Smashburger in Fife

It used to be good, but now they are not able to deliver the food you order right. I ordered the Cobb salad and a burger with UberEats and the fried egg was missing from the salad, I submitted a complaint and got no response. This evening my partner ordered the same with Just Eat, asked for no bacon in the salad, as I cannot eat it, and an extra crispy chicken patty. The salad was full of bacon and no crispy chicken was delivered. Is it that difficult to make a salad right??

So slow. 30 minutes wait at 4:30pm for 2 burgers is mental

We drove about 1hr to get to smash burger tonight, to be turned away at the self order screens because they were too busy. Which is fair enough but no signs on the main doors on arrival, no cover on order screens. The girl was polite but just an overly disappointing experience to drive so far and arrive hungry to be turned away.

Just a disaster from the get go. Walked in and a lot of the tables were dirty. Should’ve been our first clue to be fair but we wanted to try the place. Got my friends order wrong 3 times. When she finally received her food on the 4th attempt, it was still wrong!! The young lady who served us was lovely. We asked for a refund and she said she would get the manager. When the manager appeared we had to explain the issues for a second time as the information hadn’t been passed over to her. She refused to refund us, claiming she couldn’t do this, offering instead a free meal on our next visit. We won’t be back. Shocking service. Avoid.

A great pre-cinema dinner. Topped tater-tots were tasty and the staff were friendly. Lots of cleaning going on, which is nice to see. The restaurant was clean and there’s lots of space to sit.

The food was nice but over priced for a fast food chain. Experienced won't be would rather burger king. Staff sitting around doing nothing took two to bring out food which wasn't a big order. Drinks were bottles of warm coke even though it stated on order it was the machine but the staff helped themselves to the machine coke. Pretty bad experience although food was good but not hot just warm.

Smash burgers were nice/ fresh ingredients, really nice sauce, but the beef patties.. far too much salt! i can genuinely still feel salt an hour later, Loaded fries- supposed to be blue cheese.. hardly any there, and overloaded with Frank's hot sauce , taking away any enjoyment, fries swimming in sauce

Cold food and clearly had been cooked ages before, waiting for someone to order. Way too expensive for what it is.

Took almost 3 hours and was stone cold when it got to me but the driver didn’t even take ten minutes to deliver it which means it was made and left lying for ages instead of at least timing the food with the delivery so I wasn’t getting cold food if that had been the case I wouldn’t have even complained

My partner really enjoyed her vegan burger, superb barbeque cheese tots and very tasty milkshakes.

the food is going down hill here. the fries I received were chewy, I'm thinking they were probably cooked then put back in to heat up! horrendous and could not be eaten. A burger had tomato when I requested none and it was luke warm. not sure what is going on with the sauces I ordered with the fries, tasted off so couldn't eat them either. I always order from here, but I won't be going forward. always a hit or miss now!

Usually I love this place, food is always amazing. Usually we only take away but decided to sit in for a change and I will tell you I will not be doing it again. Both mine and my partners orders were wrong. When we informed the staff of them being incorrect, we were very rudely told that it was our fault and not theirs. Our fries were cold staff were also informed of this. (We sadly did not think to grab the names of the staff) the young lady who took our fries away was lovely throughout our whole experience very kind and apologetic.(unlike her rude coworkers) the other two were visibly annoyed and did not hide it by repeatedly giving me and my partner nasty looks and glaring at us while we ate. Rude comments and physical gestures made by an employee to other staff members were made repeatedly by the same girl (bigger, glasses, red hair, and claw clip) she was then repeatedly sitting on her mobile phone throughout our stay. Personally I don’t think this is a good look for the company or any company for that matter. Apart from the two rude staff members when our order was brought out to us corrected it was amazing. Definitely recommend this place for their food but do suggest staff are reminded that they represent the company and their actions reflect badly on all of the staff as an overall look which is not fair on some of the lovely and hardworking staff who actually like the public and their job.

irst time I’ve ordered from Smash Burger. Unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The food was late and arrived cold. Based on the cost of this order I cannot say this was good value for money and could not recommend this restaurant.

Over priced burger and fries. Tastes good but way too expensive for what it is.

Great burgers, was cooked quick and well worth the money for a proper smash burger only issue we saw really was not too many customers inside

First visit to the restaurant, greeted and welcomed by nice young members of staff, shown how to self order direct from screen which was good, food came in good time, all 3 of our burgers were super tasty and loaded fries was a great sized portion, would definitely go back, wish we had one in Falkirk 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Waiting over an hour for our food to arrive cold.

We’re traveling from the US and all of the Smashburgers near us have closed down so we were excited to get to stop here to eat. Unfortunately, they were closed for repairs but the franchise owner was super friendly and offered to make us shakes on the house which were delicious. Very friendly people, stop in here if you get the chance!

Used to be a favourite but is going downhill. Quality of beefis getting worse and deliveries taking longer and food arriving cold. For the cost, it's totally unacceptable.

Stop attacking small business owners, awful practices.

A half rate establishment staffed by teenagers who can barely spell customer service, let alone deliver it. Reasonable food but expensive.

We were the only people in. Food came quickly. The sides were both nice, but considering its a burger place, that was the disappointing part. Burger was dry and crunchy. Supposed to have truffle mayo and couldn't taste it at all. The blue cheese burger was like a sauce rather than any blue cheese, which would have been nicer. We won't be rushing back such a shame as it sounded so promising.

Expensive and disappointing. Everything was cold when we got it, and there were only two other tables. The single smash burger gets lost in the bun, not even sure why they sell single burger buns as the patys themselves are really thin, as expected from a 'smashburger'. Workers all stood about doing nothing. Had to ask for our cups for refill machine. Guy in the kitchen had a good pick of his nose, and went right back to handling whatever food he was making. Five Guys is opening beside it soon, I'm sure that will signal the end for this mediocre establishment.

Just been here to see what it's like - and I was hungry! Pleasantly surprised. I had a burger meal with free drink refills. The burger (a double classic smash) was very very good. I didn't know about the onion ring on the burger in the bun, but it worked. Very tasty. I had smashfries and they were also very tasty, maybe a bit dripping with oil, but the taste was very good and I'd have them again next time. My meal was brought to my table and I didn't have to wait long. I will be back to try another burger soon.

worst delivery ever. I only got half the order I payed for.

Ordered via just eat and literally if I wanted a stone cold sloppy burger I'd go check McDonald's. Zero satisfaction taste was just vile this is based on delivery not inside the restaurant. For the price of the burger I'd expect more from quality from the restaurant.

The chips were just plain fries and some were off tasting 😬 4th time when ordering smash fries I just get normal fries🤷‍♂️

Considering the price you pay I would expect the burger and chips to have some heat in them but mines was stone cold this time

Got a BBQ bacon burger and a chocolate milkshake to take away, which came to an eye watering £17 odd! The burger was dry and tough, and there was hardly any BBQ sauce on it. The bun was a standard brioche bun. I would have expected something better for the price. The milkshake was nice but definitely not worth £5.95. in summary, I could have gone to McDonalds and spent about 30% of the price.

How does a burger and chips take 50 mins? Are they hunting the bloody cow out the back? Had 6 staff members just stood around staring at the burgers rather than serving them. Children in Western Sahara have received burgers faster from the Dunfermline McDonald’s. We genuinely missed planet of the apes because of this incompetence. But I’ll tell you what the sauce is pretty decent, not worth 50 mins tho.

Missing part of the order. My son told the Just Eat delivery driver (who we gave an online tip - never again) that his milkshake was missing. He shrugged his shoulders and said that they never gave it to him and to call the restaurant. Which I did, the guy who answered the phone told me he was looking at my milk shake on the counter 😳 but because they didn’t have their own drivers, unless I could collect I had to apply for a refund. Rubbish service yet again the consumer loses.

Always a consistently good burger here! The service is great too. Nothing to complain about 😊

Food was cold and late i am NOT impressed

Absolutely disgusting and shocking customer service. Came all the from Edinburgh to try these. Order a portion of the loaded fries and let me tell you I honestly wouldn’t feed them to my dog. Cold fries topped with cold unmelted cheese, mushy vegetables topped with some cold unappetising sauce. Pico de Galla more like Pico de rank. They were so bad I picked the chips out the sauce and wiped them clean before eating them. Complained about the food to the staff who replied “okay” what happened to customer service, I was stunned at the lack of professionalism. Would not recommend to everyone has to leave because I couldn’t sit in front of those fries for another minute. Save your money and go elsewhere. Lots of better places next door for half the price. Thanks for ruining my day smash burger!

Great tasting double cheese and bacon burger and fries. Bacon was even a bit crispy unlike some mainstream places. Initially thought the burgers were a bit small, but they were filling. At £15.95 for a meal you are paying restaurant prices, so not an regular treat, especially if you are buying for the family.

Visited Smash Burger today, infact drove from East Lothian as we all loved the place so much the last time we visited. We were told on arrival we could order at till or use qr code. We went through all the orders only to realise we had an issue with bank verification so decided to head to the till instead. Was two customer in front of us who was clearly having issues ordering/paying. Young man politely asked us if we could us the qr code as the till had packed in. Fair enough back we went and used a different card to pay for the meal. After completing the order I realised my daughters kids eat free meal wasnt actually free. So enquired with the girl who brought us our cups "is the kids free meals not available during the school holidays?" To which she replied yes they are let me go check. She comes back and says kid eat free meals can only be ordered at the till. But we cannot use the till as its broken. We were offered 2 free milkshakes which was a nice gesture I guess but I dont see why I couldnt have been refunded the £6.50??? Also why is it not on the menu that you can only order it at the till? We dont mind paying £6.50 to feed my little girl but some families will be relying on that saving. Wont be rushing back as the food wasnt as nice as it was the last time.

Stopped in at the Dunfermline branch last night on our way home from Edinburgh. We wanted a meal. Our burgers were a hefty £10.95 and a meal would cost an additional £5. We agreed to this but were then told that this price only included for Coke Zero. We had to pay an additional surcharge for anything else! Over £32 later, we sat down to eat our two meals. The burger itself was actually really nice but oh my goodness the Smash Fries were dripping in so much grease we couldn't eat them. Most definitely not worth the astronomical price tag. We won't be back.

Milkshake too expensive for being served in a small plastic cup.

Ordered a classic smash. Burger came out looking fine, inside was raw. Took this up, staff offered to re cook and bring a new one out. Second burger again looked fine but was raw inside just as bad as the first. No apology from staff. Then proceeded to get dirty looks while sitting at the table from the kitchen staff.

Food time continually going up, no contact to say why. Contacted the restaurant to ask how much longer and was told they were short staffed and busy. I can understand this but the food was cold when it arrived and had obviously been sitting for a long time for a driver to take.

The food was delivered within the window given but it was stone cold when it arrived. Almost £40 for cold burger and chips is an absolute disgrace. Really disappointed. Normally its really good.

Went in, shown to a table, menus handed over and waitress disappeared. No mention of ordering through and having to log in. Looked at the menu and decided that everything was over priced. They clearly couldn’t be bothered looking after us so we decided to leave without ordering. Place was completely empty which also didn’t fill us with confidence

I would love to share a photo of what we received compared to what we ordered. Initially we were handed the wrong order 10 minutes late and when we got home the ‘bbq veggie burger’ was nothing as described. The food was stone cold on collection. After paying more than £30 I would expect better service and quality. Very disappointed.

My order took an hour and a half to arrive and the burger was stone cold.

Awful. I had to walk across my neighbourhood in my pajamas to find the confused driver wandering around in the cold with my food. This was a full 40 minutes after he had left the restaurant. The cold food that arrived was absolutely terrible. I paid £10 for a small dry burger with half the toppings missing that was more akin to something you would buy from a van. If I had been sitting in I would have asked for my money back. Shocking

The food was disappointing and massively overpriced. they missed fries from our meal, to be fair they gave us them when we asked. The fries were covered in grease and tasteless. The whole restaurant felt tired and dirty. The bathrooms were dirty, I'm not one to comment on the state of the facilities normally but the floors were sticky, toilets dirty and the taps broken. This was our second visit and we won't be back for a third. £70 for 3 burgers, chips and a milkshake is ludicrous!

it was busy but tables were still available. It somehow took 40minutes to make 2 burgers. I still do not understand how. They were only turning out burgers every 10mins. No apology just we are busy. It takes minutes to cook a thin burger and with massive hot plates they should be able to turn out 10 burgers every few mins. There was also 7/8 staff so no excuse really. It was so bizzare, every single table was puzzled with the delay

The food was not of the expected standard, have used smashburger previously without a problem however this time the burgers seem to have been sitting for a while as were chewy and not fresh. Was also not cheese one burger.

The food was stone cold. The patties on the burger were very dry. Whoever made the burger didn’t even realise that there was an extra bun on the bottom of the burger. The cheese hadn’t even started to melt on the chips even tho they were in a sealed container. I tried to call the restaurant as the time kept getting pushing back on the just eat app the phone just rang out and went dead. what originally started upto 45mins delivery ended up being about an hour and 20mins for a burger and chips

A burger place but just so much better than the standard.

Food is just ok. But the prices are absolutely riduculous. 4 burgers with fries and 4 drinks was £70. Absolute robbery!!! Wont be going back as there is a lot of better, cheaper places out there!

The burger was cold. I ordered extra bacon but only got 1 very dry old looking bit of bacon on it. . 1 tiny bit of tomato. The beef burgers were good though😊a bit disappointing . It could have been better!!!

Overrated!! Delivery to home. Tasteless and expensive, dog got the burger and the chips were binned. £10.95 for a handful of chips with a tiny bit of topping. Burger was dry, will not order again.

Food was 50 mins late and freezing cold on delivery

Whilst one of the burgers ordered was fine and came out correctly. The other came out in properly cooked and still raw in the middle. Staff were happy to have this recooked which was appreciated, however the replacement burger that came out was the incorrect order, missing ingredients. For the amount being paid the food is lackluster and entirely inconsistent

Food arrived an hour late and was cold

Approximately 8/9 members of staff and about 6 customers when we arrived. Ordered food then battled the "machine's" for drinks. Food arrived and the chicken was very well "cooked" surprising as the place was empty. 2nd attempt at drinks, the machine spat it's nozzle out covering me in stickiness- reported same to staff and not a dot was given I had to ask for paper napkins to dry myself, jacket, t-shirt and jeans off. The young girl said, "I'll tell my manager" taking my cup and plastic contents from me ... My first visit with my son and I definitely will not be back. I see a response from the owner. No comment on my "SOAKING" even though I'm now having to have the jacket cleaned and the orange stains have not came out of my white t-shirt. However they appear to have taken my contemptuous remark about the chicken being "cooked" as being a compliment. It was burnt... at first when i saw it I thought it was maybe a "Special" coating for crispieness but alas no just overcooked and burnt. So my night cost me £30 Food £29 Replacement t-shirt ?? Cost for jacket cleaning.

No coffee .order a smash burger.got charged extra for milk shake .charged extra for chips. Cheper to take the meal and buy milk shake after and leave the pop. Ido not drink pop.

Holy smokes, best burger I've ever had, simply WOW

I had a takeway and wanted to know the difference between large and small fries. Attendant couldn't tell me despite they came in a box. Do they only have one size and sell at different prices? Also I paid extra for bacon but they left it out. Noticed once I got to the office with my whole substantial order. The fries were just to greasy and not as nice as they used to be earlier this year. For this price I would have expected better and complete!

Missing milkshake, freezing cold burger and the smash fries had a very weird taste (they used to be the best!). Not good anymore unfortunately, and for the prices they charge.. crazy

Would recommend the oklahomla smash!
