Horrible food, guy on the phone can’t take orders correctly and very expensive - I won’t be back!

Amazing food 😍… and amazing people that work here… kids dad ordered takeaway with cash and got some essentials for me because I’m waiting for surgery and this place went above and beyond for me and delivered it all can’t thank them enough 😊

Very disappointed the kebab I order 2 small asked for lettuce and got old brown leafs and nearly any of it. Sours was bad again nothing in it £27 very expensive. Used to love this shop shame

Smileys are the best around.especially for kebabs … but they’ve changed the sauces and it tastes cheap. Please bring back the old sauces The old ones were creamy and really nice

The only downside to ordering from a decent takeaway is they get real busy and 1 driver ends up taking 4 or 5 deliveries! If your near the last couple you dip out because the food is barely warm

Their fish and chips and pizza are really banging. Very clean and well cooked. Worth a try

My favourite place for a kebab, always has been always will be, I don't live in the area anymore but whenever I'm down there it's my go to takeaway, the doner kebab is the best around, proper fish and chip style chips, all round winner.

10/5 stars. Best burger in a 3 mile radius. Edit 5 years later (3/4/23). Best food that you can get delivered in the whole city. The owner is so nice. Tonight I ordered for collection, little did I know that the sausage was missing from my order, he ran along the street calling after me to ensure I received my order. I've been a customer for many years and have never had a bad experience.

Roast pork was amazing!! We had a good portion of the most succulent pork with homemade apple sauce. The cauliflower cheese as a side dish was also very good. They were super busy, restaurant upstairs was warm and welcoming. Staff were good. Looking forward to going back next time we visit Brighton.

Never been disappointed food always on point and tasty this place been round for a while that just proves it’s good. Kebab Pizza Burgers even cod all of them taste good also Chips is the large chips they serve on Brighton sea front same chips give it a go prices are reasonable thanks guys.

Great kebabs every time. Chips hot. Orders are correct with right sauces & salads etc. Still my go-to, even though I've moved away from Hangleton.

best fish and chips I have had in a long time! went to bankers last week for the first time and I must say I was dissatisfied so smileys will definitely be my new go to now that I’m in hove! lovely staff and lovely prices too!

They are thieves my nephew work for them and not get paid he also say one man who werk there make joke about spitting on doner kebab stay far away

Terrible service, deliver driver had an attitude and the food was cold and dry, would not recommend.

Do not order from here!! Ordered from here for years but last order raw chicken served even in kids meal, phoned to tell them its raw they came and collected the raw chicken but no compensation or apology and no new order delivered!!!!

Really good food(nice fish+chips!), and fast service(hangleton area!).

Portion size has become a problem recently. Small chips as big as a large, and sometimes large chips barely enough. Same with the kebab sizes. With all the price increases on top of this I think smileys should keep it how it used to be.

Food is normally really good but the last 3 times its been bad ordered tonight food was not good next to no chicken in my large kebab soggy bread chips were cold could be the last time I order from hear sad times this place used to be amazing back in the day

Order from here a few times now and have had to phone the shop back up because they have got my order wrong or have left something from my order or when we have had our meal the bread is wet from the salad

I usually like your food but after waiting over an hour it arrived dried up.hard batter.chios were just end no potato. Gave it to the dog.so disappointed as I work hard and only eat one meal a day..

My Kebab was soggy. The Salad was disgusting and the Chilli sauce was so Hot. I would not order again.

This place used to be good. But over the last year they’ve got really stingy with their portion sizes. The meat in their chicken kebabs is sliced so thinly you basically get 4 pieces of paper thin chicken. The smallest amount of salad which is mostly made up of onion and no green chillies. I’ve lived in London and there is Turkish kebab house there that gives you portions bigger than Smileys largest kebab but at £4.50 which is cheaper than smileys small kebab. I had a kebab from Smileys over the weekend and on opening it, it was almost flat. Basically ripping people off with small portion sizes. It’s a shame because the food is genuinely nice but it appears they’ve got greedy!

We had a brilliant meal tonight. This place never disappoints, the food is brilliant. The boss actually came round to sort out a problem we had, turns out it's our mistake 'ooops' Excellent food. Great service. Love it.

Cannot fault the takeaway service. Never wait more than 30 minutes, even in busy times. This is mine and the kids dirty little secret when hubbys working away - shush!

This is the best chip shop ever. Cod: Perfect. Chips: Perfect. (add salt & onion vinegar to reach perfection). Kebab meat: 'Yep you guessed it' - Perfect. This place just keeps us coming back.

Been coming here for years, best fish and chips in Hangleton in my opinion.

Don't bother going anywhere else you will only be disappointed, you have been warned. My wife loved the cod - you make my wife happy, you make me happy. Our meal was lovely - thank you.

I have used smileys for over 20 years now! Never ever had a bad meal from there.... Had pizza for a change here last week... delicious! Had the alligator with tomato on top!!!!!! If you want an extremely nice dinner then smileys is the one 👌👌👌👌

If you want a no frills take a way then this is for you. The food is good, it is freshly cooked and it show when you get it home

i ordered a cheeseburger, large fries and some pepsi max, it took a while because they had alot of orders too, it was worth it, the burger was very filing and the chips were crispy and moist, would order again

i have used smileys numerous times , but after my experience today , will have to seriously think about using again. I have been informed it is under new management , but if this what to expect , then I definitely will not be using again. I ordered my food , asked for a home delivery , was told my food would arrive within 45 minutes of ordering , 1 hour and 10 minutes of phoning , I had to phone again , to enquire about my order , was told the driver had left 20 minutes previous , when I did receive my order it was cold , and I had to put it the microwave . I have never had to this before , with any takeaway ,at any place .

Been going here for over 10 years, however the last couple of months have not been impressed. Smaller portions & quality of food no where near as good.Their garlic mayo used to be the best ever. Had a takeaway the other night and paid extra for more garlic mayo. There was no more mayo than on my partners and could not even taste the garlic !! Sorry Smileys but will now be going elsewhere..

twice i've ordered over the phone and twice my order has been wrong asked for cheesy chips on both occassions as they have them on the menu and both time recieved just chips and last night ordered jacket potato cheese and beans and got just a cheese jacket wont be ordering from them again

Usually absolutely faultless, best kebabs and burgers. Their chicken nuggets are fab but never order a side of beans - the SMALLEST portion in the world arrives and @ £1 a bit of a cheek.

Smiley's es básicamente un "fish and chips" y un "fish and chips" que hace unas pizzas y los pinchos como muchos de ellos lo hacen hoy en día. Como chippys ir, nunca me he encontrado una mejor. Vivimos cerca, y en 20 años nunca hemos encontrado la necesidad de ir a otro lugar. La gran ventaja es que cambiar su aceite regularmente, así que el pescado y las patatas fritas siempre sabor fresco. Los pequeños problemas que sus pizzas no siempre del mismo. Han sido conocidas por ser recocido y poco hecha, aunque bastante agradable para una Naughty delicia. Sus kebabs, si usted preocuparse de contenido materias grasas y colesterol, son en realidad muy agradable. Comida "fish and chips" si es lo que buscas, este precio un sólido 4/5.

This place is flipping incredible. Never had a bad serving of food or service at all. I've never had chip shop chips delivered that tasted good from anywhere other than this place. Good value and they're always nice on the phone. Best fish and chips in Hove by far (although my experience is limited to Wings, Sky High Fish Bar and that new place next to Hove station). Kebabs are always great, I'm told by friends that the burgers are good and I've never tried their pizza.

Ordered to be picked up at a specific time - although they did run a little over it wasn't too much -the food was lovely I had cod and chips and my children had pizza therein a big range of food on offer - the staff very friendly

Went to Smileys. For some fish and chips and pizza for the kids -there is quite a vast range on offer -food was good and the service friendly will go again

My wife and I used to live about 100 yards from Smileys and first ordered about 15 years ago. We quickly became regular customers as the food was always so good and the staff friendly. About 9 years ago we moved from Hangleton over to Shoreham so started ordering take-aways from our new town. Although we had some nice food during our first few months in Shoreham, none of them was ever as good as Smileys, so I had to get back in touch with the best!!For a couple of pounds delivery, they now kindly deliver to us here and have done for the last 7 or 8 years. I have eaten kebabs in a million different places over the years (still only weigh 12.5stone by the way, lol) but none of them has ever been as good as Smileys, I promise you!The Smiley Special Mixed Kebab is unreal and I always halve it and enjoy over back-to-back evenings. As my title says, consistency is what they do best!
