SmokeWorks Tap in Cambridge

El lugar es desaliñado - en necesidad de una lamida o tres de pintura; dejaron la puerta abierta en un día frío. La mesa se tambaleaba tanto que no podías ponerle una pinta. Las papas fritas estaban crujientes en lugar de crujientes. Y luego añaden un cargo por servicio opcional.

Reservamos casi dos semanas antes de una mesa para dos personas arriba. Aparte de una mujer soltera en una mesa para cuatro, éramos los únicos. Estábamos sentados en una pasarela en una pequeña mesa para dos, que no era ideal ya que mi marido tiene seis cuatro y 'grunky'. Pedimos mudarnos a una mesa más grande, pero nos dijeron que todos estaban reservados, así que fueron trasladados abajo... hacía frío, me senté en mi abrigo y no había ambiente. Pedimos el Sauvignon blanc vino de la casa y estaban fuera, así que fue por una rosa. En la comida elegimos el plato de costillas de ternera, solo para que nos dijeran que no tenía nada. El plato estaba bien, cerdo pesado sin costillas de ternera. El puerto tirado y las patatas fritas cargadas estaban frías, las salchichas buenas, las alas buenas, especialmente el baño de barbacoa. Pasé las costillas de cerdo como no un gran fan de la carne de cerdo 🤷‍♀️ La camarera era muy dulce, asumió nuestra decepción en el plato. La ginebra ahumada era excelente, muy diferente especialmente con mi elección de ginger ale! El pastel de nuez moscada era bueno pero no había desiertos sin lactosa😢 En general no una maravillosa comida previa al concierto, pero la camarera compensó nuestra decepción. Tristemente y hora y media después seguíamos siendo los únicos abajo y había mesas todavía libres arriba / pero la música era 😊

We sat in the bar and ate. Great food great service the lads that looked after us were really polite with good personalities, really nice to be looked after. We went over the top and ordered the sharing platter for 4 (we were only 2) Everything was really good the chicken wings were banging & sauces were also really tasty. Needles to say we didn’t finish it but we nearly did 😅 Can’t wait for our next visit to Cambridge so we can come back to the smokeworks. Neither of us were fans of the Cumberland but the other sausage was lush

A very friendly place either a good selection of local beers. Food was good with many side options. Small but cozy. Would go again.

Visited today and had a lovely meal. I had a full rack of ribs and they were the best I’ve ever had. My wife had the pulled pork and she said the same thing and said the meat was lovely with no fatty bits you usually get. Staff were very friendly and we loved the light system for service. See you again soon.

A must visit when in Cambridge. We were lucky enough to just be in Cambridge to celebrate my birthday today and just was walking by your restaurant and discovered your menu and thought we were have some food with you. We had our dog with us and you accommodated us all which was fantastic. Food was amazing, short rib was delicious. We will certainly spend the word with our family and friends to also visit you as we will again in the future. Thank you for your food and great service.

So many positive things to say about dining here where to start? First of all the food. Selection is pretty good and it's exactly as you'd expect for a BBQ restaurant. What is served is flavoursome. Portion size is reasonable. Maybe not a great choice for vegetarians as non meat options is very limited. Decor is in the style of "industrial" with the lovely novelty of a red switch to turn to request service. However, what elevates this place is the staff. Despite getting a little muddled and arriving for our reservation an hour early (I know), they were accommodating and it wasn't an issue... Thankfully it was quiet when we arrived, things would have been very different if it was busy I suspect. The team bring the vibe and "fun" to dining here. Our host, Kree, was so chatty, friendly and engaging, she helped with choosing from the menu and made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. We left feeling full and like we'd made some friends. For a casual and fun meal with friends or as a family this is an ideal spot

Food hot and tasty, the service spot on. A lovely lunch. We passed on a busy Sunday around 12.30 and ther were tables spare so we popped in on spec, with no bookings. The service was prompt and efficient, and the food really tasty. It came out fast and hot. Absolutely nothing to complain about and will most definitely return.

While spending a day in Cambridge we stopped off here for lunch as had seen they had Gluten Free options. The staff were all friendly and provided a GF menu which had plenty to choose from. Once we were ready to order we just had to turn the switch at our table and a waiter came over straight away. The drinks and then food came very quickly and all tasted great! Definitely worth a visit when visiting the city.

Got a big meatup takeaway from smokeworks School Lane and get back to establish that the chips had been left out, it's been a month, two calls and still haven't received a £10 voucher promised as cost for the chips and inconvenience.

Been meaning to try this place for a long time and then the opportunity came up and glad we did. The BBQ was very tasty complimented with great service. Can’t wait try more of the menu.
