Ordered cauliflower wings and got chicken ! Incompetent.

1st time at this miller and carter. From entering, I just didn't get the same feeling from the start. I can't put what was wrong it just didn't have the same atmosphere. Nobody seemed to have time for you. The meal was the worst we had from Miller and Carter. I know they were busy with a big party. Was the food rushed out after to catch up with service ? Wouldn't go back to this miller and Carter.

We attended Miller and Carter hagley road for our 10 year anniversary. We were welcomed in very pleasantly. The food was absolutely spot on, perfect portion and great value for money. We didn't feel rushed but at the same time wasn't left waiting. We were looked after we'll by Molly. She was very polite always smiling, made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Absolutely textbook waitress. Also sorted us a complimentary dessert for our occasion. 10/10 experience.

Very nice location, comfy corners to enjoy well-prepared steaks – and generally excellent dishes to pick from. My girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday here, and she was absolutely delighted with Miller & Carter.

Really disappointing experience, service poor , and food not much better... very far from a fine dining .... did complain, and the manager basically said we don't make mistakes !!! Clearly, you do. Also rather presumptuous and outdated view that the male was paying the bill. Overall it was below average and a very disappointing 21st birthday meal.. The doggy bag however was quite full, and my two German shepherds were delighted.

Food was nice but I never liked how they do the onion loaf here it's always squishy. I stopped coming to this specific one because of this but everything else was lovely

We ordered our starters 2 of got ours quite quick but they forgot our friend who had to wait a bit longer! By time it came we had almost finished ours. With the mains my friends ordered chicken and I ordered the chicken burger which looked nice but it was short of the avocado! Which although the burger was nice would have tasted better with it, didn't want to mention it though as may have meant another long wait, overall it was an OK evening, but service could have been quicker and get orders correct.

Miller & Carter usually doesn’t disappoint, and overall this visit was no different. We tried the lunch set menu, and everything apart from the steak was really lovely. The steak itself was a bit of a letdown, but only because of the cut – we went for the rump, which just wasn’t to our taste. Nothing wrong with how it was cooked, just not the best choice for us. That said, if you go for the ribeye or fillet, you won’t be disappointed – they’re always top quality. The price we paid was still worth it, and if you don’t mind rump, you’ll definitely enjoy the set menu. Great value and a solid experience overall.

Me and my family came in to have a small birthday celebration and the majority of our stay was perfect. We had a really nice waiter called Donna and she was so sweet and helpful. The only complaint I have was the fact that those who had a soup starter, it was cold and the wait time for our main courses was quite long (around 40-50 mins). Other than that, the wait was worth it, we all enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere was relaxing. Plus, I definitely recommend the sirloin steak, it was cooked to perfection and I’m definitely coming again.

Opportunistically went on a Wednesday evening after work for a party of 3. Was greeted politely by staff members. Taken to the table. Plenty of time given to browse through menu and attentive staff who were proactive in helping / answering any queries. A special thank you to Louisa, whose professionalism, politeness and attention to detail made the evening an extremely satisfying and pleasurable experience. Louisa’s dedication to ensuring we had a wonderful time was what made our evening. Rarely seen in hospitality today. Recommend food - solid 4/5. Atmosphere - 3.5/5. Value for money - 3.5/5.

The steak is tender, cooked to perfection, with a variety of sauces to choose from, and the overall taste is excellent. I chose new potatoes as a side dish, which had a rich flavor; the lettuce was fresh and crisp, and you could also choose different sauces to pair it with, with great attention to detail. The waitress Molly was very patient and enthusiastic in providing advice and helping with ordering. Her service attitude was friendly and her smile was always there, making me feel at home. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, with a good variety of sauces to choose from—overall, the flavor was excellent. I chose new potatoes as a side, which were rich in taste, and the fresh, crisp lettuce came with a selection of dressings—great attention to detail. Our waitress, Molly, was very patient and helpful in offering suggestions for the order. Her friendly manner and warm smile made the experience truly welcoming.

Fantastic evening, we tried 2 of the new cocktails, the raspberry sidecar and the Hugo spritz, so well made! 😍 thanks to all the team and chef Aaron for making our evening so special!

Meal was absolutely beautiful, cooked perfectly by Farrell and was looked after by Louise who was a delight very attentive and gave is a lovely surprise with desert thank you for a lovely evening last night, ❤️

While the service was good, sadly have to say the Steak was terrible. Had a steak the other day at a Wetherspoons and it was way nicer! £40 for a meal is expensive even with the lunch offer. Feel a bit robbed now as the food wasnt that great.

Delicious food, hadn't been in a while so had forgotten how tasty it was. Great service from Mandy. However, even though ordered rump mediu, it came out well done, but still tender.

It was our ten yr wedding anniversary and it was absolutely lovely, Donna our waitress went above and beyond and the food cooked by Aarron went beyond excellent it was a pleasure to celebrate

First time there, and I had a very bad customer service experience. Got seated and served our drinks. After a long while, finally flagged a staff member asking if we could order our food, then the guy pointed to the guy next to him, saying he would take our order, which that guy nodded and decided to serve another 3 more new coming tables before coming to us. Told him what we wanted, and he then said, "Just order dessert after you've eaten your mains... " So once we've finally got all our food he was right behind me completing the payment of the table, so i asked if he could come over once he has finished thinking to get the manu for dessert from him. He just replied, "I'll get to you when I'm done." he then served another 3 tables before coming over. By then, instead of ordering more dessert, I just wanted to pay and leave the place. When the bill came, it was wrong. He changed what I've ordered for something more expensive. Overall, it was very disappointing and I don't think I'll be going there again.

We were served by Donna R and chef Aron for my wife’s birthday celebration. Donna was pleasant and courteous along with patient as we had 2 small grandchildren with us. She made the experience memorable. Thank you 😊

Table booked for Saturday lunch, it was a really relaxed atmosphere, Amy was a fantastic server, attentive but not overbearing and the food was cooked delightfully by Pharell. (Didn't get a picture of the lunch as we were too quick to dig in) This is not our local but will definitely come here again when we're in the area, thanks so much :)

Had a really nice meal here. Took advantage of the date and steak offer and was really happy with it. Starters, main, and dessert cooked and presented wonderfully. All the staff were friendly and helpful, it's a thoroughly nice place to spend a couple of hours.

We were very well looked after by Mandy on Thursday lunchtime.The fish and chips were very good and perfectly cooked.

We have been going to this miller & carter for years even though we live a cple of miles from a local m&c simply because of the fantastic staff especially DONNA & last night was no different to any other night we have had there - lovely welcome from the young man on front desk who showed us to our table within a cple minutes the brilliant DONNA appeared as always remembers what we drink & even remembers we always have ribeye med rare & blue cheese wedge - she is an amazing waitress & a 100% asset to the company- thank u DONNA for ur usual brilliant service & dry sense of humour thank u for yet another lovely night also thank you to the chef DI our steaks were perfect

Where do I start the service I just had at this restaurant was terrible & very degrading. What was meant to be a relaxing afternoon turned into a shocking experience. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few starters from the waitress DONNA who at first seemed lovely but as time went on seemed she had an issue with me asking simple things like the Mac & cheese was under cooked I asked could it be heated some more then the chicken wings (which I asked to be well done) was very undercooked I asked simply could they be heated some more to her reply ‘oh god again’. The prawns were burnt the chips were undercooked but due to her response we just didn’t say anything and carried on eating. The desert came which was meant to have a hot chocolate fudge sauce it was cold so we just asked again can this be reheated to her tutting at us not acknowledging our request and walking to serve another table. We then asked another staff can it be reheated which it was but was like a lumpy chocolate sauce we then asked CHLOE (who I think was a manager) for assistance as at this point DONNA’s negative & abrupt reaction had us left sat there like what on earth did we do wrong apart from ask our waitress to warm up our sauce. CHLOE unfortunately was not much help either if she is the manager for this establishment then I find it quite sad if this is how they deal with there customers. We spoke in a normal tone but as she walked over to the table she asked us to sshhhh. That alone was shocking. All we did was try to explain the dismissive behaviour we have endured for simple tasks we had asked for met with CHLOE dismissing us some more no apology in site not even anything just that her staff was the best waitress and hasn’t had one complaint before. It’s not that we was trying to complain but we had already had a series of incidents where it seemed DONNA did not care about serving us well. Still in a quiet but shocked tone we was met with CHLOE saying to me & my sister that we was being aggressive (clearly gaslighting her customers) now not at one part of this conversation was anyone aggressive we were customers explaining our issues. & what makes this situation very awkward and sad to me is because I am brown lady I really feel that’s the reason she said me & my sister were aggressive because we honestly was not it was a situation that as a manager she could have diffused it’s shocking with the attitude and again such dismissive behaviour she had towards us. It was so embarrassing she just walked off shouting at us to leave, there was other customers in the restaurant that was looking and laughing. I’ve never been so embarrassed or felt so racially profiled in my whole entire life. I actually use this restaurant frequently but after today I won’t be returning. As a franchise across the UK I can’t believe this is how the staff operate considering this restaurant is based in such a diverse area. Clearly the staff here don’t care about there custom or at least the ones who have an opinion of the food. (Or maybe it’s colour of there customers skin ) .

So we went to Miller and Carter and oh what a disappointment! Ok so to begin with the cocktail I brought did not taste anything like a Pina Colada! Next our food, the ribs were just uncooked and tasteless. All the previous times we've eaten here, the dinners have been perfect but it just takes one experience to put you off wanting to go back. The ribs were uncooked and tasteless, it came with NO BBQ sauce to kick it off! The chicken dinner was even worse, uncooked and tasteless. We both asked for them to be returned to cook a little further more however they returned to us burnt on one side and no changes to the other. We just was not happy with our food, my husband especially being a head chef himself knows what his dealing with. So in the end we got our money back and didn't eat anything but the chips. This was SO VERY disappointing but thanks to the waiter staff that tried to help and accomodate us; either the chef on duty was too lazy to cook or ASLEEP!

Party of 4 ladies on a catch up. Food as been beautiful, really good portion sizes, no complaints. Donna was our server. No hanging about, plates cleared on time, but no pressure. Checked if we wanted drinks. Attention to detail... Spot on. Thankyou

You know what you're getting with M&C. The food is tasty and well prepared with good portion sizes and it's excellent value, particularly the set lunch menu.

Came here for lunch and although not immediately busy it soon filled up. Therefore, l would highly recommend booking online to secure a table. It's a straightforward booking system. I had food off the fixed lunch menu, whereas a couple of other members of the table had options from the main menu. Waiting staff were welcoming and helpful. I had the pan fried salmon and vegetables which was delicious. The seasoning was just right. High praise for the chips too from the table. By 1.30 the restaurant was busy so when we ordered our dessert there was quite a wait. I had the mini dessert and drink combo - profiteroles. Now l know it's a mini dessert but 2 profiteroles on a large plate looks a little sad, so perhaps serve them on a smaller plate or add a couple more on there! 😉 . Overall the food was tasty.

Good can be a bit hit and miss- ribs were great, fish was bone dry and sauce was split. Service was a bit slow but waitress was super friendly.

Our waitress Mandy was polite and friendly, readily available with our queries, she knew the menu well and her drink recommendations were fantastic

Came here for our wedding anniversary. Not at all impressed. The chicken was undercooked, the filo pastry pie was bland and both came out luke warm. It was very busy which maybe explained the poor service. Perhaps an establishment that only does steak well. We won't be coming again.

I recently visited Miller & Carter to celebrate my birthday and had high expectations given the restaurant’s reputation. When booking, I made sure to mention that it was my birthday, hoping for at least a small acknowledgment or surprise to make the occasion special. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Despite noting my birthday in advance, there was no effort made by the staff to recognize it—no small gesture, no dessert, nothing. It was quite disheartening to see a well-known restaurant like Miller & Carter overlook something that many other establishments do so well. The food was great, and the atmosphere was nice, but the lack of attention to detail on special occasions like this made the experience feel less memorable. I had expected a bit more effort, especially from a restaurant of this caliber. 13/03/2025

Scallops and steak to die for. Amazingly popular for families. You get what you pay for 5* mmm!

Our server was Mandy, lovely and very efficient service. Had the fixed price menu. Fries weren’t as crispy as they’ve been previously but other than that food was delicious.
