find their feet and put their own mark on the place. Gone were the days of burnt fried rice or over cooked chips, the food was hot and tasty and while it isn't a La carte standard it hits the spot. Okay so the curry sauce isn't a patch on Mr Wongs curry sauce but then again Mrs Wongs curry wasn't a patch on Mr Wongs food. Sue May worked the counter before moving to America, she knew how to deal with complaints, Sadly her brother wasn't cut from the same cloth. Eric is much better at dealing with complaints, the food is better now than before the place changed hands with one exception....the satay sauce. Mr and Mrs Wong made their own satay mix, Sadly something has been lost in translation, I miss a proper jasmin house satay. Other than that, a definite improvement.

Used to get takeaway from here all the time as loved it, but have recently moved back to the area and was not sure wether to order from here again after hearing it had changed hands, but should not have worried, the food was just as good as it used to be!! It was a lot faster than it used to be, nice hot food, and the BBQ spare ribs sauce is just the best!! Only thing was the chips were not nice, but will definitely order again next time we get a takeaway!!

I regularly ordered from this restaurant when I moved down here some 10 years ago and really enjoyed the food in fact some of my friends when visiting often took a take away curry from jasmine house however since the change of owners the food has gone downhill. The curries leave u with such a dry mouth and often heartburn and the fried rice never tastes fresh. My partner usually takes a sweet n sour or a schezuan but even he's gone off the food too. My advice is stay clear better ordering a Chinese from Beith Palace

We had a big family takeaway from here and found the found really tasty and amazingly good value. Big portions and great chicken curry.

I ordered the sweet and sour last Saturday night, Never again I was sick as a dog the batter was cooked in unfresh oil, dramatically gone downhill.

La calidad cocinados muy recomendada la mejor comida china en Ayrshire, mejora definitivo a la salsa dulce y amarga, excelente tiempo de entrega hasta el momento es la comida entrega a la puerta, recomendable si desean una comida para llevar en cualquier día de la semana y fines!.

really cleaned up its act in 2015. lovely food served hot and on time. would recommend this to anyone. standards are good so keep up the good work and don't let it slip.

El muchacho que trabaja en la recepción es una de las personas más maleducadas que encontré. Pedí una entrega y me dijeron que 45 minutos ... después de 1 h 30 minutos mi comida llegó, hacía frío, no fue posible picante como pedimos, el pollo estaba seco y duro, y lo peor de todo es que la salsa curry era muy salada!

always been there for good food to go.especialy when we are celabrateing a family event eg birthday get to tether
