Sustainable Kitchen in Rushcliffe

We had an amazing brunch at Sustainable Kitchen on Sunday. Easy booking on line, but I'm sure walk in would also have been fine. Lovely friendly atmosphere. REALLY good coffee, I had the Leek & Cheese tart, which was delicious and Mart had the Reuben - very generous size sandwich and, again, delicious. I finished with the Spiked Signature Hot Chocolate ......seriously good! All in all, a great way to pass the time on a cold Sunday. Looking forward to returning for an evening visit soon.

We had brunch at The Sustainable Kitchen on a cold January morning. We booked a table through the website, which worked perfectly but I also think we would have been fine as a walk in. This was our first visit so we were keen to try something new. We both started with a cortado, made with oatmilk. These were delicious, the coffee having a really deep roasted flavour. I think I preferred these to a cortado made with cows milk, as a cortado is usually the only coffee that I have with milk and the flovour / texture suited me well. Foodwise, I ordered the Leek & Cheese tart - this was delicious and the small salad and hazelnut granola made it really interesting. I definitely would recommend it. Mart had the Rueben Sandwich, vegetarian so obvs 'fake' meats. A huge sandwich and, again, delicious. Second coffee, I had a black Lungo - really good flavour - and Mart stayed with the cortado. To finish I had the Signature Hot Chocolate spiked with Kraken Spiced Rum, and Mart had a Moccha Hot Chocolate. I shared some of the rum with him, good job as it would have been seriously strong, and this was a sublime treat to finish with - perfect choice for the cold day. The whole experience was lovely, Sustainable kitchen has attractive and welcoming decor and a great vibe for coffee and brunch. I am pleased to see that they are also open for food in the evenings on Fridays & Saturdays. The menu has some very interesting wines, cocktails and light bites, so I will definitely be back for that.

Incredible lunch of Wild mushrooms on sourdough and NY Reuben!!! You would absolutely not know all food was vegan!! We were blown away with the quality and tastiness of all the food…including the coffee and cake! We will be back 100%!!!

My first visit to this lovely place to eat and drink in Bingham and I wasn't disappointed. I had the best parsnip soup I've ever tasted and the bread it was served with, was delicious. The coffee is excellent. If I lived in Bingham, I would be there every day. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Everything about The Sustainable Kitchen was phenomenal. We came for breakfast, I had the pan seared mushrooms on ciabatta which was stunning as were the other breakfast options that my family had. The interior was beautiful and the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. Really good coffee and we got some tasty cakes to take home. We also got the sausage roll to takeaway and this sausage roll was honestly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I wish I lived closer to this place but I will definitely travel the 90 minutes to come here again soon!! I can’t recommend this place enough.

That was our second visit and it was as good as on the first time! Atmosphere is friendly and cosy, service and people are from the top level. Everything fresh and made when order so even if you need to wait is worth it :) Comfort food with personality.

Great little place. My non-vegan dad said the Mac and cheese was the best he's ever had.

My First visit today and I can promise you we have already set a date next week for a return visit, I was happy to see smiling welcoming staff , the food was as good as any West End restaurant and probably better , if I have to some it all up in one word I would say " Delightful " , I don't want more I 'need' more of the same .

Absolute gem of a place, I can’t fault a single thing. Our party of 4 included 2 Omni’s, a veggie and a vegan. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. I (vegan) have been to dozens of vegan restaurants all over UK, Europe and the Americas and can honesty say this is one of, if not, the best place I have eaten at. The flavours, textures and presentation all incredible. The only downside to SK is that I live almost 100 miles away. Thanks to all the wonderful staff and the exceptional chef for a truly memorable experience.

Gorgeous little place! We were visiting Nottingham for a concert and stopped off here on the way back home and I am absolutely gutted I do not live closer! The staff & owner are absolutely lovely! So very friendly and you can see how much passion and love go into their work. The food was incredible and it was so reasonably priced! We loved it so much, Thank you!

I’m in no way a vegan/veggie but I’ve just popped in for a Breakfast burrito as my wife likes it here. I promise you now it was amazing. Even better than any ‘normal’ meaty breakfast I’ve had locally. Will definitely come again for the same!

This is vegan, sustainable cooking elevated to something very special. From the lip smacking gazpacho to the pillowy focaccia, to the divine courgette tart with secret savoury pastry glaze and sublime mint pesto, this is plants pimped up to eleven. Rice and peas vegan food this is not. Its indulgent, it's refined, it's a joy to look at and smell as we as eat, and the staff are clearly in love with what they do and why they do it. Go, forget the world for an hour or so, chat to these beautiful people and eat their exploitation-free food, and plan your next visit before you leave. Superb.

Great for those of the vegan persuasion, but my filled breakfast croissant was bland. Whatever was pretending to be scramled egg failed big time. Good coffee. Staff rather inattentive.

Similar to another recent reviewer, my friend and I, despite not being vegetarian or vegan, decided to make a special trip to try out the Sustainable Kitchen and I’m so pleased we did! We thought the food was absolutely delicious and the staff could not have been more welcoming. Such fabulous flavours and original recipes. I even ended up taking some of their food home. Can’t wait to go back and highly recommend to others.

Absolutely fantastic! We went today for our friends birthday lunch. I am not a vegan, but let me tell you the food here is sooooo delicious. The flavours and menu selections are brilliant! We will definitely return.

Another great visit to SK, this time for lunch and a wonderful Gazpacho, with great service as usual. Lovely to sit out in the patio area enjoying the weather. If you haven't tried SK yet, do!

The legendary SK sausage roll, by far the best meat free SS you’ll get and the salads are amazing.

Just had Sunday lunch here and I'm very impressed. The mushroom soup was so good and the cheese and leek tart delicious. Very friendly welcome and service. Great that the owners chose Bingham to open their restaurant. I will be back. Update: I said I'd be back. For my Fathers' Day brunch treat, I chose the superb Squash and Courgette Summer Tart and my daughter had the Burrito Bowl. Both were truly excellent. Many thanks.

Really lovely food and drinks, friendly and welcoming staff. The food was delicious - I’d highly recommend the mac and cheese, but the other dishes I saw the chef preparing looking delicious too! The cakes are fabulous, and their drinks are really nice, including their hot chocolate that came with whipped cream and marshmallows.

We traveled an hour and half to drive here for this recommended vegan restaurant...and what a gem it was! From the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave, every staff member makes you feel fantastic and filled with love. Then the food.....well.....my partner is vegan and as it was his birthday I looked into finding a good vegan restaurant and all the places in the country we have eaten this is the best! Hands down! The biggest compliment I can give is the food was delicious, end of! As a non vegan I would happily eat here and arguably be converted if the food is this good each time. I honestly can't rave about this place enough, a special atmosphere, special good and amazing staff. We will be back (tomorrow I think!)

Everything about this place redefines the restaurant experience, from the freshness and quality of the food to the incredibly friendly service, delicious options, something for everyone, calming ambiance (even their bathroom is the cleanest restaurant restroom you will ever see). The food made in-house is rich in detail and nutritional value, and the baked goods for takeout were mind-blowing (especially the lemon-poppyseed muffin if that's your thing, it's the best here). Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. Eat here, make friends with the people here, and keep coming back.

1st time visiting this establishment good service tasty food and nice strong coffee

Fantastic quality vegan food and so many options, including hot and cold drinks. Absolute heaven for vegans like me who are sick of just having avocado on toast as the sole option! We had the delicious Reuben sandwiches (which are HUGE) off the brunch/lunch menu as we'd just missed the breakfast menu. It wasn't very busy at 11am, but all tables were reserved for lunchtime so you definitely need to book in advance, if you're going after 12pm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, really felt like a high-end hotel level of service. Very classy feeling place but not intimidating because of the staff.

Flavourful Fascinating Health-Infusing Scrumptious Brunch! We two omnivores booked for an early brunch yesterday, delightfully looked after by the lovely Molly. We had green tea with rose petals, and iced ginger tea with jasmine flowers, both of which were amazingly refreshing, and beautifully presented. Our food choices were the vegan rarebit on sourdough, and wild mushrooms on sourdough. The masterful infusion of natural flavours and textures was both scrumptious and deeply satisfying. What I love about the SK is the passion, the care, the inclusivity, the originality and the infinitely inventive delicious flavours. It’s definitely my favourite eatery! The SK deli counter is also a great source for amazing vegan cheeses, without the toxic chemical additives you find in supermarket brands - particularly great for vegans and dairy intolerants alike. We also love the new Duolife vitamin range. All in all, The SK is a great destination in Bingham. I always leave feeling healthier, more relaxed and more inspired!

Wonderful polite staff, with plenty of fancy upmarket vegan choices. Having an understanding of market value, I would say this is extremely overpriced for the portion sizes provided.I would have expected a side salad or Crisps with the “chicken” sandwich for the £13 we paid. But, I am not trying to turn this into a negative review, it was like being in a Californian cafe, in the lovely village of Bingham! We shall return!

Wonderful.. just all round an amazing experience.. The food is so creatively served and the way the fusion of flavours are used delight to the palate..The culinary skills are very much in evidence with all the dishes we had, and you totally have the feeling all the staff love working here. They really have what it takes to look after their clientèle with their in depth knowledge of the menu.. The perfect Mother's Day experience for us and we definitely will be back..

An absolute gem of a place! The most kind, personable and helpful service you could wish for, plus easily the tastiest and most exciting food in Bingham. I've been a number of times and everything I've tried has been exceptional. They often have new seasonal choices on the menu, and new drinks (I recommend their flavoured matcha's, they converted me from a matcha sceptic!) I'd give 10 stars if I could - recommend booking ahead as they are v popular!

Wow wow wow! We have become regulars of this little place and we are so lucky to have a delicious plant based dishes on our doorstep! The atmosphere is always great, whether you are just popping for coffee and cake or a full meal, it’s a lovely place to sit and chat, meet friends or relax solo. The food is always ten out of ten, we have tried numerous different dishes from the menu and are impressed every time. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, making sure you are as comfortable as possible and have everything you need whilst you’re there. Thank you all for working so hard on this place - it definitely shows and it definitely pays off as it’s now our favourite place to grab amazing vegan food or a hot beverage whilst out in Bingham. Would recommend to anyone! Looking forward to trying the breakfast menu when we manage to get out of bed early enough one day haha :)

Amazing. I've been vegan for about 20 years so I've been to lots of great vegan restaurants in that time and this is the best food I've ever tasted. The restaurant is beautiful and staff really friendly. You can tell they put a lot of love into the whole experience.

Beautiful food at very reasonable prices, the menu is small but varied and the service is impeccable. My wife is coeliac and the head chef is always keen to accommodate. They have a real passion for what they're doing and it comes across in every plate. I cannot recommend SK highly enough, give it a go!

Excellent drinks and cakes available. Had a lovely visit to this shop a couple of weekends ago. Loved the décor, atmosphere, drinks and cakes. If i could give it more stars i would have. 100% recommend visiting here. Fyi though it is a vegan cafe so they dont serve drinks with regular milk but the oat milk used was beautiful.

Really enjoyed my visit yesterday lunchtime! This place always has a lovely atmosphere and is a feast for the eye as well as the palate! I had the excellent roasted pumpkin soup, but the salads also looked delicious - a tough decision! It’s great to eat in a place where the team have such passion in all that they do. Absolutely gorgeous!

Such a valuable addition to the village! The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the menu; offering recommendations to suit our tastes, attentive to allergies and intolerances, and insightful about future additions to the menu. The food itself was delightful, fine dining quality (you can tell the chef is Michelin trained) but at reasonable prices; stylish but not pretentious and definitely not lacking in taste and flavour and generous portion sizes. I'd go as far to say it's the best soup I've had in a very long time! The staff really seem to care about their restaurant, their customers and the impact their business is having on the planet. We will definitely be regular customers.

Wonderful to have this new plant based cafe in Bingham. A welcome change from the other coffee places that are very samey. Food is incredible and coffee actually tastes better with oat or coconut milk. I don't follow a plant based diet but the soup and salads we had were so fresh and tasty. Highly recommended for a healthy lunch. The sausage roll in particular was amazing.

This is just the loveliest place. Food is so good and fresh. The selection is perfect. The coffee is wonderful (oat milk latte’s are my favourite.) The service is truly the best. All the staff are so down to earth, professional and sweet. Absolute pleasure to visit. Rik and Tim, you’ve done a great job - thank you for always being so welcoming and kind even when you must be rushed off your feet! Just what Bingham needed.

We went as a family of six last weekend, just brilliant and quick service from Zuza and Tim, and the vegan food all prepared by Rik, master chef, is just fabulous - all in the most modern and well presented Restaurant. I will be visiting again soon (and I’m not a vegan normally!) Highly recommended.

The food and the service were fantastic. Warm welcome, clean surroundings and a really lovely meal.

Was excited to try this place. It is beautifully decorated and the food looked delicious. However, although there were quite a few empty tables inside, my husband and I were just left waiting by the door, while several members of staff completely ignored us. They were too busy making the food look pretty at the expense of poor customer service. Eventually, we got tired of waiting and left. We won't be back. Another example of a bijou cafe where it is just style over substance.

What a refreshing change to find a menu with so many wonderful ingredients. Three of us had lunch, we all made different choices and could have enjoyed each one equally. The team are charming, friendly and enthusiastic. The decor is quirky yet tasteful and their efforts to tick all the right boxes could not be faulted. Can’t wait to return. Liz S.

Fantastic breakfast at SK. Lovely, lovely atmosphere. Neither of us are vegan, but both loved the food. Kate had porridge, I had ham and cheese croissant - both followed by cakes (obvs!) Portions were substantial. Bird & Wild coffee was cracking. We'll be back. Definitely.

What a beautiful venue, Rik and Tim were wonderful, and are clearly very passionate about their business. We had a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and pastries, and everything was delicious! We will be back again soon!

I am shocked! I eat meat and dairy and I could not tell that the iced latte and chocolate Oreo cake was vegan. Really beautiful interior, friendly staff and great food/drinks.

All food samples delicious & the Madcha Blueberry Japanese tea recommended by Tim excellent. Beautiful eye to detail re decoration; will be my new place to go. What a superb opening event ! This is definitely going to be one of our favourite places ! Decor is fab, service is brilliant & the food we sampled was excellent.
