Excellent coffee and a great selection of beers, beautiful presented cocktails and a wholesome cosy atmosphere.

Always wondered why my Leicester colleagues rave about this place, and after my first visit today, I totally get it. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, and wow—do they make the BEST cappuccino in town! For just £2.80, I had a gorgeous decaf oat milk cappuccino. Highly recommend!

I have visited this bar for many years now and never had any bad experience until yesterday when I went with my son for a quick lunch. We chose the special offer for a jacket potato with a drink for £9.99… as we already had a drink we paid for, we ordered 2 x jackets and got charged £18. When we got served I asked for the inclusive drinks to be told that we couldn’t have those as did not confirmed/specified when ordering… the portions were tiny and the unnecessary grease paper dissolved in the food… I understand that there is inflation but £18 for 2 medium jacket potatoes seems excessive to me specially when you expect it to be part of a deal…

I was walking by and decided to try this place. Fantastic vibes and my kind of music! Great friendly staff and super quick service. It will be extremely challenging not to make this my favourite pub in all of England!

Always good for a drink and chill but had food for the first time today and very pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Burger was a solid 9/10 highly recommend

One of the frequently visited pub by me and my friends. Always a lovely vibe with great drinks. Usually served by Kelly, an absolute rockstar with the best energy!! Makes the place what it is. Went there for the Euros finals and Kelly made sure we felt safe the ENTIRE time by consistently and kindly checking in with us. *Edited* to also mention how great Zack is at the entrance!! Meeting him just makes my day. Keep it up team 💪🏽

Nonsense racist place you should avoid especially if you’re someone of colour. We went there when we travelled for work from London with my colleagues who were all white. Upon arrival they decided to single me out saying I was drunk and could not get in which was funny since I was the coherent one among my colleagues and was actually the one keeping them in check. The Somali and Indian security guards at the door said the manager so us walking towards their establishment and the way I walked convinced them that I wasn’t sober enough. My white colleagues even felt embarrassed about the whole situation as it didn’t make sense. In hindsight though it was a favour as I would have probably walked into a clan rally! I can’t believe places like this still exist in this day and age. They should be ashamed and shut down. Anyway we went to the next place where we were not judged by our looks and my hard earned money was appreciated, had a great time. Avoid at all cost they lack basic respect!

What a great place. First time of visiting but will definitely be going back. Met friends for a birthday. Sat outside as the weather was nice. Very large walled garden area, loads of seating, DJ playing good tunes and not to loud so it was nice we could still chat. The staff are really friendly, great atmosphere, can’t wait to return.

Didn't have food as arrived after serving had closed but had a great evening of birthday drinks! Just as good as I remember it.

The tree is the best go to spot in Leicester! Definitely pay it a visit if you're travelling to Leicester for the day! A lovely beer garden with a friendly atmosphere, plenty of room! Service is quick and super friendly! Please give Kelly praise for her amazing customer service, it's always a pleasure! All the team are lovely :)

Had an amazing burger/2 as part of their great Monday 241 burger deal chef came out himself which was a very nice touch, great bar and kitchen staff here!!

What is the point of this place ? The offer is horrendous and expensive, the staff are aloof, there is no skill and no care being shown by the owning company. I have given this place the chance over the last 3 years and I will never darken the door again. Used to be a legendary operation, such a shame

One of my favourite places to go for a drink in Leicester

I would prefer the Corridor to the toilets was made a clear access,instead tables& Chairs,I feel I am encouraging on other people's space. Great, unbelievable outdoor space, with two heated areas. I observed a glass collector pick up a glass by fingers inside & outside the glass, the only problem was the glass was half full, the person complained, they should have been offered a fresh drink, what's your policy on this matter,? Recently had our Christmas dinner for DMU Climbing Society here and could not have asked for a better time! Food was delicious, came out quickly and had plenty for everyone, staff were very careful concerning a nut allergy with our party and could not have made them feel safer. Drinks were great as usual, and staff were super friendly and put up with 20 of us and our awful Christmas singing! Well worth the price and will definitely be returning, will be 100% recommending to others as well :)

Visited The Tree for our work Christmas party and it was fantastic from start to finish. Great communication on the run up to the event, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful on the day. The food was fab too - the sharing style went down a treat. Thank you again for having us!

The staff is absolutely amazing, they have to deal with so much from the public and still keep composure while being their happy cheery selves. The food is great and keeps me coming back every time, the sense of community also keeps me coming back too.

Menus wrong, prices wrong, manager knew they were wrong and refused to honour them. We left and went next door to the “queen of bradgate” their loss. In response to your reply, I wasn’t being difficult, and didn’t complain when you spilt the drink over me. As soon as I challenged you on the prices you stated the till wouldn’t let you do it, repeatedly. Which is why I asked to speak to a manager. I supposedly spoke to the duty manager (you?) and you eventually frustratedly stated “ if I was going to be like that “ you would do the correct prices, by that time both my wife and i felt unwelcome in your premises. So we left, without drinking anything. You’ll find we treat people with respect, and our parting comment was just leave it then. But of course I’m allowed to leave my truthful comments wherever I please

Me and my husband had burgers and beers and someone might say that you can have these from any pub. Yes, but not all the pubs have french fries with french cut (small ones) like them. Easier to eat. Staff was really nice and the place is central in the city. I didn't take pictures but it's worth a visit

Went into the upgraded beer garden on a hot Friday afternoon which is quite pleasant. The selection of beers was limited as all three hand pumps were not available possibly due to the warm weather so it was just a choice between lager and cider. The Amstel was pleasent enough and at a reasonable price for Leicester £4.40. Pub was not busy but had to leave before 3pm as it was closing for a private function.

Visiting from abroad and had such a lovely afternoon at the Tree last week. Staff were so incredibly friendly, the back garden was the perfect place to sit and have a drink, enjoyed every second! Great place to stop if you are in town for the day, will definitely be back next time I’m in Leicester!

Cool atmosphere and vibe made for a great place to relax with friends. I particularly enjoyed the jazzy music and confy chairs. Good selection of vintage board games too (some parts missing).

Went for early evening drink, before going to cinema. Staff have a selective system on whom they deem worthy to serve, and the doormans task for the evening, was to come into the pub (frequently) and deliberately walk in front of people to antagonise them, for no reason. Beer OK, surroundings as you would expect of High St Pub

Stumbled upon this little gem of a place whilst on a trip with my partner. Staff were super friendly, beers were spot on and the food was amazing. My partner had a Sunday roast and I had the howitzer burger…. Hands down the best best burger I’ve ever had. We’re coming back for a couple of shows in may and I know where I’m coming for dinner 😀

Always been a good pub staff are super busy and did their best and served me when they had a chance and in order, they used to have some half decent bands playing as well.

Has our Christmas meal here last night and it may be the best pub Xmas meal we've had! Can't recommend highly enough. The staff were accommodating, attentive and friendly, the food was great and everything reasonably priced. Top stuff!! 😊

Review is for vegetarian Sunday roast. Tried a few veggie Sunday roasts in Leicester and this ranked as one of the best so far. Generous portion of seitan with well-cooked veg and nice gravy. Ordered the cauliflower cheese side dish and it was lovely, with a thick creamy cheese sauce. The meal was seasoned with herbs too which was a nice touch. Yum! The draught ale was well kept, and the wine was delicious. Will probably add a side of extra roast potatoes next time as they were lovely.
