The lady working on the evening of our visit was really friendly and professional, we were served promptly without being rushed both for our drinks and food orders, which came in good time and was of great quality.

The last lunch we had here a few weeks ago was dire ,chips were cold and soggy the rasher of bacon on the hunters chicken was cold and chewy, no fish or scampi available as they had a fryer breakdown and no contract standby replacement, no heating anywhere in the building not even an electric fire as a standby, the staff were sitting around with feet up on the bar stools not a good first appearance at all and best of all no welcome hello, very shody.

Beautiful pub. A lovely welcome by the staff. Very helpful and understanding as we were running 15 mins late. Our first visit in area. Food was lovely and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Lovely food and amazing service by Hazel who made every effort to help us especially with our Autistic son couldn't recommend her enough, 100% worth a visit if your in the area.

What has happened here, was lovely for Lunchtime meals and a pint, a real treat for me Changed so much in a few weeks. Should of know better as there was on one in there , freezing cold and a member of staff had there feet up on a stool at the bar. Quality of food was so far away from what it has been in the past. We won't be interested in going back. Felt like a youth hostel. Did tell the Brewery, but have not been bothered to reply. So how do I contact you, which way please

We had a lovely meal out at the Sparkford in for my daughter’s birthday. The food was delicious and Haley provided amazing service and warm welcome to us all! We will be back very soon.

Fantastic local pub with great atmosphere and amazing service from Hayley and the team. Great food and excellent choice of beers. Cracking area beyond the bar with pool table, darts and jukebox to keep you entertained. I visited with a group of friends and were made to feel incredibly welcome, having never been before. I would def visit again when I’m next in the area.

I didn't eat at the pub but I stayed in one of the rooms, which was scruffy, not particularly clean and suffered a lot of noise from the road. No breakfast either. Shame because it's a lovely building overall.

Fabulous steak pie at a good price. Chips were plentiful and crunchy. Mac and cheese nice size and came with salad and garlic bread which was nice. However the bbq sauce over it was a bit strange. Would def come again.

Ate dinner and spent the night in their fabulous and spacious guest rooms - fantastic value and highly recommended 👍

Really nice pub with friendly staff and good parking, just off the A303 in Sparkford. Food was fine, but would have preferred home style sausages with mash and gravy, rather than catering ones. But, lovely people, nice warm pub and so much better than stopping at a fast food place!! Recommended to break your journey.

We had not been for 40 years since we had our wedding reception there. Food was a little underwhelming tbh and interaction minimal. Shame as we were looking forward to seeing the old place again but happy we went.

country pub owned by Marston brewery. food was average sadly but it was a quick lunch.

We came for the adult panto and decided to get a bite to eat afterwards. The staff were really nice and helpful and managed to fit us in even though all the other tables were booked. Food was fantastic and a great price. Definitely will be back!

We stopped her for 1 night en route back to Cornwall on the spur of the moment. The landlady Louise and her lovely sister Hayley couldn’t have made us more welcome despite the fact they were busy with a Xmas party. Checked us in with minimum fuss and squeezed us in for dinner. The food and wine were excellent and reasonably priced. Won’t hesitate to stay again as a half way stop over when we travel up and down between Yorkshire and Cornwall. Located just off the A303. Our standard double room was an excellent size and included a shower and a bath and there was also a fridge in the room. The price for the night was very competitive.

We were greeted by Hayley at the bar who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our visit at The Sparkford Inn. We ate dinner in the restaurant area which was very clean and inviting. Hayley informed us that as well as the regular menu there was also a carvery which we decided to have. Everything was extremely tasty and hot, the meat was lovely and tender and the yorkshire puddings were huge. Hayley checked in regularly to make sure everything was ok with our meals. We both enjoyed a dessert too and then went thru to the hall to watch Sinderella an Adult Panto which was hysterically funny. All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and look forward to coming back soon.

Pleasant and friendly staff. Food basic pub fayre. Part of the Marstons group. I don’t think the main courses are particularly good value. Small portions and overpriced. Much the same as most pub food today. Pub has a tired feel to it.

We stayed for 1 night after visiting Haynes motor museum, room was clean and cosy. Not a negative point just something to be aware of but there was no hot water by the taps in our room. Food was great and service at the restaurant was outstanding.

We stopped off after visiting the nearby motor museum as it was lunchtime, the menu and specials were all great we all had something different and all of our food was delicious and cooked to order. An absolute treat, the lady was extremely nice and the drinks were delicious too.

My food was OK but the wife's main was obviously a microwaved baked potato that was red hot in the middle and cool at the outsides. Soup was good but why do people put Pilau rice with Chilli con carne.

Stayed overnight and was very happy with the room. Clean, spacious and well-maintained. Despite having a large wedding group in, the staff were able to serve us dinner with very little wait. The food was variable - I really enjoyed the scampi, though one friend's nachos were cold, and another's burger was pretty small.

Attended to have lunch, disappointed, portions were tiny, had burger, was overcooked and bacon far too crispy, chips were overcooked. Waitress was moody and not helpful.

Great place to go for a few drinks with friends, friendly staff and very nice pub. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This is the worst B&B in the uk. Firstly you get NO BREAKFAST. We had not been in the Inn for 5 minutes before a full upfont payment for 2 nights was demanded. The Inn is totally understaffed and the Dinner Menu is very limited. Fortunately the Bed was comfortable.

Amazing food and quality service. Staff are more than helpful and check in to ensure your meal is up to standard. We arrived minutes after the pubs 12 noon kitchen opening time, and were served quickly. Food was hot and delicious. Also a large selection of dishes 👍

Missed main meal and missing items on mixed grills.

Food was OK. 3 out of 6 food orders not as expected. i.e. no eggs on mixed grill as they'd run out, didn't tell us only when we raised it. No alternative item offered and no reduction in price. Drinks expensive.

I attended an event there. The event room was very nice. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We met with friends for lunch. Some pretty good food choices and some nice Specials. They do have a GF menu (not mentioned on their website) but they admit to possible cross contamination. There were some dairy free puddings available. The staff were pleasant and efficient with our service. Not a massive selection of draft beers. Some 0% bottled beer/cider and a fair selection of other soft options. There are tables outside too.

Lovely old pub, very welcoming and homely. Excellent meals. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Beer garden kept well and easily accessible.

Good room, clean, big comfortable bed, but very hot bedroom with no fan provided. No breakfast provided. Evening meal was OK but took forever to come.

For me, this is a 3.5 star place, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but nothing special. Food very reasonably priced and helpful staff. It is a perfect location to break in a long drive to Devon

We felt really sorry for the girl behind the bar as she was having to serve bar customers with drinks, take food orders, bring food out & clear tables etc. She was having to do everything other than cook! The food was lovely but not very hot but I wonder if this was due to only having one member of staff trying to get food out. There really needed to be another member of staff to help out with the food side of things. We were a table of 12 & had pre-booked so it’s not like we weren’t expected. We had to order at the bar which meant our food orders went in at different times so maybe this was why the food was cold. It’s a real shame as the food was lovely it was just marred by the lack of staff. Well done to the girl working who maintained her cool!

18th May Table booked for 12, place pretty much empty on arrival, no table service provided?? Pretty much ignored throughout visit!! Food was OK, but everything was overcooked and dry:0( Sauces were very small and inadequate. Best part of the meal was the desserts :0) Would not return.

What a surprise!! Never been here before but will certainly be back!! There is quite an extensive menu that caters for most dietary preferences so you shouldn't really be stuck for something to eat, and based on what we had, whatever you get should be pretty darn good. We rocked up on a Monday and the carpark was empty and I had the uneasy feeling that it was closed but was delighted to find it open with some diners already in situ. We were greeted by a lovely young lady, who's name I didn't get, but she was very welcoming and competent and dealt with us in a very warm and professional manner. It was all in all a very pleasant experience and one that we will hopefully be repeating in the near future.

We held our wedding at Sparkford Inn. Louise (the Manager) and Simon (Chef) were amazing and really went above and beyond to make our day really special. We have returned exactly a year later to celebrate our first Anniversary. As before, Louise and Simon were wonderfull as were the newer staff, Alison and Izzy, going the extra mile to make the day memorable. Lovely food and drink and beautiful bedrooms.

Comfy pub & both the staff & clientele were really friendly. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny day so sat outside in the beer garden. There’s a games room with a pool table, dart board & boxed games. Just a 5 minute walk from Long Hazel Park where we were staying in our motorhome

Not very good. 🫤 Well…the Beef for the roast was not good. Half of my x2 although, thin, slices were un-chewable. Should have stuck with ‘just’ Turkey. Surprisingly, there was only X1 green veg which were Sprouts! (If I’m not mistaken, more people DON’T like them than do.) A LARGE glass of Wine is at most…medium. Would we return? Not anytime soon. Xx

A lovely carvery had on Sunday. It was still hot and very tasty. Would like to have been offered 3 meats instead of 2 for £12.99. The peas were abit hard for me but everyone has different cooking preferences so this wasn’t a deal breaker. A good range of veg choice available. Would def go again and nice to have it available right on the doorstep. The service received by Kylie, the chef and Sky was friendly professional and welcoming. Thank u

Came here for dinner last night, let me say it was amazing!! The service was way above my expectations, Louise our server was so kind and helpful, she made sure all our needs were looked after. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the cowboy burger. Both looked good and tasted even better. They were even able to tailor my partners burger to his fussy eating needs😅. We were so full but were easily persuaded to try their desserts, the salted caramel cookie brownie was to die for!!! Honestly couldn’t recommend this place more, very friendly warm atmosphere with lovely staff!!

The food was amazing, i came with my mum, service was absolutely great, there was a great selection of alcohol on the bar and louise looked after us very well during our meal i had the ultimate chicken burger which was cooked to perfection i very much enjoyed my whole experience.

Came in for a meal the steak was lovely the service was excellent the staff couldn’t do enough to help me I will definitely be returning next time I’m in the area also noticed they rent out rooms and I took a look at the function room and was really surprised at how good it looked

Me and some friends came to The Sparkford Inn for the drag night last night and oh what a night. He was fabulous and so much fun. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and were joining in with all the fun. We also had dinner before hand which was so tasty and came out in such god time considering how busy it looked. I really enjoyed the nachos so much flavour. Thank you again to everyone at The Sparkford for such a fantastic night. We hope you out more nights on like this.

We came here for Mother's Day with our family. We had a great Sunday roast. The Carvery was fantastic 3 choices of meat. Lots of veg roast potatoes, Simon. The server on the Carvey was so good and welcoming. We will definitely come again.

We came here for carvery. Food was fantastic three choices of meat, two choices of potato lots of veg, great choice of sauces. The staff were great, very friendly and very welcoming lots of locals in the bar having drinks and it was a really welcoming place to come, we will definitely be back

We came for sunday lunch it was carcery stule and it was so nice we will definitely come again we all really enjoyed it , we saw posters for ecents there looks like the place is getting busier we will be going to some of them as they have lots on so looking forward to it
