Fantastic service and food, i had the chicken bbq burger and onion rings on the side🤤...... BUT cards only????? Ridiculous.

Great tasting double cheese and bacon burger and fries. Bacon was even a bit crispy unlike some mainstream places. Initially thought the burgers were a bit small, but they were filling. At £15.95 for a meal you are paying restaurant prices, so not an regular treat, especially if you are buying for the family.

Visited Smash Burger today, infact drove from East Lothian as we all loved the place so much the last time we visited. We were told on arrival we could order at till or use qr code. We went through all the orders only to realise we had an issue with bank verification so decided to head to the till instead. Was two customer in front of us who was clearly having issues ordering/paying. Young man politely asked us if we could us the qr code as the till had packed in. Fair enough back we went and used a different card to pay for the meal. After completing the order I realised my daughters kids eat free meal wasnt actually free. So enquired with the girl who brought us our cups "is the kids free meals not available during the school holidays?" To which she replied yes they are let me go check. She comes back and says kid eat free meals can only be ordered at the till. But we cannot use the till as its broken. We were offered 2 free milkshakes which was a nice gesture I guess but I dont see why I couldnt have been refunded the £6.50??? Also why is it not on the menu that you can only order it at the till? We dont mind paying £6.50 to feed my little girl but some families will be relying on that saving. Wont be rushing back as the food wasnt as nice as it was the last time.

Stopped in at the Dunfermline branch last night on our way home from Edinburgh. We wanted a meal. Our burgers were a hefty £10.95 and a meal would cost an additional £5. We agreed to this but were then told that this price only included for Coke Zero. We had to pay an additional surcharge for anything else! Over £32 later, we sat down to eat our two meals. The burger itself was actually really nice but oh my goodness the Smash Fries were dripping in so much grease we couldn't eat them. Most definitely not worth the astronomical price tag. We won't be back.

Milkshake too expensive for being served in a small plastic cup.

Ordered a classic smash. Burger came out looking fine, inside was raw. Took this up, staff offered to re cook and bring a new one out. Second burger again looked fine but was raw inside just as bad as the first. No apology from staff. Then proceeded to get dirty looks while sitting at the table from the kitchen staff.

Went in, shown to a table, menus handed over and waitress disappeared. No mention of ordering through and having to log in. Looked at the menu and decided that everything was over priced. They clearly couldn’t be bothered looking after us so we decided to leave without ordering. Place was completely empty which also didn’t fill us with confidence

it was busy but tables were still available. It somehow took 40minutes to make 2 burgers. I still do not understand how. They were only turning out burgers every 10mins. No apology just we are busy. It takes minutes to cook a thin burger and with massive hot plates they should be able to turn out 10 burgers every few mins. There was also 7/8 staff so no excuse really. It was so bizzare, every single table was puzzled with the delay

The food was disappointing and massively overpriced. they missed fries from our meal, to be fair they gave us them when we asked. The fries were covered in grease and tasteless. The whole restaurant felt tired and dirty. The bathrooms were dirty, I'm not one to comment on the state of the facilities normally but the floors were sticky, toilets dirty and the taps broken. This was our second visit and we won't be back for a third. £70 for 3 burgers, chips and a milkshake is ludicrous!

A burger place but just so much better than the standard.

Food is just ok. But the prices are absolutely riduculous. 4 burgers with fries and 4 drinks was £70. Absolute robbery!!! Wont be going back as there is a lot of better, cheaper places out there!

Overrated!! Delivery to home. Tasteless and expensive, dog got the burger and the chips were binned. £10.95 for a handful of chips with a tiny bit of topping. Burger was dry, will not order again.

Whilst one of the burgers ordered was fine and came out correctly. The other came out in properly cooked and still raw in the middle. Staff were happy to have this recooked which was appreciated, however the replacement burger that came out was the incorrect order, missing ingredients. For the amount being paid the food is lackluster and entirely inconsistent

Approximately 8/9 members of staff and about 6 customers when we arrived. Ordered food then battled the "machine's" for drinks. Food arrived and the chicken was very well "cooked" surprising as the place was empty. 2nd attempt at drinks, the machine spat it's nozzle out covering me in stickiness- reported same to staff and not a dot was given I had to ask for paper napkins to dry myself, jacket, t-shirt and jeans off. The young girl said, "I'll tell my manager" taking my cup and plastic contents from me ... My first visit with my son and I definitely will not be back. I see a response from the owner. No comment on my "SOAKING" even though I'm now having to have the jacket cleaned and the orange stains have not came out of my white t-shirt. However they appear to have taken my contemptuous remark about the chicken being "cooked" as being a compliment. It was burnt... at first when i saw it I thought it was maybe a "Special" coating for crispieness but alas no just overcooked and burnt. So my night cost me £30 Food £29 Replacement t-shirt ?? Cost for jacket cleaning.

No coffee .order a smash burger.got charged extra for milk shake .charged extra for chips. Cheper to take the meal and buy milk shake after and leave the pop. Ido not drink pop.

I had a takeway and wanted to know the difference between large and small fries. Attendant couldn't tell me despite they came in a box. Do they only have one size and sell at different prices? Also I paid extra for bacon but they left it out. Noticed once I got to the office with my whole substantial order. The fries were just to greasy and not as nice as they used to be earlier this year. For this price I would have expected better and complete!

Seems menu is smaller, salads are significantly smaller, only one option, too much cheese and served in paper takeaway bowl with cardboard cutlery. Freestyle drinks also in paper cups. Disappointing fast food style bug with restaurant prices. Not likely to be back

I have a crazy idea, how about, when I order food from you, it arrives, is not stone cold or has all the items I ordered? Three separate orders, three separate disasters. What is actually going on in your restaurant? Why can you not fulfil an order? Are you charging such a ridiculous amount of money for burgers that you simply don’t care that customers don’t receive something edible? Are you so incapable of preparing a burger that you just don’t bother to send it out? Nothing about these multiple failures makes any sense other than you must hold customers in absolute contempt. I repeat, this is not an isolated incident, 3 separate orders, 3 hungry nights. Why is it that when a customer calls to complain, the best solution you can offer is that they won’t be charged for items they have not received? Seriously? You’re not going to charge me for things I have not received? Incredible, first class customer service. To anyone who reads these things and might be influenced by the experience of others, do yourself a favour and AVOID THIS SHAMBLES AT ALL COSTS.

We had been the week previous and the food was excellent, but was poor this time in comparison. Service was slow and staff didn’t seem to know what they were bringing over. I had almost finished my dinner before my husbands even arrived.

Really gone downhill. Used to love Smasburger, buzzing atmosphere, decent service, delicious food. Tonight the staff were more interested in each other then the few customers they had and the food was cold. For £45 for 2 burgers, chips and drinks it needs to be much better than this. What happened?!

It is incredible that a burger venue cannot get the basics of making and delivering burgers right. Yet another messed up, overpriced order. Tonight’s delight arrived with half of the items missing. To be fair, this is an improvement on previous orders where either nothing has arrived or the items that have arrived are stone cold. In an act of abject corporate kindness, smashburger have allowed me to not pay for the items that I haven’t had. I will of course have to jump through a variety of hoops in order to not pay for these unrecieved items. I am indeed humbled by this show of repentance for yet another ruined £50+ meal. If you enjoy playing roulette with your food, this is the place for you. Maybe it will arrive, maybe it won’t, maybe it will be freezing, maybe it will be inedible. I have rarely encountered a hospitality venue so utterly incapable of delivering anything close to hospitality. If you are considering ordering, just take a pause, bang your head against a wall and go hungry, ultimately it will be a less painful experience than dealing with these incompetents.

The menu has changed for the vegan options. Not sure they are better.

Went here for the first time and although we both really enjoyed the burgers, they were very expensive. The loaded fries were nice but could’ve been better. We asked a member of staff if we could be given a bottle of juice from the back of the fridge as it wasn’t very cold and they looked at us like we were stupid. Won’t rush back and would be more of a treat due to high cost.

First time visiting the Dunfermline branch. Just before going to see a movie at the cinema. Place was clean and tidy as was the toilets, but no toilet roll in the stall. The restaurant wasn't busy and we got seated straight away. The server was polite and very professional. She informed us how to order and that both of the self service machines were broken. We were told only bottles were available. £2.95 for a 500ml bottle of coke zero, which I'd just purchased the exact same from a petrol station an hour prior for £1.50 is unacceptable. No glass was offered, no ice etc. With a machine, I can understand the price, with costs of electricity, glasses, ice, cleaning and maintenance. But for a bottle without any of the extras, charging almost £3 is purely profit driven taken to the next level. Don't be that kind of company Smash Burger. Now your food came and both of us enjoyed our burgers. My wife loved her chicken burger and commented it was way better than KFC. But the downfall was the fries. As delicious as they were, they were cold. I presume from sitting in the basket until the burgers were cooked. Almost £5 for a portion of fries is steep but forgivable if enjoyable, but almost £5 for cold fries is a joke. If the self service juice machine was working, would I moan at paying £3.75 for unlimited drinks?? If the fries came out hot would I moan for paying almost £5 for fries ?? The answer is no. Because everything else was great. But overinflated prices of bottled juice and cold fries let you down. Sadly I'm going to stick to 5 guys. Yes the prices are steep there too, but they care that your food is hot, and that their machines work.

Burgers where great but don't hang about eating. If you stop for a second they're clearing away your stuff My partner was still eating and they asking if they could take anything away . Didn't really gives us time to enjoy our meal.

This was the first time we’ve tried smash burger whilst on holiday in Scotland (Dunfirmline) The burgers were tasty, the chips were really nice but we felt it was extremely expensive, over £50 for 2 burgers with chips and a burger with onion rings…very expensive. The restaurant had a very “cafe” feel to it. Staff were friendly. We wouldn’t visit again.

Great tasting burgers. One of the burgers did come out raw initially, which really put my partner off, but the manager was straight out to apologise, and a replacement was promptly given.

I'd like to say cheeseburgers 🍔 are probably my favourite type of food and I've had a lot of cheeseburgers all over the world ..... 1st time I've been to smash burger and I won't be back ....... Very over priced and very underwhelming....... £10.95 for a bacon cheeseburger Over £5 for a large fries !!!!! £3.50 for a drink .... Spent over £20 for 1 meal and you could get way better for cheaper else where I'd give it a 3.1/10

There's a lot of competition for gourmet burgers these days but Smashburger really is good. A decent selection of burger types, lots of fresh ingredients & generous portions, all reasonably priced for a cuisine which is often overcharged.

Food was food, however I got a refill cup…and the only option was coke. Prior warning would have been good! As I hate coke

The order app crashed twice on me so had to go to the till, not a biggie but annoying nonetheless when hungry. Good food, fresh and tasty and loved the range of drinks, Strawberry Dr Pepper immense !

Entered and had to wait to be seated when the whole place was clearly empty. We could have just been told to sit anywhere. We were sat on a table that wobbled up and down at least two inches with the slightest pressure. The atmosphere was odd with four different staff members seemingly colouring in tables with pencil. A wild waste of time. Treat your employees with some respect. The ordering was relatively smooth and I appreciate being able to customise every aspect of the ingredients. A few issues there though. No ability to just order tap water, which is required by law. Not putting it on the menu is just clearly trying to pressure sell the overpriced and wasteful cans. Likewise the menu was not clear on some aspects. What is an oklahoma style burger? Nothing on the menu at all to explain what that is or why it costs more money. The physical menus themselves are clearly not being cleaned between customers and are in a poor state of repair. Someone in management is cutting costs too much here. Thankfully the food was nice though it most definitely didn't match the images in the menu. Stop taking these overly staged and plumped up photos and actually be proud of the food you're making or stop making it. Everything tasted great and fresh. As for the presentation, I'm an adult. Serve me my food on a plate not in a bloody basket. It's a real shame that management decisions are letting this place down because the staff were excellent.

Came in last Wednesday for lunch with work colleagues, who all got a meal deal. Apart from me, because there are no meal deals for vegetarians!

Food is good but a bit costly, especially considering the fact that it's fast food. Also, chicken patty was slightly undercooked.

Interesting place, tasty burgers (small minus - they don't serve cutlery, only a supply of napkins and the burgers are quite large 🙈) service ok. I recommend it

Hi, tonight I had my first SMASHBURGER in my life and it will certainly not be my last! I ordered (for takeaway) HOT SMOKY SMASH and LOADED FRIES - SPICY BAJA and this is, without a doubt, the best burger I have ever had since the early days of Wimpy (early 80's). The fries alone actually taste like real potato and the burger is clearly made from fresh. I would highly recommend the above order if you are a spicy fan, but there are milder alternatives available. Compliments to Chef, thank-you to Carron and Megan for the service. Neil.

It’s McDonald’s/ Burger King quality food and setting with for the price of an top end burger restaurant. I don’t know why this exists and what niche it is occupying. Its simply not good

Was out shopping with husband when we decided to stop for some lunch. It was empty when we went in anc was shiwn to a seat right away and menu explained to us. The place filled up quite quickly after we arrived. Our order was placed at thd counter and arrived approx 10 mins later i got the crispy chicken smash burger with fries, husband got the oaklahoma burger with fries. Both were really goid and quite big portions aswell. Recommend you try here

Poor quality! the prices are high for the quality of the poor food! £4.75 for a portion of oily fries, the burger £10pound (with just a patty (dry))! we won't be back!

The goof is great I love the Oklahoma meals deals recommend it Thanks you cooks but every time I come in I am shocked by how bad the staff are just standing about yep yapping and only one of them every works that’s the only downside to this place is the lack of staff working but the food is great 5/10

We had a nice burger here, it was tasty and cooked well, although the burger that came to the table wasn't quite identical to its picture on the menu ( it looked a bit smaller, maybe an optical illusion by the photographer). There was plenty of seating available during our visit. We were greeted at the door by a server and taken to a table ( which was a bit wobbly, the Allen screws fixing the table to the wall, require tightening, first booth on the left as you go in ). We were told we could order by the QR code on the table or go up to the counter and order at the till. We used the till. We ordered our burgers, sides, and drinks. There were no lattes on the menu, so we got bottled juice. The portion of chips you get is very generous. Overall, it was a very nice experience a bit more expensive than other similar establishments, but I felt the food was of a better quality. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented, even checking up during the meal to make sure things were OK, a nice touch.

The food is ok but staff not that friendly,I stood at the door for 5 minutes waiting to be seen to,While the staff stood about in a group chatting then we I was eventually seen to the guy that greeted me wasn’t very pleasant,it was like it was an effort for him and sounded like he didn’t want to be there and there was no eye contact.Not great customer service and he didn’t even stand straight while greeting customers, he had one arm across his body holding onto his other arm, the juice machine wasn’t even filled up I had to ask them to fill it up so I could get a drink and the management do seem to care either.Not the first time I have had bad customer care from this boy

Was staying at the Premier Inn so decided to try Smashburger was not disappointed the service was really good and friendly 👌 the food didn't take long my Bacon double cheese Burger and fries was really good 👍 would definitely recommend it 😀

It was very good for fast food but most things on the menu were very similar. I would not recommend unless you are a big fan of fast food burgers. The novelty of the juice machine wore off very quickly.

Got both of our orders wrong and it wasn’t even busy as we went at 8.30pm.

Placed an order at 9:30, they close at 10pm and then after half an hour of waiting I get an email sayiythey cancelled the order just after 10pm. Not so happy. Now everything else is also shut. If you weren't going to fulfill the order, don't accept it!

Came here for the first time today only to receive a hair in my burger. It was stuck between the patties 🤢! I got made a new burger and offered a free milkshake. Needless to say I didn’t finish the new burger as was completely put off and will not be coming back. Very expensive and not worth it at all.

Came for lunch Wednesday afternoon with a friend after not having been in for quite a long time. We spoke with two staff both were really nice and chatty. Food arrived quickly it and it was delicious, I even took some of my smash fries...

Food was rather expensive for what it was. £35 for 2 burgers (one normal and one smaller one), a portion of chips, onion rings and 2 juices. Juice (sprite) was flat, my burger wasn’t even the size of the roll, it had one tiny piece...

Dreadful. My burger was tiny, with hardly any toppings on. £48 for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks. Do yourself a favour, walk over McDonald’s and get a meal from there instead for £30 cheaper

Front of house staff excellent. Food is tasty. I understand they use quality ingredients (they mention this in response to any review which criticises their pricing), but price versus food/portion not good value IMO. Network strength spotty. Have free Wifi, but requires excessive personal info: name, date of birth, mobile number, postcode, email (why?) Always happy to try any place once, but will probably go to nearby McDonald's when next in area.

Comparable with Five Guys. Food was fine but expensive. It's fast food really. Milkshakes were good and they give you the extras from the mixing in the metal mixing container.

Food always good, service good. Cater well for gluten/ dairy free and vegans too. Only negative is the drinks fountain drinks are not all available ( caffeine free coke being my favourite in the evenings) and sometimes too weak. Other than that good selection of food for a burger place .

I ordered the OKLAHOMA MUSHROOM BLUE smash, definitely not seasoned, over cooked, tasted no smoky jam or mayonnaise, hardly any blue cheese, mushrooms where not sautéed. The salad was just lettuce and chopped up pieces of veggies you can’t pickup with a fork.

Over priced and food was cold. A large chip was more like a small portion. Won't be going back!!

First time I've been and the food was very good, I just thought it was very pricey for what you get.

When they get it right and compile your burger with the perfect stack, get your fried pickles crispy on point, then this is top tier burger and fries etc. The classic cobb salad I'd really nice as well when made right. Should 100% be wrapping the takeaway/ collection burgers to ensure stability, but other than that, all good.
