Smashburger Wednesbury in Sandwell

Visited smash burger on Wednesday 19th may with my family. This was the first time we had eaten out since before lock down, as we arrived we was greeted by very friendly staff. Mitchell was the gentleman who looked after us while we was there. I must say he runs a very friendly, clean shop. The food was outstanding, piping hot and very tasty. The service we received was 5 star from start to finish, and I would highly recommend . Thanks Mitch and the team ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Lisa, Gary and family

Meeting a colleague after lockdown, decided Junction 9 would offer somewhere to drink/meet safely outside. No tables/chairs available at the other two eateries so as there were tables free here, decided to give it another try. Having struggled to scan the Q code for the menu to order and inadvertently clicking 3 instead of 1 lattes, thankfully the helpful staff agreed to help with the ordering. Two great coffees and sweet potato fries later, we were in the sunshine, with some warm food/drink catching up on work and life! Had another couple of drinks again served with a smile. Although some others came and left thinking the food a bit pricey for their budget, having asked if we could have drinks/snack rather than full meal, we were really pleasantly surprised at the experience. Thank you.

Was very impressed .service was excellent .greeted by a pleasant young man who gave us menus . The food was delicious I must say a little pricey but you get what you pay for .cant wait to try more from the menu our granddaughter loved it too

We visited the Wednesbury store today with friends to eat outside and have to say the service was excellent, the manners from staffs were second to none and all the staff were so polite nothing was too much trouble service with a smile food was out of this world . I highly recommend this place if you haven’t been.

We have been previously before covid and loved the foodDecided to do a click and collect today, and the food was ready in 15 mins, as they said, and swift and easy collection.The food is top notch, every bit as good as five guys in my opinion. Really love the fried pickles too!Burgers are juicy, so be prepared to use a napkin

The burger it self has no taste.. it tasted like it was cooked in water the only thing I could taste was the sauce, the onion and the burger bun, the smash fries were delicious! But the burger was a no no.. 4/10 for me

Most fast food places only have one vegan item but there was lots of vegan options to choose from here! I had the vegan cheese burger and it was amazing.

Staff were great helpful and informative Covid cautions were taken and standards are well maintained.Ordered a barbecue bacon cheeseburger single for £6.95 with fries and a drink (extra £) fries were very good hot plenty of flavour and the dip was great spicy mayonnaise howeverHowever the burger was just a little unimpressive not very big and not much flavour to the meat quite a bit of grease from the onion rings and these were cold.I can see what they’re trying to achieve but on this visit unfortunately they did not deliver on food quality maybe when busier would be better but unsure.Would I use them again I’ll give him another chance

I visited smash burger for the first time and was greeted by a lovely girl called Emma, I wasn’t familiar with the menu and was explained very nicely about your Burgers and recommended a avocado club. Food was very good services was very exceptional especially by a lovely ladie called Emma will definitely be back.

Two burgers portion of chips and a portion of onion rings and two milk shakes. Just over £33 pound. I think expensive for burgers and chips but it was tasty. Because of the price I won't be going again.

We stopped off on the way up North for a bite to eat. We were welcomed by a lovely young lady ( I’m sure her name was Ellie? dark hair) who couldn’t do enough for us. Such a lovely smile and such a nice manner about her. It’s nice to see a young person enjoying their job and Ellie? Clearly does. The food was lovely but the service made our stop so worthwhile. Highly recommend a visit.

The price is a rip, even with 50% OFF. A small burger with a few chips and drink £13, are you serious? Never going back there again. Well maybe if macdonalds or ikea is closed.

I went the other day with a friend whilst out shopping in the retail park. We are both Muslims so do eat meat but it has to be halal so we went for the vegetarian option instead. We both got the double vegetarian burgers and made a meal out of it by going for the drink and fries for a fiver each, then paid the extra 30 pence each to upgrade to the smash fries. In all it cost us £13 each which isn't cheap. The burgers tasted quite sickening, like some cheap frozen vegetarian burger from a supermarket made out of soy or something which would have been better if that had een replaced with something silimar to the vegetarian patty at Subways. The portion of fries weren't massive and sauces were good except of those disgusting cheap mayonnaise sachets. The service was good, everyone was feidndly but the food both over priced and a let down. I won't ever go back again,rhe menu needs to be drastically changed.

Visited here with my sister and cousin on Friday 4/9/20. Server was very polite and helpful. Gave us our menus as we walked to sit down. Ordered drinks at the till no problem, we waited for a milkshake which came in about 5-10mins, the cappuccino we had to ask where it was. Seemed the table server was not the one that seated us. We ordered 3 burgers and 2 portion of fries. These came within 15-25 mins of ordering. The burger it’s self was ok. The bun and burger was very greasy which put me off my fries which I gave to my sister. I know the burger is supposed to be juicy but it was like a greasy sponge. My cousins burger had pickles on it but we requested no pickles on it. Even though my sister and cousin enjoyed their burgers and the fries. Cutlery was not offered nor did I see any I could get myself. We also had to ask for condiments. Would I visit Smash Burger again? To be honest I don’t think I would. It’s not the cheapest place to eat 3 Burgers, 2 x Portion of fries, 1 x Milkshake, 1 x Cappuccino and a coke £45.00. The burgers aren’t exactly big, the portion of fries are also on the small side. We only popped in here because the cue for Costa coffee was long.

Came with our family to eat out and the staff are some the most polite and friendly people you can meet and the reason is below.we needed our food to be vegetarian and vegan and after making a small mistake by ourselves on our order the assistant came to our table to confirm the order and then amended the order to our needs(good customer care there), other food establishments would not of cared until the order was made, because we went to one just a few doors down (.....Hut) and they dont care how they speak to the customer.so hats off to Smashburger Wednesbury, you are truly amazing people.

As a vegan I struggle to find a good burger as most restaurants serve the same sort of burger patty so I was very impressed when my food came the burger was tasty and the portion size very generous with lots of extras available and different sources this was definitely the best vegan burger I have tried so far !!! And refillable drinks what more can you ask for !

Come to a friends house, ordered through click and collect, ordered £90 worth of food to come back home and have to put fries in the oven?!?!? Called them up for the lady to say she packed it herself I have the receipt in my hand with the order on and it not in the bag. Not only left hungry but to be questioned about the receipt hmmm no thanks first and last time. McDonald’s better choice

Food was lovely as always, Two very rude members off staff. Tried to explain to her that two members of our group had server autism so asked if it was okay if we waiting inside away from everyone she was very rude and shouted across the whole restaurant. Once that happened the young lady who took out order had a face on her due to her team mates attitude so which she never escorted us to our table but escorted everyone else what is just rude your getting paid to do a job so do it. Food was lovely the young man who gave us our food was lovely fast and quick service. Shame about the attitude

Ordered for takeout - the vegan patty had a weird aftertaste. Although I ordered an extra patty, I was relieved they got my order wrong and forgot it! The chicken burger tasted frozen and was nothing special. Wouldn’t visit again and wouldn’t recommend to fellow vegans or vegetarians, as there are much better burger places out there.

Not been to this chain before and being more 'mature' we were a little phased by the lack of cutlery and glasses but only had to ask and they were brought straight away. Both our burgers were very tasty and beautifully cooked. Food on a wire tray seems odd to me but as I said we are more mature. Aircon was too high but the guys turned it down, us mature people don't like eating in a draft . Would definitely recommend and visit again.

We visited on the 5th August and queued for approx 45 mins (we didn’t mind this and accepted it would be a longer wait because of the “Eat out to help out” scheme.However, after the 45 mins wait - and after we had asked for a menu so that we could consider what we wanted before getting into the building - we walked in to be told that there was no vegan and/or vegetarian option, there were no milkshakes, and the only drink available were bottles of the same beer or full fat coke. We had two children and so asked if there was any sugar free options to then be told that there was Diet Coke but not in the main fridge?! The food was poor and despite being out for my sons birthday I ended up only being able to order a bowl of fries (there were no vege options). The staff absolutely had the opportunity to walk along the queue letting people who were waiting know that there was a very limited range of food available- but it seems that the staff nor management used their initiative. We would have absolutely opted to go elsewhere. Disappointing, over priced, grumpy staff - we won’t be returning unfortunately

Visited Smashburger yesterday evening at 6pm and the queue was pretty long but this was all worth it as all our food was fresh and hot as well as delicious! The restaurant was clean and the staff took great measures in keeping reduced contact with all customers as well as clearing & sanitizing the tables. Thank you Samshburger for an amazing meal in these difficult times.Would recommend for friends and family. Very friendly environment!

I ordered food to eat in and also food to take away with me, I let the manager know, the server brought out my food and I noticed my fries were cold, I had gone back to the server and explained my fries are cold, and Wanted to know if they had used the same fries in my takeaway, his reply was well when you get home they will be cold. I explained that I’d meant did they use the same cold fries in my takeaway order. I got my takeaway order off him and proceeded to check my fries as I was doing that he had gone to the manager came back to me and told me they wouldn’t give me fresh fries! He didn’t listen to what I was actually saying. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE (apparently the guy was named H ) Just for the fact he was so rude and vile I would never eat there again,

The sweet potato fries are probably the best thing smash do. The burgers are tasty though the meal is a bit expensive for what you get.

We drove from Derbyshire to this location based on a recommendation. When placing our order we were advised that they had run out of crispy chicken they only had plain because the crispy takes too long to prep, ( this is bizarre considering one of their moto’s is nothing from frozen everything fresh), we ordered an Oreo milkshake but was advised that they didn’t have enough staff to make it plus they take too long to make. We placed our order at 20:13. We sat down and waited, waited and waited some more. We then heard the sound of the milkshake machine whirling around, only to see a walk-in in being made two milkshakes, how could that be when remember they take far too long to make and there isn’t the right amount of available man power. We waited and waited again then at 21.04 we received our long awaited food. Our anticipation then turned to disappointment when upon our first bite into our burgers, our mouths were full of unseasoned, slightly burnt burger patties. The tater tots were covered in cheap tasting barbecue sauce scattered with un melted cheese. The chips were also tasteless with a few undercooked. However it was not all bad, the bottle of Coca Cola was reliably great. Needless to say we left our food and left with a bad taste, still hungry and certain that Smash Burger will not be blessed with our presence again.

This place is a great example why poor, national chain casual dining restaurants are closing down. Not again thank you

Came here for a date and honestly these were the best burgers both of us had ever had in our entire existences. Both the chicken and the beef were extremely high quality and all the salad and topping options were incredibly fresh. So glad we tried Smash Burger, definetly a game changer for our evenings out. Thank you so much to the brilliant staff, also! Would definitely recommend.

I discovered this burger spot a couple of years ago whilst shopping at the retail park nearby, I thought I was just picking up a quick burger.... However, the quality and sheer selection of burgers (chicken, beef + alt) then the selections for the bun, the toppings, the different cheeses, leaves you with literally hundreds of options. Which I absolutely love, if you like having your burger exactly the way you want it then this is the place for you. Really nice and polite staff, I've never had a bad burger or service here. Plus they are able to deal with allergies really well. It's taken me a long time to review and I'm sorry however the only issue I've had recently is the FRIES, WHY OH WHY did they change the fried... They used to be thicker and more delicious Maccies fried... Now they are just sad. Don't get me wrong it will save my waistline but Smashburger you did me wrong! I'm going back today however to have a burger and milkshake... The milkshakes are really fresh and delicious too

So I came to this restaurant in its early infancy and gave it at a very poor 1 star review! It was awful and I did say I’d never come back. However I work in the area and colleges were raving about it and saying it was brilliant so I thought I should give it another go.Second time round much much better, I did walk in at 12:30 in the middle of lunch time to an empty restaurant.Menu seemed way more simple and efficient than I remembered. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger and a very pleasant side of fried pickles. They were really good and a very healthy (in size) portion.Food came quick, drinks fountain was all fully working which is a big tick as you go some places and they don’t have the whole freestyle selection so it was good to see every option working.4* as it’s still a tad overpriced, £13.20 isn’t bad but you can get a burger from burger king on the same retail park and it’s £7-8 and you may not get the service but a similar experience.Much improved, will now come again!

This was our first visit and me and my wife both had the beef triple hot triple double burger with fries and a drink. The food arrived quickly, hot, plentiful and was delicious. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, staff are very friendly and helpful.I've read a few reviews where people complain about the price but you get what you pay for and this place is on a different level to the likes of burger king. We will definately return soon.

I have been to Smash burger a good 5/6 times and always enjoy my food here. I used to love Five Guys but much prefer here now. Same price range as 5 Guys but I personally enjoy these guys food much better, got a good range of burgers to choose from as well as sides. They offer a vegetarian and vegan range also, staff are friendly and the place is clean. Also up the road from me so win win!

Visited smashbuger Wednesbury with my son and ordered a pre- build burger ( son had build your own). It was very nice and fresh and tasted delicious- cold coffee shake to go with it was lovely too.

Great food burgers are really good and the haystack onions are great not your normal soggy onion rings but crispy and great. The staff are great and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere

Burger was good. the reason for only 3 rating is the burgers were cold for me & my friend, the reason for this was when the food is cooked the food is not going out quick enough... also the restaurant itself is a large building that is very cold inside! Also i was standing around for a good time awaiting to be seated... this was my first visit not the best of experiences. one large cold XL burger also almost £10 not including fries or a drink. doesn’t represent the money spent!

Really love this burger joint. The alternative burger with truffle mushroom swiss topping is to die for! I’m not a veggie but choose this every time and just love the texture. Fantastic offers for members too means a cheeky midweek treat meal for two for just £15!! :-D

I was told to expect perfection and the burger was pretty close to that.The blend of flavours was delicious.Service was quick although the offer of sauces etc felt just a little too rushed.The smash fries were too over-seasoned for my taste but I appreciate that’s not the same for everyone.The place was very clean and tidy; perhaps just lacking a bit of atmosphere.But, overall, very nice and I’ll eat here again soon.

I really enjoy the food here. Unfortunately, second terrible experience of service here today. Tried to place my order, and attempted to pay a number of times, only to be told the card machine wasn’t working. I appreciate it’s not the employees fault, but there was no apology, and they had been aware of issues with the card machine earlier in the day. On a previous occasion, waited over an hour for food, with no explanation as to why. When the food did arrive it was cold. Although the waitress did apologise, there was no goodwill gesture offered, which is surprising given the number of customers that has walked out.Disappointed.

We visited Smash Burger Wednesbury for lunch after a morning shopping trip, after reading some positive reviews about it online. Unfortunately we were misled, this place is awful. Our first impression was that the floors and table were incredibly sticky and felt unhygienic. We were also surprised at how expensive the menu was for a restaurant that describes itself as "fast-casual" food, but we assumed this would be reflected in the quality - it really wasn't. When they say "build your own burger" from the menu, they mean this literally - the food arrived on a tiny red plate but completely disassembled, with the sauce in a separate container and the toppings separate to the burger. The food was served by a stressed looking girl struggling to carry the two plates, who told us she was actually supposed to be working in the kitchen but said, in her own words, "wasn't doing very good in there" (!!!). The patties were also paper thin and tasteless (no different honestly to a McDonald's burger, which would have cost 99p rather than £7, and that price doesn't include sides or drinks by the way). Even though my partner had paid more to order the largest patty, which sounded promising described as "8 oz", it was totally flat and no thicker than the small patty I had ordered. We also ordered a side of onion rings, which sadly were greasy and tasted burnt, so we didn't manage to finish them. We also ordered a milkshake, which the staff had forgotten about so we had to go and ask for again and didn't arrive until after we had finished our food. They had made more milkshake than would fit in the glass we ordered, but rather than putting this into another glass they just left the jug from the milk-shake maker with the leftover drink on our table without any explanation. Yes, this was a nice gesture to give us something "extra", but I couldn't help but feel it was a little sloppy.All in all, the food was very underwhelming and I would have been disappointed had we paid even a third of what we did which, at £27 for two small burgers, fries/onion stack and one drink, was a lot. Sadly I can't recommend.

Great tasting burgers accompanied by potato or sweet potato fries and a side of onion rings perfect. Milkshakes made with ice cream haven't tasted better.

i love smash burger in wednesbury but when I took my son yesterday the whole restaurant was freezing cold, and completely spoilt my experience, I wont be going again

I'm not usually keen on burgers, but this veggie option was a nice surprise. Friday lunchtime, wasn't as busy as i expected, relatively clean facilities, usual fast-food style layout and prompt service from friendly staff.

Wow. Excellent service. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. When I tried to tip the waitress and the end of the meal she even refused it and I had to insist. The burgers without doubt were the best I've ever had, agreed with wholeheartedly by the rest of my party. Refillable soft drinks a bonus. Only downside was the price. You could say it was a bit pricey for a burger but the overall experience was excellent and I will be going there again and will encourage others to do so

Heard that Smashburger was supposed to be greay, so went with friends. Over priced burgers and was dripping in grease. Would of rather of gone Mcdonalds

Ordered two burgers and a large fries. Burgers were tasty as were the fries. Although the portion was less then other places such as five guys. Burgers are juicy and not too expensive. However, I still prefer a five guys or original patty man, in Birmingham. Not to say I wouldn’t go again, if I was around. The hand spun milkshakes were definitely a hit unlike the churros, which were nothing special.

First time here, following a recommendation, and indeed the food was very good. A good selection of burgers, and a good selection of vegetarian options too. The young staff seem very indifferent though, and don’t seem as interested in the customers as they are in talking in a group at the servery.

Came here today with 2 colleagues. We didn't plan to come in but saw the place and thought we'd give it a go. Glad we did. The service was good at the till, literally within 5 mins our meals had been brought out to us, no exaggeration! Food was absolutely beautiful! We eat everything. Great price for the value of food too.

Great burger joint. We had the truffle Swiss beef burger, spicy chicken jalapeño Baja and a side of smash fries which was all gorgeous and very filling. I would definitely visit again but it is quite pricey seeing as 2 burgers 2 fries and 2 cokes was £30. so if your looking for a cheap burger bar I’d look else where, if the price doesn’t bother you then here is a must try (plus the milkshakes here are amazing)

The normal menu for meat eaters is great - hits the spot, the kids love it and so do us parents. I am vegetarian and I love that i get a whole alternative menu to myself rather then 1-2 veg options. The burgers are plant based and delicious. Cannot fault it, we like to visit every couple of weeks! The drinks are bottomless and the soft drinks have every flavour option you can think off. The desserts are just right. We really enjoy it, don't lose the alternative menu please, every vegetarians dream!

This is your average fast food burger chain. Nothing special but food is never bad! It seems expensive for the portion sizes compared to other burger chains. Service was very quick and they offer student discount which is always a plus for me! Also the milkshakes are nice but very expensive at over £5 for one!!!
