Burgers ans hot dogs, I'd have had anything off the menu. Service was superb, friendly and great with kids. Definitely recommend

Ordered a pint, and chicken & waffles. Pint of pilsner was excellent. But the chicken & waffles however fall short in all aspects. The chicken strips were hard and dry, with a strange spice. The waffle was grainy and crumbled. I ended up eating the fries and drank the pilsner. I told the server my disappointment and that I hadn't eaten either of them, to which her response was "that's £19.XX." Yup, best part of a 20 for chips and a beer. 😞 The situation should have warranted a refund or reduction, but nothing of the sort. ☹️ Be wary entering this place.

Pre booked a table for 6pm thinking plenty time to have something to eat and make the theatre show next door at 7.30pm you would think so eh ? Well it wasn’t after enquiring twice if we were going to get fed our food finally arrived on the table at 7.15pm I would describe it but to be honest I about swallowed it whole so couldn’t have been that bad if only we’d had the time to chew it. I appreciate staff can be off and restaurants can be busy however the very least you could have done is inform us of this on arrival and that it may take some time to get a burger and chips then we could have decided whether to wait or to go elsewhere, I do not blame the staff for this I’m sure they are in a difficult position the management however need to look at this if they wish to keep their customers even slightly satisfied.

Had a fantastic meal here, everything was delicious and served quickly. Grant was attentive and polite and Anna is a fantastic chef.

Had a meal before going to a gig and can't fault the staff. One woman on her own and she did amazing! Food was fantastic! Cocktails were perfect! Definitely be back!

Service was great, quick to order and food was excellent, always checking in. Atmosphere was quiet. Only negative feed back really for me was the music station.

We are still here at the moment, about to go see Ghost the musical. What we have experienced is just horrendous customer experience. We have been refused entry because it was booked but the seats were half empty. The Barman actually apologised to us and told us it’s just been a stressful day. The barmaid was really rude to my partner. We actually got seated and it took around 30 minutes for our drinks, which were wrong when they arrived. I appreciate that on show nights things can be stressful and I’m conscious of that as I write this but you should still treat every customer with dignity and respect. There is no need to be abrupt and rude. Hopefully as I say it’s just due to how busy tonight was but unfortunately we witnessed this experience for others too.

Pre theater dinner and drinks started the night of brilliantly. Grant took great care of us and made out first visit really enjoyable.

Having booked a table, we were seated quickly servers and manager were very pleasant and friendly despite having just dealt with a very rude party. Food was amazing would recommend the chicken platter, cooked perfectly, the hilarious cocktail names made us laugh and they lived up to the names. Visit you won't be disappointed, book a table and enjoy, we will definitely be back

The service was a little slow but there were only 3 ladies serving/cooking. They were all working very hard to help the whole restaurant. The food was amazing! The vegan range blew my mind! I'll definitely be back. The Canadian burger 🍔 was THE BEST THING I've eaten! The cocktail menu looked lovely and the prices were good, but sadly this time around I was driving....... I'll definitely be back to try more of the vegan options. Thanks to the 3 staff who were very kind and hard working.

Overall I'm pretty disappointed with MJs. I read the reviews before going and had good expectations, but the food was really disappointing. My burger was very dry, to the point I had to add a silly amount of ketchup just to be able to eat it, and the overall taste just wasn't what you'd expect for the price. The ingredients and the bun seemed like they'd been sat out for days and we're definitely not fresh. The fact you also have to pay for chips as an extra is just taking the piss - potatoes don't cost a lot of money guys! My partner had a vegetarian burger and said that the burger was cold, and that the 'patty' was the only part that was somewhat warm. Having spent near enough £40, I'm really underwhelmed and quite disappointed by is experience, and I won't be going back. I reckon there are much nicer/more affordable places nearby that offer decent food with chips that are included in the cost! Might just have been an off day but I really felt the need to write a review so people are at least aware that it may not be all that is cracked up to be.

It's been a while, booking a table can be a struggle since it's busy sometimes.. food is fantastic, I'd recommend getting the nachos (huge portion)

Visited tonight for the first time in a good while to find new management. I went with my husband and daughter for food and drinks. We were greeted with a smile by the lovely Gaelyn who was great with our 4 year old through out the whole service and was very attentive. Nothing was too much effort. Avril the manager was cooking - the food was delicious, she come out from the kitchen to introduce herself and make sure everything was ok for us - another lovely woman. We will definitely be back! Amazing food with quick & great service!

I decided to go to Monterey Jacks for an early dinner with my wife and 2 kids on Sunday 7th July at 3pm. On arrival we were advised by the Blonde waitress, who didn’t look impressed that we had children with us, that there were only 2 tables we could sit at with a buggy. She then left us to decide where to sit and watched as we move chairs around to fit the buggy in. We surely can’t be the first family to arrive with a buggy? Some assistance would have been nice rather than making us feel like a burden. When the waitress returned with the menus, which included a paper children’s menu with various drawing games on it, my wife asked for some crayons. The waitress then walked off without saying anything and returned with a tin of pencils and said “make sure the pencils stay in there so that they don’t end up on the floor”. You are giving colouring pencils to a 2 year old, there is every chance that 1 of 2 of them may end up on the floor, but of course we would have picked them up. We thought this was an odd thing to say to two adults. The waitress then asked if we wanted any drinks, and we said water, she stropped off again without saying anything. As this point, we’d had enough of her attitude and decided to go elsewhere. We clearly weren’t welcome and I wasn’t prepared to put up with her rudeness for the next hour. I can’t understand why people like that work in the service industry. If you don’t like serving families, you should probably work somewhere else. We’ve eaten here before and enjoyed the food but the management really need to have a word with the staff about their attitude towards customers. I few pleasantries wouldn’t go a miss. I doubt we’ll be back.

Fantastic little place with some great cocktails and food. The staff were excellent, especially Gaelyn and Sam who served us.

Chose pick up rather than delivery so can't comment on service and atmosphere though there were only the 2 staff in the restaurant when I arrived. Picked up at arranged time and by the time I had driven the 5 mins to home, found the burgers etc were fine but the chips were all cold and had to resort to heating in the microwave 😢.

As good as any burger you would get in the USA,literally stumbled on the place and ordered lunch for 3.All excellent and friendly staff too.

Expensive for what you get. The slushy cocktails are far too sour, we didn't finish them. They have American themed hotdogs, but there are no options for grilled peppers or onions, which are a staple for hotdogs in America. On the other hand the portions are good, and the pulled pork was done well. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We’ve been before and had no issue but this time it was dire! Staff clearly unhappy and 2 out of 3 very unapproachable. Waited 25 minutes before our order was taken. Food practically thrown at us when it did come. No pleasantries at all. The place wasn’t very busy, even if full It’s certainly manageable for 3 staff but not these ones! To top off our experience after we had eaten our very average burgers (served on side plates) no salad no accompaniment at all as pp has said. We witnessed a staff member clean the floor with blue roll and then use the same blue roll on the table. Grim! They may have returned and cleaned the table but we didn’t wait around to find out. 3/4 of us (one only had fries) spent the following day unwell. Definitely avoid, lots of better value happier places to visit in Dunfermline.

Waited nearly 45 minutes for our order. What was delivered to our table was barely warm - certainly not hot. We had to ask for the French fries we ordered but wasn’t put through to the kitchen. Thought we were charged a hell of a lot for what we got! They were short staffed and the lass serving the tables was rushed off her feet! I certainly won’t be going there again!

On 10th Feb we booked Montery Jacks, Dunfermline for a table on Sun 11th Feb at 5.30pm. We arrived at 5.25pm and went straight to the bar area. A lady was inputting an order into the till and told us she would be with us in 2 secs. We waited about 3mins! Once shown to our table we were advised by the waitress that she was on her own and that she had to do everything. She also stated that she had asked for extra staff but couldn't get anyone! Really?? Customers need to know this?? No. We waited 50mins before getting our drinks order taken and then we decided to give her our food order too due to the wait. Customers came in, sat and waited but after a long time without any interaction, waiting to be served, then left. Lots of money lost!! We eventually got our food which was ok but we definitely won't be back. Considering you are a restaurant/bar right next door to a Theatre, your business must be or should be thriving but unfortunately you've got it all wrong. Customer service is disgusting, food is ok but the location of your restaurant is bang on!! Get a grip or someone will steal your business. Ps... the girl serving.... who was also taking drink orders, making cocktails, dealing with Just Eat, taking food orders, helping in the kitchen with the one & only cook, taking payments, cleaning up tables, dealing with food being rejected by customers.etc...... I've never experienced anything like it in my life! We won't be back and definitely don't recommend this restaurant. Even though we're 4mile away, won't be here again!

Been here in the past and was great. Since the menu change the food is no where near the same quality. Microwaved and re heat burgers in oven, chips tasted oven cooked and cheap. Was not worth the £75 we paid and will not be back

In for after show dinner, took over an hour to take our order, diners that came in same time as us had eaten and left and still our order had not been taken, we had to ask, our kids were fed up waiting as were we, food was okay once it arrived almost 2 hours after arriving, money taken off bill, but unfortunately first visit, last visit!

It has a really nice choice of burgers and the loaded fries are excellent!

Well what can I say, ordered Chilli Nachos for pick up, went to collect 5 minutes after slotted time as app was not updating, was greeted with a member of staff and she said "is that all you have ordered" in a downward tone and told app not working and to come back in 10 mins (I appreciated that they were busy). Went back 10 mins later, order was stone cold and smothered in barbecue sauce 🤮, this is not on the menu. Meal ruined - never again.

We booked a table for two in advance. We had tickets to a show later in the evening, so we gave ourselves 1.5 hours for a main and a drink to ensure we had the time we needed. We expected the place to be very busy, so we looked up the menu the morning of our visit to ensure we were prepared and could be quick. We arrived in time and were quickly seated. The restaurant itself was very cramped so much so that I could hear the chewing of the gentleman at the table next to me. We were advised that they were short staffed and there were only two people in front-of house. We were then handed an A4 sheet of paper, also advising that they were understaffed and advising that they were operating on a limited menu. Also, they were changing wine suppliers. Therefore, they had a very limited supply. Also, their draft machine was broken, so any beer would be in bottles. None of this information was conveyed to us on the day of the booking or on the website so we could make alternative plans or be prepared. The menu was less than a quarter of what was showing on the website, and none of the items we had planned on ordering were now being served, so that was a waste of time. The members of staff who seated us never offered to take our drink order, so we were unsure if it was table service or order at the bar. After 15 minutes or waiting, we asked a passing staff member if we should order at the bar. She again told us they were short staffed and someone would be with us soon. (We didn't complain or act rudely. We actually wanted to make sure WE weren't making a mistake) After then seeing another couple arrive, be seated, have their drink AND food order taken, we were concerned about being finished in time for our show. One of our party had to approach the bar and ask if we could order as we had a finite amount of time. We were then allowed to order our 2 pepsis, cheese pizza and chicken, and chips. We received our drink orders very quickly after we ordered... then another staff member arrived with the same drinks order as it seemed that it had not been communicated which of the two staff members were fulfilling drink orders. We received our food 50 minutes after arriving. The fried chicken and sweet potato fries were delicious and great sized portion. The undercooked margarita pizza that cost approx £14 was reminiscent of most supermarket fridge pizzas. The whole time we were waiting on our meals, the tables on either side of us were trying to find someone to ask for the bill. After one table decided to give in and approach the bar to pay so they could leave, we decided to grab a passing staff member (a different one) and asked if we could have the bill when our food arrived. She responded by saying, "Oh please don't dine and dash! We've been short staffed" still unsure if this was a joke or a very real issue they had been having that night. When the bill arrived, the other table that had been trying to pay for about 15 minutes and was already eating when we arrived was able to request the bill. At this point, we only had 10 minutes before our show, so we just walked up to the bar and asked to pay as we could not afford to wait. We were once again advised that they were short staffed.

Been to Monterey Jacks many times. Food is always amazing and hot. Portions are huge and full of flavour. Burgers and amazing and the chicken and Mac is a great dish, saw a lot of people order that when I was in also. Great place to go before a show too, but booking is a must to guarantee a table. Staff are amazing, friendly and reliable and do absolutely anything for you. Would 100% recommend!

I had a very frustrating experience with this restaurant. Their Facebook page said they were closed for done in, but open for collection. I ordered and my money was taken, but when we arrived to collect the food it was completely closed and no one was answering the phone. We'd provided a number and email with the order but it took me messaging them on Facebook before they got in touch with us to say their chef was ill and they would refund us the food. The person on the phone was very apologetic that we'd travelled some distance for collection and promised he'd send a £20 voucher as compensation - this seemed reasonable and stuff happens so I accepted that. However, despite following up with the restaurant no voucher has ever been sent to me, this was clearly just said to fob me off. We did get our money for the food refunded but I'm pretty unimpressed by the customer service and the fact that they continued taking order that they couldn't fulfill.

If I could score this place zero stars I would. Service was a joke. No beer either on draft or bottles and we then waited over 40 minutes for our food at which point no drinks had arrived. We then left. The staff had no clue what they were doing. This place needs shut down!!

Really rude service because we hadn't booked and turned two families away despite the website saying they didn't take bookings but then seated a couple as we were leaving. Guy on the bar looked stressed and grumpy. So disappointed and spoiled a nice day at Braemar.

Very bad food, worst service, a real nightmare

Not as good as Glasgow. Bit tight for wheelchair access. Was not able to order salad which disrupted one of our meal choices. Child menu is great for small eaters. Found benches to be too high for comfort even after removing foam cushion, music was loud (with swearing) which meant some of our group struggled to hear each other / waitress

Flies went into my wine, so many of them. Was waiting for my main food for ages and food prices are ripped off. However staffs who service foods are lovely and can tell they are working hard.

Burgers are an absolute treat no matter which one you order and the service is really nice too. No issues with the place only good things !!!

I’ve been here a couple of times and it has always been a pleasant experience but not this time. I ordered a Korean BBQ and Kimchi chicken bagel. I don’t know why restaurants insist on using chicken strips when serving a sandwich, it’s futile and nonsensical. Anyways, the bagel came through smothered in sauce, chicken and lettuce. First bite and I could tell that something is wrong with this place. That’s when I realised I paid 20 quid for a chicken bagel that was just “okay”. I even told the guy who served me, and he said “at least I’m glad it was okay”. It’s been 10 minutes since I left and now I’m writing this review, thinking about my life choices.

We went there (group of 5) on Saturday afternoon, and there was one person who served food,made and served drinks. 5* for waitress (Pat) very welcoming and friendly. The place was busy,but she managed very well,we didn't wait long for our orders. Food and cocktails were delicious.
