Miller & Carter Birmingham Hagley Rd in Sandwell

I’ve been there several times, but this time it wasn’t quite as good. The food was as good as always, but the service was a bit chaotic. We didn’t get the wedge with the steak. We had to remind the waitress twice before it was brought. The toilets were a disgrace, so much so that I brought it to the attention of a staff member.

Had a lovely meal last night and our sever ( pink hair ) was lovely .. food was really nice and well presented .. thank yo for a nice Evening

I went for lunch, but having experienced evening meals there before, I'd say the evening meals are much better. The lobster tail was overdone and the steaks were flat eventhough it was medium rare. Maybe they have different food for lunch time compared to the evening.

Molly was our sever and she was absolutely brilliant !! She couldn’t have done more, she made our experience great! The food and drinks were amazing too ! We both had 12oz ribeye and the bone marrow side to share which were both delicious!!

Perfect food. Everything was exactly as expected and for a table of 9 it was quite a feet. The vegetarian option (spinach pie) was also fantastic for a steak resturaunt, couldn't fault anything at all.

What a fantastic night! We made a reservation to celebrate a special occasion which was made extra special by the manager Abigail who decorated our table which was a lovely surprise for my partner. The service was spot on as always (Thanks Donna R). Service with a smile, and made an effort to interact with us throughout the night! We have been to several Miller & Carter restaurants, but Hagley Road is our favourite and the food was perfect, my partner and I couldn't have enjoyed it more if we tried. A true chef, thanks Lee! I cannot thank you all enough.

Donna was our server and she was absolutely fabulous she knew about all the food on the menu and drinks available. The food today was cooked by Lee and it was cooked well and presented lovely.

Just had lunch with my son and husband. I have eaten at Miller and Carter before but not in Birmingham. We chose from the lunch menu because I'd had a good experience in Liverpool. Birmingham experience was completely different. My son had the ribs which he said were non descript. My husband had the steak sandwich which was meant to be a fillet. It wasn't fillet and not a good taste. I went for the rump medium rare which was dry and dense. I had tgevpeppercorn sauce which didn't help improve it. The waitress asked of I wanted something else off the menu. I ordered the fillet steak and was charged extra for it with a few fries and a dried bit of onion loaf and a sliver of tomato with the peppercorn sauce. We all had 2 courses and shared a bottle of red wine. The bill came to £87.25. Not good value for money and I wouldn't recommend it. I did leave a tip as I didn't want to appear rude. My soncand husband had already eaten their meal when mine arrived ao I didn't feel in the mood for mine. So shared it out. I won't go again nor will my son who lives in Birmingham. I'm still hungry

We had a very lovely evening. We were served by Donna R who was absolutely lovely and made sure we had everything we needed! The food was delicious too. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Been here many times with family, friends and partner and loved it every time, food is beautiful, staff are so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is lovely, going back again for the Xmas menu over December as its just wonderful.

I went into Miller and Carter at 18.00 on Tuesday 15th, the blonde lady was very pleasant and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed being extremely attentive! I’m not the easiest customer in the world but I couldn’t fault her service !Couldn’t have asked for better. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou

We were a party of 4 and all had different options from the 2-course meal menu and all were served at the same time - food was well presented, hot and very tasty - thanks to Di who was the Grill chef on the day. Our server, Donna, was friendly and didn’t rush us to make our meal choices and checked back in with us to ensure we were all happy with our meals.

Was not aloud in due to wearing a two piece co’ord bottoms even though I’ve been to others in them and then as we was leaving, seen a guy leaving in shorts and another in black joggy bottoms 😂 I would advise everyone to definitely go to miller and Carter in bromsgrove, staff are a lot better 👍🏻 manager definitely needs the sack acting like the place is prestige and turning down money, obviously a ruff place as bouncer on the door. Makes sense why they are under investigation.

The waitress Niamh was so lovely, she remembered me and my dad from last time and that I had an allergy. Very warm and attentive and nice to have a personal touch lovely girl 👧

Visited for daughters Birthday, opted for the 3 course set menu. 2 out of the 3 meals came out cold, dirty burger and steak. Way too much ice in the drinks so halfway down it's like drinking water. Requested ketchup from waitress, should of just got up and got it myself as it took me to keep staring at her for her to then remember to bring the ketchup, 'slipped her mind' when she finally bought it over. Not good to 'forget' things in this line of work. Arrived at 7pm got starters at 7.45 then an hour later for mains. Shouldn't be waiting this long!! Puddings were 20 minutes later, orange bomb was just a mess with a small spoon of 'mess inside' chocolate brownie is terrible can buy better in a store. Apple pie soggy with cold custard. Disappointed more as this was a Birthday meal and I felt embarrassed that I bought my children here. Won't return and can't wait to see what ridiculous reply Miller and Carter give to this review.

The food was lovely but unfortunately the temperature of the area where we were sitting was freezing. We asked a member of staff to get the fire going, as they were unable to accommodate moving us to a new table. Several other diners requested to move also and were complaining about the temperature. They managed to get the fire going which raised the temperature slightly, but it quickly went out, leaving us dithering whilst trying to enjoy our meal. It was a little disappointing when it was a special meal to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary.

Donna our waitress was exceptional. Nothing was too much for her to do. Pleasant and friendly.

Waited over an hour for food .had to repeatedly ask staff to take our order .when they did they did not have half the food and the food that come was not very good.for the price you pay I expect better service and food ...would not recommend this place to anyone

Hyped. It’s a slightly posher Harvester or Beefeater. Incredibly busy and rushed waiting staff, restaurant full when we arrived, almost empty when we left. We had the three course meal, my ribeye cooked to perfection, cauliflower wings crisp. Thanks to Lee, the named chef on our bill card. Unfortunately a couple of sirloins were gristly. They ran out of several options for all courses, due to a new menu next week, we were told. Chocolate orange bombe fell over and had about half a tsp of mousse in both that we ordered. My sticky toffee could have been from a supermarket for what it tasted. Again, felt like a chain restaurant but more expensive. Cocktails good but mocktail tasted of synthetic sugar syrup. The booths are cramped for 6 adults. After all the hype I’ve heard for years, I sadly won’t return. The restaurant was spotless and a large free car park.

Myself and my mum had another wonderful experience at Miller & Carter today, thanks to the fantastic service from Donna. We visit this restaurant regularly, and Donna never fails to provide exceptional customer care, always greeting with a warm smile. She's truly a sweet person who takes the time to remember her regular customers, making each visit feel special. I'd also like to praise the grilled food, which was absolutely delicious as always. Overall, the experience was excellent ,from the welcoming atmosphere to the great food. Donna and the team continue to make every visit memorable. :-)

Family meal worth the extra indulgence. Host Donna was a joy and professional. Chef Lee must be very skilled. One steak was fatty, but whole meal was replaced without hesitation. Lovely dining experience for my wife our 3 young children and me.

Customer service amazing from Starr to finish. Wait time was a while but I understand this with the quality of the meal.

Been here a few times before and usually top notch, unfortunately not this time. Had trouble with drinks due to gas issues and only a few selected drinks available. Starters was great but my steak was overcooked.

Been here many times but unfortunately this wasn’t the best. Donna was very friendly, happy to help and very polite. Food wasn’t very warm and no one came to check like they normally do. When we were finished and they came to clear plates I mentioned about cold. Donna stated she would feed this back to management. They gave us £20 off bill which was great. Didn’t stop for desserts in the end, just didn’t seem as efficient as normal but I appreciate everywhere can have an “off” day.

We went to Hagley Road Thursday lunchtime, good service from Mandy as usual. She’s always friendly and cheerful. Our meals were cooked well by Lee and his team.

The food was really tasty and perfectly cooked to order, and our server Philip (Fill-ee-p) was really attentive and friendly, definitely made our party feel well looked after.

I'd love to say that I had a great time this evening but I was turned away at the door by security, very politely, because I was wearing jogging bottoms. Sudden introduction of a dress code scuppered my steak. However, we ended up at The New Talbot just down the road and had an amazing curry and saved about £60. I'm 57, fat, polite, almost nice. Judging someone by their pants is archaic and blinkered. Remember those days when everyone had to wear a suit and tie to work because it was professional and then it was discovered that comfort was better? It was like going back in time. I could've played the medical card due to a shin condition meaning that I have to wear loose materials but no. What's next M&C, racial profiling? There are statistics. You could also check if people are on benefits couldn't you. Why not pre-auth me for £200 forfeit if I turn out to be a belligerent git? I'd have happily done that. Instead you lost my very polite and thankful custom. Damned shame as I really fancied a huge steak and lots of beer. Hopefully my lack of custom and tips won't affect your profits too much, no more than having door staff filtering miscreants like my evil self.

The food tasted okay, nothing special - it was cold despite it only being an 8 minute drive away. I was missing the dessert I paid nearly £10 for. Won’t be ordering from here again unfortunately.
