Had great evening with the family. Food was out of this world. The team working were friendly and inviting. Had a great laugh

Great place to eat. I live close by and when there last Saturday on a whim. We hadn’t booked, but the manager got us a table straight away. The food and service were great. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Live music was a nice touch. I had the calamari to start and the veal escalope for main. My partner had the N duja gnocchi (I tried it, its very good) The warm cookie desert is to die for. Will be back there soon.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Spaghetti Tree for years, but our recent visit for my friend’s birthday was incredibly disappointing. All three of us received incorrect dishes, but the most concerning issue was that my friend, who has celiac disease, was served non-gluten-free pasta. Despite raising our concerns, the staff initially dismissed them, only to later confirm she had indeed been given the wrong dish. This was a serious mistake…if she had eaten it, she could have been hospitalised. After the mix-up, we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for our meals. When we asked if anything could be done to acknowledge the inconvenience, the waiter told us a 20% discount had been applied, but this turned out to be the standard weekday offer, not a goodwill gesture. The only other compensation offered was removing the service charge, which is optional anyway. I emailed the restaurant afterward and received an automated response saying I’d hear back within 72 hours. It’s now been longer than that, and I’ve had no response. Having had great experiences here in the past, I expected better service and accountability. This visit left us disappointed, and I hope the restaurant takes feedback like this seriously to improve customer care.

Delicious food and amazing live music too

We went just before Christmas with friends. We had booked months in advance but were rushed from the second we got there. The waiter/managers words 'I don't want to be having to chase you off the table' like it is our fault they overbooked! Took ages to bring out the food, we had to constantly chase them for drinks. We couldn't order desert because we were kicked off the table, so we sat at the bar and looked at the table remain empty for over an hour. We were not happy at all Overpriced and underwhelming. Stagg don't know which way is up. Concidering how expensive it is I expected far better.

Had a great meal there last night. N’Duja gnocchi was incredible. Atmosphere marked at three as it was very quiet, but there’s nothing they can do about that. Staff excellent and really friendly, and make awesome cocktails. I’m so pleased they reopened. Can’t wait for the garden to be open again in the summer.

30% of our table consisted of professional chefs, one of which works at a Michelin star restaurant. Who’s professional opinion, a number of the dishes didn’t taste freshly cooked and were not heated thoroughly to the require safe standards. We thoroughly enjoyed our starters and thought we were in for a good meal. For our mains, we all had a variety of dishes including pizzas, pastas, salads and fish dishes in which none of us were happy. One of our group ordered the mussels and was not given additional crockery to dispose of the shells.

Warning!!! Check before you book. No mention of non-refundable deposit on website. Only after clicked on link and booked via opentable did it say non-refundable in confirmation email. Gave 8 days notice that I needed to cancel the table and they kept £80 in deposit. Could understand if I cancelled on the day or day before, but 8 days before, does not warrant keeping a deposit to me. No other restaurants I know do this in warlingham, Caterham or Oxted. Will never book or return there ever again! Hope they enjoyed the £80 for providing absolutely nothing! I also spent nearly 3 weeks trying to get someone to respond about the issue.

We tried to like it but will never be back. Awful food. Chicken parmesan soggy as if it was microwaved. (it probably was) A real shame because the place looks good but you typically go to a restaurant for the food and not to look at the decor.

My daughter arranged my 70th to be held here last night. The service was impecable as was the service. We all had a wonderful evening thank you.so much 🥰

Went here with the family for an evening meal a few days after Christmas. The food was phenomenal and cannot recommend enough! Be sure to get the ribs to start; they literally fall off the bone. The General Manager (Joey) was hospitable and couldn’t have done enough for us. Can’t wait to come back :)

My sister and I visited the restaurant last night. It was clean, there was a nice atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We ordered a shared bread to start and a main meal each with a bottle of wine. My sister’s meal was described as a ‘supreme breast of chicken’ but she was served what we think was a thigh on the bone. We didn’t highlight this to the waiter as she still enjoyed the food but she was a little disappointed. (This is the only reason why I didn’t rate 5 stars on this review) I had salmon which was cooked to perfection with delicious potatoes and vegetables. We both ate all of our food and were satisfied with the quality and service. Overall we had a really nice evening and would definitely visit again.

Went here yesterday evening, party of 6 of us. Felt like we were being watched the whole time by staff. Only have 1 steak left, pizza was average and carbonara had very undercooked pasta. Was very overpriced aswell. Anyway, we got given the desert menu to look through, was then told we can't have pudding as our time was up. We had 2 hours, but they only gave up 1 hour 30 mins. Will not be going back. It's not worth the price. I would recommend Doolalis in Hamsey Green.

This review is of Spaghetti Tree in Shirley. Nice place, staff were attentive and friendly. Over priced for basic pasta dishes and the prices of wine were high. My wife had lamb shank which was tough and tasteless. Why is it so hard to find good food for a reasonable price these days?

It was a year ago my husband & I visited just before the dreadful fire but I’ve just read the awful reviews from some people & just had to react. We went for lunch on a lovely summer day & sat in the garden, it was beautiful with a lovely bar at the end & pretty little lights all around. I had some kind of seafood pasta & a lovely glass of wine & it was perfect. It’s sad it seems to have some bad reviews because we loved it & would have returned. Keeping our fingers crossed that it can re open soon

My partner asked why are you only telling us to remove our hat now?. if you would’ve asked us when we came in, we would’ve happily gone to the pub next door, but nobody said anything we told you we had a party of four and you sat us down in the front window. my partner reluctantly took it off and was uncomfortable for the rest of the evening because she hadn’t done her hair as she would’ve liked to have it done. They told us that we either need to move further down in the restaurant around the back where nobody else was, or we could stay where we was by the window if she removed her Hat, there was only three tables with guests in the whole restaurant. The food wasn’t that good either, and I think we will never go back there again after this experience. We have been there before but certainly won’t be going back again.

Four of us had lunch at The Spaghetti Tree , Warlingham. Some had ordered pasta which arrived as small portions in large plates. The fried calamari, was the cheap off cuts and not the calamari rings as one would have expected and for the price paid! Disappointed.

Visited for my daughters birthday. Disappointed is an understatement. Bland overpriced food, very slow service. Such a shame because it's a beautiful restaurant.

When coming into the establishment I was greeted by welcoming and friendly staff, the owner took us directly to our table. Our order was taken straight away, super quick service when ordering our food. The food came had an outstanding finish, everything on our plate was absolutely amazing. The new summer menu was incredible. Staff came over to check we were okay with our food & drink. The music, atmosphere and service is amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening throughout. I can't thank the staff and the owners enough for their welcoming service... wonderful to see a business ran by woman ran so well. Girl power!

Terrible restaurant awful service We had booked for a birthday night out We were seated late for our booking and lead to a table in the garden . We were left for a least 10 minutes before we were given menus and left again We did not get to place our orders until 8:30 (we were seated at 8 even though table booked for 7:45) We order starters and mains and drinks The drink didn’t even arrive until we asked again The starters were poor the mains were bland . You should not have to ask several times for your food and drink The waiting staff were inexperienced and that showed all the way through our evening As the garden was getting cold we went to go inside There was no one to discuss this with as the staff were nowhere to be seen Amazingly someone who seemed senior then stopped us and said we can t go inside due to payment systems . But he relented and allowed us to go inside (as if were were going to run off ) Avoid this place When the food and service are poor they should not call themselves a restaurant I assume all the instagram ready areas bouncers at the door should have been a warning. IF YOU ENJOY GOOD FOOD & SERVICE DO NOT GO TO THE SPAGHETTI TREE

What a shame! We had a table in the garden area, the seating was lovely with lights all around, the food was quite nice…. But the service was terrible. We asked for tomato sauce for Childs chips three times, ice cream was served without a spoon, kids were trying to eat it with a fork. Cocktails and drinks were left on the bar without being brought to the table for ages. We arrived at 7.20 for our 7.30 table and We left at about 10.10pm and no order had been taken for dessert. (For the adults). We had paid the £35 for set menu but it wasn’t even completed, we were in a large party of people, so didn’t want to complain and ruin a birthday celebration. But had I have been just dining with my family I would have definately made a complaint. For this reason I won’t be recommending this restaurant. Which is such a shame because they could be brilliant! My sons cocktail had nothing but ice and was gone In three mouthfuls, he did mention this to the waiter, who just grunted. I think with some experienced waiting staff this place would be a lot better.

It was great to find parking outside as normally this is quite hard. Booking was very easy and it was also easy to change the booking. The service was very good, very polite and quite fast. The food was okay, not great But some in the party thought it was lovely. I think they need to market it as either a restaurant or a bar, because the table next to us were effing and blinding, which, when you are there with children can be inappropriate. It was actually very expensive for what we had at over £130 for four starters and four mains with no alcohol The umbrellas were absolutely filthy and it looks like it hasn’t been particularly well cared for. This place could be truly amazing as it was when we first went just after Covid. They were heaters on, but you couldn’t feel any heat at all. Not sure I would visit again in all honesty .

OK. Felt like we were going into a nightclub on entry with the heavies on the door, not really the norm on entering a restaurant. Just OK food. Not very fast service, attempts to be attentive but didn't feel the staff had great people skills sadly. Not much flavour to the food. Heat lamps switched off in the garden after a while yet that was where we were seated. I had a funny turn nearly fainted, only had 3 drinks so not drunk. We then cancelled a drink order and decided to leave, staff were told repeatedly that i was ill so will be leaving and to cancel and yet when we went to the bar to settle up they were argumentitive about the drinks that were cancelled. Won't hurry back.

Overall, myself and my Husband were not impressed. He accidentally booked a table for the outdoor area. Fair enough - that is his mistake. Upon arriving the host confirmed this with us - I was surprised and asked if there was anything inside. The mixed raced young lady who was hosting laughed at me and said "no, we are fully booked". I asked if it was warm outside... Now this may seem, at first blush, to be a stupid question but considering the weather isn't exactly 30 degree heat, one would have assumed she knew I was meaning whether there were heaters out there... Instead she made a sarcastic remark and said "it's same weather out the front, as it is at the back". Not particularly the response I am expecting. And considering she then tacked onto the end of her sentence that there are heaters in the umbrellas, she knew exactly what I meant. So, whether she thought she was being funny, or whether she as purposefully being obnoxious I am not sure but it was not welcomed and for the sake of clarity, it was rude and uncalled for! Moving on.. the heaters she referred to were 4 small heaters positioned under a very large umbrella which did little to nothing to make a difference to the harsh wind! Anyway... a meal for 2 consisting of only mains, 2 cokes and a pint of peroni set me back £52.80. Make sure to double check your receipt! I didn't check and they kindly whacked a service charge on there! The peroni itself was £7.00 - I expect those sort of prices in central London! Not in a village on the outskirts of Surrey! The food was average. The pesto pappardelle was nice, slightly too salty for my liking but the portion was very small, despite being £16.50! Overall, for our first time trying this place, it was a poor experience. I asked for a VAT receipt and was told that the VAT number at the top of the receipt was sufficient for VAT purposes. It isn't! In summary, the host was rude and obnoxious. The rest of the staff were pleasant and nice to engage with. The food was average but overpriced, as were the drinks. We won't be returning.

Once you had true Italian food you know it's not it. Pasta sauce tasted like dolmio not the fresh tomatoes sauce that it should be. Meatballs tasted like cheap meat. Couldn't finish my dish. Pizza was ok, 6/10, cheese was a bit weird. Such a beautiful place with a lot of potential, but needs to improve the food.

Service was good but the food I had was average, the pasta with clams was extremely oily.

Visited the Spaghetti Tree on Saturday with my friend for lunch. The front of house member of staff who greeted us, let the side down badly. The food was fabulous as always and the waiters, smiley, friendly and approachable. The front of house lady, who showed us to our table, didn’t smile at all and made us feel uncomfortable when we asked her about the wines and if we could try one before ordering. She did not make us feel welcome at all. They definitely need back the original lady who greeted you when they first opened, she was lovely, smiley and nothing was too much trouble. Great place but the initial greeting needs to be by someone who seems happy to be there!

We had been planning to visit the Warlingham Spaghetti Tree for a while and am pleased to say that it was worth the wait. A very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival and the service was very good throughout the meal/evening. The restaurant has an interesting décor that makes the restaurant feel like you could be anywhere. I can only speak for the evening we attended but our fellow diners were a nice mixture of small and medium sized groups who all looked like they were enjoying themselves. A very friendly atmosphere was helped by the live music around 8pm onwards with a mixture of 90’s and 80’s upbeat classics and some ballads as well. All the staff were very friendly and attentive making sure we our glass was full and the time between courses was just about right clearing away our empty plates from each course once we had finished. The food was good and the menu provides a good selection of Italian classics. The drinks menu has plenty of cocktails and the wine list was uncomplicated and would think caters for most tastes. If you are looking for somewhere you can enjoy good food, nice drinks, attentive service and a lively atmosphere then I would have no problems recommending this restaurant. I think the only caveat I would put on this review is that if you are looking for a more romantic and intimate experience then perhaps visit mid week. One of the couples on a table adjacent to ours were not expecting the atmosphere to be quite as lively and not sure they were enjoying the experience as much as the majority.

Very welcoming. Came for food and drinks and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The owner even came over and was lovely. She answered all questions we had about the menu and the story behind them opening the restaurant was amazing. Very happy they got through the lockdown period and are thriving as what we could see on the night. The music was great and the cocktails were amazing. Will deffo be coming back! Thank you to all the staff especially James for the amazing cocktails and drinks deffo the best we've tasted for a while.

Reserved the table and realised that I’m working so call back straight away and they didn’t pick up, left message few times anyway They charge me for £20 and when I called them back to get my money back, they just passing phone to each other and basically didn’t give the money back and zero customer service and no actual manager that I could deal with. I had the right as I cancelled in less than a minute. Never going back and my friends too

Bad bad experience!!! 03/04/23 6:40pm Girl who welcomed us in not very welcoming at all!! Looked Like she didn’t want us there. Last minute booking !! Steak came out with extremely dried onions on top way to crispy and burnt to eat !! Chips were dry over cooked and looked like something from wimpy. Peppercorn Sauce so thick and cold couldn’t eat It !! Lady who served us looked Like she did not want to be there. Atmosphere really not nice However girl working on cocktails was fantastic!!! Working very hard And doing a good job. Such a shame we will not be back again The bill was £140 !!! For 2 people Very disappointing Don’t bother !!!

Quiet, romantic, gorgeous food, great service

Very happy with my Mother’s Day experience at Spaghetti Tree. There is a wide variety of food and drinks, which are all reasonably priced. There was a singer providing entertainment. Only downside is there’s not much parking if it’s a busy day. We had to walk down with a baby. I’d definitely recommend!

Very disappointed with the service at spaghetti tree. Food was really nice but for my main was given chips after asking for Sauté potatoes. Was then accused by the waitress of ordering chips. It turns out they had just run out of Sauté potatoes. After waiting over an hour and a half for my meal. The manager then thought a tequila Rose and taking of the service charge would be adequate. Although it had ruined the whole meal. Personally wouldn’t come back.

I recently visited Spaghetti Warlingham, the service was really good, The waiter that served our table was called Jake he was really passionate about his job and took care of our table, very impressed, will be returning. The other staff were also really good.

We visited on Friday & paid a £10 deposit per head in which when coming to pay the bill they refused to take off and insisted it was a booking fee to hold our table. A service charge was also on the bill so it doesn’t make sense as to what the £140 was for, none of us had ever known of a restaurant to take a deposit and not deduct it from the bill! They then charged us an extra £66 on top of the payments as they said we’d paid too little even though we had proof of paying the correct amount. Don’t bother visiting

We were so excited to finally visit but sadly didn’t enjoy it as hoped. Got seated at the “crappy” table .. even though 70% of the place was empty. Left waiting for staff to attend to us multiple times (was left without appropriate cutlery for my Nutella Pizza (DONT recommend it) and due to lack of attention ended up eating it with my hands (it’s Pizza I suppose, so not the end of the world) which was very messy. -Food was nice-ish. -Staff was nice (when they did attend to us) -venue is cute -slightly overpriced Dont want to give up just yet on this place, will try again to be seated outside once it’s warmer (will also be more demanding of better seating if available and more attention if needed ).

We went for a dinner for four people. As we arrived, we saw the two bouncers on the door which set the tone for the night. Inside the restaurant was fitted out like a club - mirrored walls, big bar in the middle, booths, and loud music. The service was slow, rude and unusual. The music was loud and we couldn’t hear one another. The dishes themselves were fine (average Italian food). The toilets were strange. The hand washing is linked between the men’s and women’s, which means you sometimes accidentally bump hands with people in the other loos. Maybe come if you’re looking for a cocktails night out. But they shouldn’t market themselves as a restaurant.

Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Food was ok albeit rushed and they couldn't wait to clear the table. Manager was unpleasant and seemingly determined to rush us and have us out within 2 hours. There really should be some leeway for large groups expecially those with young children, as it takes longer to decide what to eat and actually eat. We were told we couldn't order dessert which is just bizzare as we probably would have spent another £200 on those and more drinks if not made to leave. We had gone to celebrate a birthday but the manager's attitude really ruined it. Shame but won't be back or recommend.

The management need to change their attitude. We were a group of 12 plus 1 child. We were given a maximum of 2 hours yo eat and keave. This works if there are 2 or 4 people eating NOT when it's a large group. We could gave spent a much large amount IF we had been allowed to be there longer than the 2 hours. The management either need to refuse taking large groups OR allow a much longer window (probably 3 hours) to enjoy their meal. I think the stubborness to not extend the eating time took away our fun. We were celebrating a birthday and it was actually ruined by being asked to leave after 2 hours. Whilst the food was nice and the staff were generally pleasant, we will certainly NOT be going back there again. Shame on the management.

Terrible service got placed right by the two doors even though I booked my table 1 month in advance - asked to be moved 2 times and then sat here ignored for 20 minutes - I’ve been excited to try this place for so long and feel extremely disappointed as me and my partner were celebrating our anniversary- probably would be a nice place if the staff cared.

Great food. Service shocking! Waited ages before they took our drink order. Drinks missing, had to ask again for some of the drinks. Staff seemed more preoccupied with what they looked like and each other than giving good service. The food was lovely, if a bit overpriced. We were only given a two hour time slot and was reminded that we needed to vacate the table, but we also had to ask three times for the bill. When we eventually received the bill, they automatically added service charge, which we would have happily paid, if we had decent service. We asked for it to be removed, but it was still added on when we gave payment. We had to ask again to have the service removed. Shame about the lack of service and smiles as the food and restaurant was lovely. We wouldn’t recommend and we won’t go back. Very disappointing as it was a birthday celebration!

Firstly I would like to say this place is lovely in the summer in the garden and they should stick to making pizza’s. The food was either bland, over cooked or just tasted of over powering garlic and I like garlic but this was too much. It’s so loud in there and all tables are crammed in that you are literally on top of each other and feel claustrophobic and can’t have a conversation over the loud music. Your made to feel very rushed that your food comes out literally straight after your starters with no breather and as soon as you put your cutlery down they are asking to clear your plate despite others on the table still eating. Just not a very professional dinning experience, more like microwave food instead of authentic Italian and the atmosphere is for for the social media hype then making sure the guest are actually enjoy their time.

Excellent Italian restaurant. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Service was really good and staff very attentive , especially the Manager. Good parking facilities too.

First of all this place has no respect for the locals that have to deal with the music and noise from this place, even after hours at half 12 in the morning this place booms out music to the locals that are trying to sleep, the fact that you have two miserable looking bouncers outside says it all about this place, if you care about the locals that have to live outside listening to the noise of music thumping out of this place along with all the other noise after hours then boycott this place, because if they can have no respect for the locals then how on earth are they going to respect you unless they can get money out of you

A nice place to visit in the summer just to have a pizza and a drink and sit outside however I’d avoid going to the the restaurant inside.Have visited several times each time telling myself I won’t return again. Food is overpriced and not that great. Examples of food I’ve had risotto undercooked, Soggy veal as placed on top of spaghetti, Fillet steak arrived without tiger prawns, salmon tasteless , scallops in a hot curried slightly sauce which it didn’t state. One occasion hired pod Where £500 was taken off account when booking ,on the night wasn’t even going to let us eat the birthday cake we’d bought. We were left unattended for a good 15 -20 minutes not being shown how to work TV or music or offered a drink just left to our own devices until we had to complain. Service charges added even if 4 of you eating And staff are rude. wasted so much money eating at this place on food I could cook better myself. I’ve mentioned this restaurant to other people who have also eaten here and they’ve agreed overpriced for not great food. Won’t be returning.

For a place called spaghetti tree, the spaghetti was underwhelming. I visited this restaurant with family the other day for a birthday meal and the service was terrible. Not only did all the waiters/waitresses look underage but they seemed to be overworked. Constantly rushing from one table to another when they look as though they should be revising for GCSEs! We sat and waited patiently for hour food for half an hour, and when it still hadn’t come and we asked a staff member they said it would be another half hour wait. All that time for a spag bol and three pizzas! UPDATE: I decided to give this place another chance, again - I am heavily disappointed. Never in my life have I felt as ill as I do now after consuming one of their pizzas. I have been hovering by the toilet bowl for the past two hours, I am even struggling to type this due to the copious amounts of sweat I’m producing. My life is flashing before my eyes, I doubt I will be able to make it through this treacherous sickness. As embarrassing to admit, I even soiled myself as I am unable to lift myself on to the toilet. I’ve had to ask my 11 year old sister to wipe me clean of my own feces, and I can still taste the tomato sauce I regurgitated. I hate you, spaghetti tree. You have ruined me. You have robbed me of my dignity, I shall never be the same again.

Disappointing unfortunately. The first impression was that the restaurant had an odd smell. I had seafood dishes and both started and main were overcooked and rubbery. The creme brûlée for desert was awful, lumpy and the sugar on top wasn’t crunchy at all. I guess it wasn’t prepared fresh, but batch cooked and kept in the fridge for some time. The place is severely overpriced for the quality of food and average service

So first the ‘picky bits’ are huge and are essentially starters and not great… Once we’d had these, we moved on to choosing mains as there’s no way you could have a starter too… So I can’t review the Arancini balls which I didn’t have...
