Organised 30th birthday celebrations. Excellent venue, food & staff. Nothing too much trouble. Help and support was amazing. Would thoroughly recommend using this venue again. Bob was exceptional in helping with the organisation and helping us to clear everything at the end of the night. Thank you to all the staff.

Popped in for a coffee and decided to eat. Food was amazing - good value for money and staff friendly.

I visited for a Christmas meal and in a group of 20 (2 tables of 10). We had pre ordered and staff had made up place cards (reminding us what we’d ordered). The food was served table by table, quickly and quietly by the most lovely waiting staff. It was well presented, hot and delicious. Beautiful surroundings and well priced.

Attended a funeral lunch in the last couple of weeks, very nice, the sandwiches were certainly fresh and had a lovely variety of fillings. The only downside on on our part was that although the visitors car park was a good size there was only one car parking space for the disabled, which I find quite astonishing, it looks like it has to include the disabled, but only doing the minimum. I am sure there is room for a couple of disabled spaces on that corner, which would be most helpful if you have more than one car with disabled and wheelchair users.

We had organised a special event on Monday for 8 golfers who were all good friends of Chris Cornish who sadly passed away a couple of months ago. 3 of our gang are members at SGC and rave about the course and so we were able to get guest rates to play and really enjoyed the course....very tough and unforgiving but a real challenge and in excellent condition. We had lovely food and drinks afterwards with the son and daughter of Chris who we had invited....2 tables of 6 and all Covid compliant on and off the course. All the staff were superb, very attentive and it made it a lovely day all round even with the sadness surrounding the need for the event. Thanks to SGC !

We celebrated my Mum’s 90th birthday with a lunch at SGC for over 60 family & friends. It was brilliant, the place, staff & the food were excellent. Would definitely recommend this venue.

Were guests at a Golden Wedding anniversary celebration and thought the food and service was outstanding. We had chosen various items from a menu and these were delivered to the table without fuss to the right people. I had the roast chicken which would have been hard to beat at home, followed by the fruit crumble, possibly the best in a restaurant. Service was quietly excellent without fuss. This is a hidden gem and will certainly visit again. A big thank you to our hosts.

Played here early August whilst visiting family locally. The course was in excellent condition with quick and true greens. What stood out more than anything however was how welcoming the club was both in the pro shop and in the restaurant. Green fees were also very reasonable for such a good quality course. Will certainly play here again during our next visit to the area.

You wouldn't know this was here really and it's a really nice setting for a relaxing dinner - not greatly advertised, but one of the best in the area for a Sunday roast - you'll have to book as it does fill up with club members in advance

Bring a member of such a great club and having an amazing Chef Clive and his great staff are perfect combination to enjoy a round of golf on a Sunday with great mates then have a lazy lunch afterwards !!! 39 of us were treated to wonderful 3 course lunch , with great professional friendly waiting and bar staff ! Naturally a few beers and bottles of wine were drunk in our own private part of the restaurant where a few hearty “ Happy Birthday days to you” were sung !! We’ve decided to repeat that Sunday again soon ! Great value for money probably the best in the area £23 for 3 courses .Make sure you have the beef and finish with plate of cheese n biscuits !!

We attended a business xmas luncheon at t(e golf club where we were served a three course meal for the Christmas meeting. The table were set up in the conservatory a little squashed due to the amount of places set other that that little gripe the food was excellent hot and fresh very nicely presented. Would happily revisit this location for a meal.

Went to a lunch function here. Bearing in mind that there were 60+ of us the 2 courses were served efficiently and all at once. Food quantity and quality was excellent. Beer it bit overpriced though.

I would like to thank you all for a superb evening. The food was first class. The DJ covered all requests. The whole evening was so well manged from start to Finnish. I can honestly say it was the best Christmas party I have been to and there have be a few!

We regularly come here for our Christmas party. We didn't come last year and it was missed! Having returned you appreciate how good Sonning golf club is. Great staff. Food was amazing and plenty of it too. Hope we stay here year after year because it is a great venue

Went here for a family members 80th Birthday. Food, service and overall cleanliness was supurb. Staff were very pleasent and polite. Can't fault it.

Perfect environment to say goodbye to a very dear neighbour, excellent service, excellent food. Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and looked after.

We visited Sonning for our fourth golf day of the year and having not been here for a few years it was a most enjoyable day.

Berkshire Physiotherapy golf day in aid of Daisy's Dream charity was a very good day with very hot conditions followed by a very nice two course meal. Very good service food very good steak pie with very nice veg & crispy roast potatoes followed by summer fruit pie and crème custard.

I played golf at Sonning many years ago and found it has not changed much except the security seems to have been upgraded with gates surrounding the club house and restaurant. The chap in the pro shop was very pleasant and advised on start etc, I did not heed the white sock rule and was told by another chap in a suit, luckily I had some in the car, don't know what would have happened if I hadn't, as later I saw someone teeing off wearing black socks! anyway it's a very nice course, look forward to playing again soon.

Visited Sonning for 18 holes of golf and a Sunday Dinner. The golf course is a beautiful parkland course in amazing condition. It is easy walking but still challenging as it long and tight. Enjoyed the golf and met my wife on the terrace for a quick drink before sitting down to an amazing Sunday Lunch. I highly recommend this to anyone. Also look out for the Bistro Nights they hold every month.

A great Sunday lunch experience. Not eaten there before but I most certainly will again.

A party of friends and I went to the Golf Club for lunch. The food was delicious and was served elegantly. Definitely a place to return to.

We stayed in Sonning last night and thought we would play a round of golf.

We had both my wife's and my 60th birthday parties here, plus we've attended many functions. The staff are very accommodating, food is superb and the venue is excellent.

Just played Sonning G C for the first time - what a great course - will definitely return very soon. Green had just been hollow tine but that aside very good course

this golf course is in exellent condition and all of our local society immediately asked to re book for 2017 . we just had a simple lunch but it was spot on - well done .

Our neighbour who with his wife have been celebrating a wedding anniversary were kind enough to take us and another couple here for Sunday lunch today. We all had a three course meal starting with pate, fried bread crumbed Brie and other starters. All were good sized, nice presentation. We then all but one of us had one of the roast lunches on offer, the other one going for a vegetarian option. The roasts were excellent a large Yorkshire pudding accompanied the roast beef, my pork had nice crackling. Side vegetables were very nice, roast potatoes especially so. We all had a dessert I had sticky toffee pudding which was lovely. Other desserts were also reported very good. The surrounding are really nice and the staff very helpful and courteous service. Note sure how easy it is to get in by non members but if you get the chance I would go!

I have attended various social events over several years & the food is almost always excellent. However, recent theme nights seem to miss the point. Although few Scots attended, Scottish Night served a lovely Burns Supper & the piper was great. Beyond that, the dancing was Old Time rather than Scottish. St George's Night missed the them entirely except for a few flags. What next I wonder?

Though December, and after a particularly wet period, we had an enjoyable round at this course. What we would call a typical English course, compact, good greens, tree lined, all in all, a good experience. Recommended. Sorry, cannot comment on the food as the dining facilities were not open that day.

I have attended many functions in this lovely venue & food is always of a high standard. Fish & meat are top notch although if you happen to order steak on a busy day, it is not always cooked precisely as ordered! On our recent visit the duchess sweet potato tasted floury so presumably under-cooked. However, a summer wedding BBQ reception was outstanding!

We went to the Sonning Golf Club with a group of friends from our hydrotherapy arthritis group for our annual Christmas lunch. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. The décor and atmosphere was extremely pleasant and the place was nice and warm. They have excellent parking facilities. The bar is very small but the service was good. This would be a good place to hold a Christmas lunch. We were a party of 40 people and the catering was very efficiently run. I am sure we will go back there again.
