Smiths of Bourton in Cotswold

By luck we chose this restaurant for lunch and loved it so much went again the following evening. Smiths is a charming restaurant full of character, with a number of low-ceiling rooms. We had the” scotchy burger” both times and it was absolutely sensational. Cooked to perfection, full of flavour and quite possibly the best burger I (and my wife) have ever had or could remember having (and I’ve had a few!). The cajun fries were also perfectly cooked and added a spicy side to a (moderately) spicy burger and we left wishing this place wasn’t 2 hours away! The staff were friendly , especially the young blonde lady who was so welcoming and accommodating to us and also made the delicious chocolate mousse special that we had for desert. Definitely advisable to pre-book, this place gets very busy, and deservedly so.

I enjoy burgers both at home and out to dinner. I will have to say, this is the best burger I’ve ever had ! It was cooked to perfection and still very moist with a ton of flavor. We only went there because it was a rainy night and it was right across from our hotel. It was fabulous and one of the best dinners in the UK we had ! Well done !

Lovely welcome and staff looked after us very well! Food was lovely, cooked really well and very yummy! Left feeling very full and luckily had a walk back along the river to home.

They do great burgers there is no doubt, but the service and rudeness of the staff spoils this restaurant. They all need to go on a hospitality course. I wouldn't return.

Oh my, it was excellent and food was amazing. Don’t be put off that it’s a ‘burger joint’. It’s so much more. A welcoming arrival, cost restaurant with a great ambiance. A good mixture of locals and tourists… Lots of choice for burgers, fries, potatoes and sides. The food was hot, was not rushed, and even provided takeaway boxes for the very generous portions. Would recommend the Scotchy Burger, not too hot and spicy, and the tatter tots with pulled pork…. Simply devine. Make sure you book your table, as it was rather busy on a Saturday night….

If I could give Smiths of Bourton a 10-star rating, I would. My husband agreed with me that our burgers from Smiths were absolutely the best we have ever had. I don't know if it was because of the seasoning, special sauce, or grilling technique. It really did not matter as we thoroughly savored every bite. I am so glad we stumbled across Smiths during our stroll through Bourton-on-the-Water. It is an awewsome restaurant.

Smiths has a great vibe and excellent menu choice both for drinks and food. The burgers we both had were exceptional along with 1 of the 2 sides we ordered. Unfortunately the Mac and Cheese we ordered was underwhelming and felt overbaked/overcooked. Drinks menu was vast and could have happily just gone for some drinks in there also. The service was fairly slow throughout the evening which did impact our decision to have an early night and not stay for an extra drink. Would return for sure for the burgers alone as they were possibly the best burger I’ve had in a long time, only negatives was the inconsistent service speed and the underwhelming Mac and cheese

Really good food, however waitress very rude and ruined our experience to an extent. She was absolutely miserable, did not smile once! Threw the side plates on the table without saying anything. The waitresses spent the majority of the time in the bar area gossiping so you couldn’t get their attention. Overall food was really good but not sure I would return as her attitude was appalling.

We visited for my 30th over the bank holiday weekend. Fantastic restaurant that is a must-visit when in Bourton. Staff were so friendly, the food came quickly and was incredible! Loved the daiquiri pitcher too! Pricing was true to the quality of food, service and location.

Poor service average burger ordered drinks asked three times where our drinks were they arrived after we had finished our meal would not go back there

Great burgers and sides. Excellent cocktails and to top it off really lovely welcoming staff. A great place to eat in Bourton on the Water. Better than the rest.

Food expensive for what you get. £15 for a standard size burger, on its own, then £4 fries and £3.50 for a coke. So an expensive burger lunch for one, if I had been with the family it would have been extortionate. Poor service, waited 25 mins for a menu, then 35 mins for them to come back and take my order, which in the end I had to go to them to ask to order. Was given white vinegar in a small jug so no idea what that was about, then pepper instead of salt. No Wi Fi at the Restaraunt either. The only time I have ever refused to pay a service charge, which was automatically added onto the bill, as is more common these days. Disappointed with the experience having read the other refused and come here instead of some of the other lunch options available.

Our host, David, of Coombe House highly recommended this burger joint and I'm glad we went there. My husband had the classic double. He closed his eyes after the first bite and I knew it had to be good! I had the chicken burger and eventhough I'm not a big chicken breast fan, this burger was moist and so well seasoned, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was very good with helpful staff who were knowledgeable about allergies. Very happy we tried it.

Great speciality burger restaurant. Everyone in our party said their burger was amazing. We had the Triple B (goats cheese and pulled pork in an amazing Blueberry bbq sauce), classic and the Scotchy (nice and hot). Excellent communication from booking to arrival. Exceptionally happy efficient staff. Would highly recommend a visit. We just wish there was one of these restaurants near us.

Great fresh food, we had burgers, chicken tenders and fries and it was all really good. Was quite quiet for for an afternoon in half term, service was quick and efficient. Their homemade BBQ sauce is great.

Smiths is thoroughly recommended! My girlfriend and I went for dinner which saw us sample starters, mains and cocktails. The chicken tender starters were excellent with a nice variety of flavours available. I then had the smiths classic which was as good a smash patty burger as I've had anywhere at top London burger spots! The cocktail menu was also extensive with lots of unique and innovative cocktails to choose from, we settled on the espresso/chocolate martini which was great. Special mention to the staff also who were very friendly and attentive throughout our time at the restaurant. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening and wholeheartedly recommended!

Hands down the best burgers i think I’ve ever eaten. The choice on the menu makes it very hard to choose as they all looked and sounded delicious. Me and my friends decided to share all our burgers and side as we all wanted to try what the others had! and not a single dish disappointed, they were all delicious. The staff are super friendly, the restaurant and the village are beautiful. Will definitely be returning.

Best Burger place I have been to in a long time. Over the Easter weekend we visited bourton on the water and stumbled across smiths of bourton for lunch. The staff were friendly, the service was attentive and the food was the icing on the cake. Burgers all round with a selection of sides. Delicious, hot and fresh. I’ll be recommending this place to everyone whose taking a visit to bourton on the water

The worst food I’ve had in a long time chicken tenders starter were overdone and tough as leather, the main burger was burnt to a crisp I ordered a double but got a single as the waitress never heard me say double it up, just as well considering how bad it was. Left me feeling sick all day. The place wasn’t even busy so should have been better than it was. On the plus side the Cajun fries and latte were nice. Never going back

We came for dinner. We ordered 2 vegetarian burgers. After about 20 mins a very nice waiter came over and told us the gas was off and so no chips. We were offered a salad. The salad arrived and we were told it had bacon in. Really?. We had made them aware were were vegetarian. The salad was taken away and a new one brought. The burgers were nice. Nothing special but nice enough. My husband had a beer and me tap water. Bearing in mind I only had a burger and nothing else and my husband a side salad...which we mistakenly thought was on the house due to the issues, the bill came to £47.90. On checking we saw the house salad had a charge in £9 and a £4.30 service charge. We questioned this with the very nice waiter who agreed it seemed alot. He offered £2 off which then was raised to £4. He seemed quite nervous so we didnt make a fuss but told him we were not happy and paid £42.90. On the way out anotger guy asked us if wverything was ok. I told him we were unhappy. He said it wasnt our dault the gas went off. I get that but it wasnt ours either and to get s bill for £48 for 2 buns with a burger in and a bit of salad, oh and a beer is outrageous. No customer care at all. Totally feel ripped of. We stayed when other customers walked out as we felt bad for them. Really wish we had joined them

Visited with my husband on a Saturday, we both ordered a burger each & 2 sides. The food was absolutely amazing couldn’t fault it. Just such a shame about the wait, we waited just under an hour for our food! I understand it’s a weekend and it’s all cooked fresh I just think this is a long time to wait for 2 burgers and sides. I overheard two other tables complaining to eachother about the wait. And when one lady asked one of the waitresses (long brown hair) how long the food would be and she replied very abruptly ‘you’ve only been waiting 20 minutes but shouldnt be much longer’ me and my husband both said how rude it was. Also a table behind us ordered 10 minutes AFTER us and got their food 20 minutes before us! A shame as like I said the food was absolutely lovely

Awful customer service on our visit. Had to request staff twice to remove dirty plates! Had to go and ask what puddings! One option available. Sebastian confirmed candles would be added for a special touch. This didn’t happen. Will not be recommending or returning.

Great evening shared with our son daughter in law & granddaughter. The burgers where all lovely and juicy. Two of us had the blue cheese burgers one the chicken and the other had the scotchy. We all shared Cajun and regular fries and a side of Mac and Cheese all of which where yummy. Super food, very friendly waitress, only downside the drinks are over priced.

I returned to this restaurants with high expectations as I had been here two years ago and it was lovely. I was so disappointed, not only were the staff rude and dismissive to us and many other people who were there the food was not as described. A blue cheese burger was supposed to have crispy shallots, it was full of raw red onion. If you are going to charge a lot for a burger make sure it is what it says. As an owner of my own business, I could see they didn't value their customers, a shame as before it was much better. Value your customers, they may not be around long if you treat them like us. Unfortunately, we won't be returning!

We have been to Smiths a number of times and have never been disappointed- it’s just gets better and better! We went for my 14 year old son’s birthday and he said it was the best burger he’d ever tasted. It really is next level. The service is excellent- attentive but not ridiculously so. Toilets are clean and nicely decorated. The house wine is affordable and really very good! We will return again and again.

Have been meaning to try Smiths since moving to the area a couple of months ago but have never really been a burger lover, however after eating at Smiths I might change my mind! We were recommended the place by a lovely couple we met on a dog walk who sang its praises, and we were not disappointed. I had the Classic with the miso and burnt butter mayonnaise which I would happily slather over anything and everything and the pickles were genius as they really helped to cut through the overall richness - loved the slightly charred, crispy edges of the burger too. My partner had the Blue Cheese burger, which had the perfect amount of blue, which so often overpowers every other flavour. We also had a side of Dirty Tots which were piping hot, crunchy and delicious - all washed down with a couple of glasses of prosecco and a bottle of red. Seen other reviews and yes, there is a bit of a wait, but this is not a production line of ready-made patties thrown on a grill, and when the finished product is that good, it's most definitely worth the wait. I had the pleasure of bumping into Theo, the chef and part owner, who is obviously really passionate about what he does, and it most certainly shows on the plate. My partner and I have recently come out of the service industry after 19 years so know how tough it is to get it 'right'. Great to see a focused, simple concept executed to perfection - well done guys and see you next time, as I can't wait to try the Hot Chick and my partners going for the Scotchy.

We visited for a casual lunch and ordered a burger, fries and a salad. We waited over an hour for our food with minimal acknowledgment that anything was wrong. My Husband and I had a great evening at Smiths last week. Kai, the Manager called me during the day to confirm my reservation (which was nice). He and the lovely waitress looked after us so well. They were welcoming and very hospitable throughout the evening. Kai immediately offered to bring us a fresh water bowl for our dog when we arrived. The food was great - we had loaded nachos, classic burgers, dirty fries, slaw and topped off the meal with Baileys Chocolatinis. Everything was delicious. This restaurant has a lovely, relaxed, yet professional vibe. The fun atmosphere made it stand out for me as one of our more memorable Cotswolds dining experiences. No doubt from May 17th Smiths will be very busy once indoor dining returns and I wish the whole team lots of luck and all the very best for the future!

The food here is ridiculously good! The chicken burger is to die for, we also had a beef burger, macaroni cheese, dirty fries (insane!), truffle fries and stuffed jalapeños. We couldn’t stop talking about it the next day The cocktails are also delicious and the staff are friendly and knowledgable about all the food and drink on the menu. We can’t wait to visit again when we are back in the area!

We visited tonight this restaurant-bistro for the first time. On the phone a lovely lady took our booking also if I called at last moment. When we arrived the atmosphere was cosy and nice. Staff very friendly, and passionate. The manager came to the table many times and we appreciated a lot their lovely customer service. Burgers were excellent, and puddings suberbe. An Amazing well done to everyone. Thanks guys, you made us feel spoilt and really well looked after. To finish, one more thing to raccomend is the baileys chocolatini. We will come back for sure!

Visited the Cotswolds for a day out with my girlfriend and we bumped into this little gem of a place! Service was outstanding and so was the American style burger. For anyone looking for a spot with some genuine people and hearty food - this is the one.

Wow! Best burgers ever, tasty and juicy. Have to say chips were exceptional too. Some of the best chips ever eaten. Generous portions. Thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family, luckily we live in the village and will definitely be ordering again! Thank you to everyone at Smiths.

Food was pretty good - burgers super tasty , got our order wrong though and chips were extremely salty.

My partner and I opted for the burger delivery recently and absolutely loved it. The quality of the beef was succulent and juicy, the flavour was brilliant and all in all a very good size. My new favourite spot for a proper burger. My partner had the Vegan burger and was very impressed, easily the best she has had locally for years. Can’t wait for you to reopen so we can sit in and soak up the great atmosphere. 10/10

Recently bought a takeaway from these guys, they were very pleasant but both were not wearing masks inside the restaurant whilst serving and taking money. Sad that they feel they don’t have to abide by the rules. They should put a mask on whilst taking money if nothing else. Talking of money we upgraded from normal fries which come as standard with the burgers but instead of charging the difference in price we got charged full price!!! very disappointed with the whole experience. Takeaway food was ok.

Food was just fantastic! Loved the burgers and the Mexican corn was so tasty :) staff were really friendly and it's in agreat location. Cant wait to come back! Oh and the doughnuts and muffins were a real treat!

People have talked about this being the best Burger ... NoWhy... well its over seasoned with salt.... the guys are doing a great job with trying to smash the five guys way and are so close but just too salty.Halloween cocktails a nice touch......Loaded fries lovely taste with the American cheese.

The decor is great and it’s perfectly situated in the town. The food was good, but took some time to arrive. Our waitress spent quite some time chatting to customers she knew and left customers waiting.

Great little restaurant with delightful staff. Burgers is the main feature of the menu and very tasty they were too! My wife enjoyed a very well made cocktail while I had a local craft beer. Would recommend.

If you like a good burger and good service you must eat here. My husband and I shared the nachos to start which were loaded with the usual toppings - the guacamole was delicious! We both had cheeseburgers and fries (my husband opting for the double patties with extra bacon) - we both agreed it was the best burger we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a few!!!). If you’re in Bourton please go and try for yourselves! You won’t be disappointed.

Disappointing lack of variety of their burgers. Only beef or vege. A chicken burger would go a long way!The drinks were great, but very slow. Ordered a wine and a bottle of soft drink just before our food arrived. Didn't arrive until all of the food was cold even after prompting the service staff a few times.Couldn't diagnose what was wrong with the chips. Either undercooked or poor quality potatoes used.Cheap condiments also let them down. Runny/watery ketchup and cheap off brand mayo sachets.The atmosphere of the place is great though and plenty of space between tables for covid hygiene, which saves this review being much lower stars.I would recommend going to the gastropubs locally for food, and enjoying drinks here.

I found this place on their social media and was attracted to the good looking food! It did not disappoint. Specialising in burgers (they also had veggies and vegan) with some excellent sides. Serving locally brewed beer too and they had a lovely bar area.

Este restaurante es una gran combinación de muchas cosas que funcionan. . . . !El edificio es una mezcla peculiar de lo antiguo y lo nuevo, el menú de bebidas ofrece cócteles maravillosamente indulgentes y cervezas y ginebras tradicionales. Y la comida es absolutamente deliciosa. Nuestra comida fue excelente pero especial para las papas fritas sucias y la hamburguesa vegana (¡que sabe tan bien que casi duda que sea vegana!)Este restaurante hace las cosas de forma sencilla pero brillante.

Era una tarde cálida y no estaba en una calle concurrida. Mi marido tenía las alas para empezar y ambos tuvimos la hamburguesa triple con tocino y queso de cabra. Normalmente no elijo hamburguesas, pero si todas supieran así, las elegiría siempre. Eran las mejores hamburguesas que hemos probado en mi vida. El ambiente era relajado, muy agradable y la música era de nuestro gusto. Lo disfrutamos tanto que volvimos por una segunda noche, reservando una mesa dentro. Comimos lo mismo y, esta vez, probamos los cócteles. Una vez más, fue una hermosa velada. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar.

Justo como no me gusta hincharme.La comida llegó a tiempo y se colocó frente a mí. Lo consumí con gusto, paseando mucho por los pueblos hoy. Macarrones con queso era como a mí me gusta, con pan rallado crujiente encima y buen sabor a queso. La hamburguesa también era perfecta, no enorme pero perfecta para mí.Terminé con un delicioso pan de plátano tostado con una bola de helado de vainilla y un capuchino.Buen servicio, agradable ambiente relajado con una animada lista de reproducción y deliciosa comida que no puede gustarle. Estoy seguro de que se verá afectado en la temporada alta, pero eso podría estar un poco lejos. Si estás en Bourton en el agua, compruébalo.

Visité con la familia durante un día en los Cotswolds y me detuve aquí para almorzar. Este lugar ciertamente no es barato (11. 95 para la mejor hamburguesa sin lados) pero tengo que decir que la hamburguesa era excepcional y una de las mejores que he probado en mi vida. Todo mi grupo quedó encantado con la calidad de la comida y sin duda volvería si se presentara la oportunidad.

Lo visité por primera vez ayer y ciertamente no será la última. Mi pareja y yo comimos hamburguesas de queso doble de tocino con patatas fritas sucias. ¡Las patatas fritas estaban tan buenas que tuvimos que pedir una segunda porción! ! Las mejores hamburguesas que hemos comido también y no podríamos recomendarlas lo suficiente, ¡no te decepcionará!

Este restaurante es absolutamente épico. La mejor hamburguesa de los Cotswolds sin lugar a dudas. Excelente comida, excelente servicio, excelente ubicación, excelente ambiente. 10/10. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente. Entre dos tuvimos: - la hamburguesa Smiths - carne increíble, de gran calidad, la mejor hamburguesa que he probado en mucho tiempo - la hamburguesa mexicana - la hamburguesa de frijoles era realmente sabrosa, excelentes coberturas, etc. - las alas deshuesadas - sabían muy bien, ni remotamente grasosas, gran salsa - mejor que en cualquier cadena - los jalape o poppers - excelente toma aquí, no es el típico popper, me decepcionó un poco ver que no estaban fritos hasta que los probé, luego me comí el primero - estos son increíbles. ¡Súper picante, súper sabroso, increíble! ¡Quizás no para los débiles de corazón! - las patatas fritas cajún - muy muy buenasCinco platos y cada uno era 10/10. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente. Los chefs aquí están haciendo algo REALMENTE especial. ¡Tenemos los dedos cruzados para que abran uno en casa porque estaría comiendo allí todos los días! Además, los precios eran realmente buenos para lo que era. No se puede superar.

Reservé aquí después de que mi anfitrión de Air BnB me aconsejara reservar restaurantes con anticipación debido a Covid.El restaurante admite perros, lo que instantáneamente lo hace 100 veces mejor para mí y mi pequeño pug.El restaurante tiene un ambiente relajado realmente encantador pero elegante / elegante al mismo tiempo. El personal no podría haber sido mejor. No entendí sus nombres, pero la mujer que sirvió de camarera / recomendó cócteles fue súper encantadora, al igual que el hombre que preparó los cócteles. Ambos realmente con los pies en la tierra, no agresivos ni molestos, solo genuinamente encantadores y recomendaron cosas que pensaron que nos gustaría probar.La comida es excelente. Buena comida con deliciosas opciones vegetarianas.¡Y cócteles deliciosos también! Estoy muy emocionado de tener este fabuloso restaurante local y bar de cócteles que probamos por primera vez recientemente. No podemos esperar para regresar. Las hamburguesas son deliciosas, así como los nachos de entrada. Tomé deliciosos cócteles hechos por Kai (cóctel de ginebra Bramble y un Martini de chocolate), un maestro de cócteles experimentado y un servicio amable y servicial durante toda la noche por parte de todo el equipo. Esta no es la primera vez que pruebo las hamburguesas en Smiths y siempre son muy buenas. Solía vivir en Londres y no había probado nada tan bueno. . . ¡Bien hecho al creador! Incluso mis amigos de Londres lo han intentado y están totalmente de acuerdo conmigo.El famoso cóctel Chocotini estuvo delicioso, definitivamente uno que no debe perderse.Todos en Smiths somos corteses y educados, sin mencionar complacientes.En general, tiene una buena relación calidad-precio. La comida, las bebidas, el servicio y el ambiente son de primera categoría y nos complace recomendarlo a los lugareños y visitantes, ya que no se sentirán decepcionados. Me alegra decir que ahora es uno de mis lugares favoritos locales para comer en Bourton - on - the - Water.

We booked a table for dinner whilst away for the bank holiday weekend not sure what expect but enjoyed a really lovely evening In this quirky Little bistro bar restaurant food was delicious not a huge menu but amazing locally sourced variety of burgers in brioche buns. Staff very friendly and chatty and the cocktails very good gradually worked our way through the listand not over priced on the whole had a lovely meal drinks would definitely go back and recommend

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. I came here with my parents on the strength of the reviews on trip adviser but I was really disappointed and embarrassed as it was just awful. It is basically a hideously overpriced version of McDonalds. Actually that's not true as McDonalds has a much wider selection of food to choose from. They literally have burgers on the menu and that's it. Of course you can't find the menu online so I had no idea that was the case. Our burgers were brought to us all together on a tray when we hadn't even been given plates yet. The waitress later handed the plates to me to hand out to everyone and had her fingers and thumbs ALL over them! Not something I was expecting in the current climate. And we had to hand out the burgers to everyone ourselves (the only thing missing was the paper around the burgers - then we really would have felt like we were in McDonalds!!)You literally just get a burger for your money. Nothing at all on the side unless you pay extra. I don't think I've ever paid £11.50 for just a burger before and that price doesn't even include VAT we discovered once the bill arrived - we also noted that this particular restaurant is not passing on their VAT savings to customers (unless they have cut their prices which seems very unlikely). So just to give you an idea a burger and chips is £18.50 once you add on the VAT and you don't get anything extra on the side (we asked for some tomatoes for my daughter and the waitress brought 1 slice!). While they were nice enough, I'm sorry but they weren't that special and the dirty fries which people seem to be obsessed with are just a very small portion of skinny fries (ie McDonalds fries - probably around the quantity you get in a kids happy meal) with a bit of bacon and various sauces splashed all over it. Not worth £4 plus VAT. Puddings also very expensive at £8.40 including VAT but this seems to be the general way of things in Bourton-on-the-water. We had much nicer meals at The Croft (burgers come with a generous portion of chips here and the menu price includes VAT so not quite so misleading) and Rose Tree Restaurant (for something a little more fancy). Also we had a lovely breakfast in the riverside cafe.

We went there hoping to have lunch today. As soon as we enquired about a table for 2 adults, 1 toddler and an infant the staff at the door hesitated a bit and went inside to check. Before she even could let us know, the gentleman behind the counter just shouted “it’s a 30 minute waiting sir” and I did not see anyone waiting outside. Without realising at that point in time, I requested to use the toilet for my son. He let us use it but not before he had rolled his eyes which I found extremely uncourteous. When we went inside, we saw empty tables which could have been given to us. After we came out I saw the staff letting in a few people and giving them those same empty tables. The staff who met us at the entrance also had a smirk on her face as we were standing outside figuring out what just happened!

This is my first ever positive review but felt Smiths was worthy! The burgers are incredible I had the one with goats cheese and it was epic.... make sure you try a cocktail too! You will not be disappointed!

I’m normally too lazy to leave a review but I felt this place was worthy of a little of my time and effort . We arrived at the beautiful village of Bourton and were a little overwhelmed with how busy it was ! We were hoping to grab some food and given the hoards of people we were worried we wouldn’t have much luck at least not without some long queues. We spotted a sign for burgers through a side alley and came across Smiths. There was a small table for two in the corner outside and we were lucky enough to be seated straight away. I’m a huge fan of burgers and wings and the menu is nice and simple. We ordered a cheese burger each and boneless wings and dirty fries to share. The chef was so happy and pleasant when he delivered our food to the table after a reasonable waiting time. I could really tell he was proud of the food he was making and that he loved his job and that was refreshing. The food was absolutely bang on. It’s amazing how difficult some people find a simple burger and fries but this place didn’t disappoint and the chicken wings were good- we are chicken wing crazy and find it extremely hard to find anything that comes close to the states over here but these were pretty close. The dirty fries were amazing, The crispness of the fries was the best I’ve had and the toppings complimented them perfectly. The burgers were lovely, I do prefer a thin patty which is what Smiths delivers but I would recommend going for the double if you go- simply because they are so nice you’ll want two! We also had two large bottles of San Miguel. It came to £41 which given the quality of the food I felt was reasonable. Overall I’d recommend this place especially if you are a lover of dirty food like us! My only regret I have is not having the nachos ! A table next to us did tho and they looked as good as expected ! The chef even took the time to come back out and see what we thought. I couldn’t fault the service. Thank you for a lovely meal!

On a busy Friday night in Bourton we booked a table at Smiths thanks to the recommendation of our accommodation and were not disappointed. The food was extremely tasty and the staff were so so friendly and helpful. Sadly won’t be back for a while as we are not local to the area but would 100% recommend smiths to anyone. Lovely food, wine & atmosphere. :)

Visited Smiths for a spot of lunch. Staff so happy, helpful and welcoming, gave us the full run down of specials of the day, pastries and recommendations, which were spot on. Don’t leave this place without getting the “dirty fries” - proper wow factor. The chef popped by table for a chat and answer our numerous questions on ingredients. Absolute must if you visit Bourton. Top spot.

We came here for a quick bite to eat on a busy weekend in Bourton. Thankfully you don't have to pre-book, there were tables available both outside and inside. Excellent Covid precautions with hand sanitiser, temperature checks, distanced tables and a one way system.Staff were friendly and very helpful. The scones were delicious and excellent value for money. I recommend visiting here.

We were looking for somewhere to eat at short notice and this was suggested but the Italian over the road. Really friendly staff, and the burgers were amazing. Would recommend the dirty fries- delicious! A hidden gem, definitely worth a visit.

Visited on Sunday 26th July. Nice to sit out side but service was awful. Took 15 minutes for 2 coffees to arrive. Did try and order a ice cream desert but was told didn’t serve food TIL 12. However a number of Asian tourists were eating the same desert and cakes, . Overall not a very pleasant experience. Won’t be going back that’s for sure.

We were looking to have dinner at around 8:45 when most of the other kitchens in the town had started closing, but Smiths had no hesitation in accommodating us. The decor there is down-to-earth yet elegant, the burgers are delicious and the stuffed jalapenos and Pimms cocktails are definitely worth a try. They also went above and beyond to get us the desserts we wanted, which we appreciated! We ended up having a great time chatting with the friendly staff, making for a memorable evening that was certainly one of our highlights of the trip to the Cotswolds.

It seems it is a tea room but after the lockdown, they re-open it as a burger place. They serve very delicious and "honest" burger, tastefull - well cooked french fries with two three different options of toppings and we tried also the homemade slaw as a side. We found it throught Trip Advisor, and we like so much the interior design and the polite staff. We had the oppportunity to talk with the owners and both are lovely. We recommend this place 100%!!!

I went for high tea on my birthday. Absolutely gorgeous food. All homemade. Lovely place and so friendly. Happy to accommodate you and your dogs! Very special and lovely clean warm toilets!! Would recommend and will definitely be back!

We had a great experience at Smith’s. Scones cakes and tea were delicious! All homemade and fresh. We had a nice chat with the owners, as well, who were so friendly and gave us several tips about our visit to the Cotswolds!

Visitamos a Smiths durante el fin de semana cuando visitamos Bourton on the Water después de ver que era el número 1 en Tripadvisor, por lo que tenía grandes expectativas. Éramos un grupo de 11 y cuando entramos nos tomó unos minutos decidir dónde sentarnos a pesar de que había mucho espacio, hasta el punto en que casi sugerí que iríamos a otro lado si les estábamos causando un problema. Ojalá lo hubiéramos hecho. . .Después de estar sentados y decidir qué queríamos de los menús, todos bocadillos y bebidas, nuestras bebidas tardaron un tiempo en llegar y la comida tardó una edad absoluta. Cuando finalmente llegó la comida, solo la mitad de la fiesta consiguió la suya y había terminado mucho antes de que la otra mitad recibiera la suya. La comida era razonable, pero parte estaba fría, por ejemplo, los guisantes blandos en el bocadillo de pescado. Con el tiempo que habíamos esperado, ni siquiera nos molestamos en quejarnos al final. Además, uno de los pedidos de los niños se perdió del pedido a pesar de que el servidor nos devolvió el pedido completo.En general, me temo que no volvería a visitar. Solo puedo imaginar que una fiesta de 11 personas pidiendo comida que necesitaba cocinarse, en lugar de solo pasteles, obtuvo lo mejor de ellos. El servidor se disculpó por los retrasos y la comida perdida, pero no fue una experiencia agradable de amigos salir a un almuerzo sociable y relajado, así que no es realmente aceptable arruinarlo tan mal. El entorno y la decoración es agradable, el personal estaba bien y bajo menos presión, estoy seguro de que sería muy amable, pero el servicio y la comida me decepcionó mucho.

Hoy visité con algunos amigos y comí un delicioso sándwich de salmón sin gluten y un Scone vegano ambos estaban deliciosos, me impresionó mucho lo bien que sabía el bollo, tan ligero realmente agradable. Muy amable personal servicial y buena relación calidad-precio. Estoy deseando volver a visitar pronto
