Worst Costa I've ever visited. The staff was extremely slow and effortless. I had to wait for +30 mins for the girl to serve 4 customers, they messed up someone's order too. And to top it up I had to pay cash, which wouldn't be a problem since the bank is across the street. But getting back at the end of the line to wait another awful 30mins for the girls slowly serve the new line of customers. No thanks, I rather go Eleos. I hope this Costa manager have a word with the employees... Because they're completely and ultimately UNPROFESSIONAL.

5 of us came in for a drink and a small bite to eat. 4 of the drinks we wanted to order were out of stock and the staff were rude and unapologetic about it. Very disappointing.

I'm sure the coffee cups are too big! Odd comment, but my flat white didn't have it's usual "bite", and seemed somewhat diluted by the volume of liquid.(?)

Shabby , service not great , forgot the syrup in my latte . Another customer overcharged. Won't go there again.

Went with my little one and he was struggling to remember the name of what he wanted, the young lady Tegan spend few minutes and few smiles to help him remember the name of the drink. Fabulous welcoming every time we are coming to Costa Chard. Nice to see stuff like this nowadays.

Worst americano I have ever had

On arrival a lady was waiting before me who hadn't been served. No one behind the counter. We were waiting over 5 minutes. Then a member of staff saw us out the back then walked off. She then came out and started wiping table. I asked if we could be served and she wiped another table then finally said she didn't realise we hadn't been served. Only 4 people in the shop. I won't be returned. Awful service.

Couldn't decide what too have (I still couldn't, had same but lovely young lady serving on Saturday choice a syrup for me as a surprise lol it was perfect and her lovely jolly polite manner was on point, sorry didn't get her name but I shall. Thank you all was brilliant 😊

Service was very slow as it seemed to be only 1 person working g behind the counter. Another young lady was that was working there was just walking around clearing a few tables when there were at least 9 people waiting. Eventually got our drinks and one of the lids yo the frappe was not put on properly and consequently spilt all over my daughters trousers, mentioned this when asking for some paper towels to be told "oh well it happens occasionally"! Feel like this shop has gone down hill drastically!

Popped in around 7.30am, was served efficiently and really enjoyed the conversation with the member of staff.

Went in with my 2 young kids and my little girl touched the counter,( she's 6) the man behind the counter was extremley rude and abrupt and told her not to do this, I understand hygiene but it wasn't like she had dirty hands and was running her hands along it all, she literally touched it like u naturally might do, have had this a couple of times now with 1 certain man that works there, haven't been impressed recently with there customer service, Ilminster is much friendlier!!! He also was very rude to another customer and said they couldn't sit at a certain end of the cafe even though they wernt closing for an hour and a half, it wasn't very welcoming at all!

Definitely not baby friendly after I had tucked in my pram out of the aisle I was told by the male member of staff behind the counter to move somewhere else so not to block the aisle which I wasn't anyway. Place was empty no surprise. Found a more welcoming friendly cafe couple of doors down

This place is great. The staff are really lovely. I stop in here for just under an hour on the Yeovil service run

Very rude staff, who we’re argumentative when the coffee was made with one shot of coffee instead of three. Staff then said that’s because of the training that they have to make it like that. Do the staff not have training regarding customer service? Won’t be going to costa again!

I visited costa the other day, I was served by a lady called Tegan. She was rude, blunt, uninterested and clearly didn’t want to be there. They way she spoke to customers and the people she works with is disgusting. She needs to find a job where she doesn’t need to speak to people, if she has no people skills. Half the time she was on her phone.

I was in the store today and saw to workers bring in a lot of alcohol at 17:30 and what I can imagine beer that’s not gluten free be put into a milk fridge honestly disgusted at this store

Our first visit to Chard Costa. Under staffed, uninterested staff. The bubbish bin (in full view) was spilling over, the tables were uncleared. They need someone in charge to steer that ship - without a shadow of a doubt. However, the coffee was delish!

I go to alot of Costa coffee shops,chard is the best for cappachino, excellent.The staff are always happy and polite.Definatelythe one to go to in the west country

Ordered a toastie and coffee on the app to click and collect. Couldn’t have been easier. Went in and it was all ready on the click and collect counter which was clearly signed on the counter. Impressed!

Brilliant staff and very friendly/ helpful

Visited with my children for a treat after school, literally no customers at the front section of the store and every table was covered in trays, mugs and glasses. The floor was filthy too. We had to move trays to sit down. Two members of staff behind the counter and one girl deciding it was better to replace the labels in the fridge that clean the tables / floor etc. I could understand if it was busy, but it wasn’t. The cake counter was almost empty and the same for the fridge too. Definitely gone down hill massively. The staff are always miserable and you almost feel like a pain for ordering sometimes, won’t be returning in a hurry!!

Seriously! took a chance as nothing else was open, got the new roast at extra cost as it was supposed to have a fuller flavour, got an extra shot for good measure, low and behold, still a pitiful weak taste, not sure what it tastes of but it definitely isn't coffee. Should have listened to my gut instinct, what did I expect from the macdonalds of the coffee world.

I visited a few months ago and found it was understaffed unhappy and stupid waiting times and staff stood around looking miserable. I visited again this week and found such a difference. It is under clear new management with good leadership it seems. Well stocked clean and happy staff. Would recommend to anyone.

Not the best costa we've been to. It felt run down. We only had coffee's

Under new management this place is a toxic hell hole. Staff leaving in their droves due to bullying, not uncommon to see staff in tears since the new Manager started. I overheard a manager absolutely destroying a member of staff last week, the most appalling language used, I left without buying anything and after talking to work colleagues I now understand they also experienced the same thing two weeks ago! Used to be a nice place to grab coffee on my lunch break but now it’s unrecognisable, the staff are unhappy, most have left, customers are all talking about how awful it is, there’s always long waits because they don’t have enough staff, and the poor staff they do have are so rushed off their feet and over stretched as a customer you feel mean even asking them for an order. Really appalling place now.

Avoid. Used to be such a lovely place to visit, now it’s totally different. Hugely understaffed and understocked too. Cake cabinet always bare, staff always stressed and very rude and short tempered because of it. Tables are always grubby and the floor is filthy. Myself and my friend Waited 20 minutes in the queue before giving up and going elsewhere, the poor girl was completely on her own with a queue halfway down the shop at 9:15 in the morning.

Blatantly rude workers very sarcastic and disrespectful to me and my 12 year old sister would never come here again!!!

Poor service ..,and when I deciding to leave after waiting over 15 min just to pay for a juice I ended up getting attacked by a member of staff telling me off for leaving the drink in the counter! Best to give that mace a miss!

I went in here for the first time today, my brother goes in here a lot as lives near by, the cappuccinos were good.. My brother is disabled and I would like to say thank you to the two girls for looking after him and having a giggle with him, so good service all round

No idea what service is like because we got there an hour before closing and they said they were closing an hour early so we only had 4 minutes. We won't bother trying again

Absolutely filthy in every way. Tables covered in grime, left over rubbish on most tables, glasses and cups filthy, teapots revolting, dirty trays you name it. Worse, something horrible on the loo floor that had been there for ages. I complained about my dirty mug, but was told it was ‘perfectly clean!’ We wanted out but we needed a drink, we would never go back. Costa, you need to address this with a deep clean.

Rude staff, didn’t even order. My local Costa that I’ve used countless times, won’t be visiting again!

Great Dog's are Welcome inside (Front only) Friendly Staff, Clean, limited food for Vegans, do Milk alternatives available, drink's are nice, recommend giving them a try.

Excellent service until the bloke in front asks for 7 drinks all extra hot with random shots. Should be a separate queue for these people lol

I would not recommend going to this costa. This evening I went in for a drink and to say that the workers were rude would be an understatement. I sat down waiting for our friend to come with our drinks when I was asked to move by a worker. This was a request that I didn’t mind doing but the tone in which she used with me was completely and utterly rude and condescending for no reason. Why she had to use such tone for a simple request I do not know. This is n it the first time that I have had a problem with this costa shop. The staff there just seems to be ones who do not know the meaning of work. Half of the time they spend more time gossiping and chatting with each other that you are sometimes waiting 15-20 minutes for your drink and if it is a hot drink it is usually nearly cold by the time that you get it. I do not recommend this costa and will not be returning

I was in this evening. I sat down in my seat and was peacefully waiting for my friend to come with our drinks. I was approached by one of the workers there who asked me to move. I had no issue in moving but my issue was the tone in which she used towards me. It was rude and condescending. Something no customer should have to deal with. This isn’t the first time that I have had problems with this Costa. For this is my local one and I frequent it with my friends quite often. The staff needs to be better as they seem to spend more time gossiping with each other then doing there job. On one occasion there was a few kids from the local school who were messing with the disabled button that they have. I understand that this is frustrating but I do not believe that shouting across the cafe to them to stop was going to do anything. They clearly do not know how handle these sorts of situations. Because of this is do not recommend anyone go to this costa in particular. I am will no longer be going there.

We had a nice cake and coffee plus service was good, but unfortunately no oat milk :(

Whatever you do, don’t expect your drinks in less than 10-15 minutes. They are SO slow. Every time we go in it’s the same. Almost quicker to drive to Honiton Starbucks to be honest.

Food and the drinks and staff was great

Coffee great as always, but this has to be the slowest Costa I’ve visited. 20 minutes waiting for to be served and there were only 2 customers in front of me! The lady behind me had to wait a further 10 minutes to be served....

Go here regularly and have never experienced bad service like today. Rude staff who didn’t seem interested in taking our order let alone be polite.

The two staff in today tried to cope with the very long queue. It took over 25 mins to put the order in and then the assistant manager was huffing and puffing in a very unprofessional way. It's a Saturday. You know it'll be busy. On the plus side the flat white was very very good

Like Costas food and drink but normally hate the service but this experience was completely different. Run by efficient and friendly staff with nothing too much trouble. Recommended

The staff and customer service was very good. Great choice of drinks cake's etc. The only criticism was the hygiene and cleanliness of the toilets. The stained toilet and grime buildup under tap let this facility down. I hope the hygiene behind the counter is...

Nice and polite staff. Very good coffee as is the case with Costa. Why four stars? Well, there's better coffee around, and I'm sure that Costa with all their money could develop a smoother blend. We live in hope.

At least 20 people inside only 1 person serving, poor aervice

Don't go in anytime less than half an hour before closing for a coffee to drink in as you will be made to feel unwelcome and an inconvenience. I even witnessed the staff putting cakes into bags for a customer using bare hands and no hand washing first, not good in a pandemic.

Ive been to this place lots recently but this time the cups were barely half full and my friends after 8 hot chocolate had no mint or sprinkles or anything to distinguish it from a normal hot chocolate

Good coffee, made great by the staff who were really helpful. You can sit down but it has limited seating at the moment.

I was disappointed that they did not have the same standard of hygiene that I experienced in Taunton. I did not feel as safe and would not eat in for the time beginning. Coffee and food was as usual.

Really nice and cosy place. Beautifully decorated inside and lots of different drinks and foods to choose from from hot to cold drinks aswell as multiple treats to buy. Not an expensive place. I really recommend!
