Smoked Street Kitchen & Bar in Thanet

Fantastic service for our group of seven. Friendly, helpful, attentive and the food came out in good time. We ordered 2 mixed grills for 4 people, and the food took up the whole table to start with, very generous portions. Chicken was amazing, as was the pulled pork, and beef brisket. Mac n cheese was good, as were the other sides apart from the coleslaw which was not nice. Also the ribs were really disappointing... the flavour was nice enough, but they were really tough and dry, a really hard eat.

The food was good, however our ribs were tough, didn’t fall off the bone like they’re supposed too. And if you eat in be ready to come out stinking of deep fat fryers. Their fans are not strong enough to extract it before it hits the sitting area. (It’s an open kitchen dining area.) But what really lets this place down is the service I think. A waitress who clearly didn’t know what she was doing (think it’s all one family that work there so people are just thrown into roles). Kept forgetting everything and apologising. She needed training and she needed support. She also needed a hair band, if your hair is past your shoulders and you’re serving food then tie it up! We arrived for dinner but the floors were still dirty from their lunch service. Chips and bits everywhere. We were sat chatting for a while and saw several people come and go, but didn’t see one table get cleaned with any sort of cleaner or cloth between customers. Toilet is outside down some steps. I’d say it is definitely a pit stop place, not a family meal place. We enjoyed 90% of what we ate and the menu was big so we would eat there again but like a lot of couples who were coming in, we’d get a takeaway or stay at home and get a delivery. Wouldn’t have ribs again though!

Popped in as wanted a quick bite & came highly recommended. Good service, delicious food (we each had a burger, chips, salad and coleslaw side, £38) Excellent value . Definitely will visit again when back in Broadstairs in the summer.

Fancied a change, so having seen the restaurant is dog friendly and have a special Wings Wednesday thought we would give it a try. Disappointing on arrival, bit grubby and strong smell of cooking oil which was off putting. Big choice of wing flavours and dips, I made a poor choice honey BBQ was tasteless and needed jazzing up with table sauces. Also not sure if a genuine error or cost cutting/recouping the £ on the offer but we were both given 6 wings not 8. Wouldn’t recommend.

I have eaten here three times now and can't say I've had a bad meal. All three meals have been high quality. I tried a different meal on each occasion and have never been disappointed. The size of the meals were above average to the point, they wrap up whats left for you to take home. The quality of the food was outstanding. I have recommended this restaurant to many people with most of them saying 'already been'. Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. The music creates a relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy your food with the company of others. Trying to think of a negative...but there isn't really one. I guess I would have preferred nicer weather to sit outside but it seems to be raining each time I go.

Stumbled across this newly established restaurant in the Summer and what an absolute gem. The photo attached was the lunch menu, with a drink, for £12. Best thing about it other than the delicious taste, my son also got his meal free. A real family friendly deal in such hard times for all. My son doesn't eat a great deal and can be very picky (he is autistic) and he was left wanting more, absolute gold dust moment. The owner, is an absolute gentleman, you can tell he is an astute business man with a passion for food. He was wonderful with my son also, if I was to hazard a guess, I'd say he is autistic himself, very patient and understanding. The waitresses were very attentive and asked the right questions at the right time. It is an open kitchen and you can watch your food being cooked. The restaurant itself has a unique style and decor like no other. I've frequented this place a few times since and what I wrote in my review was matched every time. Having been in a few times now, I have picked up on a few staffing issues (I am nosey and like to know what's going on), these seem to have been rectified very quickly albeit some childish behaviour going on but the true colours of this establishment will shine through and weed out these rotten bitter individuals. I hope this place stays for a long time, for my own selfish desires but also for the wonderful staff and owner, wishing you all a positive prosperous future. Thank you for providing such a community involved service and not just focussing solely on profits.

Went to the restaurant a couple days ago with my friend who’s lactose intolerant, we both absolutely loved it and they were very understanding about her dietary needs in terms of her not being able to eat loads of lactose. Such friendly staff who prioritise that your needs are met the whole time you’re there making it a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Also had my 18th birthday there last month and they went out their own way to decorate the table and make it a special evening for me and my friends! Overall amazing place snd 100% recommend

Excellent food, the four of us had the ribs, goat curry was delicious and tried the special a trio of sliders which was pulled pork, jerk chicken and lamb and mint, all were exceptional. Staff all friendly and really enjoyed the variety of background music, a venue which is a find in Broadstairs. Halloween special cocktail also went down a treat. Will be back to try the other things on the menu plus try the American breakfast with pancakes-yum!

My sister, my mum and I visited this restaurant on Saturday 30th September to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who directed us to sit outside in the back garden, and she was soon at our table answering my sister’s questions about the gluten free options. My sister is coeliac and cannot eat gluten, and after the previous events of the evening we felt reassured that we would be having a delicious meal that all of us could enjoy. Sadly, despite the initial attentiveness of the two waitresses and receiving our drinks, it would appear that we were forgotten about and we were left for almost an hour without our food and without any update as to its whereabouts. During this time another couple were seated outside, having arrived half an hour or so after us, and they had received their food. Just as we were about to leave, one of the waitresses who had served us earlier came out to query something about our order. Understandably disheartened by our long wait, I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waitress and requested that our food order be packaged to take away as we were tired of waiting and quite rightly frustrated. The waitress apologised and we waited a further 10 minutes before agreeing to pay for our drinks and leave. By this time, our food was ready so we paid the bill and left, keen to get home and eat after what had proved to be a disappointing evening at not one but two Broadstairs restaurants. Upon arrival at home, we were once again disappointed. Our order was incorrect and certainly not worth the almost £60 that we had paid. The portion sizes were paltry and my mum and I did not receive the gyros we had ordered. The purpose of this meal out was to celebrate my sister’s birthday. For someone with a food allergy, eating out can be a stressful experience and being forgotten about and then treated as an afterthought was upsetting and deflating to say the least. I understand that the head chef has recently left, I contacted him and he was very nice and apologised even though he no longer works there. It seems it has gone downhill quickly since his departure.

Food was worse than a cheap cafeteria cheap kitchen roll instead of napkins £23 for a piece of pulled pork over cooked lump of vegetables lumpy potato

Been here now I think 8 times haha, only just noticed you have a trip advisor. Genuinely the only place I can say i have never had a bad meal. Food is always a 10/10, never wait long and service is amazing. Always tip as this place deserves it, will continue to go here!

We visited as a family of 5 with a baby and the staff were brilliant and welcoming. Food was great, portions larger than any restaurant I’ve been to, with a rack of ribs being a very large rack. Flavours were brilliant, will be looking to return!

Went for dinner at smoked last weekend, Amazing as always, i have enjoyed Dan’s food since he was at the quayside kitchen in sandwich but having his own restaurant space has taken his food to another level. Fries were amazing as always, burger was juicy and tasty and the mixed grill was a thing of beauty. Also the house made chilli jam is amazing as always. If you are considering visiting smoked then just stop considering and do it. You wont regret it.

Fantastic. The best meal out I've had for a long time. Excellent food at a reasonable price. Cocktails and Real Ale I couldn't ask for more.

This place was amazing , the food here is incredible and there was much more on the menu I wanted to try too, I had the brisket which if memory serves me right is smoked for 6 hours and then slow cooked for 24 and finished with a stock made out of the bones. The staff were really friendly and happy to tell me about the dishes and you could tell they had a real passion for it, only slight downside was had to wait a little bit to pay as they were all sorting out a delivery I think but apart from that couldn't fault the place

The food was excellent the service was unique and the burger was was splendid .. like a dream come true.. the Louisa bay club, cheesy cheeky and full of flavour.. the chips are crispy and nice and had a cool seasoning . We will be back

What a great place! Super-friendly greeting, helpful staff, and brilliant food. A huge rack of moist succulent ribs, hiding a good portion of crispy salt-encrusted chips, and sides of home-made slaw and sweet smokey bbq beans, all to a soundtrack of rockin’ blues and Southern boogie. I meant to take some away, but failed miserably - finished every bite! Do yourselves a favour and treat yourselves to a great meal.
