Fantastic food, drinks and service! Nothing was too much for Donna, she was fab

Donna was amazing, she has been my waitress the last 3 times I have came and she always gives exceptional service. Very happy with my experience here and will definitely be coming again.

Came here for lunch and although not immediately busy it soon filled up. Therefore, l would highly recommend booking online to secure a table. It's a straightforward booking system. I had food off the fixed lunch menu, whereas a couple of other members of the table had options from the main menu. Waiting staff were welcoming and helpful. I had the pan fried salmon and vegetables which was delicious. The seasoning was just right. High praise for the chips too from the table. By 1.30 the restaurant was busy so when we ordered our dessert there was quite a wait. I had the mini dessert and drink combo - profiteroles. Now l know it's a mini dessert but 2 profiteroles on a large plate looks a little sad, so perhaps serve them on a smaller plate or add a couple more on there! 😉 . Overall the food was tasty.

Good can be a bit hit and miss- ribs were great, fish was bone dry and sauce was split. Service was a bit slow but waitress was super friendly.

Our waitress Mandy was polite and friendly, readily available with our queries, she knew the menu well and her drink recommendations were fantastic

Came here for our wedding anniversary. Not at all impressed. The chicken was undercooked, the filo pastry pie was bland and both came out luke warm. It was very busy which maybe explained the poor service. Perhaps an establishment that only does steak well. We won't be coming again.

Was really great food, we went on Valentine’s Day which meant it was a little busy so took a while to get seen to by staff, but that’s understandable with the busyness of the day

I recently visited Miller & Carter to celebrate my birthday and had high expectations given the restaurant’s reputation. When booking, I made sure to mention that it was my birthday, hoping for at least a small acknowledgment or surprise to make the occasion special. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Despite noting my birthday in advance, there was no effort made by the staff to recognize it—no small gesture, no dessert, nothing. It was quite disheartening to see a well-known restaurant like Miller & Carter overlook something that many other establishments do so well. The food was great, and the atmosphere was nice, but the lack of attention to detail on special occasions like this made the experience feel less memorable. I had expected a bit more effort, especially from a restaurant of this caliber. 13/03/2025

I recently dined at Miller and Carter, and I can't recommend it enough! The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly filling. What truly made our night special, though, was our server, Donna. She was so welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her friendly demeanor added a lovely touch to our dining experience. Overall, it was a fantastic evening, and I can't wait to go back!

Our server was Mandy, lovely and very efficient service. Had the fixed price menu. Fries weren’t as crispy as they’ve been previously but other than that food was delicious.

Credit card wasn't working. Wasn't informed even though mgr said everyone had been called. Then we ordered food, to be told by waitress sorry non available. Difficult when there are vegetarians eating and limited options (I know steak house) then limited puddings, won't be back in hurry.

First time coming to Miller & Carter SteakHouse on hagley road for food amazing service out of this world. My partner had a Latex allergy Elliott went through menus what my partner could have to eat and Sarah came to see we were alright with food they best for us aswell customer. Manager called Katie very helpful went it came to Dessert. My partner asked for raspberry sober it was Contains soya. So Katie Manager said would you like have some else my said could have The prawn starter again. Katie said she will check with chef in kitchen. When she came back that fine with the prawn started. Really thank Sarah Elliott Katie Di Jerome awesome service. I'll be coming back again Miller &Carter SteakHouse

Over priced low quality cut steak.

Robbed. Paid 20 quid deposit for the booking expecting the Valentine’s Day set menu. Arrive at the restaurant to find out they’re no longer doing the Valentine’s Day set menu. They didn’t not remove the deposit off the bill. After I got home and realised I overpaid. They have not answered their phone for 3 days straight trying numerous times. No one answers the phone. I’ve been robbed by a restaurant of 20 quid and now they won’t answer the phone so I can get my money back. Ridiculous.

The food was great, the service was good. However the atmosphere in the restaurant was bleak and it was really cold. This completely let our experience down. We would have stayed a little longer, but we decided as we were so cold to walk up the road to the pub next door for more drinks and dessert. The Dog pub in comparison was warm, cosy and welcoming.

We where a big Family booking. After a glitch with the pre orders ( computer failure) all our food came out together. Everyone enjoyed their meals, thanks to Lee the grill Chef. And a big thank you to our waitress Louise who looked after us. Thanks for making my mum's evening great.

Firstly the service was not the best which was not the waitresses fault she was just expected to look after to many tables. Secondly the food was lukewarm warm at best and the filet steak was chewy which it should not be. Thirdly the place was dirty the cocktail menu on the table was splattered with food, I was sat facing a fire door which the light above it was thick with cobwebs, the ledge by the side of me was also covered in dust. For the money they charge non of the above are acceptable.

Donna gave us perfect service and was very polite. The food was second to none and we cleared the plates. Thanks Lee 👍🏼🙏🏻 The atmosphere only got 4 stars as it was a tad chilly. 🥶

We were sat where we wanted to be sat however it was cold in the area and I would have thought Miller and Carter would provide heating. I had to wear my jacket half way into my meal and I am not cold natured by nature in fact I prefer the cold but this was more than uncomfortable and even made my food go cold quicker. The restaurant staff were polite and service was spot on. The waitress we had did not take off our $20 deposit and we had to remind her to do this. I believe we should not have to remind the wait staff to take off the deposit on a RESERVED table. However, this did not takeaway from the good food. We ordered the grilled XO shrimp, the wagu rib eye steak and the sharing cookie tart thingy. we also had two drinks, one was a beer on draft and the other was a Long Island tea. The food was delivered in a timely manner and arrives fresh and hot (and delicious). I would suggest you add the grilled XO shrimp to the main menu. I would order this again and again in future visits. The wagu rib eye was really good but I could not tell the difference between wagu and the regular ribeye. It was very good but so is the regular ribeye and just as tender and delicious....so did I get good value for money? I am not so sure and I don't even know if I had the wagu. I would suggest a tag in the meat saying "wagu" or "special cut" etc. The salad that accompanied the dish was skimpy for the high price of the meal however, the chilli dressing with onion was delicious and was a new add on since my previous visit. To be fair it was just enough lettuce wedge. The restrooms were switched around since I last visited and the mens stalls are now on the opposite end and vice versa. This was not good in my opinion as when I visited the restrooms the stall I went in smelled of urine even though it looked clean and tidy. I believe this was because the mens bathrooms always smell like urine and women's always were much cleaner. I would suggest staff regularly pay attention to this especially during a busy evening like Valentines. It should be cleaned and sanitised hourly during peek times to keep any urine smells at bay (or maybe needs some deep cleaning every day and evening). The drinks were really good and the long island tea was nicely presented and tasted really good. I would suggest you make the drink bigger and add more alcohol as I would be would be willing to pay a bit more for this. Please keep in mind that drinks should have bigger ice in them instead of this small crushed stuff. Because the straws make it hard to sip this thru. Just changing the ice will eliminate this problem. The desert was perfect if not a bit rich but can't complain as the rest of my meal was so good I didn't care nor can I complain. The only other negative is that my chair was not clean when I went to sit down as it had bits of food scattered everywhere. I would suggest better cleaning between customers as no one wants food on their butts when they get up and walk to the bathroom or bar. Overall, Miller & Carter is an excellent choice for a steak experience or for a date night. :-)

The 3 course Valentine's meal was amazing my only issue was that the staff didn't offer us more drinks and I had to ask for salt, vinegar and more cutlery rather than the staff asking if we needed anything else also there was some sort of liquid all over the baby changing table so I had to wipe it over before I used it

I'm only giving the 1 star for the atmosphere as it was very cold with in eating our food in the bar area

Soon as we walked in there was a lady on the door slumped up the wall wasn’t sure if she worked there or not until we saw her lanyard. She rudely told my partner “no hat policy can you take it off”. We had just walk in the door it’s -1 degrees outside my partner is bald so wears a beany hat in such weather. We still had our coats on at this point. Obviously he was not going to sit at the table with it on and dont appreciate the tone of the lady. I made an error with the booking and did not book the table. Plenty of availability online but then told by the staff they were fully booked. So walked out!!!

Donna our waitress did absolutely brilliant. 10 of us dining 5 different dietary needs, very complicated but all the food was perfect. Thanks lee for your hard work behind the scenes

We attended on the 18th and had the most amazing experience. My wife and I visit M&C regularly but this was the first time with our daughter and thought we would make use of a voucher we had over Christmas. Amy, our server, was exceptional in taking our orders, offering knowledge and advice on drinks and her overall manner. The 3 course 'rare treat' menu was amazing value and our steaks were cooked to utter perfection (credits to Finney on this). Overall we had a great day and hopefully one of many where our daughter can enjoy too.

Food was very good, but because they were busy and we were seated out of the way I struggled to attract the server's attention. In the end on two occasions I had to walk up to them in the main part of the restaurant and ask them to serve us. At these prices I expect a better level of service than other restaurants. I'm not blaming the serving staff. Whoever is in charge need to employ sufficient staff.

Food was good but took ages to arrive. We were seated beside a very draughty window on a freezing cold day so we were very cold by the time we left. It would obviously have been more pleasant if it had been summer rather than January and sub-zero outside!

We were a party of fifteen out for my wife’s 60th birthday,we were served extremely well by Amy &Sarah,Service and food were exceptional and timed to perfection and hats off to Lee and the kitchen,perfectly cooked steaks finished off perfectly with a superb chocolate cake,well done to everyone 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Visited with family this evening service was horrible booked table for 6.30 was not seated till 7.40 only had main meals as it was 9 o’clock by the time we had finished mains got pudding menus waited a further half hour still no order taken so asked for bill and to speak to manager Was spoken to like dirt by manager who is obviously in the wrong job she raised her voice at me in front of other guests another manager apologised for her behaviour because she had heard the way she spoke to me Food was lovely shame the service and manager let the rest of the visit down I wouldn't visit here again ever manager needs to go back on customer service training or find another job that doesn’t involve the public.

Very limited choice of alcohol free drinks, steak was a little undercooked and no sweet potato fries, seems to have lost its way a little. Restaurant cold, needs to put some heating on!!

It took 2 hours for me to just get my starters And I got at this restaurant at 7 and it’s now 9 and still no main course haven’t even ordered it yet. Had to wait 45 mins for my first set of drinks out. The service is very slow takes ages. The toilets are absolutely grim look like they have never been cleaned and the men and women go through the same door into a toilet. My whole family was fed up bc we have children with us. Would not recommend to people who want a nice quick dinner and not sit around waiting because especially if you have Children you will be there all night.

Elliot and Amy was absolutely amazing kept the drinks flowing, was very professional with checking that we had everything we needed lovely warm welcome form Elliot and couldn’t fault the food from dianne. Amazing all round 10/10

We visited Miller & Carter Hagley Road for my birthday meal and we were very impressed with the food and the service. You do not get quality steaks like this from your run of the mill pub food so it’s really worth treating yourself, we will definitely be visiting again! Our server for the evening was Louise, who we found to be friendly and professional- even bringing me a birthday platter with ice cream, fruit and a candle, which was a lovely end to our meal!

Food was perfect. Fussy order we made was bang on. Great service. Worth every penny. You can choose a quiet area staff are very thoughtfull.
