Dinner and drinks were exceptional as always! The same manager that’s always on and a new starter who was only 18 provided us with the best service we’ve had on our many visits! 5* food, 5* drinks and 5* service, couldn’t really ask for a better place to go!

Brilliant time, super food & Decor. Juan was so helpfull, first class service. Highly recommended.

Didn't want to leave a negative review because it seemed like a unique and different venue. Table for two, please, me and my son. I presume the manager was the man who greeted us and seated us . He was very polite and friendly when we arrived so I chose to pay him when we had finished our modest introduction to the cuisine. The food was good but in contrast the waiting staff seemed distant even though we sat near the kitchen. In their defence, it was a little busy. We would like to thank the manager for being the example.

Delicious food, albeit very pricey. Have been for a few occasions and their special events aren’t well managed - had a very rushed valentines last year. Generally nice place to go to eat and see and be seen but I’ll be honest it’s more expensive than the experience warrants.

Slight criticism would be that the food could have been hotter!

Michael was very helpful explaining the menu and attentive. Food was 11/10, steak was perfectly cooked and the beef asado rigatoni was delicious, def recommend. Cocktails were spot on ans would recommend the El Maldito.

Me and my friend had an amazing bottomless bruch there today.We were looked after by Huan and he was just the nicest person you will ever meet! Our glasses were never empty! The food was lovely, the drinks kept coming all the time and we couldn't fault it. I would come back without hesitation.

The service we received was frankly awful. Whilst the restaurant was busy (Friday night), we were unjustifiably ignored once sat at the bar waiting for our reserved table to become free. Moreover, once the table did become free there was no effort to call us over, nor did the staff show any interest in taking our order. An experience that could have been improved so much by small details, such as taking our food orders before seating us, or taking us to our table instead of being beckoned over with a shrug.

Great menu and great staff. Definitely worth a visit.

This new place I recently visited. 🏢 You wouldn't believe it, but their steak is out of this world! 🥩 To say it was delicious would be understating it. 😋 You know me well, always on the hunt for a good cocktail 🍹 and guess what, they ace it there too! They have got such a smashing selection and they aren't half bad when you ask 'em to whip up something to your taste. 🍸 And how could I not mention the lovely staff? Warm, welcoming and oh so attentive.👌 They've made a fan out of me and it's certain as eggs is eggs that I'm going back there. 🔄 Looking forward to taking my friends here.

I visited this place on a Sunday afternoon for a few drinks and meal with a friend. Pleasant atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had a brief of the menu to help us decide and a recommendation of the fillet steak by our waiter Ivan. The food was amazing the steak was perfectly cooked and flavoursome! Ivan was particularly attentive and helpful with nothing being too much of a bother. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future. Thank you all!

Had a lovely time at Sonrisa today and Amber was really helpful since the time we walked it. Loved the food and the atmosphere with the nice authentic interior. This was the 1st time me and my fiancée tried the Argentinian cuisine and Amber did not fail us to choose what we would love. Definitely coming back again when we are in Leicester.

Excellent restaurant with good theming throughout. Very good red wine selection with plenty of Argentine options. We split the porterhouse steak between two and it was served excellently. Steak knives are very sharp for cleaning off the bones and all dishes are served with an amazing salsa Verde. Service was at a high standard. My only criticism is that they could hold back a bit on the lambs lettuce which was over every dish.

Some of the tastiest food & drink I have eaten paired with fantastic friendly, professional and knowledgeable service. Every individual element in the dishes were so tasty and cooked to perfect,when combined they were out of this world (chimichuri with the beef 👌) we came for the early bird menu and the value was amazing, full size portions and a great selection. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

We recently visited Sonrisa with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we’d hoped, especially given the premium pricing. We ordered the £70 steak, asking for it to be cooked medium, but it arrived well done. We noticed it had been sitting under the heat lamp before it was brought to us, which likely caused it to overcook. Additionally, the plate was covered in blood—a clear sign it wasn’t prepared as requested. When we raised this with our server, Michael, we expected he would address the issue professionally. Instead, he insisted he had “facts” on why the steak was supposedly cooked correctly. Without taking it back to the kitchen or checking with the chefs, he returned only a couple of minutes later, doubling down with more “facts” and dismissing our concerns. Rather than offering to replace the steak, he just stood there and asked us, “What are we going to do about it?” in a confrontational tone. At that point, we realized he wasn’t willing to handle our concern, and rather than waste a £70 steak, we decided to just eat it. Michael did offer a small discount of £11, which did little to make up for the experience. To make matters worse, as my friend was still finishing the steak, Michael hovered by our table asking, “Are you done?” This dismissive and unprofessional attitude from the server made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Given the poor service and lack of accountability, it’s hard to recommend Sonrisa. We left feeling disappointed and certainly won’t be returning anytime soon.

I recently had a disappointing experience at your restaurant that I feel needs to be addressed. The service was subpar; the waitress was rude and didn’t allow me to complete my order, resulting in missing sides. Additionally, there were no table checks to ensure everything was satisfactory. Most concerning was the lack of attention to allergies—no one asked about any dietary restrictions, which poses a serious health risk. When I requested a drink from another waitress, it took 15 minutes for the order to be put through to the bar. I raised these issues with Michael, the duty manager, who mentioned that I would be contacted by the general manager. However, it has now been 48 hours with no communication. I hope to receive a response soon to address these matters. Thank you.

Visited as a group of 6 on a busy Saturday night. Service was excellent, and we all agreed that the steak was amazing.

The food was absolutely delicious. However the service was very slow (but the staff were friendly). The worst part was the atmosphere. It was loud and boisterous and the music was very loud which made it hard to talk. The venue should consider more soft furnishings to absorb the sound and should turn the music down. Then it would be perfect. Overall I would visit again though.

We went when it was restaurant week and ordered from that menu which was probably a bad idea, I like chorizo sausage but way too much and it needed something with it not just sausage ! Spaghetti prawns was nice, sticky pudding was nice too, the guy who served us was extremely friendly and helpful, but what I was miffed about was on arrival I ordered a bottle of red wine to share with my friend but when shown to the table a glass of red was delivered, I made the staff aware I ordered a bottle of which they apologised and said you may aswell have this glass still, but they still charged £10, which I thought was quite excessive, I wouldn’t hurry back sorry !

Really good food (Seafood, Pastas and Sides) and service. Ivan was very friendly, helped us with the food decisions. Would highly recommend this place for a good lunch.

What we ordered way back when: • Chistorra Sausage (£9.50)❤️ • Tenderstem Broccoli (£7.90)❤️ • Garlic and Parsley Fries (£3.90)❤️ • Chicken Arroz (£17.90) • Calamari (£8.90)❤️ • Cured Beef Croquette (£6.90) • Muscovado Pudding (£7.50)❤️A MUST HAVE!!❤️ • Chocolate Fondant (£7.50) We ordered items which are no longer on the menu but they have alternatives: • Oxtail Empanada —> Beef Empanada ❤️ • Pepper Empanada —> Black Bean Empanada • Broad Beans —> any other veg dish Despite not being crazy over all the dishes, the food was still incredible. The service was great and the staff were so kind and helpful. We did order a lot (and probably didn’t need to) but without alcoholic drinks, the bill was really reasonable considering this current money crisis we are living in!! (Around £30 each) I love love love Sonrisa (despite being skeptical at first) and I can’t wait to go back! I am also very jealous of anyone that has been more recently than me🙂. Overall: 10/10⭐️

Visited Sonrisa as part of Leicester Restaurant Week so they had an offer of £25 pp for a 3-course meal. Limited selection of dishes with the offer but all things we liked so happy with the choice. Food served efficiently and was hot and really tasty. great staff from order taking, drinks and food delivery - all happy, smiling and friendly making us feel welcome. It was a reasonably busy evening with some big groups so atmosphere had a buzz and the latin background music was enjoyable. All in all a postive experience and would definately go back or reccomend to others.

Michael and Reece were fantastic with their attentive service, and the food was divine.

After visiting Sonrisa in Leicester on a number of occasions we have noticed a common problem.. their deputy manager Michael ! On 2 occasions we have been served by Michael, and on the second time we decided to walk out without ordering. We ignored his previous rudeness and blunt mannerisms on our last visit as we enjoyed the food and drinks and we didn’t want it spoiling our occasional date night, however, on our recent visit, his rudeness was the final straw. My 10 year old son asked a question to Michael and he chose to ignore him completely. We decided to walk out and we will never go back to the Leicester branch again. It is such a shame as the staff represent the company and this is not a good representation.

I won a voucher for sonrisa and it was the nicest experience! Amber and Ivor were amazing servers and made me feel so welcome and were very accommodating! Good and drinks were amazing and the dessert was THE best (coffee ice cream YUMMY!) Great atmosphere and all staff very friendly and welcoming

This had to be the worst service only topped by the terrible food. Avoid! I had asked for a medium rare steak, only to get this rubberized piece of meat Allergy requests were met with snark remarks, The waiter couldn't even remember to provide glasses for the water we paid for.

We have visited Sonrisa maybe a dozen times and will continue to do so when in Leicester as the standard is consistently high. A relaxed atmosphere, super friendly staff and food which is beautifully prepared and cooked. An excellent choice of drinks too - cocktails, non-alcoholic.....something for everyone. I recommend the chicken arroz and the muscovado pudding. Would just like to give a mention to Ariana who was our waitress last Saturday. She was friendly, chatty and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was very busy but staff had everything in hand and the service was as good as ever.

Went due to recommendation. The place wasn't super busy but service went from non existent to a grand speed of slow.Pointed out to us we were early, (10 minutes,)we didn't make a fuss and were happy to get a drink and wait for table...but.... Ignored at the bar while waiting for table (20 minutes and no drink) got table and ordered wine and 1st course.... they arrived v nice, ordered mains but then there was a very long wait for them to arrive by which time the wine was finished and so were we. An expensive meal out for 2.. arrival time 7 30 leaving time 10.15 ish, won't bother again.

Food was lovely but bottomless 2 glasses off Prosecco and 2 cocktails, not being funny but Iv never left a bottomless brunch sober very slow with drinks , got 1st drink 20 minutes into our time and soon got asked for the bill wen time was up , lovely venue

Lots of choices on the menu, however some of the dishes could have had a bit more flavour. I would come back in future. The waiters were very welcoming and friendly and gave brilliant service. Especially Ivan and Michael!

Great food, but they automatically added 10% service charge AND asked for a tip on top of it. The minimum tip amount on the card machine was 10%. So suddenly a mid priced meal becomes an expensive meal. You’re getting close to fine dining territory, which this wasn’t. Still, nice food.

Came here for a family meal for my daughter’s birthday a few weeks ago. Great atmosphere and food was great. Good size portions too. Recommend the Papas Bravas Huevo, I’d go back just for that!

It was our first time at Sonrisa, the food was amazing. Michael and Jess were lovely they made sure we had everything we needed. We arrived very hungry and didn’t wait long for the delicious meal. We will be returning whenever i visit Leicester.
