Smithtons' Food Market in Solihull

Llamamos a esta panadería independiente para una barra de pan. Compramos una pequeña barra de granero y un rollo de salchicha. Ambos eran de muy buena calidad. Nos dimos cuenta de que también tenían una cafetería así que parada para una taza de café. Aunque el pan era de muy buena calidad, no tienen forma de cortar la barra.

Gran cafetería con buena comida, pero pasan hambre, ya que las porciones son grandes. Admite perros y tienen instalaciones para niños pequeños también. Gran instalación comunitaria. Se ha convertido en un destino por derecho propio que es genial, aunque tengo la suerte de vivir cerca! Ambiente relajante. Pero ten en cuenta: Preferiría platos a tablas de madera y pizarra.

Visitando el área local y decidió parar en Smithons para un almuerzo. Quedó impresionado con la gama de alimentos y pedir 2 x tostadas y un poco de agua, y estaban emocionados de tomar un café después con uno de los deliciosos pasteles en exhibición. Aunque la comida es buena - el servicio era terrible. Tardaron 20 minutos en llevar el agua a la mesa y esperamos 45 minutos para las tostadas. Tuvimos que recordar al personal dos veces acerca de la comida y fue solo unos 5 minutos antes de que se sirviera que realmente comenzaron a hacerla. Si este hubiera sido un período ocupado podríamos haber entendido si nos hubieran dicho si el retraso en el pedido - pero la zona de estar estaba medio llena y había al menos 4-5 empleados trabajando. Finalmente nos fuimos sin pedir café / pasteles ya que se nos acaba el tiempo. Comida - genial Servicio - pobre ¿Volveríamos?

Como cliente habitual desde que se abrió Traté a amigos por un cumpleaños ... no habían estado antes ... nos trataron como a la realeza y el servicio, la comida y la bebida no podrían haber sido mejores ... mis amigos quedaron muy impresionados ...

Muy amable y acogedor a la llegada, servicio rápido que ofrece para conseguir chocolate vegano adicional cracknel si necesitaba más. Gran café con leche de avena para llevar. Hemos probado el pan fresco antes que era encantador. Un montón de lugares para sentarse y un área en la parte trasera donde los perros pueden ir. Sin duda recomiendo.

I love this place for delicious cakes and some of the best bread locally! The staff are always lovely and make you feel welcome. Will be back for more!

Stumbled upon Smithtons when looking for a bakery & couldn't resist an almond & cherry slice as well as a croque monsieur for breakfast. The place is really nicely decorated with a rustic feel & a selection of products on sale. The cake & croque monsieur were served on a slat & what looked like a chopping board which seemed more style over function! The croque monsieur was huge but there was a disappointing amount of filling & melted cheese on top. The bread was really thick but there were only a thin slice of ham & a thin slice of cheese sandwiched between the bread, and some bechamel. There was also not alot of cheese on top. The bread was crisp & delicious when toasted but the lack of filling meant it was pretty underwhelming. Certainly not the best croque monsieur we have had. It was served with some cheese & onion crisps but there was also the option to have it with salad. The almond & cherry slice was not as moist as expected & the base was hard and difficult to slice through. When you got to the cherries, they were really tasty but there weren't that many. There were only a few of the slices on display so they were probably leftovers & not freshly made. Being served on a slate meant the table got most of the crumbs! Overall, Smithtons had a lot of promise & we were looking forward to what we had ordered but they were pretty average & underwhelming when we had them. We did have a bite of another sweet which had taster portions on the counter - think it might have been shortbread with something like a Twix - and it was really good. Also another customer's order of toast with avocado, eggs & mushrooms looked far more exciting than the croque monsieur so perhaps we had chosen the wrong things!
