Pleasant stop for a short break with ocean views. Live music. Plenty of outdoor seating with some sheltered provided on the verandah. Cakes n bakes, gluten free options available.

Want to say don't come so I'm guaranteed a table when I visit, but as I don't get to visit to often, food is great staff friendly and a beautiful view, hidden jem and dog friendly

Loved this spot!! The staff were very friendly and the view was amazing! There is limited free parking on site and a small car park across the road (unsure if it’s free or paid). I had the red onion and goat cheese tart. It was delicious. My husband had a salmon, dill and cream cheese sandwich that was also delicious. Our coffees were nice as well and there’s a great selection of cold drinks! Most of the seating is outdoors so make the most of it when the weather is good. I wouldn’t say it’s very accessible. There are some tables on the ground that don’t require using the steps but the toilets are up some stairs and so is the counter where you order. However, the ladies bathroom has a nice fold out changing table for babies (not sure about the men’s)

Great food. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. We found it very cozy and authentic. Be sure to reserve only a few tables in advance.

Rude and unwelcoming. Asked for takeaway and were turned away even though only 4 tables were occupied at the time. Told takeaway only served during the day. It was 5.30pm. Such shame that staff were rude as the location is stunning. We won't be returning as a result of how we were spoken to.

Simple but good food, really lovely staff but the view/location is what sells it for me! Really lovely spot and worth a visit if you want somewhere a little ‘off the beaten track’. I’d love to visit in the evening for one of the music nights as I think this place would be incredible for that :)

Stopped off on a walk and was the perfect place for some lunch and a pint.

A real gem! Stumbled across it on our walk and we were very pleased we did. The sandwiches were so good we went back for another one! Good selection of drinks and very pleasant and attentive owners. Lovely place that deserves to do well.

Very nice location with lovely views. Quite steep so not wheelchair accessible. Parking is on uneven grass and some gravel. Fast and friendly service. Plenty of outdoor covered seating.

This is a lovely little place, the perfect escape when the tide comes in. Very friendly family run cafe with super covered outdoor seating.

Good scones and tea. Very good view, hence a bit more pricey than other cafes with no view.

Bit hair raising getting down to the bay but worth it. Quite a magical place. A fresh water river flows down to the sea and there are fantastic rock pools to explore.

Excellent food service and location overlooking Talland Bay beach . (Not the Talland Bay beach cafe beach) Had the prawn and marie rose bap and absolutely delicious. Plenty of parking which was surprising in such a location that has so little. If you are in Talland give a try you will not be disappointed.

We will definitely go back it. Beautiful views and lovely local ice cream. The cafe reminded me of a cricket pavilion. There was plenty of seating and toilets plus they sell alcohol if wanted.

We had a lovely lunch and stop over yesterday here. A lovely Fresh salad served with our Tuna, sweetcorn and cucumber bap. The cheese and onion pasty was also delicious. Toilet room was immaculate too. This family care about their cafe and more changes outside are presently being made as we speak. Watch this space. 😀

Great place to stop for food and drinks, the owners are really nice people.

The cream tea was tasty, but we were disappointed that there was only one scone in stead of two as shown on the picture. For only one scone it was expensive.

Enjoyed a ham and cheese granary cob with a side salad. The salad had a nice dressing and a pot of salsa. I also had a cappuccino coffee. I chose cakes from an excellent selection. All to be enjoyed with an excellent view of the bay. The owners are a lovely couple.

This placed is great after walking the coast from Looe Bay. We had a late lunch, paninis and cornish pasty. Paninis came with a side salad and dressing. Pasty was nice and hot. Food was delicious The restaurant also services alcohol and is dog friendly. Great place to visit

Tea was a total rip off! It came almost at room temperature, extremely weak and the prices weren't at display. So they just looked at my face and charged me however much they wanted. When I asked for WiFi? No. They take advantage of people who come in tired, soaked and clearly hungry & thirsty. Walk a bit further and choose the other café, by the beach. Cheaper, and the service is 50x better!

Lovely cup of coffee, nice friendly staff more expensive than other cafes in area, £7.00 coffee and hot chocolate but came with biscof biscuits so better service than other cafes so there you have it, try for yourself you won't be disappointed.

New people taken over, lovely selection of ice cream, cream teas, plenty of parking spaces. Stones throw from the beach. Very tiny windy roads to get to it, drive slow.

It's worth going to Talland Bay just to go to the Smugglers rest cafe. It's fully licensed, with a choice of beers, cider and wine. A speciality is iced coffee with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. There is plenty of staff, all happy to serve you with a smile.

Only spent an hour here but it was very enjoyable. Great view, nice seating in the shade in the middle of a heat wave. Great meat pasty!

Great place for a Barbeque or pizza in the summer except closed on Monday evenings. Booking essential.

Stunning place with great owners

Wednesday we wanted a meal. We have money to spend but no they are setting up their barbecue so no meals today on my wife's birthday. Two years of shutdown, dont these people want to make money?

What an absolute hidden gem. lots of parking available, also right on the south west coastal walk. A lot of work has been done by the new owners Lisa and Drew to a very high standard. The food and drinks are great and the prices are excellent. The view from the verandah has to be one of the best in Cornwall, if not the best. Will most definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our cream teas, with a great view over Talland Bay. They also have a decent range of ciders and beers, and the couple running the cafe were really friendly. I’d definitely recommend

The Smugglers has changed hands and I have one word, disappointing! A choice of 4 sandwiches/flatbreads at an extortionate price of £10!! Sausage rolls and pasties were on offer, but they had no stock @ 12.30pm. The queue was out the door as customers were waiting for the lady at the till to also make the drinks before serving the next customer. Waitresses were also not clearing the tables quickly enough. We had scones (plain and not the fruit that we ordered), but they were not cut evenly either. This is a gem spot and I hope they improve their service and add some reasonably priced sandwiches. Please bring back the baguettes!

Had a wonderful mixed ploughman’s here a couple of summers ago but every time we have called since it has been closed. Would love to go this summer if open 🌞🤞🤞

Nice and friendly but nothing special. Milkshake comes from a Powder and was not cold which surprised and disappointed my son. Prices are ok but we won't return

Very Covid safe, staff very pleasant.

Stopped off for a baguette and a pint and was not disappointed! Plenty of chicken in the baguette and the cider was icy cold. Service was good but it was the views were that made the meal! Dog friendly cafe. Very covid aware. Not really wheelchair accessible.

Stunning location shame it was long life milk spoiled the coffee. But location great staff very nice and the carrot 🥕 cake super.

We really liked it here, nice setting, not over priced, book early to avoid disappointment, if you want to book the evening BBQ well worth it, nice just to stop for an ice cream or cake or a light lunch

Friendly service and great views

I really like this cafe. The staff were great and clearly a happy team. Good spot for tea and cake with free parking. Also beers and seems to have an evening bbq some nights. Good ice-cream too.

Came across this place when waking from loo to Polperro. Staff seemed a little rude but was kind enough to refill my water bottle. Needed a mask to enter the shop but only accepts cash which is a little weird. Has a female and male bathroom and servers all sorts of food but limited on drinks, doesn't sell water again found that a little weird but if you got a bottle they will refill it.

A welcome sight after the coastal walk from Looe! Lovely views, and a good selection of food and drink. Everyone in our group enjoyed their lunch choice. Would stop here again.

Food looked amazing ( evening barbecue) stunning location. Couldn't stay to eat as they only take cash (August 2021). Apparently they can't get a signal to operate a card machine. (Maybe try EE, as my phone worked fine).

Tasty food but they seem to be a little confused about what a cream tea should be. They offered coffee or tea and although the scone came on a real plate and the tea was in a cardboard takeaway cup! Plus they didn't even ask if we wanted milk. One final comment would be the access road is single track and in good weather it can be a fight to get there with traffic but there is a decent area for parking.

Really nice cafe set on the high side of a field that you can park in, overlooking the sea and close to the beach. They do great food and drinks from friendly staff.

Awful service... Apparently sat on a reserved table... Unaware, we ordered food... About 20 minutes in we were told we had sat on someone's table and was asked to move to rain soaked tables... We refused and got a refund for our meals.... The manager tried to explain restaurant etiquette to me, unaware I ran restaurants and bars for 10 years... One company being greeneking. Absolutely love Talland Bay but this experience has ruined it for us... Shame My kids, one who is severely autistic left crying... No apology... Nothing... The lady owner seriously is awful in a customer facing environment

The worst place i have ever been to! After arriving at the place we took to the table. Waitress came and asked if this is our table, husband said i guess so. Being there with 3 children one of them being special needs we were quite distracted and after confirming with the girl we sat down. Same waitress came back and asked if we’ve been there before and know the drill to which we said no we haven’t and found out it’s cash only. Which we just about managed with the cash on us. Ordered food and drinks and after a sudden downpour all the not sheltered tables were soaked and most without even umbrellas for some sort of protection. So after waiting for our food for about 20/30 or more minutes a party turned up. The owner came and told us in no uncertain terms to move to one of the wet tables which we refused. We were basically kicked out to sit the party that turned up with no apology or anything. It was either sit in the wet or go. Never had i ever experienced a worse service and complete lack of communication between the staff and from them. This was my birthday but beside that i had to leave with three starving children nevermind me or my husband, we can deal with it. Disgusting!!! Turned my favourite place which is the talland bay into a place i do not want to return to. What was supposed to be a birthday treat in beautiful spot turned into a nightmare with three crying children and NO apology!!!!! TO THE LADY who I believe is the owner: you’re an absolute disgrace on hospitality industry.
