The falafel bolognese with rice is divine! And the staff is very friendly.

Got sambar lentil soup a little while ago and and it was really good. Had a range of ingredients and different to others I've had locally.

Hubby and I both had the falafel and houmous salad. Absolutely amazing, good wholesome bowl of tasty food for a bargain price. Very friendly staff. Also bought a tub of Thunder garlic houmous which was delicious.

Epic Felafel plate, and lots of gluten free stuff. The best hommus and Felafel I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Service was very friendly and food was quick. No complaints!

The falafel tortilla wrap was ok, I would have liked more falafel in it though, as you can see in my photo, when cut in half, you can't even see any falafel. As for the loaded fries, the potato tasted great, but the toppings were way too salty and overpowering, I would recommend just getting the fries on their own. Overall a decent meal but I was expecting better.

This place is a must! Dirty Dauphinoise Dippers with chill jam. Amazing!!! Salad bowl - many complimentary flavours makes a happy man.

Hands down best vegan & gluten free healthy meal I've had ever 😋 under £7 too! Crazy! Sucha find and would travel from Manchester for this happily. Packed with flavour which competitors always fail on. Well done! 🫶🙌🥰

Amazing homemade falafel sandwiches and salads. The chips with homemade tahini sauce were a knockout! The falafel is moist and flavourful. I recommend the falafel and hummus wrap, which is served hot and fresh. The pitta with falafel and hummus is also good, but be warned that it is a cold sandwich. The staff were so nice and accommodating. They genuinely seemed happy to be a work :-) Highly recommended.

We found this place thanks to Tripadviser. The satnav messed us about and we ended up seeing most of Brighton as we got lost trying to find it on foot. On the way we saw lots of tempting cafes and almost gave up and changed our plans but we're so glad we didn't. We arrived just as the market it is situated in was about to close so it was slightly lacking in atmosphere, but it didn't really matter because the food was exceptional, easily the best falafel and houmous bowl I've had. It was so good my wife bought the same thing as a takeaway for the next day's lunch and it tasted just as good. Great value as well. This place deserves to thrive, its fantastic.

Late lunch Thursday 23 March 5 stars for food and service This is the 3rd falafel place I've tried in Brighton this year and it's my new favourite! The whole menu is vegan and there are gluten free options which is great. My sister and I shared a BIG bowl of lentil soup, called sambar and had half a toasted falafel wrap each. It was soooooo good! With 2 coffees our bill was under £20! Really good place, will be back to try the potato dippers.

ABSOLUTELY Delicious food and very friendly staff. Tasty and very reasonable priced bearing in mind everything is made from scratch even the vegan mayo that came with my truffle fries and the pickled cauliflower from the dirty fries.. My wrap was hot and spicy and absolutely delicious. Amazing small independent street food place that shouldn't be missed if you are in the open market in Brighton

Stumbled across this place one day when I was exploring Brighton and the Open Market. I was torn between the falafal wrap and the veggie burger - I went for the latter and it didn't disappoint! Friendly service and delicious food. Love that I can pick up the Smorl hummus at my local stores too 🙌

Had the most delicious wrap today with the home-made chips too, absolutely delicious, as was the perfect flat white with out milk, extremely good value too and food really well presented. Really nice environment and setting too. Highly recommended.

Lunch Monday 20th March Best vegan place for lunch if you like falafel and authentic houmous! I've seem Smorl's houmous around Brighton in various delis, but only just discovered their place in the Open Market. It's great for food on the go, but you can sit and eat there too. We had a hot falafel wrap and a pitta pocket which was really filling and felt super healthy 🫶 5 stars for food and service

Wowwww I would come all the way back to Brighton just to eat here again - definitely not one to be missed! I had the salad bowl and my boyfriend had the falafel Bolognese - not something I’ve ever seen anywhere else and he loved it! Friendly service and affordable prices

Went with a friend for lunch, we both ordered but mine never arrived. When I went back and asked about my order, the guy behind the counter was very hostile and threw my money back at me. This took me by surprise and was very upsetting and completely uncalled for.

Gluten free options are rubbish if you want something filling, either too small or just salad. Next door is tasty korean food with big portions! If they introduced gf falafel wrap/ pita they have customers I'm sure!

OH MY we had only just had an amazing lunch but the description of this falafel wrap has us drooling….. It was incredible .. a literal rainbow 🌈 of colour and every taste and texture complimented the next in a wonderful way… I didn’t order one myself but when my man’s came out I had to grab half 😂🫶🏻 We used that as an excuse to not feel greedy and go swipe up some vegan desserts from the rest of the vegan market that was happening that day 👀🙌🏻 10/10 Best wrap I’ve had in Brighton hands down… better that what the pitta and £3 cheaper :) was smaller for sure but so so so incredible and I’d choose it every time

The best hummous this side of Beirut. And I only say that because I've eaten the 'authentic' variety which Middle Eastern communities are so passionate about. A plate of Lebanese style hummous and some fries to dip is my heaven. I lived in that part of the world for nearly a decade, where my sons addiction to it was formed, where my daughter was weaned on it. However! Smorl's is Brighton style. It's similar-ish to a hummous I tries to create a few years ago and failed. It's nothing like Middle Eastern hummous and what I love is that it is unique and doesn't try to mimic the authentic stuff, thus being a whole new brilliant recipe that has Brighton running through it almost as much as the rock on the seafront. You'll never touch a pot of supermarket hummous again and will research local stockists if you're unable to make Smorls HQ!

I had an excellent falafel pitta panini experience for lunch today. This is a great place for what and where it is. Lovely positive friendly service, and fun to sit watching the world go by in the Open Market.

Done really well - lots of spices and salad in a hot roll - really good for a lunchtime visit and people very friendly as well.

Simply the best from ordering through to it arriving on my table. The man running it had such a positive mood and was brilliant in serving quickly. The taste is amazing, very much complemented by the roast veggies and fresh tahini sauce. Not to miss 😀

... is what I call the chickpea. Smorl's turn it into the King. Their humus (try different types of garlic) and falafel are THE best in Brighton. Falafels are cooked in front of you. The wraps which include lots of crunchy salad are just the mutt's nuts.

One hungover sunday me and my lover were wondering through the market and spotted a huge shelf of houmous which is exactly what we were after to dip our massive bag of crisps each. We had a browse but both locked in on the same one. It seemed to be lit up by some godly aura or maybe it was just a beam of light.. THUNDER GARLIC. They had another called extra garlic so Thunder Garlic we thought must have been heavenly. The man behind the counter told us how many cloves went into it (Which I can't remember) But when he told me my grin extended ear to ear.. We bought 1 of those to share (Stupid decision as we now always buy a tub each). We stuck on some crap netflix show and ripped open Thunder garlic by the houmous gods was it good. Creamy with a huge taste of garlic which is always lacking in other garlic houmous's. Whenever we plan a hangover day we make our way to Smorls for some THUNDER GARLIC.

The person who served us, bearded dude, was very rude to us and this has put off my friend trying to be vegan. His attitude was awful, treating us like piece of *** basically. So SHAME on you! It was horrible and to be honest I don't think I will be back either. There is no need to be mean nor rude to your customers. Just chill out and be happy that people want to try your food and be vegan! So I wouldn't recommend this place only because of the atmosphere.

Fue una revelación: Kristian pasó un rato hablando con nosotros sobre el espíritu y la comida de Smorl y probamos algunas muestras realmente deliciosas. Sin duda volveremos pronto para el almuerzo.

Un ejemplo perfecto del hecho de que no tiene que gastar mucho para cenar de manera regular. ¡Esto es esencialmente un puesto en el mercado! Pero puedo decirle que le resultará difícil encontrar una comida sabrosa y saludable en Brighton. Smorl's fabrica todas las ensaladas y salsas, que se están haciendo cada vez más famosas por su humus extra de ajo. Llamé al día siguiente para una comida para llevar. Highly recommend the 'Thunder' houmous - it has incredible amounts of garlic in, half roasted, half raw. Lovely staff too.

Without doubt a highlight of any trip to Brighton. A real reason to eat vegetarian food. Sooooooo good.

I've been here twice and both times its been so yum. the first time i had a falafel pita and its such good value, when you consider its real food thats actually decent and good for you and filling and everything else. the other time i had the sambar dal with 2 iddli, again good food reasonably priced and when you eat it you don't feel like you've made a terrible decision, good choices.

Smorl's is my favourite place in Brighton. Exceptional value, always healthy, ALWAYS delicious. These guys do amazing things with falafel and hummus and I am constatnly blown away. A lovely friendly team of people too.

We came here with the Food tour and were so impressed with the owners passion about their food and the quality of the produce that we came back again the following day to purchase some houmous and a salad box to take back home with us.

I first tried these at a food festival and then visited them at the Open Market. Their hummus is the best I have ever tried, I would especially recommend the garlic one if you like garlic! Their lunch box is delicious and the service is fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Visited here on a Brighton Food Tour, Christian and his passion for his hummus is catching as it is absolutely yummy. Thankfully my husband works in Brighton and he can get further supplies!

i went to this place with my boyfriend after seeing it on the brighton food tour. im in love! i dont even like houmous! but my god i brought a few packs and already scared when it runs out.

This is one of the jewels of the Open Market. Superb home made falafels, humus and salads which can be eaten there on tables outside the cafe or taken away.

Terrific selection of houmous, with varying amounts of garlic to suit all tastes. Plus crispy-on-the-outside-fluffy-inside falafels. Totally delish!

Fabulous food - the falafel salad box is particularly good, with tasty, healthy, fresh sauces and salads. Easily the best falafel box in Brighton. The Waffalafel is very good too - a waffle shaped falafel with more exciting sauces and sides. Excellent houmous too.

Bastante bien, pero no era lo que esperábamos después de leer los comentarios. No estoy seguro si se supone que es falafel secas, pero nunca he tenido un falafel que no es muy seco. Incluyendo estos pequeños. Es bueno aquí, Houmous todo lo demás es bastante mediocre. Quizás sirven la comida diferente en comparación a comer en deliveroo?

Los ingredientes son de alta calidad y son un toque en la comida tradicional de oriente medio. El hummus estaba muy sabroso, sobre todo los más a ajo! Realmente disfrutamos de la plat 'salsa. Mucha variedad y muy sabrosa.

Este pequeño negocio familiar hace lo mejor de la cocina mediterránea que he probado nunca. El hermano y la hermana combo rezuman pasión por sus ingredientes y felizmente a los clientes acerca de cera de lírica, procesamiento de los productos acabados y deliciosos bocados sabrosos. Algunas de las salsas son fuertemente cargados de ajo y no apta para cardíacos. Disfruté especialmente el pastel de mezze, que consiste de una generosa porción de tarta sabrosa que contiene prácticamente todos los ingredientes del menú, exquisito y un maravilloso regalo!

We came to Smorl's on a Sunday lunch to try the falafel we'd heard about. So we were very disappointed when we arrived that they don't do their falafel on Sundays as it is their quiet day. But after a long walk we decided to stay anyway as we were ready to sit down. We opted for the mezze cake with salad which had a falafel type base but with different layers. A kind of layer bake really. It was served with three simple salads and tahini and chilli sauce. Well I confess I'm not vegan and the last time I had vegan food I thought it was very bland. But not at Smorl's. Lots of flavour and texture. Even the chilli sauce tasted fresh and zingy. A quick check confirmed my suspicion they make their own. With lime juice giving it the zing. A really good lunch. We will be back. And as it is effectively an open in cafe in the covered market, it is dog friendly as well. Very friendly people running it too.

Having recently moved my company into an office near Broghton's Open Market, I have started getting lunch from Schmorl's on a regular basis. The food is excellent - great falafel lunch boxes, pittas and soup with idlis. Tasty and healthy to boot!

I fancied something fresh, healthy and delicious and this hit the spot. The falafels are so delicious! I usually find falafels can be a bit dry but these were lovely! Salad ingredients were all fresh and a 'small' salad box filled me up.

I absolutely love getting my lunch here, ether falafel with salad and amazing houmous or spicy soup. Always a yummy healthy lunch to be had.

Stumbled upon Smorl's quite by chance and so glad I did. They stock a few excellent organic products, oil, olives...Their falafels are superb & their takeaway box was a delight. Lovely guys I'll be back!

Situato in questa specie di mercato coperto fa compagnia a fiverdi ristorantini etnici. Mi sono fermata qui (anche se non puoi sederti dentro ma solo fuori) perché mi sembrava pulito e ordinato oltre il fatto che avevo voglia di falafel. Ho ordinato l'insalata con i falafel e...wow..mi è arrivato un piatto bellissimo a prima vista e buonissimo dopo averlo finito! I falafel erano croccanti e le salse d'accompagnamento erano davvero buone!!! Che dire, vorrei tornare per mangiare la pitta ripiena con i falafel e le verdure e le salsine! !!! Comunque premetto che non sono vegetariana e ho comunque apprezzato molto che conteneva oltre alle solite foglie anche un misto di cereali e anche le lenticchie. Da provare assolutamente!

They make their own falafels here which are featured in wraps, pitta etc. Very good and reasonably priced.

This is the best falafel I ever had. It's soooo tasty. Been there before and today decided to order takeout and for my pleasant surprise Smorl's are on Deliveroo. So happy. Placed an order and got it in less than 20min. How they did it, no idea. Anyway, even if it was late I would've forgive them. Oh, forgot to mention the houmous. Just want to say I'm not vegetarian nor vegan but looking always for great food. This place offers great food.Love Smorl's. Trully amazing.

This is a cute casual hole-in-the-wall type place serving delicious veggie/vegan/gluten free falafel and houmous deliciousness. A large falafel lunchbox is stuffed with flavoursome and healthy middle easten style salad dishes, falafel, houmous and sauces. The girls serving are friendly and fun and the food is fresh, healthy and tasty. Excellent and decent value.
