Sonny and Vito's in Glasgow City

I’ve been going there for well over a decade and plan on going for many more. One visit and you will understand why this café is a west end institution.

Loved this very dog friendly place. The staff are excellent and the food is first rate. I'll be back soon.

Food is good, especially the cakes (and the cafe is a much better venue for coffee and cake than it is for a full lunch). Can get mad busy and a lot of the tables are tiny, so maybe don’t order too much. Service is a bit meh, but the cakes really are good, so we’ll let that go.

Lovely cafe. They serve nice coffee, cakes and snacks/light meals. They have a selection of Italian goods for sale like pasta and sauces etc. Try the hot pastrami on toast, it's beautiful.

Coffee was not nice. Waiter / server - possibly the owner. Extremely unhelpful with zero customer service. Won’t go back. Most unpleasant coffee experience.

Not my first visit here, certainly won't be my last. Food is delicious & staff are amazing. 10 out of 10.

Food was good, however we were in 45 minutes and a staff member asked us to leave as she needed the table. We had literally just finished our food 5 minutes earlier and were chatting and letting the food digest. Staff removing finished plates of diners when other member of party is still eating. Extremely rude. Staff should wait until all members are finished eating before removing plates, this is basic etiquette. You are supposed to come out of a place feeling better than you went into it. Suggestion would be if you do go here for food then set your timer!

Best coffee in West end and polenta cake is excellente

Really warm, homely small restaurant with lovely staff, service was impeccable. Food was first class. Loved it. Still great... Red Velvet Cake was to die for.

Nice visit for a catch up lunch with my friend. The food was really tasty. Soup and a sandwich then we couldn’t resist the cake! Such a lovely chill atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. Defo be back.

After 5 days in Glasgow and Edinburgh, this was the best food we ate and the most cozy place for a meal. We had a very nice soup and a couple of the specials, good tasting and quality. Highly recommended.

Curious place. Take away food can only be served cold. As an expectation they were going to heat up a sausage roll for me; although it was going to take 10 minutes I was denied a seat to sit outside. The food on display can only be served to sit in at certain times. There is no sit in menu on display. Went to a patisserie a stone’s throw away who were happy to sell their food and put an extra seat outside. Odd experience!

regularly go to sonny and vitos it's a great place for breakfast or lunch time food and the coffee is amazing couldn't recommend more

The owner stood in front of our table and was chatting to someone for ages, zero manners or respect. I could literally smell his backside whilst trying to eat my carrot cake. Couldn’t wait to leave and never coming back. Disgusting

The world is going through a period in which many leaders in a variety of Industries, Politics. Big and Small Businesses are being led by woofal people with low intelligence and no gravitas. Perfect example today. Service from the staff excellent, food excellent, King Dong drilling plant pots on the one of two tables in the Sun. I requested if I could sit at the only other table in the sun, king Dong didn't look up and or stop his open heart surgery on his plant pot, arrogantly replying "aye". My coffee and juice arrive. King Dong continues with his surgery. Particals of dust on my clothes in my drinks. King Dong stops his life saving surgery as I thought just in time the arrival of my excellent very expensive breakfast. King Dong then appears with another plant patient and starts drilling again.i moved to the other tables in the shade, wind and cold. Superb leadership skills from a very arrogant man, who seems to think he owns a Titan of a business. Staff are a reflection of him, however some staff are excellent like the team that were on today. Paid my bill tipped the staff. King Dong had stopped drilling at the table. Why because he was having his breakfast in the sun at one of the good tables. Still Game cast said it all Westend W""""""

Nice coffee and the best cannolis in Glasgow (and I've tried all of them)

Went here with a chum for lunch. Friendly service and the food was good, though later that day I was as sick as a dog. I'd ordered the tuna sandwich and wasn't sure about the taste but thought perhaps it was the mayo they'd used. I've been here before with no issues so it's probably a one off. Wouldn't stop me going back.

Some of the cakes, the coffee and the imported products are delicious. Not cheap, but worth once in a while.

Cozy well decorated place. Came in for some lunch. Big portion sizes and delicious food. Vegetarian and vegan options available. Had some tea and baked goods. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

Enjoyed a nice soup lunch here. Friendly waitress and nice surroundings, nice piece of cake too. Space is a bit cramped so not great for private conversations when it's busy, or a bit breezy when door is open, but those are minor issues.

Sonny and Vitos is a hidden gem in Glasgow. I often bring my clients here because of the exceptional service they provide. The staff is attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable. Combined with delicious food, Sonny and Vitos is the perfect spot for meetings or casual catch-ups.

Best in the business, these guys have been around and then some, fantastic foods and friendly family business, very dog friendly top marks from pooch too

I visit this location approximately once every two months. The food is amazing, it has a lovely atmosphere. I recommend it. It is a bit expensive, however the food justified the expense.

I recently visited Sonny & Vito's Deli Cafe and had an disappointing experience. I overheard staff making disparaging remarks about my party. It was disheartening to hear such unprofessional behaviour, which completely tarnished the atmosphere of the place. The lack of respect and courtesy demonstrated by the staff overshadowed any positive aspects of the establishment. I would not recommend Sonny & Vito's Deli Cafe to anyone seeking a pleasant and welcoming environment.

Morning coffee, chocolate muffin, and your choice from the bakery would make a perfect morning wouldn’t it? This place offers you all the above. I was looking for a place to take my laptop and have good small bites while working and I found exactly what I was looking for. Add to that the friendly welcoming staff and the nice atmosphere in this place. I had the black coffee, chocolate banana muffin and the spinach cashew tart and they were all delicious. I will go back to try the cannolis soon Highly recommend you visit this amazing local gem.

My favourite cafe in Glasgow, Sonny & Vito’s is a staple of the west end food scene. From great tasting coffee (including iced coffee), an amazing range of sandwiches (personal favourite being the chicken avocado) and some of the best homemade sweet treats I have ever tasted. The brownie is hands down the greatest brownie I have ever had!!!

Go for brunch often food is 10/10 can’t beat the breakfast! And don’t get me started on the cakes they are to die for great service from staff. Also a lot of options for vegetarian’s/vegan’s which is good to see. The cafe has a great vibe around it😁

Love the laid back atmosphere and delicious well picked menu. Just a lovely place to have a light lunch. Roast pepper and goats cheese on sour dough well above average and super portions. Beats most places I've been to on great Western Road.

El lugar es acogedor y muy simpático. La comida llegó rápido por lo que diré que el servicio fue eficiente. Pedimos un sandwich de pastrami y otro de jamón crudo, estuvieron bien y con esto quiero decir que el primero tenía buen sabor pero atascan el sándwich de col y mayonesa lo cual hace que no se distingan bien los sabores. Además de que la raciones de pastrami y jamón son muy pequeñas, difícilmente detectaba los cárnicos entre la revoltura inmensa de los otros ingredientes. Salve decir que la sopa que venía incluída era agradable al paladar también el café americano cumplía. Ordenamos un cannolo y una sfogliatella, no estaban mal pero pienso que aún pueden mejorarlos. De hecho la sfogliatella estaba un poco seca. En resumen me gustó porque satisfació mi hambre más no lo consideraría como mi favorito. Si buscan calmar el apetito y no tienen mucho tiempo consideren este lugar como una formidable opción. Saludos a todos.

Great place to while away a lazy hour or two. Fantastic coffee, the home baked cakes are an irresistibly guilty pleasure and well looked after by delightfully friendly staff. Speedy wi-fi and "slightly off the beaten path" location make it a joy. First time back after last review. Asked for a vanilla latte. Was icily informed that the coffee is so good it doesn’t need syrup!!! 😳Ballsy call...and totally justified!😀 I love a “nippy sweetie” put me right in my place but in a totally Glasgow way. As good if not better than before. Coconut and lemon tart, succulent and delicious. I’ll be back, might even ask for another vanilla latte just for the banter!!🤣 26/09/23:- Another lovely experience at S&V’s. Consistently excellent coffee, food (both sweet and savoury) and attentive service in this gem of the West End. And the Lemon Coconut cake is as succulent and tasty as I remember. Great dressing on salads. They have gluten free bread now as well. As it’s small they can’t cope with prams.

I used to live on Park Rd in 2009-2010 and visited S&V all the time for coffee and cake or for lunch a couple of times every week. I still have not found better sausage rolls anywhere!

Kitchen was closed at 5. Offered a chorizo and pork sausage roll... It was tarted up with a bit of green stuff. And it was stone cold. That, and 2 small white wines.. £17. Love the West end.

My fav coffee spot in west end. Unreal tarts, pasties and cakes! With one of the best carrot cakes I’ve ever had. Ideal for brunch. Great variety of Italian goodies and wines.

Stopped in with my dog today. We sat outside as we were both soaking thanks to the Glasgow weather. Staff were super friendly. Manager popped out to give the dog a treat and another member of staff looked after her while I went to the bathroom. Add to that good coffee and a fabulous red velvet cake and I'm really glad we visited.

Great food, place is always packed.

Great coffee. Cannolis are amazing. Owners and staff are always so kind and friendly. It's a favourite with our dog and 4 year old who keeps insisting on going back for hot chocolate. Lunches and cakes are also lovely. Definitely a favourite with our family. Good selection of food related gifts too.

One of my fav cafes. Cakes are always yummy and fresh and good coffee too.

A very cozy little coffee shop in the West End. They offer an assortment of pastries and sandwiches, espresso drinks and tea, as well as offering a number of wines by the bottle and glass and packaged goods from chocolate to pasta. We didn't try their food but the coffee drinks were excellent. Seating consists of a central shared table with padded chairs, as well as a number of small tables around the room with wooden seats. From the unique tables (one is an antique sewing machine) to the hanging plants and interesting wall hangings make for a comfortable spot.

My first visit today. Popped in with my friend for lunch and we were both impressed. We both had the soup and half sandwiches and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back. I like the fact that it is dog friendly. Might bring my dog next time. Staff were friendly and prices very reasonable.

We wandered in on a Saturday around noon, pretty full but we (2) found a spot inside. My wife’s cashew tart was delicious, my roasted chicken sandwich was very tasty, and they both came with an excellent salad. We loved this place, very friendly and very relaxed.

Perhaps good to go with a dog, but definitely not good to go with a baby and a trolley/ pram. Would be more honest to advertise "please don't enter with your baby and all your stuff".

Delicious food and very friendly service.

Hot chocolate was very good! The cakes were £3.95 each. Not very good for me...the cake part had a rough texture, the cream felt a bit hard and was too sweet. But recommend their drinks.

Wonderful place to drink a coffee and eat a snack

It was lovely, but I wish they (and lots of other places) didn't put chilli in food but not list it on the menu. That's the second time this week I've had a dish spoiled because of unlisted ingredients. The soup would have been lovely if there hadn't been chilli in the oil. Otherwise the food was lovely. Service was a bit slow after we had finished our main course. It's still 4 stars though.
