What a great find! Sushi made to order, groceries and a variety of drinks. Interactive screen to order food. Staff friendly and attentive

This is part-restaurant and part-supermarket and this appears to be reflected in the way you have to order! When you arrive you find a "bar" on the left-hand side and the sushi kitchen on the right - and the two, although staffed by the same team, function independently! It's primarily designed as a take-away but you can sit and enjoy your food on the premises. But here an issue is raised! You can queue for you food beside a sake/beer fridge (Kirin: £2.40) but you can only purchase the beer to take-away. To buy a drink to eat-in you have to cross to the other side and then pay £2.90! This is more than a little odd! Anyway - that aside, the sushi and sashmi was very fresh and delicious and to be recommended!

Itsu in Ealing Broadway is a solid choice for healthy, Asian-inspired fast food. The ingredients are fresh, and the meals feel light yet satisfying. However, there’s a recurring issue that’s been noticeable since COVID – the way food is served. Before the pandemic, meals were presented on plates, making the dining experience feel more like a proper restaurant. Now, everything comes in paper cups. While this is understandable from an eco-friendly and efficiency standpoint, it’s also misleading. The in-store menu still shows plated meals, which gives customers a different expectation of what they’re ordering. Another issue is the lack of clarity about extra sides. There’s nothing on the menu indicating that additional sides will be mixed into the meal rather than served separately. This was an unexpected and disappointing surprise when the food arrived. Overall, the food quality remains high, but Itsu could improve transparency by updating their menu to reflect how dishes are actually served.

I stayed in London for two nights and had dinner there on both days. Everything tasted authentic to me as a Japanese. I was exhausted from the long trip, so Japanese food really hit the spot. My kids absolutely loved the natto rolls. It was expensive, but that’s understandable since natto is hard to find in the UK. Ordering a course meal for dinner is a good deal.
