Quite famous green Vietnamese restaurant around Hoxton area. Quite a lot of people flocked to here for some authentic Vietnamese cuisine. They are good in general although flavour could be a bit more if they can make it. Other than that, great atmosphere and will recommend people if they look for some Vietnamese food. Came Again for the meal and this time adding fried squid and mango salad. Prepared pretty well and was glad ordered them.

Very good flavors and atmosphere. The spring rolls are great. Would not recommend getting anything with prawns. Or atleast disclose they are fully shelled in the dish. Did not enjoy having to fish out each prawn and peel it at the table like a heathen, while making a complete mess of myself.

Wonderful place, food and service.

Absolutely love coming here. The menu is so extensive and every dish is done to a high standard. The pho broth is divine and restorative. Beef wrapped in bethel leaf is one of my favourites to get here as well as the whole fish. Great for large gatherings!

Not your usual Vietnamese corner restaurant experience. Since we arrived the service has been excellent and super fast. The menu offers a huge variety of typical dishes where you can feel and sense the love ,passion and tradition of the Vietnamese culture… Beware , you won’t be able to walk back home after a dinner here , price are so cheap that makes you want to order the whole menu ,to not mention the tastiest freshly squeezed apple juice (had to get 3 glasses) , will definitely be back to trie the rest of the menu.

I think the price of pho is a bit expensive compared to the quality of the food but at the end we weren’t charged for the service so it paid off😂 I love Bun cha in Vietnamese cuisine but their Buncha wasn’t great, just ok to eat. This restaurant is busy so you have to wait for a long time to ask something.

Really great food - highly recommend the banh xeo. It was fresh and crispy with a delicious filling. Papaya sals was decent but wouldn’t buy again. There’s usually a queue but it tends to move fairly quickly!

The Restaurant is great, nothing special to look at inside, but it is comfortable and pleasant. Some Reviewers complain about the noise, I visited on a Wednesday night, it was packed, but it was still easy to talk to and hear people on my table👍 The food is really good, and you don't have to wait long for it to arrive 👍 This is also one of the 'negatives', our Starters had just been delivered, then less than 1 minutes later, they brought out our Main Courses (a la Wagamama Style) - Not good👎 They also brought our Bill the moment they took the Plates away, we hadn't asked for it and we were still drinking our Drinks 🫤 The price of the food is really good considering the food quality and the location 👍 I was torn between 4 stars and 5 stars..I chose 5 Star as whilst the Service isn't 5 Star, it isn't bad, and the food and price compensate 🙂 Well worth a visit, the Chicken Satay Starter is excellent 😎

My mum and I had the most amazing dinner, where the food was outstanding and truly authentic! The hostess was incredible in directing and seating us on a very busy Saturday night. There were a couple of large birthday parties so the noise level was very high, making it difficult to speak, but overall great experience.

Delicious Vietnamese food in Hoxton.

After reading a number of rave reviews online, this came as a bit of a disappointment. The pho was average, the other dishes we tried (fried spring rolls en quail) mediocre. The food unfortunately matches the setting. If you're looking for good pho I'd suggest going to Viet Soho instead. The fried spring rolls there were fantastic as well. A bit more expensive though, and you might have a bit of a wait to get a table.

Underwhelming at best. Came here several years ago and the food was much better. We ordered the softshell crab and it was soggy and not crispy. That was a big disappointment since it had great reviews. We also ordered the beef and betel leaf which was good. My husband ordered the beef phở combo and it didn’t come until nearly half an hour later! I was already done with my grilled pork vermicelli with spring roll which was not as great. There were so many tables being sat after we had ordered and they were served their phở well before my husband received his. The service here was very disappointing which is a shame because the phở is actually quite nice. Tốt nhất là áp đảo. Đã đến đây vài năm trước và thức ăn ngon hơn nhiều. Chúng tôi gọi món cua vỏ mềm và nó sũng nước và không giòn. Đó là một sự thất vọng lớn vì nó có những đánh giá tuyệt vời. Chúng tôi cũng gọi món thịt bò và lá trầu rất ngon. Chồng tôi đã gọi món phở bò và gần nửa giờ sau nó mới đến! Tôi đã làm xong món bún thịt lợn nướng với chả giò, món này không ngon bằng. Có rất nhiều bàn được ngồi sau khi chúng tôi gọi món và họ đã phục vụ món phở của họ rất ngon trước khi chồng tôi nhận được món phở của anh ấy. Dịch vụ ở đây rất đáng thất vọng, thật đáng tiếc vì Phở thực sự khá ngon.

Got the beef combo Pho, it had 1 piece of beef and lots of huge chunks of fat swimming around which was very unpleasant. It’s my first time coming here so not sure if this was just a one off because i’ve never had Pho that has chunks of fat in it. Also got the crispy pancake with chicken and prawns, £12.5 for a pancake with such little filling is a bit steep, it has the smallest amount of beansprouts and only 1 prawn sliced in half…I’ve had this pancake in many other restaurants in London and in Vietnam and it’s never been this empty and expensive. extremely disappointing as i heard good things about this place

Delicious Vietnamese and other Asian dishes; absolutely worth the hype and a great atmosphere. Sells beer and wine, would go great for a BYO too. Definitely book in advance or send someone early to get in the line because this place is packed!

Song Que is okay but I think a bit overrated. The service was okay but quite neutral, and one waiter when we first got there was quite huffy and rude. A waitress then switched to our table as it seemed he had an issued that I asked to not be seated at a wobbly table where one of the legs didn’t even touch the ground.. The squid wasn’t that great. And small portion. The pork vermicelli bowl was good though and very generous. The rare beef pho was nice and also generous portion. The decor and atmosphere of this place really puts me off however. It’s quite draughty and cold, the green colour theme is not very pleasant and the place feels odd. The table arrangement also feels odd in that large room with such high ceilings. Price is really not as cheap as everyone says also, £50 for a meal for two with only one starter shared. I prefer my local Vietnamese restaurants in Deptford but if you’re in the area here and want to go it’s not a bad shout.

I first discovered Song Que 20 years ago and have been coming back on a regular basis. The service and food is consistently excellent. Actually I have just returned from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and I would say their Pho is just as good as the Michelin rated Pho restaurants in Vietnam.

We have been coming to this cafe since it first opened in 2022. The food is always fresh, tasty and enjoyable and the staff are warm and welcoming, doing their best to accomodate the customers even when the restaurant is very busy. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food and good service best in town

One of Hoxton's all-time classics. Food is fastly delivered to your table and it's really tasty. Atmosphere is dominated by the AMAZING horses painting on the wall. You have to see it to believe it. Go for the food, stay for the horses. Their eyes really look into your soul while you enjoy East London's best Pho.

I come here with my gf on a weekly basis, cannot fault the food, price or friendliness of the staff. Without question best cheap eat in east London, if not the world

Probably the most overrated pho ive had. We had the steak and dlamk pho, The broth was tasteless, lacked seasoning and depth, ive had better at the other vietnamese restaursnts along that road who barely had any customers but this is so dissapointing

Was a bit torn about leaving this review ; saw how highly rated it is. Had the raw beef steak Pho, the spring rolls (was hoping nem) and Vietnamese iced coffee. The coffee - great! But glass was 3/4 full of ice and didn’t feel there was a lot of coffee. The spring rolls, were so-so. Wrappers were thick and were not the delightfully chewy ones I thought. Filling was a bit mushy/one dimensional. The pho broth was nice ; anise forward, really aromatic and plenty of flavour. Noodles and herb selection were lovely. Beef however was very thin, tough and average in flavour and texture. Overall perfectly fine food, but I wouldn’t say 5 stars..

Our family go-to for fresh and delicious Vietnamese food. Big portions, and staff are always on call. Be careful careful you go as it can get very busy, even late at night, but even if you have to queue, you can be sure that it will be worth it!

We've been here a few times, and it never disappoints. I always know what I'm going to get: flavourful, well-made Vietnamese food with efficient service, in a crazy busy spot. I think there's a solid reason this place is packed all the time, and has been acknowledged as some of the best Vietnamese food in London. Have I had better phở in my life? Sure, but that doesn't mean this doesn't hit all the right notes as well. Nicely presented too. And the vibes are on point too, really welcoming, unassuming, and relaxed despite how busy it is. The softshell crab is so good. I find it difficult to do soft shell crab poorly, but sometimes it's better than others and this is the good stuff. It seems like I only come here when it's cold outside, so I never feel like the bún but it looks good on other people's tables. The pho is solid. Not overwhelmed with cilantro, unlike some places. The broth is good. It comes with Thai basil, mint, chilis, beansprouts and, excitingly: culantro! (Nuò gai!) Noodles are okay. The raw beef is high quality and exactly how I like it. Spring rolls weren't the best. Seemed a little chewy. Perhaps not the best rice paper. It does get absolutely packed in here at lunch, so it's best to arrive right when they open if you don't want a long wait. But turnover isn't that long since they're so efficient. I will say, in my personal opinion, egg coffee would make this place even better. 😉

We had a delicious lunch at Song Que today. There are numerous choices for Vietnamese food nearby, but we chose here because the restaurant was pretty crowded. Smart move! We had crispy spring rolls and summer rolls followed by stewed fish in clay pot. A perfect lunch. We noticed that this is a place with solo diners as well as families and moms with kids. A terrific restaurant!

Food is tremendous. Service is, let’s say efficient and quick. :) Good value, no nonsense place. I get why AA Gill rated it.

We reserved a table for 8pm on Saturday for 5 people. We arrived at 8.05 to find that the restaurant was very busy and that there were no available tables. We were told we would be sat down in 5 minutes but it was obvious that this was not going to happen. Other people who arrived after us were sat down. When I asked why we didn't have a table when we reserved I was told that we were late, not true and they could have called us anyway and that I was too rude and abusive, not true I merely pointed out that this was not good service. We were asked to leave and we duly did so. Never had had a worst experience and it was obvious that they were overbooked and wanted to get rid of us. Shame as we have very much enjoy the food on previous occasions.

The restaurant was full on our arrival, but we did not wait for very long before being seated. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. The was really nice and the staff were friendly. There was a mixup with our order but this was later resolved nicely. I would definitely recommend it. Table 11L. 😝

This is our go-to place for Vietnamese food in London for many years now and has also become the Viets spot for some of our friends. Hubby always goes for the Combo Beef Pho and I love their vermicelli noodles. For starters, we highly recommend Spicy Squid or Spicy Soft Shell Crab, Grilled Beef Wrapped in Betel Leaves and the Green Papaya Salad With Prawns. Sông Quê Café is a family run restaurant that has been here for many many years. The place can get quite busy but the team on site has always been friendly and attentive, and food generally gets served fast.
