Worst Korean food I have ever had in my life. I don't even know where to start. The gyoza were just frozen low quality industrial junk. The bibimbap was absolutely tasteless, the meat was dry, the vegetables dumped in the plate without any condiment or seasoning. The egg was overcooked, and the taste was overall appalling, I could not force myself to eat the thing. I can only recommend it if you are hypertensive, as they clearly did not even bother adding a pinch of salt. Looking at the other reviews up here, they have either changed chef, or decided myself and my party did not look Asian enough to deserve putting even the minimum effort in the cooking process. Would definitely not come back.

Ordered the galbi tang and fried chicken drumsticks with the hot bul sauce. Chicken is a little expensive but was fresh and crispy. The sauce tasted like hoisin with some spice. It wasn't very spicy, more sweet. I needed more heat. The galbi tang had great beefy depth and the meat was nice and tender. Portion size a little small for the price. Tteokbokki was good Bibimbap was small, very little meat and not in a hot stone bowl

I'm so happy to find the best Korean restaurant in london!!! It's far from my house, but I came here again and again. The chef was KOREAN and the staff were kind!! It's always fully booked, so make sure to make a reservation. It was exactly the same taste I had in Korea🇰🇷 My recommendations are meat noodles, spicy pig's feet, and garlic honey chicken 🫶🏻🫶🏻 The most Korean and delicious Korean restaurant I've ever had in London! It was my first time finding a place that sold meat noodles and spicy pig's feet, so I tried it out. The meat noodles had a really rich broth and a lot of portions, the pig's feet tasted like soju,,, and the garlic honey chicken was boneless and crispy, so delicious!! ㅠㅠ It’s an hour away from my house, but it’s a restaurant I plan on coming back to in the future!!

I don't think the positive reviews here are accurate. The food was bland and untasty. The korean BBQ meat came uncut and wasn't tasty, the fried chicken was extremely bland and very watery. Service was okay but nothing special. Wouldn't reconnect this restaurant unfortunately.

Stopped by randomly after work one evening and so pleased we did. The food was amazing. My husband usually orders BBQ at Korean restaurants, but this time we tried a few different dishes—and he said it was the best meal he’s ever had. We ordered deep fried dumplings, ddokbokki, fried chili mayo chicken (SO GOOD), chicken noodles, and kimchi fried rice - way too much for 2 of us but honestly, we couldn’t fault a thing and finished it all. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Originally, Jjambbong had a fiery taste and was as delicious as Korean, so I went there to eat it sometimes, but this time, it was just red pepper powder soup... ㅠ I guess the chef has changed, but the taste of the other dishes is also gradually changing. ㅠ

We drove an hour to this Korean restaurant on Sunday night. We have been there several times before and the food and service were both very good. I also recommended many friends to eat there. But this experience really shocked me. Every dish was bland and didn’t taste like Korean food at all. The seafood was soaked in boiling water and has no soup taste at all, even the rice was undercooked and turned completely solid after a while. We only asked to refund these two dishes but The waitress had a very bad attitude, despite we still paid the service fee. At around £50 per person, you would have planty of choices in London.I am a world foodie and I strongly suggest that for authentic Korean cuisine - choose elsewhere!

Visited a few times in the past, food was always excellent. But the recent experience was really disappointing - other than their generous potions, the taste was overall turned below average, most of dishes were under cooked which made the taste totally bland. Sadly, their food standards was far apart comparing with a couple of years ago. Furthermore, our comment wasn’t taking it seriously by their team, especially the female staff with contemptuously attitude. Whilst they claimed that the owner and kitchen staff are remain the same - How interesting!

I love jjampong, and the one I had in the UK was undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had. It was packed with seafood, which made it even more delicious. The sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk) was crispy, and the sauce was absolutely amazing. The side dishes were neat and tasty as well. I went there based on a friend’s recommendation, and I will definitely visit again next time with my family.

Brilliant service, the staff were so friendly and patient answering our questions. Attentive throughout our dining experience to help turn and off fire. When we came on Wednesday evening there were loads of empty seats, but my friend said on her previous visits it was pretty busy. We had the Gamja Tang hotpot which said on the menu recommend for 3 people but we were 2, it is a lot of food because we also ordered rice, stuffed after the meal. We originally were going to share one portion of rice but seeing the size of the rice, we ordered one more - the rice came in small bowls. First time having Korean hotpot, really enjoyed it, I haven’t seen any other places offer this option yet. The potato slices in the hotpot were so well cooked, the pork bones were so meaty and breaks apart easily, Chinese leaves in the soup just makes you want to keep eating. They gave us 3 side dishes which we didn’t order, bean sprouts, potatoes, pickled cucumbers, all of them were good! Drinks were okay, the sweet rice drink had this nutty flavour, I’ve had rice drink before but this for me was a bit too sweet.

I'm having it delivered and it's really delicious. Jjajangmyeon Jjamppong is also the familiar ‘delicious’ taste that we get delivered from Korea. Chicken, sweet and sour pork, kimchi stew, and galbitang are also delicious. I think you cooked the galbitang yourself. I had a good time.

Soft tofu soup tastes like Jambbong. Bossam does not come with any vegies they advertised. Pure disappointment.

Nice Korean restaurant in a random location! Food is good and they serve banchan with no extra fee. While I love all the menus here the chicken cchim (ahn-dong cchim dak) was nothing close to being authentic… the spice used was closer to being Chinese than Korean. Also it doesnt seem steamed but just boiled. Order something else!!

Nice little Korean restaurant tucked away from the Putney high street. Food is good and quite authentic and portions are large. Reservations are encouraged as it tends to get busy.

First order was ok, nothing special. Maybe I'm a little spoilt having experienced Morden Korean. But second time was epic fail, really odd tasting ingredients, never really had such tasteless Korean, normally you get packed flavours. The famous Korean fried chicken was as basic as a kebab shop (no offense to kebab shops). The beef short ribs, was tough, with odd mess selection of ingredients. Unsettled my stomach too. For the price you pay, you expect better quality and standard.

Had lunch - tteokbokki, naengmeon, garlic honey fried chicken. All excellent and well-sized portions. Banchan was actually very nice too. Service was friendly. Will be back.

This is one of the best Korean restaurants in London. First of all, the food is delicious, neat, friendly, and clean. In particular, Gamjatang is more delicious than in Korea, and I always order Gamjatang and Seasoned Chicken every time I go. It can be full on weekends, so I recommend making a reservation.

Our fav Korean restaurant in London. My Husband is Korean and if we really want to eat Korean food whilst we are outside, we always come here- even though its on the other side of London for us! Price is also affordable and food is truly authentic, which is hard to find despite the numerous amounts of Korean places out there now.

Came here again tonight! Still 5*. Go! Didn't quite believe all the 5* reviews here, but just been tonight and have to say that it was super good! Even if you have never eaten Korean food before I would recommend. It can be very hot and spicy, but there are lovely flavours and dips to compliment and the BBQ grill is fun. The waiting staff are very attentive too, and we look forward to going back.

The absolute best and closest Ganja Tang to South Korea. The Yuk Gae Jang is equally delightful. Fried chicken was abit disappointing especially after it cools down as the flavors and crispiness fades.

It is a nice street restaurant with high quality food ingredients and chef good cooking skills. It is rare to find any restaurant nowadays offer quality food at this price. However, the taste is not what people usually expect from Korean food. I order few things, the taste and sometimes the looking is not what I expect. Forget about the Korean part,just think about the food itself, the flavour is still a bit weird, it doesn’t taste good, just about ok. But when considering it is Korean food, we shall have expectations of the taste, which this is even below the average. The food quality and decent cooking saved the dish. You can trust both positive and negative reviews, this is good food, but taste doesn’t satisfy.

Perhaps it was a bad night. But it wasn’t very busy so can only review on the bases of my personal experience. After hearing great things and dying to try Korean brought my family here and was disappointed when the waitress gave little assistance in ordering. Then the food arrived and most of it was terribly bland. The Yamyang chicken was great and this on its own saved it from getting two stars.

Our two Korean friends recommended this place. They said some of the Korean diaspora that lives in London loves Sodaeng. I can see why. The menu is extensive, presents great value for money, and the food was delicious. Our spring onion omelette and fried chicken starters were amazing, and the ribs kimchi stew was a Korean epicurean tour de force delight. Will come back to try other things, including the bbq.

We chose korean bbq for dinner at Soedang. Service was very attentive and its a fun bonding experience to make food together. Galbi (short rib) and pork belly were both good. Menu could do with a few more beef options outside of steak / short rib. We did ask for salt & pep to enhance meat flavour. Kongnamul and muchim were great, but i’ve had better pickled daikon. Cass beer was a 10/10 + ice cold. If you order lettuce you get a generous portion & the boiled rice is perfectly cooked and fluffy. A great entry into korean bbq ! Thank you!

Ordered on Deliveroo and as takeaways go this surpassed my expectations. I ordered the squid (starter) and noodles with chicken. Impressive overall, quality was really good. And the chicken and noodles had a nice mix of veg and sauce. Nice depth. Well done team and thanks for keeping a good standard - hard to find.

This was undoubtedly one of the best Korean places to get takeaway from. I was happy, my tummy way happy. Their star dishes are without a doubt their star dishes, so give them a go. I doubt you'll regret it !

We went on a busy Sunday evening. Food was amazing and service was mind blowing. That Nepali boy was everywhere and really attentive. I forget to ask his name but he delivered an excellent service to us. He keeps on asking us if we need something throughout the period. Although restaurant is little bit away from High street it was really busy and we feel lucky to get the table. We will obviously come back.

Got in 19:45pm and being told it's fully booked and there is no table to serve. We've asked if we can wait, unfortunately sent back home. On the way out, we turned back to make a reservation for a bit later time but then saw three empty tables - the staff mentioned they're apprently available but she didn't show them as she thought we might not like it. She then added that the restaurant won't take order from 20:00pm so we walked out. Looking at Google review - I can see other people already left a comment regarding staff treating people unfairly ? suppose they met the same staff, given their experience seems exactly the same as ours.

Authentic korean food at reasonable price!

A wonderful surprise, my first Korean restaurant, and so lucky it’s in Putney!! In a nutshell, delicious food, and this place made me realise I love ❤️ Korean food 🤩 I should’ve noted the names of the dishes we’d ordered, we were 4 of us: - As starters we ordered squid, and dumplings - look at the photo - And as main, I was the odd one out and ordered a lovely spicy pork fillet while all others went for the seafood stew, which gets cooked on the stove in the table - again take a pip at the photos Flavours were unexpected and delightful, different, and leaving you with that feeling to be back soon! No wonder it took many calls and weeks until we managed to get a table… Will definitely be back soon, highly recommend!!! :)

Most incredibly delicious dishes, specifically their Kimchee fried rice, Bibimbap, and Japchae - which my family and I must have every week or 2. Hands down best Korean in London! Staff really lovely and kind as well, such a gem of a restaurant.

There are no complaints food wise, however the main fault seems to be the training of staff. The Korean waiter served us the wrong meal and she rudely took it back without saying anything. Also, our table bell was not working, so we had to wait for her endlessly. It was no big deal for sure, however she constantly ignored us when we asked her for help. If the staff attitude and service can be improved, then I think the rating can go up by 1 star. It’s such a shame that other reviews have praised the service, but it seems to be lacking in consistency.

I was worried about adding this review. Because I don’t want Sodaeng to get any busier. It is a wonderful, cosy and authentic Korean restaurant. The staff are charming, the food is just brilliant. I wont really add much more, only to say I can’t quite believe I haven’t found this place sooner. Delicious 😋

I am so happy to have a Korean restaurant nearby but I have had better quality meats before for bbq. I still think the food was good but what made the experience a bit less enjoyable was the staff. There were couple of miss-haps with the order and the staff was unable to give us recommendations and support when ordering the food. Hoping to visit again at some-point and have a different experience

Genuinely couldn't fault the place. All of our meals were fantastic. The food was spicy but a good level. Service was great - attentive without being intrusive. Also the price was fair and the portions were good. Not a local but will be returning.

Amazing Korean restaurant in London! Come to Putney, visit Sodaeng and you will have a great culinary Korean experience. The food is delicious, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Several options in the menu as starters, mains,hot pots and bbqs, to propose a wide range of the Korean kitchen proposals. The restaurant is lovely and the service is excellent. Great value for money, and place highly recommended.

One of the best Food Quality/Price I have been in London! The place is cozy with a few tables and you are able to order via app once at the table. There is plenty of choice in the menu for all taste, but we decided to go with a few starters (recommend Ddok Bokki - slightly spicy) and a Ox Bone Broth (amazing)! We tried both the standard Bone broth (Galbi Tang) and the slightly spicier version (Ogeoji Galbi Tang). Both were incredible in terms of size and flavour. The Price was definitely modest for London standards compared to the quality of the food. Been here twice and would definitely come back.

Delicious Korean BBQ food, able to order via a QR code on the table and then they will bring everything over. All of the food was delicious, and the free sides that came were the best I've had of any Korean bbq before!

Everything was very well wrapped and not a spillage. Always appreciate that especially seeing how some delivery guys just tip them into the bags. Food was lovely and a good portion size too.
