Great place that relies on tourism and local drinkers, statements like “social club” what do people want, it’s a good pint less than £5 it’s a massive plate of food for £12/13 it’s in a beautiful area, the staff are spot on, the owner is spot on, of course everything in life could do with a spruce up blah blah blah, this is real people a proper run family business paying local people’s wages, I think it’s brilliant and so close to do snowdon, I’ll be back with more of us 👏✅✅✅👏

Lovely pub, only a few minutes from our campsite. I had ham chips and salad, reminiscent of teas with my granny. My husband had the snowdonia burger, both super tasty and fresh . We sat outside , dog friendly, staff lovely, would highly recommend

I agree with the reviewer who said this place has a social club-type feel. The place could do with a bit of sprucing up and, because of these elements, it does feel like the prices for meals are too high. However, the location is good, staff were friendly, we did enjoy our main meals and the portions were quite large. The puddings were expensive and disappointing though. We wouldn't rush back but wouldn't rule out a return if we had no luck with an alternative.

After reading other reviews I was a little dubious. The pub isn’t a pub as such, more of a social club feel and given it’s a micro brewery the beer selection was a little disappointing. The food however was good, chicken pie with big chunks of chicken breast and lean ham, lots of chips and (slightly cold) veg. Campsite showers are fantastic!

Called here after a very wet day up in the mountains only to end the day with the most fabulous Roast Dinner. Food was piping hot with roast potatoes to die for and delicious gravy. The veg was cooked to perfection too. Will most definitely call here again when we next ride out on our horses up the mountains but hoping for better weather next time.

Really nice food, came here twice, first for a steak then a 4oZ Welsh burger, the wife had steak and ale pie with the best puff pastry I’ve ever seen, so flakey, they steaks and burgers were great, nice and fat and juicy. The kids had the beef dinner and fish fingers, all meals were either with fresh salad or chips, other choices were new potatoes and veg. Overall a great pub, loads of space with a kids play park on the back, they even make their own beer, with a onsite micro brewery. They also back onto a camp site

We didn't eat here but this is a brewing pub, with a fully serviced campsite adjoining, in the lee of the mountains, right next dor to the steam railway station of Waunfawr on the Welsh Highland Railway. Hits all the right spots. We stayed for three night on the campsite in our Motorhome. The beer was good, it must be nice in the pub when it is a bit busier, very quiet on damp nights in early July. Clean loo and shower block with a laundry too. Loved it here.

They have a nice selection of brew selections on tap. I liked the Theodore Stout as an alternative to Guinness, which they also have. The pub grub is mostly typical, but I tried the Giant Yorkie Pud (with sausage) and found it to be excellent, with a generous amount of vegetables. For dessert, the Apple Crumble and Custard was yummy and steaming hot.

It was Hallowe'en, it was pouring with rain, I was staying locally, I was hungry, there was nowhere else to eat. So I chose Tafarn Snowdonia Parc in Waunfawr, Gwynedd. I can't say I wish I hadn't, because otherwise I wouldn't have eaten at all. But this will not go down as a memorable dining experience. The pub was packed. There were at least two Hallowe'en parties in full romp, with gruesome kids screaming and running around. There was a quieter room at the back where non-Hallowe'eners could gather, and we chose that. We waited at the bar, and eventually someone came and took our drinks order. Later a waitress came to our table and took the food order. The menu was the standard very basic British pub food — steak, pie, fish and chips (my choice), gammon steak, cottage pie, scampi. It took quite a while to come (I'd finished my beer) and when it did come I recognised an old acquaintance — The Pub With No Chef. I would be very surprised if there was a cook involved in any stage of this process, which I guess would have gone Freezer > Microwave > Table. Great for the pub's bottom line, not good for the hapless client, i.e. Me.I ate it. I was hungry. But meanwhile I wanted another beer, and the laughing waitress refused to get one for me. So I had to stand and wait at the bar while the bar staff cleared up the other rooms after the children's parties. That took ten minutes. My chips were soggy, then of course they may have been soggy before I went to the bar.At least it was cheapish. And out of the rain. I can't really think of anything positive to say, I'm afraid. Foreign tourists coming to Britain and encountering this will have their worst fears about British food confirmed. And come they will, because it's right by Waunfawr Station on the Welsh Highland Railway. So sad.

Having read all the reviews before booking I was aware of the poor toilet facilities but was surprised at how poor. One reviewer stated that's it's camping so we should be ready for it. Perhaps they didn't camp during a rainy, drizzling cold Easter. We walked up snowdon and the met office said it would feel like -5. No kidding, it was a howling gale and soaking. When we got back the showers were across the whole camp and a railway bridge. Then when you get there there's no hot water as the power is off because someone had apparently used a 1kw heater! Two nights in a row we had no power. The 2 toilets we did get became dirty really quickly with the rain and grass cuttings everywhere and the one tiny sink blocked for three days. I paid for six of us and it cost me £192 and I expected a modern toilet block for this kind of money. Ohh and extra for electric. What made matters worse was the toilets were next to our unit and you could see the pot and hear people returning from the pub late and exclaiming "oh my god". Nice

What are the bonus features? Well for starters there is direct access to the Welsh Highland railway from the site, (see my separate review of this) next is the great brewery-pub serving food and finally, loads of space and no naggy micro managing rules or metered electric like on some sites, - just common sense. This is a great site for families, walkers, groups, people with dogs, real ale lovers, those who like wild camping and those who like a managed pitch or like us, somewhere in between - oh did I mention rail enthusiasts? So plenty to like here.We brought a caravan and because we booked late, only the overflow field (usually mainly tents) was available. I was a little apprehensive but as it turned out for us, it was perfect. When arriving turn into the pub car park plenty of room, park up then go into the pub to book in. Most will be directed to a pitch on the main site these looked all well managed with some hard and some grass from what i could see. For us it was a bit of a weird approach to the field following the road through the main site the over the level crossing but the path is good all the way around. There are two electric hook ups at the bottom end of the field near the toilet block and a water tap. A footbridge leads directly to the station platform (steam trains only 3 times a day each way in the day only so not noisy) or to the pub/car park. Huge field so other tents not a problem and the toilet block and dishwashing/laundry room close by. The view from the caravan was beautiful looking the other side and front and it wasn't noisy or too busy. Only thing to be aware of is that the centre and lower end of the field becomes very boggy in wet weather so best stay over to the toilet block side. There is a patch of slatey shingle that makes a great dry pitch. A caretaker said it was fine to park in front of the gate. Regrettably we didn't realise this at first and got stuck not having a 4x4 however the motor mover and a group of friendly lads from the tents pushed us out OK. We came primarily for the railway but it's perfect for anyone wanting a bit of peace in the country side.Note other reviews about the toilet block. I only went to the one over the railway bridge and yes it's basic but always very clean and plenty of soap, toilet paper and hot water. Showers were good and hot. Bins were always empty and the laundry/dishwashing clean and appeared all well maintained. We are here Easter bank holiday so presumably a busy time. Restaurant - agree not the cheapest in the world at an average of £10 per main course but good portions, a pleasing menu, tasty and very hot. I had scampi hubby had steak and ale pie all very nice. Could not eat desert as meals were very substantial. Kids meals but i can't comment as we didn't have children with us. I think there is an outside play area that looked very nicely kept. Outside tables for nice days which no doubt are popular. Service excellent friendly and quick even though they were busy and we got a table without waiting. There are three lounges two with pool tables pub priced beer - agree not cheap but small businesses have to make a profit or say hello to another Spoons or haven so we don't mind paying a bit extra to support local economy. You can always go and buy your own beer and just have from the pub what your budget extends to but it was fun trying out then we're brewed onsite and they were really very good. It would be a shame however to miss the ambience of the bar - dress code is anything you want it to be including wellies! So all in all very agreeable stay, even if the weather was not it's best for us, we still have a few more days to go but would certainly return and are thinking of booking in for the beer festival in May.

Report to the pub and check in. The campsite is not that big, the area we were camping all the pitches are clearly numbed and quite large with the option for an electric hookup.Due to our late arrival we had dinner in the pub, we must have waited nearly an hour for the food to arrive, it did give us a chance to try the beer from the pubs own microbrewery. When the food finally arrived it was very good and quite reasonably priced. As for the local ale over the four days we had a few!The camp area is split into two with one side having numbered pitches and the other just set up camp where ever you want. The two camping areas are separated by the Waunfawr train station for Welsh Highland. The whole area is surrounded by tress and hills. It's just a short drive to a good size town with a number of shops and supermarkets. Also not to far away is the foot of Snowdon Good location good size camping area great pub with very friendly and helpful staff, the only down side is the toilet and shower block, it needs a refresh or rebuild and Snowdonia Parc would be five stars.

The beer is great but the food is truly terrible. I ate here twice and on both nights the food had clearly been pre-cooked and reheated so that the sausages were dry and the mash was chewy. Just returned from a 5 night camping trip at this campsite. I'll start with the good points location very good for walking the mountains pretty much central to a lot of attractions towns and villages. Campsite is very good plenty of space with a train station along side. Pub very good with local ales at only 2.95 a pint with lovely food. Now for the bad points thin bins was only emptied once in 4 days their was 2 toilet blocks 1 comunial I used it once never again stinking dirty in desperate need of cleaning and a coat of paint. The second toilet block male only including showers wasn't much better don't think they were cleaned in weeks if not months. And before you say what do you expect it's camping well I can tell you I can tell I've ruffled it with the best of um but when you go to a toilet the last thing to be thinking is i hope I don't catch anything. As for the showers is a place you to get cleaned up not frightened to touch anything. So for my stay i went back to basics hot soapy water and a bucket simple but clean. It saddens me to give bad feed back as I'm easily pleased these places ask for reviews good or bad so had to be said.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at Snowdonia Park Brewpub Site, one thing I will say from the outset the site is very relaxed with regards site layout (we had 3 tents and a campervan set-out in a semicircle), the view from the site is breathtaking and the staff are very friendly and helpful. With the good bit over now over to the not so good. We were lucky to start our holiday on a quiet week so the site was adequate to the point of being a 3 stared review but the last night ruined it and reduced the 3 to a 2, so many tents and caravans crammed into a small space packed with a certain type of clientele that would be frowned upon but other sites, our very large group of 11 adults and 4 children weren't the quietest during the day but always respectful and the nights were always reined in the same can't be said for the groups that turned up on our last night, one group had a dragged with them a hoard of unwashed urchins who's dreadful behaviour resulted in my 5 year old son not wanting to use the toilets on his own (these he had been happily all week as they were a stones throw from our pitch and was always in view) blocking other children from using the toilets and when that didn't work surrounding and intimidating a 5 year old is not the behaviour that should be tolerated on a "family friendly" campsite, the second group were not so bad clearly seasoned caravanners they had a fantastic setup but did have the music on a little loud till silly o'clock they were however very apologetic when one of our group asked them to keep it down at around 3am, and the third group (a group of males there for a lads weekender) were also very loud considering there was two wooded areas and a railway station between us I could make out several of the conversations this in itself wasn't that bad but when I took my son for a shower two blokes from this group entered for a shower carrying a bottle of beer each I will say that although drunk I didn't hear any bad language from them which does go a little way to make up for this. Now most will have noticed I have yet to mention the facilities, well this I felt requires a separate rant all of its own, the reviews on here don't go far enough to explain the poor quality of the showers and toilets, being an HGV driver I am used to appalling showers, but these really bad, the women of our group were lucky to get showers they can control themselves obviously us blokes can't be trusted with that sort of sorcery, but both lacked a certain level of cleanliness you would expect for a campsite shower room all filled with grass from the site, one of our party even found that another site guest had decided the drains were working too efficiently and felt they required blocking with toilet paper, which was helpful, the men's toilet nearest the wash basins had two snails that had been interrupted mid slither by someone opening the cubicle door onto them causing them to become a broken gooey mass of slime and shell, there they remained for two days before being removed, but atleast the toilets had a proper seat unlike the two unisex toilets in the field, these were two cubicles consisting of a stainless steel toilet bowl with no seat just two wooden blocks on either side, but one baffling thing kept happening in these toilets the amount of paper other campers managed to miss the toilet with leaving loads of heaped paper trails was extraordinary, these did however get swept every so often but I suspect this was by other guests not any cleaning staff, one saving grace for us was that 90% of our stay the site was almost empty so no issue with shower pressure or heat and no queue. The bins weren't collected until four days into our stay despite overflowing. And as for the insects I would recommend a strong repellent or a blow-torch my whole party are suffering with multiple insect bites. The pitches are of decent size but many are sloped or uneven and the ground is very rocky so a set of pegs to suit would be advisable, we had pitches 6 - 9 and apart from a little mud by the road at the bottom were draining well considering the rain. I only went to the pub once on the last day for a meal, the food was excellent some of the group that sampled the own brew on offer thought it was good and the service was not bad although maybe a little slow but they were busy at the time so that they can be forgiven. So to recap a potentially fantastic site set in the foot hills of Snowdon with idyllic views of the mountains and the stars at night and were it not for the frankly disgraceful toilets, showers that left a little to be desired and a view that site etiquette can be thrown out upon entering their gates. Its because of the above I cannot recommend this site to anyone.

Visited twice for dinner during my stay near here. I only tried the ciders, but they apparently have award winning beers. In total, my table tried and enjoyed:the Welsh BreakfastCottage pie Bangers and mashHam sandwich (baguette was superior to bun)Beef pie Chicken pieEach meal was under £10 and was huge. Standard pub rules apply, meaning you grab a menu, order and pay at the bar when ready, then have your food delivered to your table. The women's bathroom has fun tropical fish toilet seats worth visiting.

Teetotallers beware. If for any reason you don't want to sample their range of home brewed products, expect to be treated like something on the bottom of their shoe. My husband suggested we try here for lunch while on holiday in the area, and the plan was that if we liked it, we would come back for an evening meal later in the week by taxi so that my husband could try their beer as he is a big fan of real ale.As my husband never drinks and drives, and I am permanently on medication that precludes the drinking of alcohol, we would only be having soft drinks with lunch. When we told the server at the bar this, without a word she turned from us and proceeded to give samples to the group behind us while we were left to find a menu ourselves. When we had found a menu and decided what we wanted my husband went back to the bar to wait for the server to finish dealing with the aforementioned group, but as soon as she finished serving their drinks (we heard no mention of a food order) she turned from my husband and left the bar, and my husband had to wait for another server to come to take our food order (who seemed equally annoyed at our only wanting soft drinks)The food itself was really nice, well cooked, & tasty, but we felt that the excellent efforts of the kitchen staff were seriously let down by the attitude of the servers. As a footnote to our experience, we discovered that whoever owns this establishment only believes in following the letter of the law, but not its spirit, when it comes to providing toilet facilities for the disabled (which my husband & I both are.) The 'room' that they laughingly call a disabled toilet is so small that anyone in a wheelchair would find it nearly impossible to use on their own and anyone who needed a carer in with them would have no choice but to hold it.

We always drop into this pub when we're over here. The food is very good, home cooked with a choice of veg/salad, potatoes /chips. Puddings looked good too. The service is speedy. There's always a choice of homebrews and my partner assures me they're worth a try. This weeks offering was Carmen Sutra, his rating 10/10!

We were looking for some pub grub on our recent stay in the area. On arriving at the bar the staff were very helpful in helping us choose from their ales, providing samples so we could decide which to order. Neither of us were that hungry so we opted for beef and onion baguettes. The baguettes were very good (and large) with lots of beef and fried onions accompanied with fresh salad, unfortunately we had ordered a side of chips to share - way too much food but we hadn't realised how large the baguettes were going to be. The ales were excellent and we would recommend visiting without a car! :-) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We visited recently for a few nights camping. It's was generally OK, maybe a little over priced for the facilities. The grass was a little long (cut during our stay, this obviously meant lots of Grass EVERYWHERE) On our first evening we explored the area (much needed as we barely researched the site before coming. Only taking into consideration the short distance to Snowdon) it is VERY well located and the scenic views around the site were wonderful! It's truly beautiful. We had a meal in the pub the on first night each having the two different home made pies on the menu (steak & ale / chicken and leek)which were lovely, however paired with very over cooked vegetables, but none the less very much enjoyed. The ales we tried were brewed at the pub they were also rather moorish. There's mixed reviews on trip advisor, but play safe and have a home made pie, instead of a random chilli and rice!During our stay we went for a walk in the PARC opposite the site called PARC Dudley, it was very steep and rather over grown, but worth a wander. There's also lots of other trails a few miles down the road to the next villages worth a try with beautiful views of a near by lake. There's a rail station adjacent to the campsite so it is possible to ride the rails either way between cearnarvon and portmadog. The prices seemed quite reasonable too. Regretfully we didn't ride the rails here on this visit. The down sides to the site was the facilities the toilet block and shower block let it down drastically. The site would benefit majorly if they fitted some New toilets instead of the typical bus station toilets with no seats! If staying be aware the shower blocks are way across the camp field and over the public rail bridge . And a few paths would also help between or around the pitches to mark it out better. We ended our stay a few days early mainly due to the weather. A small footnote, don't rely on phone signal there is ZERO!

We stayed here for one night, I had read reviews about the toilet facilities not being great on the campsite. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them, they were very clean, yes the toilets in the top field were basic but I have stayed on campsites which are much worse, after all, it's camping you're doing, not staying in a 5 star hotel, if you go camping then you should be prepared for roughing it! The shower block is over the train bridge, but this isn't a problem and it is hardly a long walk, these were also very clean and good powerful hot showers. On to the pub, we had chosen to come and stay here due to the attraction of a pub which brews it's own ales being on site, the ales did not disappoint, there was a choice of 4 ales and a stout, we got through all but the 6% ale and all were very good. I've read comments that CAMRA must be out of their mind, CAMRA is about good ales not their surroundings, yes it is a little dated inside and maybe not the most homely pub I've been in but the ales definitely make up for that.We ate lunch and dinner at the pub, lunch was great, the beef madras in the evening was very tasty, however, there was too much rice and not enough curry and the beef was overcooked and dry.All in all, we really enjoyed it here and wished we were staying longer that 1 night. We will definitely be returning.

Myself and a friend visited after finding it online. The pub building was quite decent, and the prices weren't too bad. The beer was very good, we sampled 4 they had on tap and had a few pints of two beers between us. The menu was fairly varied, I had the beef madras and my friend had the burger and chips. The food was very bland and canteen style of food. The beef madras tasted like a gravy with a bit of chilli powder in. The rice was overcooked. I tried a chip and it tasted of vegetable oil even with a bit of sauce on. Not disgusting food, and the portions were pretty good, and we did both finish the meals as we were hungry. Certainly not worth causing a fuss over, just not somewhere I'd visit again. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. If we were rating this campsite on location, we would give it 5 stars. Pub onsite serving 6 real ales at £2.95 a pint and 2 ciders on draught. Friendly pub that serves food and has a TV, pool table and wifi. The bar area itself is for adults only. However, there is a family room for children. The railway station is also on site! Great photo opportunity as it is a steam train! We climbed Snowden on one of the days and this is only 25 mins drive to the pyg track. Moving onto the campsite: great as it has electric hookup. However, the facilities are not great. There are 2 unisex toilets on the first field. These are not clean and do not have a toilet seat (not very lady friendly). The main shower block and washing facilities are across the railway bridge in the next field. The showers were warm and powerful which is a great! However, again not very clean.I understand we are camping and you cannot expect luxury. However, we have paid the same price for other sites up and down the country and had amazing, spotless shower and cleaning facilities. The price you pay is definitely for location rather than facilities. On a positive note we would stay here again :)

Several in a group I was escorting saw this pub from the Welsh Highland train. By coincidence the bar steward on the train used to work there. She telephoned the brewpub for us and arranged for us to see the microbrewery where the very enthusiastic landlady/brewer told us about brewing her beers.I tried the new "Ixion" which is a strong characterfull ale -- 6% alcohol, -- and only £2.95 a pint. All the on-site beers are priced as £2.95.Other liked the Carmen Sutra beer (not a spelling mistake, the landlady/brewer is called Carmen. We didn't have time to sample a lot of the variety of proper beers brewed here, but I'll go back if in the area again. (No rubbish lagers brewed here!)Well worth visiting if in Snowdonia, but do walk or go by coach or the Welsh Highland Railway so you can sample the beer. Leave the car at home.

How on Earth this place has won Pub of the Year 4 consecutive times, God only knows. The place is truly ugly - a throwback to the 70s. The layout is reminiscent of one of those awful social clubs you used to see in old comedies. I half expected the bingo to start at any moment. We were attracted by the huge banners proudly proclaiming CAMRA's awards; I can only assume there is absolutely no local competition at all. The real ale (for that is what we went for) was limited to 2 bitters and a stout. I tried the stout; it was better than the Irish rubbish I refuse to name - but that doesn't say much. My other half tried the Carmen Sutra. Looked and tasted like John Smith's. Never again.

Very nice, and surprisingly large, pub in the middle of Snowdonia with six real ales on draft to choose from. Would recommend the food (I tried chicken and leek pie) although slightly expensive for pub grub (almost £6 for a pudding) but there are no real alternatives in the area. The menu is available online on the pub's website.Basic facilities on the campsite with the shower block across the train tracks for a heritage railway line.I would recommend earplugs as we were awoken by a trio of cockerels and dogs who took it in turns to make a din. These were just offsite so the pub has no control over this.

This was our nearest pub restaurant to the campsite Bryn Gloch, a few miles up the road, so had it been better we'd have been there lots over the almost 2 weeks we were there. The beer is amazing and delicious, but the food really isn't good. We went twice, just because of exhaustion, and the second time we both went for egg, chips, sausage and beans on the assumption that it would be hard to go wrong with that. It was disappointing both trips, although edible. There's not really any ambience to speak of in the pub, though in a curious way the working men's club atmosphere is part of the beery charm. The staff and locals seemed friendly enough to us.

We went to this pub with great expectations after reading abut it on the "Doggie Pubs" website, only to end up rather disappointed.I ordered Gammon with an egg, chips and vegetables, my wife ordered the roast beef dinner. After a wait of almost an hour the food arrived. My gammon was literally "done to death" , burned on one side and not a drop of juice left in it, the egg had been similarly treated and was rock hard. The chips (the best part of the meal) were of the frozen variety and the veg was cold. My wife fared little better, her beef was OK but her Yorkshire pud was like a biscuit, her veg was cold and the roast potatoes soggy.

Not the best decorated pub you will visit but it had a great selection of food and drinks. It has an adjacent campsite and the phone was a git of a distraction but we couldn't fault the food/drink. The desserts were really tasty - no frills just really satisfying. The ploughmans was a very good size as was anything with chips. I enjoyed the veggie curry but it could have done with a little something extra as the rice was just plain boiled. We'd definitely go back.

We have just returned from a 3 night camping trip to this site, us and our friends had great pitches 21 & 22 which were perfect for us as we had 6 children and 3 dogs between us, it was a huge corner space and quite secluded. The site is in a lovely location and has a steam train track running through it.We ate in the pub for 3 nights and the food was excellent and good value. We had 3 great days out to Bedgellert, llanberis and Betse-co-ed, it was a great location for exploring this beautiful region. We had a great camping trip. However it's unfortunate that I would never stay here again purely for the disgusting condition of the toilets and showers. I showered every morning for the 3 days and in that time nobody had cleaned either the toilet block or the showers. One side of the site has a block with two unisex toilets that have no toilet seats, they were covered in urine and were horrible to use as a woman, they stunk the floors were just awful. The other side of the site has a block which has showers and toilets, separate for ladies and men which had a coded door to get through, the sinks were filthy, I didn't clean my teeth at them as it knocked me sick how dirty they were and for the 3 days had big black hairs in them, I showered in flip flops as the floor and the walls and door of the showers were so dirty. Before leaving the site I asked if there was any way of leaving a comment so I didn't have to be so public but I was told no and just to leave a review on trip adviser.

Having paid for our dinner & half way through our drinks we were then informed that our 6-month old baby that was sleeping 'was not welcome' on the basis of a couple of whingeing locals at the bar, so we were evicted. I am a big CAMRA fan and promoter of local ales but why they keep supporting outdated, tired & unprofessional outfits like this is beyond me. Avoid.

Yes, as some people have said below, this pub is still perhaps a little 'dated/tired' BUT they obviously never went in a few years ago. This place used to be the most miserable and unfriendly place any tourist could think about encountering. The turnaround is fantastic.Called in a couple of times (last year, and this). The pub is fresh, it's clean, it's bright (if perhaps a little reminiscent of the 1970's).The food is great, the portions are great, and it's reasonably priced. The beer (brewed on site) is fabulous. I will make the effort to camp in the adjoining camp site one day, rather then rushing back to Derby.Best of all, the staff are actually friendly, and will have a conversation, if it's not too busy (especially the 'owner').It's a treat, and I recommend it to everyone. We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 boys & dog in our campervan as it is well placed for snowdon. We stayed on the top field next to the steam railway track, which was great as we got to watch the train whilst eating our lunch! The ground on this field was quite hard for pegging our awning. You have to go over the railway bridge to the shower blocks, which were clean (ish) & there is a laundry room, washing up facilities and a fridge. However, the toilets on the field where our pitch were awful. They were like public toilets. We ate at the pub & the food was good pub grub & kids & dogs were welcome. The camp site is ideally situated for Snowdon & the steam train takes you to Portmadoc, although we didn't go on it.Our only complaint about the camp site is that when my husband booked it for 2 nights he was told it was really a minimum of 3 nights, but that as they were not busy it would be OK. We were advised that if we did want an extra night it would not be a problem. We couldn't climb Snowdon on the day we had planned, so we decided to stay on another night. When I asked if this was still alright I was told we could, but would have to move to another pitch! Considering this would mean emptying our awning and unpegging it to have to move & set up camp again, we declined & moved on to our next destination.Although we enjoyed our stay at Snowdonia Parc, I feel that the staff could have been a bit more accommodating.
