Food was really good. Location was good. Would have been 5 stars but there was a lot of flies in the restaurant and the tables was really sticky.

Brilliant time here on Friday night! Beautiful outdoor garden to sit in and lots of seating inside. Staff were really helpful and polite. All burgers apart from the chicken and the veggie can be made gluten free. The gluten free bun was really tasty. Chips are cooked in a dedicated fryer with no other food so gluten free and no cross contamination. Brownie is the gf option for dessert. They have gf beer too. Very yummy food would definitely return!

Considering it’s a ‘burger’ place. The burger was over done and very dry. The chicken ‘tenders’ were even more dry. Service was lovely and they gave me the money off the bill for the tenders. The table next to me also said the chicken tenders were dry. We waited around 1hr for food (it was peak time in bourton-on-the-water though).

I have eaten some burgers in my time…but these are without exception the finest I have ever tasted!! The Brisket and Chimmi Tater Tots were to die for too! Service was amazing and atmosphere was great aswell! We will definitely be back! 10/10!!

They accept dogs everywhere but kids only in the dark inside area. Hard for families

Incredibly cozy place! BI sat in the backyard, which was atmospheric and secluded from the other busy streets. Charismatic and pleasant place. I ordered the scotchy which I think is the best burger I have ever tasted! Truly a fantastic experience😃

Superb And Authentic Burger in UK , Must try

After eating at Smith’s three years ago we were looking forward to a lovely meal again. Unfortunately we had to wait 60 minutes for our meals. I ordered a plain burger and thought it would be nice and juicy. However it was overcooked and dry and I had to pick off the worst of the burnt bits. I did consider sending it back but did not want to wait ages while the rest of my party ate there’s. We waited a further 15 minutes for the bill and gave up and went up to the till. We removed the service charge and received an indifferent response to our comments. Definitely gone downhill.

Food at Smiths was good quality but not substantial considering the price tag, the atmosphere and aesthetics of the place was fantastic though, great place to try if you return to Bourton

Really cute restaurant with a very friendly staff and delicious food. Not the place to go if you're looking to cut calories, I'd say, but if you're not, go here to indulge because everything we had was amazing and the cocktails were delicious as well. Our group was very exhausted and still struggling a bit (hungover) from our wedding the night before when we went here for dinner. Well, the cocktails brought us back to life and the food was just what we needed! Corpse Reviver #2 certainly lived up to its name. The Hot Chick sandwich was spicy and crunchy and delicious. Service was a bit slow for sure but it could've been an off night and they also took good care of us. Would recommend!

We loved Smiths - one the best burgers I’ve ever had! I have a dairy allergy and the staff was accommodating and made sure everything I had was dairy free. We loved the location and atmosphere too. Service was excellent - we may have to find time to go back again during our stay in the Cotswolds.

The best burger I've had in a long time. You'd think London would have the best burgers in the country, think again. This place is simply amazing. Can't recommend enough. Been there with the entire family (baby and dog included) and service was impeccable. Will go back as soon as I can.

Excellent burgers. And charming staff. However mistakenly served our burgers. Being first-timers, we really wouldn’t know and realized it only after we tried each other’s. The craft beers were interesting but I don’t fancy canned versions. Lastly, they went ahead with including a service charge in the bill without pre-clearance. I paid with no fuss but thought it was poor form.

Total DELICIOUSNESS. I walked around Burton on the Water for over an hour until something pulled me in, because thine eyes doth not deceive me. Saw a little sign that said BURGERS. I had the House Smith Burger. Get it, is good.

Hot Chick was probably the best burger I've ever had. Service was quick and friendly and it's a nice place to eat, too.

Food was DELISH. Really good burgers, and that’s coming from an American. Very expensive though you get the quality you pay for. The server was so sweet and even let us sample wines before choosing what we wanted! I ate the pimento burger, which was the only non-bacon beef burger option (they could do with more, actually, though I’m sure they’d remove the bacon jf asked. I don’t eat bacon so the pimento was a shoe-in for me), and it was delicious. Also had the truffle fries. Only two gripes - the gluten free bun was awful… crumbly and strange, and not flavorful at all - and the truffle fries, although yummy, weren’t worth the price tag for me. Photos don’t look very appetizing, but I promise, the food is damn good.

Perhaps my favourite burgers. I've been a few times and every time they have been absolutely great. Great atmosphere and service also.

I have eaten many many cheeseburgers in my travels and the pimento burger was the best burger I have ever had. We got a really good spot and the staff were really nice too. It wasn't too busy and the other food we ordered was top quality. I'm glad we came and visited

Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. The best part was the food. The burgers are top notch and full of flavor. Three of us ate there and all walked out commenting how excellent the food was. This place is definatley worth it.

Food took 50 minutes to come out & staff gave no notice that food would take long. When we asked where are food was we were told it’s being plated up to which we waited another 10 minutes. Staff were defensive & arrogant when we said we did not want to wait any longer and proceeded to leave, we’re then told we could take the food out but would not be given any discount (£80 for 4 burgers and fries)! The Owner was there and didn’t apologise and extremely lacked any customer service Skills, he stated “ it’s a bank holiday” ie. Inferring it was our fault for coming on a bank holiday, - hire more staff then 😂 Victim of their own success! No customer service at all so disappointed

Lovely outside garden if you have the weather. Unfortunately we had to wait 60 mins for our food. You can see they only have 2 kitchen staff hence why. The Mac and cheese was great. The chicken burger excellent. Slightly disappointed by the Triple B. Was very dry and disappointing after a long wait. The house lemonade is brilliant.

Really super tasty burgers!! In addition, very courteous and extremely friendly service. We ended up here quite by chance. And we were very happy about it. The atmosphere is rustic and a real Cotswolds highlight! Keep it up!! Dogs are expressly welcome.

We were in the area for the day and my partner said he fancied a burger and we came across Smiths. Well what a find we both had the Triple B burger with Truffle fries and all I can say is WOW the food was superb. The place was lovely and quirky and excellent service. There was only one thing that I could complain about that sadly don't live nearer.

My partner and I were excited to dine at this restaurant after hearing glowing reviews about its fantastic food. We decided to try a variety of dishes, but unfortunately, our experience was a mix of highs and lows. While the pulled pork tots served as a replacement for the unavailable brisket were delightful, the Nashville butter chicken tenders were disappointingly salty, leaving a lingering aftertaste. Similarly, despite the flavorful burgers, such as the Pimento and Blue Cheese Boulevard, I encountered the same issue with my burger being overly salty.On the bright side, the staff were generally accommodating, providing us with a variety of sauces and offering in-house sauces for an additional cost. I was eager to meet the people behind the restaurant and was told that one of the Smith brothers, the owners, was available in the kitchen as the chef. However, when I attempted to address my salty food experience, I was informed that the chef had already left, which was disheartening. While the response from the counter person regarding my complaint felt somewhat indifferent, they did allow me to share my experience on their Google reviews. However, I believe a more empathetic and proactive approach would have been appreciated. Despite the setbacks with the chicken tenders and salty burger, we did find some enjoyment in our dining experience, particularly with the refreshing in-house ginger beer. However, the lingering salty taste in my mouth the next morning was a stark reminder of the less satisfying aspects of our meal. Moving forward, we may consider returning to give the restaurant another chance. However, we hope that they take customer feedback more seriously and designate someone to take ownership of ensuring every diner has a positive and memorable experience.

We were in Bourton today house hunting and we decided to get some dinner with my mum, stepdad, partner and our two young children (1.5yrs and 4 months old) plus two dogs. As soon as we stepped inside, our toddler had an extremely embarrassing meltdown as we’d taken him away from seeing the ducks. I was mortified as we were disturbing other diners- my partner immediately took him outside to calm down while we all settled in and apologised to the other tables. The waitress came straight over to help and was an absolute angel. She could see how stressed and tense I was so she sat me down and insisted on immediately bringing me a drink (a fantastic Cotswolds Gin with the best tonic I’ve ever had) and made us feel straight away at ease. She was so kind and patient with us, and was brilliant with our toddler when he returned back with my partner- she also got him to see another dog in the restaurant which he loved. He then behaved beautifully the whole way through dinner. We were able to have an amazing, relaxed and calm family meal and most importantly didn’t inflict our two gremlins on the other diners. All because we had been helped out and looked after well. The food was incredible- best food I’d had in a while and the burgers were to die for. Thank you for helping a stressed mother be able to enjoy an evening meal out for the first time in a long time. I sadly cannot remember the waitress’s name (she had gorgeous blonde hair) but we left her an extra tip and please do pass on our thanks to her. It meant more than she can imagine, and she is a credit to the business.

Hop on a plane from Logan to Heathrow. Make your way to Bourton on the Water. Go to Smiths and order the Classic. Stay at least 3 nights so you can eat a few more of these perfect burgers. Fly home. Dream of going back.

Really great food and staff, amazing experience!

Delicious burgers, friendly staff, unique and amusing decor. Our waitress was super sweet to our one year old and the burgers came out perfectly cooked, the miso mayo on the classic is amazing.

Add this to your bucket list. You MUST visit here. Amazing food, beautifully flavoured and well presented. The chefs clearly know exactly what they're doing and take pride in their dishes! Each time a new one came out we were excited by it. The drinks were great and its such a nice touch that they create their own iced tea and lemonade. Would highly recommend either (or both). Service was great; attentive but noninvasive. Visible if we needed something and prompt clearing when it was clear we were done. They didn't bug us when we were finished and needing to breathe at the table for a minute either, which we appreciated. Top recommendation: The Tripple B! Packed full of flavour. If I hadn't already eaten my body weight in food, I would have had another! Make sure you get one :-) Summary: it's a MUST visit in Bourton-on-the-Water! Family run, local business, which makes food bursting with flavour and love.

So glad we decided on going here for our dinner! The food hit the spot! We ordered Mac and cheese (pimento) a pimento burger, their yummy salad and the brisket tots! Everything was delicious. I think I said “this is so good” a thousand times! 😅🙈

Yummy burgers, good beers and cocktails

Nice little restaurant with very tasty burgers and tots. The service was very good and the prices were fair. Small annoyance is how a service fee of 10% was automatically added to the bill. I happily paid it, as the service was great, but I don't agree that this should be normalised on a bill. However, overall a very nice experience.

Booked a table for 6, turned up at 4 minutes to 6 and told to wait outside as the restaurant was closed as the staff had not yet cleared up from lunch. 3 minutes later we were shown in - all a bit odd, disconcerting and a little unprofessional to be fair. However, after we were shown to our table everything was really good. Food was great and two 2 ladies running service were lovely and very professional.

Decorations are nice. Mainly is a burger place. Burger is okay. Portion is a bit small. Looks like the place is quite popular on weekends, so staff is a bit robotic.

Great place for good quality burgers. The guys serving were great! They even helped get rid of the bee for us!! :) Constructive feedback: because your place is off the Main Street, you don’t get the same footfall. Moving the signs a bit to make them more visible would help. Also the entrance door is slightly difficult to locate. So maybe moving the furniture around outside would help. Lastly, giving the tourists a WiFi connection would pull in more people too. Great place. Great food. Great people. Thanks!

Amazing food and service. Went there for an early dinner as soon as the kitchen opened. I had the doubled up Smith’s Classic Burger and we got the Nashville Chicken tenders, the Dirty tots and Pimento mac and cheese. Everything was really comforting and delicious and the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend.

We booked online and thank goodness because it was full. It's about hamburgers. They were delicious, price about 14 pounds, they don't include potatoes. The restaurant is decorated very cool. Excellent atention. Super recommended.

Absolutely the best burger I have had in years. The staff are really genuine and attentive the food is top level and the price is also really good, they could charge more in my opinion given the quality of the food. Also cocktails are really creative and tasty. I don’t live locally and we were away for a few days break with the kids. I will return just to eat here again. Great work @smiths_of_bourton 5star.

Stopped by for some quick lunch, but the food was exceptionally good, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Definitely coming back in the summer.

If you’re visiting the Cotswolds I would avoid this place. Visited recently and the food is very overpriced (£17 for a double cheeseburger with no fries) and the portions are very small. Unfortunately the vibe is also pretentious and I found the staff rude, defensive and generally reluctant to accommodate even the simplest of requests. This place is a burger joint, not a fine dining eatery: they would do well to remember that.

The food was ridiculously good. The staff were really friendly. The decor was beaut. The playlist was in a league of its own.

All the food is clearly made from scratch, well seasoned, combination of vegetarians and meat eaters, everyone was very happy with the food which came out piping hot with a friendly smile! Wine was well chilled and exactly what we wanted. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back

My partner and I were very excited to visit Smiths at Bourton-on-the-Water for our wedding anniversary lunch. We made an online reservation for 2pm on a Saturday. Had we known that it would take over 30 minutes to find a parking space, we would have arrived much sooner, but we found ourselves literally running to make our table. When we arrived at the venue, we were told that our table had been given away despite us arriving roughly 10 minutes past 2, and being stuck behind a large party wanting to book before we could speak to anyone. It was explained to us that the restaurant had a 15 minute policy for reservations, however, we did make it in the door before that cutoff time and the aforementioned policy was conveyed with what seemed like annoyance. We do appreciate the staff clearing a high top to get us sat, but we did ask to be moved from a high top table to a normal table if possible. We were told it was possible after another party of two left and we would be moved, but to our surprise, it was not brought up again until we were half finished with our food. By then we were offered the same type of high top table behind us. When we asked, we were told that the normal tables were booked already. It seemed to us that there was not very clear communication either between the staff or to us. We can say that the food was nice, and served cooked to order. We did, however, expect a bit more empathy from the service. A combination of arriving just a bit past time and being serviced in a way that felt like a hindrance rather than a guest at a restaurant we had been looking forward to experiencing left our visit being rather disappointing. Maybe a future visit would be different, but we are very apprehensive after our trip.

Food was nice but waited nearly an hour on a Sunday lunchtime and was told 'we're a small venue and we're very busy and your food is in the second batch.' I'm not sure what this means but I had to ask if the food would be long after 45 minutes as we were worried we would be getting a parking ticket and we were only the third couple in when we ordered. Everyone else was looking around wondering where their food was too. The waitress was slightly defensive. I have worked in hospitality and however you feel you have to remember your customers are paying their hard earned cash for their experience so you have to pre-empt their feelings. If they are not getting a good experience, communicate and apologise up front. You can't pretend its not happening. I would be more likely to come back or recommend your venue but based on my experience today I definitely wouldn't.

We had a lovely time. The Hot Toddy is an absolute must! We had the blue cheese burger, tater tots, buffalo and ranch chicken tenders which I would recommend! The only disappointment was the house salad which for £9 was very disappointing (on taste and portion size). Overall we would come back!

I don't know what they are putting in the water in Bourton, but it is working. This place puts the high end American burger "gastro-pub" to shame. These inventive combinations are next level good. I have 3 favorite burgers in life and 2 of them come from here (the Triple B & Blue Cheese Boulevard). The attention to detail in flavor combinations is exquisite. Truffle fries were also delicious and perfectly crisp. If you are in the Cotswalds, eat here. If you're near England, eat here! Amazing.

Absolutely loved this place! Some of the best burgers we have ever had - I had the Blue Cheese Boulevard and the flavour was just incredible. Cajun fries were also delicious - tried to convince the server to open a location in London! Definitely stop by if you’re in Bourton-on-the-Water!

I really love burgers, and I’ve eaten a lot of really good burgers. But this is the best burger I’ve ever had, and we stumbled upon it by accident today on a day out for my birthday (and by the recommendation of the girl from the sweet shop next door). Superb food and drink. Great setting. Eat here, you won’t regret it.

Booked a table forn 1815 on a Monday night. Got menus after about 5 minutes, and about another 10 minutes for our order to be taken and about another 20 minutes. We ordered the Triple B, Scotchy and a children's Burgers with side of Smiths Dirty Tots and regular fries as sides. The Burgers' where an Epic flavour Great service from both FOH staff, the food was well presented on the plate by the Kitchen staff.

Lovely Interiors and staff. We had the burgers Blue Cheese Boulevard & Hot Chick along with Truffle fries. Highly recommend the Truffle fries with Parmesan on top. The staff were quite accommodating of our baby and gave us the spot near their fireplace since it was a chilly day.

Nice enough little place but quite pricey so not the greatest value but this follows the trend of all the others in the local area. Food was ok, not great, not awful. Wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it but equally wouldn't put people off either.

This was one of the best burgers I had in a very long time. It is fresh, tasty, filling and made to perfection. They cook all burgers to medium well. I tried the classic burgers and it was delicious. The sides menu is also good, I tried the Mac & Cheese and the Coleslaw

This restaurant is amazing. The reason that i give it 5 stars is it is clean and has very good food.The people that worked there are so nice, friendly and fantastic.

Wicked burger! Loads of thought has obviously been put into the burgers, the flavours are spot on. Really gorgeous. The tater tots with chimmichurri and pulled beef are also delicious! Few grumbles - but not enough to drop a star - Only 3 desserts on the menu - one not available and the other 2 had pretty much the same ingredients in different proportions. Tables could be spaced out a bit more, we were v close to a noisy bunch of blokes who were really quite loud and rapidly working their way through the cocktails. Toilets could have done with a bit of attention.

Music can be improved. Can feel slightly awkward when it's a quiet atmosphere on a Saturday evening

Quite posh for a burger place, not sure it suits. I had the triple B burger but I didn’t enjoy the blueberry bbq sauce it was too tangy! My husband loved his classic burger though and the loaded tater tots were yummy.

Firstly, I want to give a massive thank you to the staff at Smiths for being so patient as we both had intolerances that we had to take into consideration when ordering food. I unfortunately didn't get names of the staff but there were two in particular that were very friendly and understanding. The one blonde lady went out of her way to make a list of each item we couldn't have (I couldn't have gluten, there was also a dairy intolerance) to ease the decision of ordering food. I have never experienced such fantastic service in a restaurant!! The food was to die for, so incredibly tasty and fresh! Unfortunately we had eyes bigger than our stomach and didn't eat it all but the food was worth every penny. I highly recommend Smiths for some amazing grub when visiting Boughton On The Water!

Some of the best burgers out there. We’re local and this is our go to local spot for a celebration meal. These days £15 is the norm for a very average pub burger and fries. You’ll pay a bit more here (about £19 for a burger and side of fries) but the quality is absolutely worth it. And you’ll be full. You’ll not go wrong with their classic burger but I had the chicken burger and it was superb. My wife is vegetarian and loved the handmade veggie burger. Friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere too.

We arrived without booking but managed to get a table for two because of a no show. The gentleman who checked us in was absolutely lovely . We were really looked after and the waitress couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome . Food absolutely delicious (and I don't usually eat burgers)

(Saturday Oct 14,2023) Top notch with fully immersive flavor that I have never had within London. We’ve had the chance lately to dine in at this cozy little place as it seems pretty much popular for its delicious burgers. Despite the fact that we’ve been waiting for nearly 40 min to get our orders, at the end it’s worth it. Just for the sake of the business continuity and customer satisfaction, it is unfair to expect me to eat within 10 min while preparing and making the foods take up to 40 min!. In this regards, it is advisable to mange this circumstance wisely, especially during the weekends or special occasions since the majority of people will be visiting the place and enjoying the experience.

Fantastic tasting burger -- is it pricey? Yes, but to the people complaining I would ask where you could find a better tasting burger. Some of us want quality, not quantity

Group of 9 including 4 starving kids (6-14 years) During a recent family trip to Bourton on the Water, having hassles looking for somewhere to accommodate such a large group found Smith's 🍔 purely by chance. Staff were super friendly and efficient, moving tables etc. Food delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Clean plates all round. Seldom leave a review but thought these guys really deserve some positive feedback. Great "family friendly" experience

I'd have to say that the 'Hot chick' burger is the best chicken burger I've ever had! The cajun fries were amazing too! It's £14 for a burger on its own (fries not included) which you might think is quite pricey but it's the quality that you're paying for and you won't be disappointed. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. A good selection of drinks too. I'd highly recommend it if you're a burger lover!

Not only is the service excellent, but the foods at Smiths in this quaint town is also amazing. With its picturesque scenery and charming atmosphere, it's no wonder why people flock to this town for a delightful culinary experience. I can’t wait to come back to Smiths if I have a chance to visit again. Best Experience ever.
