Pizza Extra in Brighton and Hove

Visited here late this evening after a solo Trip to Brighton for work. I stumbled across this pizza place whilst having a stroll around the city. I genuinely had the best pizza I’ve ever eaten here. The older chap making the pizzas was lovely and friendly too! The pizza was fresh, tasty and deliciously tasteful! Highly recommend!

Beautiful 18 inch pizzas, lots of sauce, topics and cheese, thin base and tasty crust. Made with love and a smile. Couldn't ask for more. This is an old school place I ring and collect rather than use rip off Deliveroo

Seems like there are new owners of the business making all the old reviews irrelevant. I'm not from the area but arriving late at night, I was welcomed and taken care of! The pizza was lovely and fresh, can't complain! 🔥

I would only ever suggest ordering then & there! pizza made right in front of you, quick and tasty! They always replace the bbq sauce with normal for us, kind people :)

Had a mix up through Deliveroo, which happens, very unprofessional over the phone, rude, didn't get resolved, ended up with not the pizza I asked for at all and they didn't even care

We ordered a four cheese pizza. This was freshly prepared by hand and included a blue cheese which we’ve rarely seen added before. The pizza was one of the best we’ve ever had.

I went to the restaurant at 2:00 am and I asked the cashier about the peparoni is it halal because alot of restaurant in brighton when they said halal they ment only the chicken and also most of peparoni comes from pork , the cashier gets angry and told as that every thing in here is haram and his eyes was filled with anger even tho we were very polite with him !

Ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza and garlic pizza bread and it was amazing! Definitely can compete with some of the major pizza chains like Dominos or Papa Johns.

Tastiest pizza in Brighton! The new owners are friendly and the pizza is super fresh. Last time I had an amazing pepperoni Pizza and the chef made me a nutella calzone that was superb. Shame they are only open in the evenings though.

XTRA TASTY! Dough is delicious & the veg pizza is just exquisite!

Pre-ordered and paid for pizza from here to collect. Website and Google both said this place was open and our order was accepted but when we arrived it was shut. We have been unable to contact the business to get a refund and when we went back today at 4pm the place was still closed after Google advised it was open. Please can we have a refund of our pizza.

We came to Brighton to spend 2 days me and my friend. We stopped by here to get pizza in the evening and a kind man serve us a delicious pizza. Later on, we stop again late at night to get something small on out way home and a new young guy was today doing the night shift. He treat my friend and me very disrespectful, we didn’t want to self us something small only big mains. At the end we order a big portion of potatoes wedges, and he wanted to charge us more of what was written. As well he asked us £1.5 for sauces, and to a man who order just a second before us for free. We were waiting outside and he harassed us asking for tobacco and unprofessional things. For safety reason DO NOT STOP HERE IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, and especially if you are foreigners. One of the members of the staff would try to take advantage of you. I am sorry for the kind man working during the day, we came bad because he did a great job. The pizzas were amazing, the potatoes wedges totally raw and cold…

Since the new management has taken over the quality and taste is gone so good. Finally the Xtra is the best.

Recently re-ordered and got round pizzas - turns out there were new owners in. Food was really good and delivered fast and still hot, well worth it for a good stuffed crust.

Great stuff as usual, no ice cream but the cake was better! I think the guy who delivered was from the restaurant, he was super friendly do for 2am. Love the pizza always, hot wings were dank, to be honest you guys could give me all the wrong items and the food would still slapppppp. We'll defo be ordering again 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐷🐷🐷

Arrived 35mins late, and only just warm. Driver said nothing, just drove off...

I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED MY FOOD ! The delivery guy called me when he was 15 min from location to ask directions that I gave him. After 5 min he called back saying he didn't find the house and asked me to come collect from where he was (15 min from my house), at 3AM which I refused. so I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED MY FOOD ! He was disrespectful and the restaurant didn't answer the phone.

Pizza had a very good taste and flavour. Basil on top of the pizza was the strong point. I received my pizza warm instead of hot but doesn't matter. I really enjoyed my 15" square pizza.

Have been ordering from this place in and off since around 2005, these guys have always been consistent. Great kebab shop style pizza and I love that it's square so it fills the whole box! Ordered tonight from Uber Eats with several sides and out order was great. Arrived in good time and everything (including the stuffed crusts) was as requested. Perfect, thank you!

Really tasty vegan pizza! Great delivery time considering it was new years eve too!

The food took almost 3 hours to get to me which I can understand as it’s New Years but the customer service was rubbish and the food tasted frozen. I rung up to check how long the pizza was going to be 2 hours after I’d ordered it as I had not heard from them in a while and the person who answered the phone was so rude and dismissive and didn’t give me any details about how long my order was going to take. After half an hour I tried to ring back to cancel it as I wanted to go to sleep but no one picked up when the food finally arrived it was disgusting it tasted stale and as if it had been just reheated from the freezer.

I’m a new customer who suddenly realised at 1am that I hadn’t eaten all day ! The delivery guy was masked and friendly and it was a contactless delivery. The pizza was absolutely yummy and such good value . From now on they will get all my pizza orders and I’ll be telling all my friends about them Thanks guys it really hit the spot !!

Delivery driver went to the wrong place, had me standing outside for half an hour trying to explain my location but he failed to understand the simple things I was saying. Food was cold and not edible, won’t be ordering from here again.

Chips anemic, wrong pizzas and £30 spent on something f I didn’t ask for. Boss was rude on the phone and laughed down the phone when I asked him why he was being rude. Utterly wrong and disrespectful. Never again.

The sides were so oily and no taste of lasagna literally just eggplant and tomato sauce, poor delivery i had to go to him instead of him coming to my door as proper food delivery, i was handed the food literally in my hands, no bags no napkins nth but the oily food boxes dripping. The only thing is good the delivery time which was 6 mins late.

Just Ordered the party meal deal and its arrived. The pizzas were terrible. The cheese tasted like plastic. The chips came in a tin foil container which made them soggy and horrible. The worst £26 I've ever spent. If you know good food this place is not for you. If I could give 1 less star I would. Terrible. I'm not going to bother to call and complain because due to language barrier it took 15mins to place the order via the phone, I've already wasted my time once tonight.

I bought a pizza from here the other night and I paid almost 17 pounds and I got one pizza when I was expecting two and the toppings was coming off and it wasn't cook properly then the guy who bought tryed to say I didn't buy a drink when I did all a bit mad

We sat there and watched the guy in his car just sit there.1.25 hours for a pizza and garlic beard that we couldn’t eat it was so dry!

This company need to employ someone English to answer the phone as I phone to add to my order and got someone talk a lot of nonsense and put the phone down then I phoned back and the next person started. Talking a lot of rubbish about cheese and pizza which made no sense and then put the phone down laughing it is disgusting behaviour from a company so long and short hire English person to answer the phone

Ive been eating them since the 90s never fails , proper 80s style pizza loads of toppings and great square shape looks good in photos and tastes amazing .

2 hours late for a delivery not happy with this service

Ordered no cheese but came with cheese then the man on the phone was extremely difficult when we rang up.

Food was undercooked and the order was wrong

Order pizza and was sent the wrong order, phoned the resturant to replace the pizza and waited nearly an hour and a half to get my pizza without the stuffed crust i ordered. Pizza was alright, would have prefered the one i payed for.

Food ordered at 16:00, 2,5 hrs later cold food was delivered. Wasted money. I do not recommend it to anyone 👎

Almost 2 hours from order to delivery, even though they're 5 minutes away; so cold I had to microwave it; chicken pizza had no chicken on it.

Pizza was fresh and delicious. Perfect fix during night shifts. No complaints about the pizza, dip had popped and gone all over a corner. But not an issue as I enjoyed the dip too.

The delivery driver was very rude and inconsiderate. He left my meal on the porch and was walking away before I could get to it. Understandably the times we are on demand caution, but not a loss of humanity. Most drivers come up the flat and leave the meal by the door or wear gloves and deliver fresh meals. Consider retraining your staff to deliver excellence at all times. Thanks

One negatives that in the current CoViD19 pajdemic,the delivery man wasn't wearing gloves or a mask........confidence for the customer comes with following the correct procedures.

Never had a square pizza , thought it would be fun , nope , wedges had burnt spots and no sour cream sent with, lack of toppings on pizza and paid extra , base was undercooked and really greecy ( from using cheddar cheese) . Cheese and bacon skins were ok better if the cheese and bacon was mixed threw the potatoe instead of all coming off in one bite , wpuld rather have been 15 mins late and perfect instead of leaving 3/4 of the pizza

Did not receive items. Recieved somebody else's order and then was hung up on over the phone after being given somebody else's order. I ordered an entirely vegan order, and received dairy-everything. Refund pls..?

A good size pizza, like the fact it's square. A sauce pot had been put Inside the box and had slid everywhere taking a load of cheese with it, it was also quite greasey. However the price is good, the service is good and delivery quick.

Gave me the wrong order.... I got two times nuggets instead of nuggets and potato wedges. I love the wedges so really sad about this!!!! The pizza was great, so this is sad service from the driver. Not the restaurant's fault. I hope the person who got my wedges enjoyed it

Amazing value, pizzas are way bigger than pizza hut or domino's, they were 20 minutes early, and i love the quare shape of the pizza. I will be ordering from them again.

Haven't ordered from Pizza Xtra for a few years, but the pizza is just as good as I remember it! And waaaay more pizza than Domino's - Domino's 2for1 would have been £20 for 286 square inches, but Pizza Xtra 2for1 was £20 for 450 square inches!! Thanks :-)

Ordered the 'Xtra Deal 1' but only received the small pizza itself and not the potato wedges, garlic bread nor the soft drink that are included in the deal.
