Bar and off license! One of the trendiest in Cambridge at the moment. Overpriced but silly fun.

Great spot to take friends for drinks / weekend evenings. Often a food truck out the front you can eat in which is a lovely addition and a great selection of craft beers and wine. A must visit when in Cambridge!

Summary of review for readers: If you purchase and drink their bottle inside their establishment you will be charged a £10 corkage fee as they operate as a shop and a bar. Reply to owners feedback: Hi Ben, thanks for your reply, that makes sense, however I still feel that it should be explained prior to purchasing or there should be a separate “sit down menu” with the charges. I was only informed of the fee when the bottle was half opened. There are other wine shops in Cambridge which also operate as a shop and a bar but do not charge this fee. Original review Charged me a £10 corkage fee for buying their wine bottle and drinking it at their place. Normally that’s only charged when you bring a bottle in from outside.

Always my favourite place for craft beer. Unparalleled selection, even having an excellent non-alcoholic option on tap. Different food trucks turn up here each evening so it's always fun, and they sometimes have comedy or music events in the back of the pub.

Cambridge has some excellent pubs. Even some of the Green King pubs are decent here. Thirsty is an outstanding place. It has a huge range of beers and extremely knowledgeable staff. It has a very diverse clientele, at least in terms of age. The music is excellent (and I generally hate music in pubs!), and there is a very civilized vibe. I don't want to sound too enthusiastic because it's not very big and I like to find a seat. Also, it has some high quality competition, which, for some events, might be preferable. For a quiet drink on a weekend evening, especially when it's cold outside, this is hard to beat. (When it's fine, Calverley's Brewery at the Othersyde may just have the edge.)

It was quite a small space but we easily found seats. The serve was fantastic and the drinks were delicious.

Large selection of wines and craft beers, but beware: the price on the menu for beers is intentionally tricky, as it always shows one price - but for different quantities. Lagers are given in pints, and more special beers in 1/2 or 2/3. This caused me to have to pay double of what I expected, as I thought a pint would be 6 pounds - but no, 12 pounds for a 6.5% craft beer, I would have never willingly paid. Feels intentionally tricky, and cumbersome. The bartender also immediately got my confusion, and therefore I cannot be the first one to have such an unpleasant surprise.

Wow what a place, if you like craft beers and good wine this is the place go. It's not a massive place but it has a big choice of drinks on tap. There was a food truck outside when we were there, the food looked fab but we didn't have any. Couple of tables and chairs out front. Only one toilet and had a bit of a queue at times. Its a bit out from the city centre, but you wont regret going here, staff very friendly and helpful, will be back 🍻🍻🍻

Pre booked a table as part of a hen do, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Th amaretto sour is stunning, and we'll definitely be back!

Cambridge's beer temple! Easily the best selection in town. The friendly staff are always happy to talk beer and hear what you thought of your purchase. Haven't tried their delivery, but the click & collect is quick and simple. Will definitely keep coming back!

Decent selection of beers, ciders, sours. There are also a number of canned beer, cocktails and wines available for purchase. The seating is quite close together and it’s not easy to move around if you’re with a group. New food trucks each day, seems like the same few rotate every week or so.

Best pub in Cambridge, we go every week and they never fail to make us feel welcome!

Gem of a place in a city with hardly any craft beer places this is a little oasis but get there early or you'll be standing

Great the way they've teamed up with the street food trucks. Good variety of food which is always very tasty. Helpful in the shop when I've popped in. Good selection of wines and beers. The mulled cider last year was very good.

Lovely bar with mega variety! I'm not a beer drinker but I enjoyed their lager & an espresso martini. Staff were really polite & efficient.

Haven't updated my review of Thirsty since Covid days, but since then I visit when I can. It has the best craft beer selection in town, hands down. Food trucks rotate around, but every one I've tried has been very tasty. Front room is bright and energetic, while the cozy back den has extra seating. The owners are excellent at keeping their beer selection updated on Untappd and Instagram, as well as the webpage. Taps rotate frequently and there's a single cask selection that offers things you won't find at your traditional pub. There's plenty of additional beers in can to buy, as well as wine and gin. Next, I need to buy a growler as they offer takeaway beer! Highly recommended for beer lovers!

Hipster bar with a massive selection of taps as well as tinnies from all over the world. Solid wall of wine too (and I'm sure much more out back). Feels more like a library that also serves booze. Regular food vans and during the day you can order off a menu from next door's deli (+coffee).

Not tried the various versions of food trucks that hold up outside but they always look like quality provers, the establishment Is a great little haunt for those who love their beers with a room at the back and a great range of amazing beers on draft and in the fridges too . Also an extensive range of wine at reasonable prices

Hidden gem in a lonely corner 😅. Superb service, choice is real craft ales, beautiful ambience and a variety of selection of wine. Fridge is full of more choice of can and bottle beers. There’s a cool tacos stall just out at the door, just mouthwatering 😋

This was the first time I went to this place and I thought it was excellent . I don’t normally go to this side of town for nights out so I was very pleasantly surprised! I like the food truck idea and the staff are very knowledgeable about the drinks they serve and sell. I would definitely recommend it.

We absolutely love this place. They make the best margaritas in Cambridge, the staff are delightful, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food trucks never disappoint. The wine and beer selection are also on point.

I’ve been here sooo many times in its 8 years of being opened. Great for groups (easy to book), great for romantic/ raucous (book den at the back or more at front), ideal for quick Sat PM pint with yourself and the dog (dog biscuits are free!). joe/ Ben/ Jen and team will sort you out with beat range of on tap or canned beers, wines and cocktails. And each night the food selection is varied- check their website/ Twitter feed. Just awesome! Here’s to the next 8 years!

The food is from food trucks parked outside. It works well. The selection of drinks is amazing and the prices very reasonable. The lack of music is great as (if you are a bit deaf) you can hear each other talk.

One for the nathan barleys out there but a clean lager and pleasant welcoming staff help a slightly dull seating set up

Yes. Always need a decent brew place on my travels and this ticks the boxes. Great selection of roper beer. Knowledgeable staff. Nice place. Also - every time I’ve been there they had a different food truck outside.

Best drinks and staff in Cambridge, if not the world.

Great place with plenty of space (including an unexpected quirky back room) and small beer garden that just catches the sun in the afternoon. Good range of beers (and cans to take home) and friendly, helpful staff happy to make recommendations (and welcome our dog). It was only a shame we found Thirsty so early in the day so couldn’t stay longer!

One of the best bars/tap rooms around tremendously large choice of beer and other drinks. And they have some of the food trucks in the UK!

Really enjoyed a few beers here. Deceptively large. Loads of good beers plus loads of wine (not sampled, for another visit). Rotating food vans outside will make every visit unique. Definitely worth a visit.

Popped in and loved the place. Amazing selection of beers. Coco pops stout was exactly what you would imagine! Great range of beers and fantastic and knowledgeable staff.

Good range of wines, excellent range of beer. The staff are all really knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to choosing something you mught like. It always has a great atmosphere too.

If you like your beers wild, weird and luscious, then Thirty is your place. Fridges filled with fine IPAs, strong Belgium beers and earthy wines, Thirsty is a quirky little independent place with that Hipster-vibe we’ve all come to know in Cambridge. The staff seem pretty au fait with the products too which is always a good sign.

Stumbled upon this place. Cannot reccommend more. Loved it.

Great place to try out new and creative craft beers. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful and I would definitely go here again! Prices can be steep but you can guarantee to find better drinks than your usual chain brands of craft beer.

One of my favourite independent craft beer bottle shop and tap room in Cambridge. Staff are very friendly, very knowledgeable on their beers and always willing to help. They always have a great range of both beer and wine in their fridges with a great choice of fresh craft beer on tap! With the food trucks outside I definitely recommend Thirsty to anyone. 5 stars from me!

Excellent selection of beers, multiple alcohol free ones and a good section of imported ones. They even did deliveries down to Jesus green and are popular with the running crowd.

Huge, well organised selection of craft beers and wines. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and interesting beers on draught too. I'd happily return to try it as a drinking venue rather than just a shop.

Amazing local wine bar with a very laid back atmosphere. Different food trucks serve from out front of the bar giving you an opportunity to support local businesses whilst trying a wide variety of food.

One of the gems in Cambridge with an incredible selection of beers and wines you'll struggle to source elsewhere. Staff knowledge and chat is next level and their partnerships with other indie food stalls across the region mean your fine bev will always be well paired with good food. 10/10 would recommend

Thirsty has single handedly supplied all of our booze during lockdown. Great place to spend your money if you want great beers and wines that you won't easily find elsewhere. The staff are all very knowledgeable about everything they've got in the fridges and are able to give great recommendations. Definitely check out their wine selections too - they do mixed cases which give you a great range of wine to try for a reduced price! Beer lovers will also love the freshly tapped beer you can take away and have in the park.

Great bar with an excellent selection of British craft beer on tap and in the fridge. Also several international breweries. There is also wine and gin (possibly other drinks) for your non-beer drinking friends! Recommended.

I really like Thirsty. Best night to visit is Thursday when the Wandering Yak food van visits.

First class local venue and wine bar with a huge range of craft too. Unusual, often excellent wines and beers. Great atmosphere. Not cheap by any means though.

The look of the place is not common . The Biergarten tables make it look quite unique in the local bar &pub landscape. The lady behind the bar that day (this Saturday) was extremely kind and helpful. The wine they have here are very interesting. Nothing vulgar. Beers are also impressively well chosen. Thirsty deserves attention. Will definitely be back here!!

A very relaxed atmosphere, great range of drinks (with more unusual selections) and friendly staff. Been here a couple of times now - as well as the other Thirsty along Kings Street - and would encourage everyone else to do the same. A little limited in terms of seating but otherwise a pleasant visit.

Nice, if somewhat pretentious. Very good selection of both wines and beers. Worth a visit, provided you don't take yourself - and it - too seriously. ;-)

I moved to Cambridge from Norwich in 2017 and to be honest had given up on the Cambridge night life. Norwich spoilt me with so many good independent restaurants and bars that Cambridge is missing. I went to Thirsty for the first time this evening and it has totally restored my faith in Cambridge. Brilliant choice of whatever your tipple is and the bar service was about the best ever (thank you Rory!). Really tried hard to find a beer my picky boyfriend liked (succeeded!!) and a wine for me and in going back to the bar for more, Rory remembered what we ordered the first time. I’d forgotten what it’s like to be impressed with the quality of what you’re served and the service as well as just being welcomed as a friend/person. 100% recommend this place to anyone!

Really recommend this play: outstanding atmosphere, possibly my favourite bar of all time. Insane beer selection and ridiculously funny and friendly staff, not to mention the beer garden and board games. Can't wait to go again.

Amazing little bottle shop and drink-in bar! Walked to this little gem from across Cambridge and was definitely not disappointed. Big selection of high quality beers, as well as cocktails and wines, on tap. If you want a break from the boring chain pub drinks of the city centre in a cool atmosphere, you have to come here!
