I have no idea why there are bad reviews of this store. Its huge and well stocked. Had a great breakfast in the cafe and very friendly staff.

I’ve just ordered a cook breakfast that was served toast without butter had to visit the till to then be told they had ran out of sachets - so past 3 hard chunks of frozen butter in a small pot. Got to the black pudding served raw and semi frozen 🤢 The young guy behind the counter very polite and friendly but the other staff could learn to smile more. Sadly, I won’t be returning came in today after awful surgery and first day out since my operations.

Laurence Henry is now Chef Patron of The Martin’s Arms located on School lane,Colston Basset. We have followed his career since he was at Sat Bains and won Master Chef the Professionals in 2018. It's been a year since he slipped off the radar. As soon an opening date was announced we booked. We were practically the first through the door for lunch. The menu is not quite your typical pub grub. It has the classics and something a bit different. We chose a couple of snacks. The Venison Scotch egg and we had to try the KFP. Kentucky fried pheasant with pine & thyme. A Poached pear Waldorf starter. Spiced port, Colston Basset Stilton, candied walnuts & endive. For mains, a true pub classic Cumberland Sausage, served with Mashed potato, seasonal greens & onion gravy. Nice tasty sausage with a lovely flavoursome gravy. Line caught cod. Creamy mash potato, Sweetcorn 'chowder` with clams, cockles & smoked mussels. A large peice of cod cooked to perfection. We wish Laurence and wife Sera every success and shall return with our doggies to see if they approve too.
