Good food and great service by all the team members specially the waitresses and supervisor were very gentle.

We ate here the first night in London & the service was not great and the food was very average and expensive. Did not eat there again.

Fantastic comfortable surroundings and the staff are amazing…attentive, friendly and efficient! Food was fantastic particularly the Chicken and the Steak ❤️ Cocktails were great too!

Food good. Service was below average due to new member of staff. Didn’t no how to serve the champagne considering how much the bill was. Disappointed that we could not get a table at the cocktail bar. Then to be told the cigar lounge was closed due to wet weather even though at the time it wasn’t raining. I only booked Dukes due to the fact I had heard how good the cocktail bar was and the fact of having a cigar lounge. Basically disappointed.

Wow. What a meal. Everything was executed perfectly. The pork was perfectly cooked, the lamb a perfect flavour. Best mackerel outside of the Netherlands and Scotland. Asparagus was gorgeous. The meal was extremely reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Michelin should be in there soon so get it before this before you can't get in this restaurant.

Lovely place in the Dukes hotel tried to go for a drink first in the bar but there was no where to sit and people waiting outside so a good tip prebook the bar and the restaurant although the restaurant was very quiet all evening so another tip don’t book because they take a £25 per head deposit if you don’t give a few days notice to cancel, so if you were sick on the day either turn even if you had Covid or lose your deposit Food was great and all dishes come as small or large plates so you mix and match your starters and mains, the wine prices can be a little lively, £65 for a Pinot Grigio really! But the French house wine and Italian red were a good price. Service was great but there were only a few guests. To serve so it should be.

In a lovely tucked away side street, friendly and peaceful restaurant. A little pricey for the quality of the food.

Don’t expect the Dukes bar experience down at the GBR. Our server told us that could replicate the martini and that was the only cocktail served. Only beer and wine other than that. It was a terrible martini and way overpriced. The table next to us however had several cocktails so not sure why the option wasn’t available to us. The server had no clue what she was doing. The menu was not clear. Food was decent. My steak was under cooked but my husband enjoyed his food. For the price I say skip it and just go to the bar.

We wanted a special meal before going to Buckingham Palace, and GBR had delicious food, perfect ambiance, and friendly staff, all at a reasonable price.

This is a perfect location for a meeting. It is quiet and tables aren't too close together. The food was excellent. The staff was lovely, maybe a little slow. But in general very good. I would definitely rebook

Staff on rotation or having an extremely bad day. Food nice, value good. But 90 mins before anything arrived.

Me and 8 friends came to Hilton London Olympia Society Bar in the evening. We ordered drinks and were served. Shortly after sitting down to have our drinks a female staff member approached us and told us that we had to leave as only hotel guests were allowed in the bar after 11pm. At no point when we ordered were we told this. We explained this to the staff member that we'd just ordered and could we at least finish our drinks, but the staff member was extremely rude (I don't think i've ever been spoken to like that at a hotel in my life), and said 'no- out, you have to go immediately'. No apologies, no understanding that it was their fault that they let us order in the first place without telling us, and no communication skills. The staff member was SO rude and it was outrageous to let us all spend money and then tell us we had to leave. Disgusting customer service, and really upsetting.

Found this place last minute. Did the winter prefix which was a 3 course meal. Fantastic service and the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. It was a Friday evening and my wife and I were the only people in the place which seemed odd. How is this place not booked all the time?!?

Too be totally honest we really enjoyed the meal. I had the Neck of Lamb within the £35 set menu and my partner had the Monkfish “ Scampi “ which was also very nice. After that this is where I would urge caution. Be wary of having a drink in the bar , which is a must though , as a Bloody Mary and Coke came to £28.75p !

Late night drink while staying there. May lbe should look at staying open a bit longer then midnight for hotel guests. But overall good atmosphere 👌

Great staff and delicious food.

We went Saturday lunch time which was quite quiet, as expected. We had the fixed price winter menu which was both delicious and great value. We are in fact so happy, we going back in a couple of weeks time.

Lovely tasty breakfast at BGR, met for a breakfast meeting and they kindly put us on the very quiet side so we wouldn’t be disturbed. Service was good, and food was excellent.

Fantastic everything - speed (we had to get to theatre, and arrived 15 mins late for the table), through to service, and especially food. Weekday winter set menu also such good value, given West End location. WILL be back...

Fabulous restaurant- quick food service, and the flavours of dishes were amazing. Highly recommend Plus it was my daughters birthday and all the floor staff came to sing her happy birthday with a free cake. So special.

While the food was good It didn't appear to belong to any particular ethnic background regardless of the fact that it was sold as "British". The service could have been a bit faster. Unfortunately the ambience was quite cold, aseptic. It could improve.

Wonderful last-minute booking at Dukes. The restaurant is part of the hotel. Service by our waitress Mercedes was wonderful and very attentive. We went with the dinner menu and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativily of the dishes. Try the salman as a starter or the lamb as a main. Beautiful surroundings for a great value evening. Recommended.

Ludicrously expensive, we were double charged and when we challenged this I was told I was incorrect. Upon inspection it was the manager who was incorrect and we were charged accordingly but I was still charged the double service charge as if I had six for dinner as opposed to three…

wonderful place from concept to food. i enjoy that you can all dishes on the all-day dining menu in a starter size, that way you can get to taste more different plates of food. will come back every single time i'm in london!

Good quality restaurant in Dukes hotel, home of the legendary cocktail bar. Food was very good, service was good but not great. Value reasonable considering the location. Overall a good experience although I would not rush back there since there are so many options in the area.

Avoid at all costs. Complete chaos of service, food was mediocre at best and steaks were cooked medium well when asked for medium rare… and they gave attitude when asked to replace.

Big disappointment—very poor service, servers with little experience, dry turkey, overall poor Christmas Eve experience.

We ordered from their 2 course set menu. I had the salmon starter and the fish main. My friend ordered the scotch egg starter and the turkey ballotine. His scotch egg was very good. The other items were okay. My niece ordered the small size hamburger and chips. She enjoyed them. The staff was not particularly attentive. I had to practically chase someone down to order a second glass of wine. With the many stellar options available in London, GBR will need to step up.

Society restaurant and bar Very slow service and the food is not horrible I had a pizza which took them half an hour to bake and came cold and disgusting. Red wine in 185 glass but does not look at all as the right scale. I don’t recommend the food there. Nice places close are much more better

Food was well cooked but bland. We ordered the beetroot salad and aubergine as starters followed by the lamb neck and monkfish fish and chips as mains. Both starters were bland; the beetroot salad also had way too much of these cheese/butter mix that overwhelmed the vegetables. Shame because the variety of beets were very good; perfectly pickled and dressed as well. The aubergine was simply under seasoned. The lamb neck was very good as well as the monkfish, crispy and light batter fried and not over cooked nor dry. Chips could’ve been crispier. Paid 75 quid for the whole thing which is in the pricier side. Would rate this a $$$ rather than the $$ that Google gives it.

After having wanted to dine at the Dukes Hotel for a long time, I was left disappointed by the poor service myself and better half received. We had to wait 25 minutes to be brought water, and then I had to approach the staff myself to order a bottle of wine and starters. Whilst the food was fantastic, it was shame that this let the full experience down somewhat.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this restaurant was the most expensive and least attentive experience I've had in years. All the staff didn't seem to know the menu when asked about allergies. I don't at all blame the staff, this is a management issue. You should train your staff and give them the time to learn your menu. Why bother having a chefs menu if your staff don't know the menu. Bringing two bottles of water when you're charging £6 a bottle is a bit cheeky too. I'm fine with a expensive meal, but I want a waited on experience that reflects the price. The food was delicious, but small serves and expensive. Nice location too, but these things just didn't add enough value overall.

GBR at DUKES London is a marvel of the palate, the menu was full of fantastic examples of British cuisine delivered with an elegant finish with sustainability, tradition and innovation at its heart. The restaurant itself has a wonderful aurora tucked inside the beautiful hotel and the team members were all fabulously attentive and genuinely friendly. An amazing experience for myself and my partner on her birthday! I am sure that we will visit again Flawless...

Was not happy that we spent a valuable evening, when we were told there was no dessert option available anymore within the kids menu towards the end of our meal. We could see there was a small selection of desserts in the beginning of our meal, then the staff changed their mind. We had to go elsewhere and have a dessert.

The place is decent enough the girls were really nice and friendly. The food was awful. Had the steak and kidney pie. For £20 should have been amazing. Could have got better at a chips shopping. My colleagues sea bas looked ok. Was a business lunch and had more important things than the food so didn’t bother complaining. Was £99 for two with wine no starters no desert! Felt very ripped off. Sack the chef!

Another truly excellent meal with incredibly tasty dishes from the fixed price Autumn menu ( we had to remind them we’d booked for that option) and very good red wine. Super attentive service and a very delightful dessert course. Some might find the portions small but given the range of tastes and quality of the food we didn’t find this an issue. This is one of our favourite restaurants in London.

The Autumn set menu wasn’t available as advertised but the service was very good and the food was delicious.

To be honest I was disappointed with the food and service. Maybe there wasn’t enough trained staff as we had to wait a while before our order was taken. The lady serving us was very good but the restaurant wasn’t busy and it was a while before the food was served. We were warned the portions would not be big and they were right. It would have helped if they had offered bread before hand, which they normally do at high end restaurants. It’s a great location and will return when they change the menu.

This sounded like a really cool place and we were so excited to get a steak. If you enjoy an American steak this is not for you. It was just awful. We ordered 5 steaks and no one could eat them. We had the ribeye and fillet. The sides were fine, and the restaurant was quiet. There was only two other tables even in the place. Def would not recommend this for the price you will pay.

Really bad service. No Hostess and told to simply pick a table. Then sat for over 10 minutes before anyone even came over to the table. Ended up walking out and eating elsewhere. Really a stain on the Hilton name

Quiet central hotel in London ideal for a celebration

I had a business lunch on 16th August. We had a fantastic sommelier/waiter. He was very helpful and could not have been more attentive. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend the monkfish scampi and neck of lamb. The ambience was great.

This was my second time eating here, for a 14:00 sitting, two of us. Excellent food, and outstanding presentation, for the set course meal (not large portions, which I thought was great, just really quality food). Fairly noisy though (one other table of people, it was more due to many tables being moved around when we were easting, and all cutlery taken off tables, and replaced, in prep for high tea). Food took a LONG time to get to use, for every courses. It was nice talking with my friend, but I wasn't used to such long periods (10-20' between when plates were finished and next one brought out). Will definitely be back, as such a nice menu.

Excellent lunch time meal for four of us! Really nicely prepared foodie level British food, not too large proportions (good!) but very beautiful. Two of us had two-course set menu, and one (the 12 year old) a burger. All enjoyed all dishes. Very quiet, and well worth a second visit. Minor: Wine fairly expensive (not unusual for a place at this level) at £10 a glass.

We enjoyed our lunch, very much. Some of the staff were very new but they were enthusiastic and keen. The food was so good, we had 3 courses, with wine and the Manager was kind enough to let us try the white and red before we decided. The staff were friendly and eager to help. We went up to the cocktail bar for their world famous martinis. Mr Bond would not be disappointed. Again the staff were excellent, knowledgeable and keen to talk about the drinks and the bar's history. Fascinating. We would recommend this little gem, it will now be our go to place in the City. Go it's worth it.

Service and food are of an exemplary standard. The staff could not be more helpful. Starters and mains were delicious, with the fillet steak worthy of special merit. Definitely recommend.

British cuisine can be difficult to navigate, even 'modern' British cuisine, but GBR does it well, with a menu that has many tasty-sounding choices. It's a very good, casual restaurant, and Dukes is the perfect place for it.

Fantastic service. All the staff were lovely friendly, and helpful. It did take a while for my afternoon tea to be served, but the manager kindly offered me a complimentary coffee to help me pass some of the time. The portions are generous, and all the food was great. They even offered me another coffee to take with me when I leave but I was so stuffed I had to say no! Highly recommend.

It been thirty years since I'd visited the Dukes and of course it's changed. The food and service were excellent, but it lacked the old Dukes. The dining room has been updated and I don't think for the better. Before it was pictures painted bon pages of the Financial Times. Now it's black and white pictures of old film stars. No idea why. The old world charm of the room it self has gone. Replaced by a modern vibe, which I don't think is in keeping with the age of the hotel. In short, the food and service are the old Dukes, but the rest isn't and I miss it.

Recognition on the staff Denesa. She is very polite efficient and calm while the electricity had problem that night and short of staff for awhile. Feeling like friends and we enjoyed so much. Food is absolutely delicious and potion is adequate . I can say this is one of the best value restaurants in London.

Superb restaurant, slightly off the beaten track but deserves to be regularly visited.

The first course of fish was served luke warm . I told the maitre who said sorry but did not offer to replace it or offer an alternative. The second course was supposed to be duck leg confit but it was only a slice of breast with no crispy skin. I did not order desert because I had lost confidence. When I got home I sent GBR an email but 2 days later they have not replied.

We visited GBR at Duke’s for a birthday celebration lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The bar and dining area was very nice with comfortable seating. The atmosphere was perfect without it being noisy, it was just right. The food was delicious; I recommend the Lancashire “hot pot”; so tasty. The staff were very professional, friendly and attentive. When we finished our meal a member of staff surprised me with a small cake with lit candle; it was so nice and it was very much appreciated. Thank you to all the staff at GBR at Duke’s for making my day so memorable. Highly recommend.

Quiet and intimate restaurant. Can have a conversation and hear one another. The food was delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. There are very few restaurants in London that I would visit again, and this is one of them.

Another very good visit to GBR - very attentive an helpful service. The 2 for 1 offer helped considerably with the value of the deal but I miss the menu fixe option. There was a long wait for the dessert course which didn’t bother us and indeed helped given the size of the plum pudding that arrived. Fortunately the loud and inconsiderate man and his 3 colleagues seated on the next table was relocated to the other end of the restaurant after his demands ( whinges) were acceded to by the Maitresse d’. She handled things perfectly and so maintained the quiet and enjoyable ambience for all the guests.

I recently dined at GBR for an early business lunch - the food was good, the staff attentive and because it was early the restaurant was quieter than a church mouse. The menu won't be to everyone's taste since there are no specific starter only "small plates and "big plates" of the same food. That said there's a reasonably wide choice so should cater to most tastes.
