Pizza Express in Brighton and Hove

Had such a nice evening with all my friends for a birthday meal. Lovely Maisey served us and was so friendly, very nice experience x

Went to Pizza Express in Brighton with my friends and Maisey was our waitress – she was honestly amazing! Super friendly, super chill but also really attentive. Maisey helped us pick out a few things on the menu and gave the best recommendations (get the dough balls, they are elite. Trust me). Honestly, she made our whole night so much better! Definitely coming back here, especially if Maisey’s around so nice to have such friendly and chatty waitresses. Makes such a difference.

Ordered online on uber eats, called to enquire about order, my birth name isn’t common in England and I felt the way the person responded on the phone was quite discriminatory and rude, they laughed when I read out my name (for a third time) to them to confirm the order. Please train your staff on anti racist and anti discriminatory practices and also what microaggressions are - I didn’t think in 2024 people would giving such rude responses to someone saying their name. Also apart from being mildly racist, she was not very friendly and quite rude.

it says the driver is close but they aren't and they go the longest way and can never find my door or use the gate to knock the front door I feel since using this app it has got worse

Waste of time food cold and very late

I often go to Pizza Express but last time I went to this restaurant. There was a rude woman. She threw the plate in front of me. (She was overweight and dressed in black.) I will never go to again this place and Pizza Express

Food was great but Just Eat have started sending the drivers to the wrong address after months of getting the order to the right address. No way to contact them. Pathetic

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere and music nice and chilled. Missed the main rush when I can imagine that it’s hectic! Definitely a great spot for a late lunch and a cheeky pudding! Good value

Always the best pizza - never disappoints! This place gets busy, so try to book in advance if possible. Convenient central location. Lovely building. Their bruschetta and doughballs are both to die for. Cocktails are nice and strong. Prices about right. Service always exceptional. I never have room for dessert but I came just for tiramisu once and though not fresh, it's delicious! I know a lot of people hate big chain restaurants but at least they're generally consistent. You know what to expect, and how to expect it. We'll be back soon!

Ordered a pizza with double extra olives. Got 6 extra olives compared to the picture. So apparently extras (charged at £1.50 or more) ammounts to three olives, or equivolent serving. Miserly, tight fisted, and overpriced. Will not buy again.

My son had a pizza making party at the Jubilee restaurant in Brighton. They opened the restaurant early, before the lunch time crowd, so the kids could have fun learning making their own pizzas without disturbing others. It was organised chaos with lots of laughter, fun & flour. The team were amazing and you could tell the host genuinely loved working with kids. Great communication in advance of the party & the team were on it, in terms of catering for dietary requirements and allergies. Would highly recommend it as a party option!

The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived we ordered and ate our main course, the food and service up to then was great then a young male server took over from our original server and we felt really rushed,we ordered our desert and her said would you like the bill with that, then during us eating out dessert he asked us to pay, disgusting, talk about kick you out the door, and when we left there was still plenty of empty tables, won't be returning

Basically one of the shop bought oven bake PE pizzas you can get from Tesco. Base was fried, I think they now oil their pizza pans NOT stone oven baked as in the days of old. 12£ for a margarita, small pizza, like eating air. The sparkles were nice. And the garlic oil for the pizza was not olive oil, or if it was; CHEAP. Classless! Overall, overpriced and unremarkable. However, staff were great, made us feel special on our wedding day 💍

Food is nice but why always cold!

A 10/10 meal! Came in for lunch with the family and our server Sam was amazing! He was so patient and attentive. Sam was very knowledgeable with the menu and provided us with personal menu and dessert recommendations and he made sure we had everything we needed. Jenni (the manager) was also fabulous. She accommodated all of our needs and had great banter. Food arrived very hot and was so tasty and good. Cocktails and drinks were also a 10/10. Would definitely eat here again and return. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Terrible service - the 'manager' was not interested in his customers at all. Such a shame, we love Pizza Express but will be avoiding this branch from now on.

Usually we love pizza express, but had worst experience ever. Starters left at pass for 5 mins and “warm”. Plates then left for 15 mins after finishing to be cleared (they never were). Still waiting for mains - in end just left. No manager in sight, waiting staff hiding behind screens. No excises - this was 5pm and restaurant was quiet. Pizza Express - I would sort this out before you lose more regular customers.

Heads up to the manager Laura, after me and my family witnessed her heroic saviour to the local public. Along with this humane gesture she also served us with quick kind service. The food being exquisite. My family and i had a delightful experience. See you soon Laura. 🔥

The staff at this restaurant, we're exceptional, friendly and professional, advising us on the menu etc. The service was prompt considering they were understaffed, but it wasn't noticeable or late and the food was exceptionable making the evening a complete success.

My sister works here, so I have been a couple times, AMAZING food! On the latest occasion, I had some strawberry lemonade and margherita pizza, which the pizza had delicious dough and strawberry lemonade was the perfect balance of sour and sweet! I must admit though, we had a worker discount 😅 However, that does not mean everything was still incredible. The waitress was very nice, and we got our food decently quick! Definitely come here when you are in Brighton and need something to eat. There are also some lovely decorations and atmospheric wonders.

been there recently! lovely pizza and great service and the decor is modern and fresh. My favourite is the romana polla ad astra and id recommend if you are getting 2 sets of doughballs to switch to the double doughballs which is 2 servings of doughballs (8 is one serving) for less money and with 2 more sauces which i believe are red and green pesto

First of all, the pizza is horrid. How you could call it 'pizza' I don't know. It looked like a frisbee, and it was harder than the plate it was served on. ordered a margherita, and what arrived was...well...not a margherita. Anything but a margherita. Also - who the hell puts chicken on pizza?

I really fancied pizza and thought I would try out Pizza express as it should have been a safe bet. I ordered the new Christmas bundle Romana and opted for the dough ball and the double American. The dough balls were all of different size ranging from what I'd consider normal size and some the size of a marble. In regards to the pizza I was hoping to be able to taste the different ingredient such as the pizza dough, cheese,tomato sauce and the topping however I was just left with the taste of grease. It was so bad I wanted to stop eating it after one bite but forced myself to eat half of it as it was expensive. Will never get pizza express again unfortunately as I'd be better off with a pizza from Tesco.

This was my first visit, despite often being in the area. The food was good, and the service was excellent. I think that I may make a return visit when I'm next in the area.

We like Pizza Express usually ....especially the one in the Marina in Brighton. Yesterday we tried the Jubilee Street one and it was awful ....my American Hot had hardly any topping but Stephen's so called Leggera Festival Wreath for a total of £ 18.45 (extra pepperoni that wasn't visible) was just disgusting. Who adds boiled pototoes to a pizza? There wasn't hardly any pizza ...the hole in the middle was bigger than we have ever seen it, salad was carelessly thrown on top (without any dressing). It was truly inedible. The men's toilets were out of order, I used the disabled one which wasn't particularly clean. We will not be back.

Took an hour for someone to collect our food so it arrived lukewarm at best. Props to the restaurant for answering our call and being really lovely and explaining what’s happening their end.

Ordered a vegan pepperoni on Deliveroo. The pizza arrived with no pepperoni and randomly one half of a cherry tomato and two pieces of pepper??? It’s not rocket science to put the correct toppings on a pizza. Won’t order from here again.

Went for an early lunch before leaving daughter at University. The service was absolutely excellent. Jenny and Laura where friendly helpful and professional. Made the whole experience lovely. Thank you ladies. We will be back!

DO NOT GO HERE!! Please don’t waste your hard earned money in this horrible establishment. The pizza had like 5 lumps of cheese on it and was severely undercooked, the base was literally wet, we had no pizza cutter or anything so I had to use my hands 😂😂 the calzone was full of oil and black around the edges. The women who served us was very passive aggressive and kept offering dessert after we asked for a refund. Terrible table service and everything was so dirty (cups for our drinks and the table itself) this is the furthest thing from Italian food you’ll ever eat please don’t waste your time and money here. The owner clearly doesn’t care about his money, business or customers. Maybe actually do something to change this place because you’re wasting your time with the staff you currently employ.

Great, fast delivery. Pizza was lovely, shame the coke arrived in a bottle with a lid which needed a bottle opener (which I didn't have access to).

Ordered from just eat. 2 pizzas. Only one turned up with the toppings missing. Phoned them. Said it wasn't their problem and to contact just eat. The missing pizza cost £21. We got a £13 credit for just eat. Dreadful!!! Will avoid both in the future!!

It's TOO expenisve! Just don't go there and save 5 pounds. 12.5 pounds for a medium (very small) pepperoni pizza and it wasn't even good. I didn't even find the pizza section on the menu

I ordered a pizza from this place when it arrived through Uber eats it was only warm , also charging over £15 for just a 10 or 11 inch pizza I think is very overpriced, it’s hardly fair Trading is it, show me what it looks like and what I’ve eaten was just a rip-off to its customers, I strongly advise you not to go to this place because it seems to me it’s just about profit to them. Because of all these reasons I rate this place a one to 2 star

Terrible! One pizza was missing and when we called the restaurant they said it wasn't their problem and to contact just eat! Never again!

Wonderful food and drinks, excellent service. We received a very warm welcome and got a table even though we hadn't booked. We'll definitely be going back.

Very rude staff and unprofessional

Waitress Rosa made me feel grand and was patient with me as I was spoiled for choice. The kitchen staff also made amazing pizza for me and my comrade.

Says it was delivered but to who? Not anyone on my street because by the look on the tracker it’s a whole another street. Plus no one is answering the phone. This is stupid

Pizza arrived cold. Tasted like rubber. Halloumi bites are more like bread crumbs ! Calamari was burned . Nothing like the pizza in restaurant .

I had great experience. I was really hungry came straight from swimming and this restaurant was just close to the swimming complex. I ordered salad and veg pizza. Nice place for family’s.

Super thin, super dry, not enough cheese, not even close to warm Pizza! And to add to the challenge you get unsharp cutters while the plate is not big enough. User experience is way below expectations. Nice decor and sunny outdoor seats. Food is not worth it

Just awful, received 2 pizzas with no cheese on them, soggy bread. Called them to complain and they said there’s nothing they can do about it. Disgusting and rude. Paid £40 for soggy cheesless pizza

It's what you expect . No more, no less.

Long wait for service. Dirty wine glass sent back. People in next table sent back theirs as well. No bruschetta starter. I mean the bruschetta is the signature pizza express starter. When main meals came no offer of pepper or Parmesan. Waitress removed plates before we had all finished. Really disappointing.

So pleased with our lunch on Monday for my daughter's 3rd birthday. Damian our waiter was great, the food was delicious and they were great with accommodating our double pram and other requirements. Everyone was friendly (especially the chef chatting kindly to my daughter on his break!) and the standard of cleanliness was high. The kid's menu is really well thought out too. Highly recommended for a family outing.

Came in for a meal with my partner and in-laws but was deeply disappointed by a brand I normally enjoy. The staff all seemed like they’d rather be anywhere else (which is understandable) and the service was slow due to what seemed to be the kitchen putting Deliveroo orders before the tables in the restaurant. We waited ages to be served even our drinks and when the food finally arrived it was lovely, just not as warm as I personally would’ve liked. It’s then took us another 15minutes to flag down our waiter to pay our bill. Not sure I will be returning anytime soon.

I still can't get over the rudeness I experienced at this branch of Pizza Express. I arrived without a booking at around 6pm & hovered at the entrance waiting for service. Nobody was the least bit interested in serving me so I asked loudly if a table for 1 was available. The young bespectacled man glared at me & just said No. There was literally a handful of people seated & when I walked past the restaurant again 30 mins later it was still almost empty. I've never been made to feel so unwanted & unwelcome at a restaurant in my life & would score 0 if I could. I am still baffled by it. I then went to Patty & Bun down the street & was seated & served very quickly & with politeness..which should be the norm. Looking at the reviews it seems poor service is common here. Avoid like the plague.

I have been to a few Pizza Express restaurants over the years and they have been clean and quiet with tasty food - reliable. I have never been to one like this. There was some sort of beat 'music' playing at ear splitting volume and everyone in the restaurant (and it was packed) was shrieking at the top of their voices to be heard over the noise. One of the fridges was broken, so my white wine selection had to be rejected as it was warm. My red wine selection wasn't available. Our server did his best but circumstances were against him and he forgot my second round of drinks. It was sheer mayhem and we fell out the place with our ears ringing and an enormous sense of relief. £50 down the drain.

We visited this restaurant as it was our first night in Brighton and wanted something quick that we both enjoyed. The service was absolutely shocking, it took ages to be served then another 40mins waiting for our pizzas. The waiter even come over after 30mins and delightfully told us that they was now going in the oven. The pizza was nice but not worth the below average service. The side order of chips or whatever they were called are the most disappointing thing I ate in the 5 nights we had in Brighton. After this experience I will never be entering another establishment.

If I have to eat pizza its got be from pizza express BUT, and please take this as constructive feedback , the service at your pizza express jubilee street Brighton its the worse. Staff can't be bother to help , take too long to come and take our orders, we have to get up in order to get eye contact. Really unfriendly and almost give the feeling as they were doing us a favor whilst serving us . I've been there several times and I get the same type of service every time. On the other hand , the food is lovely and your staff at the pizza express in hove are wonderful, always make us feel welcomed. The one star us for the food!

Shocking. We planned our trip to Brighton in February. We arrived at our pre-booked time only to be told that there were no tables available despite my welcoming e mail today. A complete and utter shambles. How can you book a table 3 months ahead only to have it not available. The service was non-existent and pitifully slow. I am done with this brand. It used to be good but now its dreadful and there are better options

Brilliant customer service, friendly/ professional staff and delicious food

A pizza / pasta place that had no mozzarella, no pasta, no prawns, and a whole list of other things. We were two families totalling 7 , loyal customers of pizza express since it’s birth.... this was just not ok. What message does it give to customers. Are you running stocks down to close? The only saving grace was the lovely waitress who had to front this tale of woe. There is a Tesco express across the road, surely that could have solved the pasta problem. You will loose loyal customers if you continue in this way.

We stumbled across this Pizza Express having arrived late on a Friday and we're delighted that they happily accommodated us despite no reservation and looking full. Reassuringly there was plenty of handsanitiser, staff were in facemasks and tables were considerately spread to make us feel comfortable. We were very well looked after by Fabio who gave us great tips on the local area. The fantastic service was matched by the great food which we all enjoyed. Definitely one of the best Pizza Expresses we have been too. Thank you to the team for a great evening!

Great location, outdoor eating, and lovely staff. Can't go wrong.

Staff are always helpful and friendly, and the food is superb! Cooks are always happy to adjust meals for allergies/fussy eaters etc. There always seem to be offers and discounts going on, so remember to check online before you go.

We had a great meal for my sister's hen party here. There were 16 of us in total and we did not have to pre book even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon. We were allowed to decorate our table. The staff were great and very efficient at taking our order. Thank you so much for helping make the hen do one to remember!

Love the pizza here! As it was about 6pm on a Saturday they were getting busy so it did take about 10 minutes for someone to come with a card machine so we could pay. Brilliant service otherwise.

I like coming here for the space and family friendly atmosphere. The food is good, recommend the new carbonara pizza.

Good for adults and children nice food good service

Getting there early for our booking (and making the booking seven times by accident!) was no trouble and food was very good. Special mention to our waitress Aga who was lovely, warm, chatty and friendly (despite being v busy) - in a way that lets you know that she is being genuine and isn’t dishing out platitudes. I hope PE can keep hold of her- she’s going places!

We did like it here. Lovely. Great service and food. Better than the one in the south lanes as it is ar more spacious. Staff were very attentive and food had lovely flavours and was hot an fresh. Lovely italian merlot
