Great manager- always goes out his way to help. Comfortable seating and booths . Plenty of variety of yummy dishes , always hot and the function room is great for tribute nights. 👌 Fabulous.

Visited this place to watch India vs NZ in the world cup semi final Curries were full of flavours and very spicy, the mixed grill was okay, not the best, not the worst, lamb chop was cooked well but the kebabs had too much garlic in Lager selection on draft isn't the best 6/10 #RineshRatings

Excellent Indian grill good value and very tasty , would definitely recommend.

Booked a birthday meal 6 adults and 4 children all under 5. Arrived to be seated and waited for about 5 to 10 minutes before any staff walking round acknowledging us standing there. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, people were sitting at the table and were asked to move by a staff member even though it stated it was reserved. Throughout the whole meal, they stood around us us in a merrily state, swearing and talking loudly. The reason for talking loudly is because of the music that's played that loud,so no one can hear a conversation. We asked how we ordered food, options which were either at the bar or on an app. We used the app as it was quicker and easier than to try and get to the bar area with people drinking and standing in the dining area. We couldn't fault the food, but the atmosphere with rowdy crowds of people standing around the dining area had really spoilt the family experience of a celebration meal. Definitely not kid friendly restaurant. I would have gone to a wetherspoons if I had wanted the same atmosphere experience.

A fantastic Indian desi pub/ restaurant with good draught beer selection.

Held a couple of our wedding functions. Subash was brilliant from start to finish. The team was brilliant too. Super accommodating and everyone LOVED the food. Would definitely hold future life celebrations there :) (Also they do the best masala cheesy chips, and lollipop chicken I have had in the UK. Calories should not be counted if engaging with the 2 menu choices described BUT tastebuds will Be happy.)

The two stars are for the waiter.. ! Food was so much red that the chef needs to realise that he poissnd it more in (food coloring) then anything else ! Ordered lamb ribs.. side of prawns.. side of chicken wings and garlic nan bread and the best think out of all was the nan bread (probably because he couldn't color t)

Food was fantastic 😋 we had a great nite... but only one thing let them down was the toilets 🚻 🙄 need to be looked at ASAP.....

Excellent all round wasn't the food I was expecting but the food was amazing all cooked fresh very tasty excellent service they don't scrimp on portions they are very good

Went here for the with a group from work, on a Tuesday evening. Quite a large venue, with plenty of indoor seating, and a small outside area as well. It was quite quiet, being a mid-week evening. Unfortunately they seem to have run out of some beers - Guinness and John Smith's both being off, but other options were available. Food was very good, all of our party did eat, with the Chicken Tikka Sizzler being a popular choice - and very tasty as well. Portions of all the dishes our group had were very good. Prices for both food and drink were very reasonable. Would definitely go back here again.

Great pub, helpful staff and a really brilliant atmosphere. Brill for family meals. Must remember to take my darts next time.

Been a while since I’ve been as both my self my partner and little had food poisoning from here so never returned. Reviews seem to have improved but would still be reluctant to return because of said experience

Wow! Absolutely loved this place. Stayed at the grotty Travelodge nextdoor when I was at a trade show at the NEC just so I could go here and was not disappointed. Great combination of American sports bar with awesome Indian cuisine. Friendly atmosphere and attentive bar staff, loads of big screens to watch the footy whilst you eat and simply delicious Indian food. Probably the best naan bread I have ever tasted! Will definitely be back if I ever find myself in brum again.

Love this place , food is amazing

Very disappointed as had high hopes based on previous reviews. Staff was polite and bar service was swift but thats the only positive from today. We ordered food using the online function which was simple enough. We waited like you do and saw table across the room a table receive thier food before us even though we ordered before. Went to the toilet thinking our food would arrive soon but was horrified to find no running water in the toilets to either wash hands or flush toilets. Returned to table thinking do i really want to eat chicken wings now without washing my hands to find out our order wasn't even placed as the terminal was unplugged. Once again staff was polite but didn’t seem that bothered that we had waited 50 minutes so asked for refund due to poor hygiene. Im not sure why this establishment is allowed to open without running water in both the ladies and gents toilets and would question just how clean the kitchen is .

Wonderful place, lot of space to sit inside and outide, you can order food and drinks online after scanning QR code. Pretty fast serving and amazing food! Definitely coming back! Really enjoyed time here :)

Went for my 50th and we had a such a great time. Food was very good, will be going there again.

Went for a 40th birthday, we had a whole section for the meal and the food was absolutely delicious and very good portions. The staff was all friendly and nothing was any trouble. I went with a wheelchair user, a ramp was put down for us which was left down the whole time so we we could come and go whenever we needed. Will definitely be going back again.

I booked and cancelled after looking at reviews. Daughter said it was a good place so booked again. I was apprehensive about food but when it came, it was amazing - wonderful taste, flavour, hot and rapidly served following order. I liked it so much I told waiter who told chef and chef came out to us! I congratulated chef and the manager later. Husband and I are very good Indian cooks and have taught many family members how to cook. This will be my NO 1 place to go for food. Superb, excellent and decent prices.

It's a shame this place is being letdown by some careless customers when the event is on. The wash room [gents,] is so disgusting. Really need staff to keep an eye out. Otherwise I would have rated 5☆

Terrible experience, no service, dirty tables, sticky menus and generally too noisy to sit down and eat. To top it off server gave food to the wrong table and when noticed tried to bring it back over to us. Will not return.

Had a Christmas party booked for my 7 year old daughter and her friends. Received an email yesterday cancelling without reason. She's sooooo disappointed. Avoid, staff awful anyway!!!

We stayed at the Travelodge next door and went here for a quick dinner as it was so close. We both had a burger and fries with 2 pints for less than £28. Can't complain about the price and the food was hot and tasty. The staff were pleasant and service was quick. It's a loud bar and was busy but we found a quieter area off the main bar.

Visited here on Sunday evening with family spur of the moment as recommended to me by a colleague . We didn't book so was happy they managed to seat us without reservation , had a great meal , all the foamily enjoyed must say the mixed grill was fabulous!, this is the first time I have visited . Staff very friendly , thank you Smokey Barrels I will defiantly be returning

The food was lovely and the service was good. There was one problem tho we ordered the veg deluxe expecting it to be a burger but when it arrived it was a pizza, even tho i said when i ordered it at the bar " can i not have to many chillies on the burger because it is for my young son". Not once did they mention its not a burger its a pizza was not happy at all. The southern fried chicken was excellent tho coukd not knock that at all.

£3 for a pint of lemonade on draft, I dread to think what a pint of beer costs, I was driving today thank god. The inside had a shabby chic look, the open plan sports bar had several large TV's all with the ubiquitous football on, it's loud and with a hint of rough. The food was hot spicy and tasty, it's expensive and small portions. Would I go again mmmm I'm not sure I would. I've been once and that's probably enough for me, because what I paid I could have a full meal at any local good Indian restaurant.

Visited for first time, disappointed upon arrival as the building was shabby, food was just ok. Good service though

This venue has probably seen better days. We found the cleanliness not great, with horribly presented damanged menus and a sticky table. Beer was flat on both the IPA and larger. Maybe a line issue but not a very enjoyable pint. Food is priced at a mid range price point but the food didn't really come up to standard. The currys themselves had a nice flavour, but poor cuts of meat and soggy / undercooked naan bread let it down massively. On the plus, the loaded chips were lovely, so that gains an additional star. We won't be returning unfortunately, which is a shame because on paper and the style of the place is right up my street.

Ordered food and they came out with the wrong order, they rushed the proper menu through at the loss of this being my worst food I ever paid for, only got a two because my wife's food was just ..ok. When someone came round I told him it was really terrible and why no reaction, he just carriedd on clearing up. I don't think I will be back.

Great place!! We came there for the 1st time in May and we ordered grilled mix, salad, rice with mushrooms and naan bread and both the presentation and taste of it was amazing. On top of that the staff is super nice and friendly. Would highly recommend 👌

We though we were going to a meat grill and bar, but inside it was 95% Indian with a couple of burgers and wings. Burgers and Indian was good although publicity was misleading. It looks like the meat grill had been taken over judging by the interior decoration.

Not what I expected, ostensibly an indian restaurant/sports bar, the FA cup final was on so it was very busy indeed. Queuing for the bar, but the staff were quick and efficient. The food was delicious. A free to hire function room and tribute nights in the room above, all in all a nice, decently priced venue.

Upon entry the place seemed nice and modern, nicely refurbished. We got sat at our table, the decor and rustic look is somewhat aesthetically pleasing and a warming environment. We was all expecting it to be a grill sort of place with BBQ options, but it’s mostly Indian curries / cuisine. There are a few alternatives. I had the Smokey Barrel burger and to be honest it tasted like a 99p microwave Rustler burger, but with some added cheese and onion. The buns were hard and crispy on the edges, and the burger smelled like dog food and it was also very dry to eat; I couldn’t eat it. The bhuna curries were nice and tasty but the were too spicy for a bhuna. It was also very very loud inside. Music was playing at full blast and our family couldn’t have a conversation without having to shout to each other. This ruined the evening as we went out for a family birthday meal but couldn’t speak to one another due to the loud music. Staff are polite but clumsy and kept dropping knives and forks on the floor, not very professional staff. We all said we wouldn’t go back there. It’s advertised as a mixed grill restaurant but it’s more of a sports bar with football on all the TV’s, and mostly curries on the menu.

Nice place drinks are priced mid range around £4 per pint. Food is OK but very expensive. I normally go to West Bromwich same food and in my opinion better would be half the price. Which is probably why they offer half price in the week

I came here for a work dinner and the food was amazing, we decided to stay for drinks as the atmosphere was great. I ordered one round of drinks, paid and took them back to my table, a woman came back over to say the payment didn't go through so I paid again thinking it was a card error. I looked at my transactions when I got home and the payment was took out of my account twice, so the original payment did Indeed go through. I have since tried to contact and they don't want to know. This is clear theft and will not be coming here again which is a shame as the food was the best I've had

A large, loud pub but a nice place that provided good food and beer. We had a birthday party here and had a good time. Not a place on a Saturday night for a quiet drink!

Always quality food and great atmosphere

Great place, although a bit confused with the name. Was expecting BBQ and steaks, it's actually mostly Indian cuisine. Not like that should put you off cause it was lush! Good for watching sports with some mates or out with family for a meal.

The smokey barrels is an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere and the customer service was impeccable. They were very polite and any request I had was met with no fuss and top quality service. My partner had chicken korma and she said that it was delicious and really creamy. I've never tasted better chicken korma. The korma wasn't greasy and it was so pure and nice. I had margarita pizza and I must say it was so nice and tasty and my word the chocolate brownie was incredible. We're not from round Birmingham but I must say If I stayed at the travellodge yardley again then I will definitely come back to this restaurant it's literally less than a 40 second walk to the hotel. The only downside was the mess in the toilets but that is not the staffs fault that is the customer's fault for leaving them in a mess. Only downside is the price for a pint of kopparberg which is 4.35 per pint but that's expected. 5 star for this restaurant and I will definitely be back.😁😀

This place has good food and drinks, it has a family Atmosphere, there is plenty of parking and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Expected steak or ribs as website stated texan bbq fare. Found Indian and pizza. We settled on wings and garlic bread for starters...amazing spices on wings best garlic bread ever tasted. Mains we went for pepperoni pizza again flavours where spot on and the red onions so crisp. Dessert I highly recommend the baked cheesecake. Prices we thought were reasonable and the atmosphere was welcoming..we went late afternoon. Ant to be honest we will be back.

Top food. Great service. You gotta try the spicy lamb chops. The smokey burger is also a winner but my favourite is the Rogan Josh...beautiful!

I cannot fault this place at all my 22month old daughter suffers from a severe peanut allergy and they done everything in their power to make sure she was OK even checking up on her from a far throughout the whole meal, such friendly welcoming staff, good food and amazing table service. Gave the compliments to chef an informed the management how amazing chantelle was, our waitress and going above and beyond for my daughter. Best service I've ever received.

Average mixed grill, there was food colouring in the sheesh keebab and tasted as if it was packed up with flour to bulk it up. Chicken tikka was the best piece for this standard rated grill

me and my partner decided to try out this place as we were staying around for the night. We have order curry and I can say, this was the worst curry I have had in my life. Both me and my partner were sick and we barely touched the food too.

The main meals were delicious & the service was excellent. However, when it came to desserts, I ordered 2 & they only bought one out. I then discovered they had only taken for 1 so i had to pay again for the 2nd one & then we had to wait absolutely ages for it to arrive with no explanation given. My child who has Autism then proceeded to have a meltdown as a result of having to wait so long.

Food was horrible.lamb was tuff.very expensive.terrible service.dont reccomend this to any1.

Smoking barrels with no steak, we didn't even eat.. We just got straight up out there. If want a curry and all that kind of stuff.... Great but NO Steak just lamb chops.
