Really disappointed today. Bought a loaf. Levain I think it's called. It was not fresh. I know because I bought the sane loaf a few days ago. I enjoyed it so much went back today for another. The one purchased today was definitely left over from yesterday. The least they could have done was reduced it as other local artisan bakeries do.

Small choice cafe, but pleasant. Surprised how little there was for breakfast, but the filled rolls and coffee decent.

On a recent visit to Edinburgh we happened to pass by this bakery which had a small number of tables inside. All the breads & cakes in the window looked so nice we decided to pop in for a light lunch. We both chose the smoked salmon sandwich which was served a fab bread roll. The coffee was great & the service really friendly & efficient.

There’s a line between Scandi and Characterless. Lovely coffee and pastries but unsmiling staff are one woollen jumper away from Nordic Noir. That and the startled reaction when customers ask if there’s WiFi. Somehow Soderberg in Soho ( London) actively promotes WiFi - unlike in Edinburgh where it appears to be seen as a passing fancy that will never catch on.

No customer WiFi!? Hilariously there are Track & Trace QR codes at every table - which require internet access. The staff are also distracted using the store (EPOS) WiFi on their phones. Totally bonkers.

Randomly walked past and saw the pastries in the window which was enough to make us go inside to look! We got a vanilla raspberry bun which was really nice. Amazingly soft brioche type texture with a lovely taste. Also got a scoop of the coffee ice cream which was also really good. Was quite a mild coffee taste (not an issue) and the ice cream had a great texture. The man who served us was very friendly and answered my questions politely. Highly recommend for lovely ice cream and pastries.

A great lovely place to enjoy some simple Swedish cuisine - the cakes are amazing I chose the cinnamon bun which was delicious after finding it very difficult to make a choice when faced with such a wonderful assortment , the staff are friendly and efficient , the atmosphere is busy and there were people queuing for seats which proves the popularity of the place

Small, but nice and typically Scandinavian in ambience and furnishings. My (overly expensive for a large/double) espresso (just 'coffee' in Italy) was one of the very best outside of Italy! Excellent! Very nice pastries and other snacks, although I did find my cinnamon bun quite - unexpectedly - dry... in fact, the driest cinnamon bun I've ever had. It could have been made better with some moistness of some appropriate sort inside. Staff not unpleasant nor unfriendly, but... perhaps a little bland or - unintentionally - standoff-ish?

Very good place to enjoy a coffee, sweets or eating something. We have been at lunchtime to eat something and we enjoyed 2 very delicious skinka baguettes with mozzarella, dried tomatoes, prosciutto and pesto sitting at the table. Small but nice. Good espresso coffee and a spongy chocolate pie with some coconut powder on the top. Located on Broughton street, not far from the city centre. Try it.

High end bakery offering breads, cakes, scones......that kind of thing. Quite a nice place to grab a snack or get lunch, but the prices are high and the food can be a little dry, so prepare yourself for butter.

We stopped in on our way to the AIRBNB apartment. It was noon and they had already sold out of salads and sandwiches except one. Obviously you have to get there early on weekends. I had a delicious lentil, spinach and lemon soup with the cheese, pickled onion and chutney sandwich. Very good.

From moment I stepped into this place I felt I wanted to sample the various delicious goodies they have on offer. The manager who was on duty the four mornings I went oozed professionalism and character. She made me feel very welcome. I can’t recommend this place high enough. Try the breakfast rolls - awesome, oh and the pastries and sweet stuff - equally awesome. Washed down with delightfully prepared coffee. I liked it so much I chose it as my breakfast destination for four consecutive days. Highly recommended!

We dropped in here to get some Swedish style cakes for the drive home (we had already had breakfast) as we have very good memories of them from our trip to Stockholm. We were not disappointed as they are very authentic tasting, although probably even better with coffee.

Today I took my girlfriend to the Broughton street cafe to enjoy a nice pastry and coffee as it is her birthday. I am a big fan of the cinnamon buns there and thought it would be nice to enjoy some with a coffee. However her birthday treat was instantly ruined when the extremely rude member of staff (a red head, on shift 02/11/2018) made an incredibly rude judgement. I ordered 3 cinnamon buns for us to have 1 and a half each, to which she responded "3??? Seriously?? Jeez guys, ok well if that's what you want I won't judge!" Now thankfully I don't have an eating disorder and happy about my weight etc but I hate to think of what would have happened if I was sensitive about my my weight or suffered from an eating disorder.

8am today. A coffee to go is obviously already too much effort to give a smile on top. Coffee is nice, but this is my third “grumpy/ignorant staff experience” in only two days, so I’ll skip this shop from now on.

Went twice over a couple of days during a business trip to Edinburgh.... One day was great - delicious cinnamon bun and good coffee. Next day very underwhelming, coffee tasted burnt and had a different pastry that was bland, tasteless, and dry. Sadly that was a takeout and didn't realise until it was too late!

They serve nice pastries and scones (I recommend the spelt scone), though the Swedish style of baking is a little heavy - a little goes a long way. The coffee is also good. It's not really a cafe, though - they have a few chairs and tables, but they don't really serve proper meals, it can get rammed, and it's kind of dark and uninviting. I always get the impression they'd rather you take out than sit in!

Soderberg is primarily a takeout with 4 tables that seat a total of 8 people. You can usually get a seat if you avoid lunchhour. There are no toilets for public use. It’s within striking distance of John Lewis down Broughton St.

Particularly on a rainy day, we might take in a morning movie at the Omni Vue and this Soderberg's is right on the way ... so a quick stop for takeaway coffee and scones has been such a success that we find we're going to the movies more often! LOL The fruited and savory scones are just delish and perfect for a late breakfast (while we enjoy our movie).

This is as it says on the tin, one of Soderberg's establishments and its a bakery so the spaces and seats and tables for on-site enjoyment of the snacks, coffee, breads and croissants are limited. Soups are also available and are good as is the coffee.

I called in here for a quick coffee on my way from the tram stop at York Place. I was pretty hungry as I had arrived off an early flight. I picked a sweet scone, nice but a bit on the hard side. I also had cappuccino which I would have preferred in a cup, great coffee and quite strong. Small and intimate but nice all the same

Came across this cafe, which is on the corner of Broughton Street and Forth Street, very near the Tram terminus. It sells wonderful breads - but I went in to chat with a colleague. There are only a few tables - since it is mostly a shop - and they served nice cappuccino coffee and a great sandwich/roll.

Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.
