Sneyd Oatcakes in Stoke-on-Trent

Called in at Sneyd Oatcakes 11am on a Saturday morning. It had been my go to when I worked nearby. Clearly under new management and Staff, but I thought I'd give it a go. I just wanted oatcakes to use at home. I was informed that if I wished to pay by card it was a minimum spend of £5. No problem I said, please can I buy enough to cover the minimum spend. The guy making the oatcakes then told me "I'm only making a dozen"!! The assistant then said "sorry" and that was that. I was really disappointed as the previous owners were so welcoming and friendly. I've since spoken to colleagues who still work in the area and always used Sneyd, they confirmed that under the new owners it's gone terribly down hill and they now go elsewhere. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day but if not, it's a real shame.

One of the best, if not the best oatcake shops in Stoke-on-Trent, the oatcakes were cooked to perfection as usual with the best Cheshire cheese oozing out of the oatcakes with crispy edges ....omg !!! Beautiful 😍

Ordered my usual, bacon, tomato and cheese sandwich, and single cheese oatcakes. As usual, bacon just right, and now a choice of cheeses I'm sorted, staff are polite, friendly and down to earth. Keep it up, quality munchies.

Ordered four bacon sandwiches and bacon sausage and cheese with red sauce oatcake the bacon was rock hard couldn’t eat it so threw it away also no butter on the bread skimpy on the sauce and the oatcake I was given had egg on no cheese or red sauce won’t be coming back after waiting half an hour too

Beautiful oatcakes the best in stoke on Trent and staff absolutely amazing. An.d great value for money, much better than high lane oatcakes, just give these guys a try you won't be disappointed.

I moved away from Stoke but regularly call in to Sneyd Oatcakes to stock up. Picked up 8 dozen at the weekend! They are always fresh, not stodgy at all and reasonably priced. The team there are always friendly and always ask how you are, unusual these days. I can’t compliment Sneyd Oatcakes enough!

First time I've tried oatcakes they were delicious had the one with bacon cheese and mushrooms cooked to perfection

I don’t know how this place is getting such good reviews. The meat is pre cooked and kept in buckets, some people may like there meat from a pre cooked bucket, but as I am not a farm yard animal I prefer mine freshly cooked.

Phoned my order in for colleagues at work, some who used to work in the Potteries now working in Lichfield. Told the staff I would be taking them to Lichfield, when I collected the order they had all been wrapped in tin foil and were in a cardboard box. 50 minutes later opened in the office in Lichfield piping hot and delicious. Thanks very much brilliant service, very friendly and awesome oatcakes. My colleague particularly recommended the Full Monty, a breakfast between two oatcakes !!

Had a bacon oatcake and a sausage oatcake. They don't even give you a bacon rasher it's just a few bits of bacon. And I only had half a sausage? Where's the other half? Are pigs that rare? Tight! And asked for brown sauce and I had to go home put my own on. I'll go to high lane you get what you pay for! And people think this is good! You've never had a proper oatcake.

I'll keep this short and sweet. The best oatcakes in Stoke on Trent by fair and the staff are so lovely and friendly. I'd never go anywhere else!!

We decided to try Sneyd oatcakes although we usually go to one or two nearby and we ordered 3 filled doubles and two singles with bacon and cheese , some with brown sauce . What a disappointment - the brown sauce may have not helped but the oatcakes were lukewarm with lukewarm filling although we opened them in the car , the brown sauce horrible sour tasting to the point where i couldn't eat mine and had to swop with my husbands who had tomato sauce on his . The bacon was so so and the cheese unmelted in parts , the oatcake was not the best I've tasted and my husband agreed we would not go there again , which was a shame especially as the reviews have said they are the best?! Maybe as it was late we didn't receive the best but please change that brown sauce as it was the worst tasting sauce ever and ruined the whole oatcake - sorry!

My wife and I have used Sneyd Oatcakes for years on our visits to the city. On this occasion we opted for filled oatcakes for the first time - my wife had hers filled with bacon, cheese and mushrooms, mine just cheese and mushrooms. The oatcakes were as tasty as ever but my wife was disappointed with the bacon bits, rashers would have been preferred. In addition, we both felt the cheese was a bit bland. Great for a change but we will fill our own oatcakes in future.

By far the best oatcake shop in / around Stoke on Trent ! Saturday ritual , if you have a big order try to call ahead as not to be disappointed in waiting times , as it's all looked fresh , no microwaves in this shop !

I've been coming to get my oatcakes from here for years now and I have to say the service, atmosphere and food is outstanding. They have perfected the right combination of cheese, and I love how the bacon is in bite size pieces. The establishment is spotless and it's very reasonably priced. I travel from the Newcastle to come get my breakfast from here and used to travel from Stafford...it's that good! Thank you for every pleasurable bite!!!

This is our favourite place for oatcakes! We've tried many other oatcake shops in the area and none of them are as good as Sneyd oatcakes.Many other oatcake shops make the mistake of using cheddar cheese on the oatcakes which is awful and far too greasy. I love the choice of cheese used in the oatcakes here.

I eat the same oatcakes every saturday every week and have done so for many many years. I love the oatcakes from Sneyd. No where else comes close to the high quality and taste of Sneyd Oatcakes. I honnestly dont know what i would do without this shop the owners are gorgeous people and are so welcoming, such a comforting homely shop.

Not going to deny this is a regular haunt and a favourite treat as a true Stokey. There are many purveyors of oatcakes in Stoke on Trent but no one else has got it right. Chris, Gaynor and their staff will always make it fresh on the day with Chris up very early doors to get a fresh batch made every day before the punters are up.Whatever your choice of filling, bacon, sausage, tomato or cheese ( pronounced chayse ), and many more, it is all put onto the oatcakes and done on the hot plate in front of you, not microwaved which makes em soggy, never right. If you don't want a filling you can get them in half dozen, dozen or as many as you need, a staple diet of the eldest lad who takes a few back to Uni in Wales to educate the foreigners over the border of what constitutes proper food. You can even freeze em.Don't forget fruit pikelets, dripping with butter and a picture of a famous local lad behind the counter (Robbie nonetheless).This has got to be a local treat when you visit The Potteries, give it a go, the best in town.

Sneyd Oatcakes is a family run English take away specialising in Made on the premises North Staffs Oatcakes. They also prepare sandwiches, toasties and various other breakfast items to a very high standard and everything is freshly made right in front of you. I have to say there are plenty of Oatcake shops in and a round the area but this one is family run and is the absolute best!!
