We found a table and then noticed we had to buy food from Snack Shack. Worst fish and chips we have ever had. Chips frozen and the fish was tiny and tasteless !!! Total rip off at £9

Stopped off here for cheap & cheerful fish & chips in October, had 4 staff but only one was serving so took a long time to get service. Fish & chips had salad stuff & sweet corn with it, was ok for the money, was my second time in 2 years I had fish & chips there & may do again some day, a load of starlings flew on to the table and started eating stuff from the plate. Took a video of them. One of them took a third of the fish so had to eat the fish & chips quick while it was still there, there's hundreds of starlings at West bay and its always good to see them as there's not much else to see there apart a load of motor bikes that have ruined west bay

The same perfect breakfast as we had last year in 2022, the best breakfast in the area ! Outdoor seating under patio umbrellas on the ege of the harbour :)

Late breakfast roll. Amazing value as comprised roll, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. All for a fiver! Tasted so good. Coffee was good as well.

Came here to get breakfast twice and each time impressed by the friendly and warm service. Coffee was spot on and the breakfast rolls are amazing.

Perfectly cooked large breakfast for £7.50 with great quality ingredients, the best in the area ! 2 eggs cooked perfectly, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, toms, mushrooms, hash brown, beans and thick tiger bread toast :)

Plenty of choice on West Bay marina for a quick meal, but the Snack Shack is the best. Lovely fish and chips, very reasonably priced, and a mug of tea for only £1. Great service, and friendly pleasant staff. Hard to beat really. But don't go if you don't like birds. as there are crowds of opportunistic cheeky starlings twittering around the place waiting for a chance to pounce on any leftover food.

Found this place after a couple of days in west bay anyone who wants a good breakfast this is a must

Service with a smile and a lovely big breakfast for £7.50. What more do you need. You might have to share with the starlings though! I usually go to the big cafe around the corner but they were having some issues this morning so I tried Snack Shack. Glad I did! The big breakfast has everything: 2 eggs cooked perfectly, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, toms, mushrooms, hash brown, beans and lovely thick fried bread. Great location right on the harbour. Really nice staff too.

Every year at this time I appear in the area and glad to find that this place is still the best by a country mile. (Just check the queues at breakfast). A tad disappointed that although still great VFM the quantity has reducedto avoid the prices being increased.

Had a really nice bacon Brie and cranberry panini today, absolutely delicious with a side salad. Would definitely recommend and I will be back with my friends. Staff very friendly can’t do enough for you.

Very disappointied. I went to visit with a few friends, the staff were rude and slandered other businesses so we went elsewhere, in fact to said business and the food there was marvellous! I will not be returning.

Staggered to see so many positive reviews - maybe we caught them on a bad day? Two people working, woman front of house taking ages to make each coffee, and one lad working really hard in the kitchen doing everything else. I had a baguette which hadn't been warmed through properly and was very doughy and chewy. Partners toasty was better but all took 20 mins to come out. Places on either side looked much better.

My son, me and our miniature dachshund decided to go to West Bay for a walk up the cliff and wanted to have a spot of lunch to build us up. We weren't disappointed when we rocked up to the Snack Shack! The 2 staff there were very friendly and accommodating and the food was sublime. You couldn't fault it and the view of the Marina was lovely. Will definitely be coming again and bring my husband. Keep up the good work! :)

The two that served us couldn’t do enough for us. Really friendly. We had 4 jumbo sausage and chips and a cod and chips. The cod was white, LARGE and the batter was spot on.

Big family fish n chip order was dealt with easily, freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and funny. Food was perfect; reasonable portion sizes and really tasty. No refried rubbish. Would definitely recommend this little place

First check in at West Bay of the summer - glad to say that my favourite eatery did not disappoint. Great food, exceptional value and the friendliest of staff - breakfast by the harbour - bliss.

We visited this cafe today chosen because it's one of only a couple that sell jacket potatoes and we were not disappointed. Absolutely gorgous and served with salad which was unexpected. Big potatoes and loads of sauces and vinegar etc. Really nice cup of tea two and very lovely friendly people. I would highly recommend the snack shack for a visit. Brilliant

Our favourite place for coffee and cake. Alison and her staff make you feel very welcome, you won’t be disappointed. Excellent value, for excellent service.

After an early checkout where we were staying we were on the look out for a decent breakfast. Snack Shack is one of several eating places clumped together in West Bay by the fishing port. Great breakfast menu and our chosen breakfast baps/sandwiches were fantastic, cooked to our preferred liking. Noticed this eatery was spotlessly clean compared to some of its competitors in the locality.

Rocked up and spoke to the owner Matt who was incredibly friendly and helpful, I asked him if he had a vegan breakfast and he created a feast of perfectly cooked mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns and a toasted bread, with a cup of tea with oatmilk. Very filling, tasted delicious, excellent value, highly recommended.

Visited on a wet Monday lunchtime and had lunch under one of their umbrella tables! The food was amazing £10 for a large cod and chips and a medium cod and chips. The medium was large and the large was giant! Served with a salad garnish and a smile. Would definitely return when in the area.

Really friendly and great value, fresh coffee whilst looking out over the bay. Public toilets close and dogs are welcome.

We have been going to West Bay for 13 yrs. As far as I can remember we’ve been going to the Snack Shack.It’s always busy, the owners and their staff are brilliant, nothing is too much problem. If they can help you they will.There’s other food and drinks outlets in West Bay but this is simply the best.

Holidayed in West Bay and breakfasted at the Snack Shack four times! My brother in law loved the big breakfast whilst my mum loved a breakfast bap. My sister and I liked the medium breakfast where we got to choose five from nine items. This really worked for me as unfortunately I’m ‘dairy free’ and ‘greasy free’ for poorly belly reasons. The sausages were griddled rather than fried and I could get decaf coffee. Bonus! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome every day :) Definitely recommend.

2 meals here 1 a snack and a wonderful full English breakfast omg it was fantastic. Worth a stop off.

Discovered this place a few weeks ago and have already been back 3 times. Everything weve tried has been delicious and hubby says they do the BEST bacon, mushroom and onion baguette. Staff are always friendly. Definitely worth a visit 😁

Ate from here for the first time today. The Cod was small and there wasn’t many chips at all. Staff however polite and friendly but won’t have the Cod and Chips again

West Bay is beautiful with loads of places to eat but try finding somewhere that serves breakfast before 9am. My daughter and I LOVE our bacon butties/rolls/baps insert you own name, when we are on holiday and were lucky enough to find the Snack Shack open at 8am on our second day and were so glad we did. We sampled many of the breakfast items over the next couple of days and all were great and at decent prices (unlike a lot of the establishments in West Bay). My favourite was a plain bacon roll but the bacon was quality butchers bacon and the rolls fresh and tasty. My daughter went off menu, bacon and hash brown roll and they didn't even bat an eyelid. The service was friendly and chatty and the food delivery quick considering it is cooked fresh to order.

These breakfast are the best any where around the area, it’s my regular stop! DONT TELL THE WIFE !! Amazing full English , freshly cooked and total value for money, you can tell how good it is here when even in the winter the locals eat and chat here, it’s friendly and very welcoming to all. I was also a holidaymaker before moving here a few years ago. May I recommend an early breakfast and watch West Bay wake up ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

Always worth a visit for a cup of tea or coffee - often open when all others are closed and very friendly family service. Good snacks and great cakes!

Very good value for money and the chips were fresh and well cooked. Burgers were lovely, freshly made chicken nuggets and fresh home made Thai fish cakes. Prices very reasonable and service quick and efficient.

Stayed in an apartment across the road from here for the weekend, this place is always busy and used by both tourists and locals, which I think speaks volumes! We came over and got breakfast baguettes 2 mornings running. Really tasty, reasonable prices, lovely staff!

We had spent the morning viewing West Bay and the work going on on the new coastal protection work. We decided on the SMALL fish and chips as we would be eating dinner later. Well, for the price paid and the size of the fish and portion of chips we were both amazed and delighted. The fish was cooked well, moist and tasty. The batter was crisp and virtually free of fat. Chips were chunky and well cooked and a generous portion too. Well done Snack Shack we will dine again when next in West Bay and recommend you to all our friends. Keep up the good work. Must add that the lady and gent serving were politeness itself and very pleasant.

Short and sweet visit to the Snack Shack where my husband stated "best coffee I've ever had", the tea was excellent too. We would certainly recommend and would have no hesitation in returning. Thanks you to the lovely, cheerful and polite staff!

Have eaten here a few times lately and can't complain at all, food always cooked nice and good service. You get what you pay for.

While visiting West Bay me and my wife called in to the Snack Shack.

Absolutely disgusted with the service and quality of our food! After waiting for the hot chocolate machine to be fixed by one of the 5 staff I was finally asked if I had been served! Was totally ignored for 10 minutes! After waiting 25 minutes in total for the food it was horrible. Worst I've ever had and will not return!!!

After a good motorbike ride from Southampton area we were ready for a decent brekkie. West Bay was busy but there was a table right outside the shack. Ordered the breakfasts at £6.50 and sat with our coffees waiting. The breakfasts arrived quickly considering how busy they were and we were not disappointed. Great breakfast, great value, great service. Made a point of thanking them and when we returned for a coffee before the ride home they remembered us.

Always call when in the area. Friendly staff and great fish and chips. Their batter is always dry and crispy.

We were recommended the chips here, and admittedly that is all we ordered but they took ages, and they weren't the best we have had. I'm sure the seafood there is pleasant enough so can't comment on that

Arrived at busy West Bay feeling rather hungry, we walked round the bay and found several shacks serving food. Decided Snack Shack looked good and had a nice variety of food, well by the sea you have got to have fish and chips, we were not disappointed, a good sized fish and chips were served with a lovely salad garnish, cooked to perfection, and the staff were lovely and friendly, even came out with a treat for our dog. One of the local people said all their customers dogs get a treat, how nice is that. Well done you lovely people at snack shack you know how to look after us. We will definitely be back again.

Poor breakfast,cold beans,poor quality sausage,sooo salty bacon.I have never had crunchy thin black pudding either!!! Good value in one sense as I tasted it all day !!!

8am, hungry and the only thing open was the Snack Shack. Never a good combination. However, this place makes the most amazing bacon and hash brown sandwiches. Alice and the team do a great job at helping those on the bring of starvation. Well done :)

Had a lovely day today in West Bay with a lovely good value lunch sitting in the sun outside the Snack Shack. Jumbo sausage rolls with all the trimmings with super chips. The staff were super friendly and could not offer enough of everything. Will be our lunch stop next time we are in West Bay. Would recommend.

Me and my little nieces stopped by for a hot chocolate and were really impressed by how lovely the staff were. We were treated with warmth and kindness and the girls and myself absolutely loved the taste of that hot chocolate.

Me and my son stopped by for a breakfast after walking the dogs.. I can honestly say it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!! The sausages were tasty egg cooked to perfection it really was to die for

Following a walk to Westbay a friend and I decided to stop for lunch.

Great for a snack and less expensive than sitting in a cafe. Serves up good tasty snacks and a cuppa......just the ticket if your biking there.

Excellent breakfast very reasonably priced although I have to admit the 'big' breakfast did defeat me. The food was freshly cooked and nice and hot.

This happy little shack provided me with the most generously filled, delicious crab sandwich and salad in a compostable box after a wonderful walk along the cliffs from Seatown. Good coffee, friendly staff, and so much more reasonable than any other eatery in West Bay. Hugely recommended as they provide a wide variety of things to eat and drink.

Called for a light lunch. Lovely staff and very friendly service The chips are to die for. Will certainly visit again while in West Bay. Well worth a visit.

My partner and I use the shack snack on a regular basis on visits to West bay. We are always welcomed with a warm smile and friendly staff. The food has always been great with enough to feed us both, we usually go for fish and chips or the burger and chips which are always very very good. The owners are lovely and the snack shack always seems lovely and busy so they must be doing something right! Not too busy for the staff though that you always get a lovely smile and great food.

We ordered 4 cod and chips and 1 fish cake chips. There was absolutely no difference between the regular and smells that we ordered. All had such small amount of chips with them it wouldn’t have satisfied one person. We asked if it would be possible to get some extra chips as we were a little disappointed all to be met with a rude response from the lady running it and the other young girl helping her.

Very good food a lot to choose from. Food for whole family every little one will finde something to enjoy with. Very polite staff and helpful.

Was looking for somewhere for a decent coffee in West bay, saw an espresso machine in this kiosk and ordered a latte. Sadly the espresso was left to run until it was bitter, and the milk was far, far to hot. Undrinkable.

Went with the family as in west bay for the day. Lovely location and my wife who is not a fish lover thought she would try it fresh as we were here, had the sea bass and lime/ginger, amazing. I had the crab and lobster fish cakes and also fantastic. Reasonable price especially given the food. £5.40 for 2 sea bass fish cakes with a good portion of chips. Great service really friendly staff!

Had a great coffee in the sun this morning at the Snack Shack in West Bay. Interested to see that my coffee cup including its lid was completely compostable. Nice to see everyone doing their bit to reduce plastic waste. A great coffee too. Great stuff Snack Shack!

We stop at West Bay on the way to the West Country. First time we have eaten at this place. Fab food & really lovely staff. Cheap but such good quality. Would recommend. Coffee & hot chocolate also hot even though we ate & drank outside.

We stopped here to buy cheesy chips. They were freshly cooked, with plenty of cheese. The fish and chips looked lovely, and was freshly cooked as you waited. Would reccomend

Whenever we travel through West Bay we always stop at the Snack Shack for a quick bacon roll and a mug of tea. Service is always very good, and the bacon rolls are outstanding value.

There are a few reasons why this shack is popular - the genuine friendly service and the great food are certainly among the main ones.

Bacon and Sausage roll for breakfast was superb and good value for money. This place has a great selection of food and it is all cooked fresh and served hot for take away or to eat on the provided benches.

Went to The Snack Shack for lunch yesterday, my wife had the sea bass fishcakes and I opted for a Vegi burger. Wow, undoubtedly the best veg burger I've had for many many years, Shwarts in Bath was the last great one. This burger was slightly spicy in a soft white, warm bap, topped with melted cheese and perfectly fried mushrooms. My wife's fish cakes were also amazing but after she tried my burger she looked a bit jealous! Going back there next week for another one. It's also worth noting that the Snack Shack is the only West Bay shack that stays open all through the winter.

We stopped at Snack Shack for an early morning cup of coffee before a swim in the pool (not the sea - although the kids did get hit by a wave!)

Arrived in west bay and had lunch here. We both had thia fish cakes which came with chips and salad. Excellent food and at £4.99 each so cheap and you got 2 fish cakes. So good went back again a couple days later. Friendly staff and will certainly return when visiting west bay.

No cooking as open early for breakfast, eat there or take away. Really good coffee regardless of weather.

We always go here for our fish and chips when visiting West Bay, you get just enough to satisfy your stomach, staff have always been nice ( not very chatty) but always seem to be busy.

The fish and chips we had from the Snack Shack were excellent, and so was the coffee. We asked for a takeaway so we could sit looking out to sea, but equally would have been lovely to sit on their tables and chairs looking out at the harbour. Very friendly staff, and a large varied menu, almost regretted sticking to fish and chips.

We stop here for breakfast during our walk along the coast. The food was very nice and of a good quality. The drinks however were not of the same standard. Yes I would stop her again for food but unsure about the coffee. Reasonably priced though.

We called in for lunch on a Wednesday it was very busy, we ordered our meal and was shown a table, our meal arrived 10 mins later, it was hot and nicely set out, we had the speciality fish cakes and they were yummy, I would advise any who is near this place to call in and sample the food.

Whilst visiting with our grand children we decided to have fish and chips here, what a great choice..
