This place is so good. There is nothing pretentious about it. It’s all about the food which is excellent and authentic. I walked in there randomly and have been back repeatedly.

Concerned to find an empty restaurant on our arrival but decided to risk it. Service was unobtrusive but good. Food was excellent. I am a neophyte to Vietnamese cuisine but a more knowledgeable companion assured me it was good and authentic. The ambience was bleak (but I was told that too is authentic!) . Wear warm clothes. It got very cold!

Didn't have any Vietnamese beer. Didn't have any sift shell crab. Quail was nice but the rare beef pho seriously lacked flavour. Freezing cold . Two young staff were nice though .

No me puedo quejar de la comida aquí: mi pato crujiente estaba muy crujiente y suculento y la olla de cerdo y berenjena de mi amigo era una mezcla de deliciosos sabores. Sin embargo, el servicio deja algo que desear. Los dos camareros parecían disfrutar de estar detrás de la barra y parecían reacios a abandonar esta área. No vinieron a tomar nuestro pedido y cada vez que queríamos algo teníamos que llamar su atención con dificultad.

Era la primera vez que probaba comida vietnamita, así que estaba muy emocionado. Además de que mi otra mitad era china / filipina y quería comer comida asiática pero probar algo nuevo Teníamos rollitos de primavera y entrante de calamares, pero decidí probar las ancas de ranas que me encantaron. Recomiendo encarecidamente las patas de ranas fritas con mantequilla, el camarero tenía razón en que la rana es sabrosa Para los platos principales los dos teníamos los raros fideos de carne en la sopa que mi otra mitad me recomendó diciendo que me gustaría. Desafortunadamente, no estaban de acuerdo con mi gusto, pero el joven camarero lo reconoció y se ofreció a retirarlo de la cuenta y cambiarlo. Luego me ayudó a elegir otra cosa e incluso sacó la salsa de pescado para aliviar mi alergia, comí fideos con carne frita, eran increíbles. Me sentí como ese molesto cliente incómodo, pero el camarero fue muy amable y servicial, y no podría haber dado un mejor servicio. Volví a visitar el 100% nuevamente y también lo recomendé a mis amigos Nota al margen rápida Ahora también se llama Miss Vietnam

Went out with friends. Great service, lovely staff and absolutely fantastic food. Soft shell crab starter was so lovely. The main courses all looked and tasted lovely and fresh. I will definitely be back again.

We (party of 5) visited this establishment as we would like to try something different that evening. We had more Chinese food than any other food during our 9 days' stay in Birmingham. This particular restaurant is also not too far from our hotel : It was located approx. 350 m from Ibis Birmingham New Street Station. Sometimes, we preferred to have different kind of foods than Chinese food, as a variety. It was really quiet by the time we reached there : I saw only one table was occupied but they held a function in one of the rooms upstairs as I saw many people came in and out from the main entrance. Our order was being served within the next 15 minutes and onward. Their food was delicious and they were exceeded my original expectation. For this reason, I give them a 3,5 stars' rating.

The food was as close to food eaten in Vietnam as you could wish. We had bun cha, pork in betel leaves and banh xeo. All were really good. The wait times were fine, it’s a restaurant not a fast food joint, service friendly and the only non authentic thing was not having to sit on kindergarden sized stools.

If I could give this 0 I would. When arriving at this place (which wasn’t busy) we were seated fairly quickly, it took 25 minutes for them to take our drinks order, 30 minutes to then bring our drinks, I had to then go to the bar and ask them to take our food order. We waited and waited, I asked the waiter and he said yes it’s on it’s way so we waited a bit more, 50 minutes later and still no food. I then said to the waiter to cancel the order as we were going, he didn’t apologies and didn’t seem to care. No not visit it’s a waste of time.

I recently visited Birmingham with my wife and we thought we would have an authentic Vietnamese restaurant having read the rave reviews. Wish we hadn’t taken the time to go out of our way to visit this disaster. The decor was very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. We ordered our meals and eagerly anticipated the delicious sounding dishes. However after half and hour we hadn’t received anything. When we asked the waiter about our starters he said they would be out in a minute. 5 minutes later still nothing. We asked once again and were told they are coming out now. 5 more minutes and still nothing. I asked to cancel my order and was told I cannot as the food was cooked and is about to be bought out. I refused this as if it was made it would have been served. Not even an apology. Terrible service would not recommend to my enemies let alone someone I liked.

Given the recent number of allergy related deaths and convictions I am shocked and appalled this happened to me. I have a peanut allergy. Whilst ordering I had the waiter clarify 3 times that there would be no peanuts present. He seemed to understand. The meal arrived which was actually quite pleasurable. I ate a good amount before investigating what was under the soy sauce dish. It was a pile of crushed peanuts. I luckily had not touched that region of the food and had no reaction, but a more sensitive person could have already gone into anaphylactic shock. Upon mentioning (in an understandably angry tone) to the staff they gave a small apology and replaced the food, by which point my fellow diners had finished eating. They obviously did not understand the severity of the situation, despite my attempts at explaining. The staff ostracised us for the rest of the meal. We had no more drinks offered, no mention of dessert and our table was not cleared. Upon finally getting the bill they had the audacity to charge me for the dish that could have been my last. They offered no reparations, nothing heartfelt, and we were treated like second class citizens for almost being manslaughter victims. How many people have to die before chefs and waiters understand?

Well arriving to the restaurant a Friday night when all other restaurants where full... We have a table free and we seated (we should have feel the trap). Firstly everything start fine, the waitress was nice, the order was taking fast. But after that, we fasted ! Beers are served but nothing came on the table.. We needed to ask 3 times to get some crisps because they always forgot to bring it. We waited 1h30 to get the first main dish... and it was served cold (after all it may also waited in the kitchen). At the end (because we stayed .. we should have leave like another table) , I asked for a discount ... the waiter just didn't care and looked at me like a martian (maybe he was asking himself why I was asking because for them it's totally normal to wait so long) Moreover, don't forget to bring your pullover or coat if you don't want to get frozen! The room is really cold, we needed to wear coat to warm up. An other table did the same.

Friday evening all restaurants were full, we did not want to queue and enter in "Miss vietnam.30 minutes to get our beer waiting on the counter and one more hour to get the main dish. A strange atmosphère the staff looks moving busy but nothing happens.The food was good but in a pool of oil. And icing on the cake it was very cold, the heater was out of order, like everthing else apparently. Those people must find another type of business or apply to be trained for all aspects of service including the respect of vietnamese food, with 150 on the menu imagine it could be fresh ?

Cold place, not cozy at all. Take a jumper if you can. The noodles were very good. The rest quite ordinary for any Asian/ Chinese food

Une décoration un peu cheap, un service simple mais assez rapide, voire même un peu trop puisque mon entrée et mon plat principal sont arrivés en même temps ! On y parle vietnamien, c'est certain. Le crabe mou au sel en entrée est très bon. Le bouillon du Pho dac biet a un goût pas très prononcé ( je pense qu'il n'y a pas assez de viande ni de Nuoc mam, ni d'épices pour donner le goût typique attendu). C'est très délicat de juger et comparer quand on a l'habitude de le faire soi même, à la maison et de ne pas lésiner sur les ingrédients chers (viande et épices...) et qu'on a le temps de faire le bouillon pendant 5 heures... Mais bon on y mange bien et le Café Sua Da est super, il se rapproche vraiment de celui qu'on sert à Saïgon.
