Can’t recommend the boozy brunch enough! Fraser was an absolutely amazing host. Very polite and attentive! He ensured drinks were flowing!

So I came in today with a group and would like to say the service I received today from all the staff the dirty looks and the attitude toward a group of young girls is absolutely disgusting. we came for my friends 18th and we had the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant, came in for food booked a reservation no email to say was declined had a code and a confirmation so we made the travel through the manager on duty on this day - 26.04.25- told us that she had declined it with such an attitude that made us uncomfortable and we felt unwelcoming, she was so disrespectful and lost out on customers as we will never be back as I was told that to eat my dinner standing up as they would not give me a seat to eat my dinner. to expect anyone to do that is poor. We left after 20 minutes of being in as no drink orders or food orders had been taken, I work in customer service in hospitality and never would I treat customers with such disrespect and make them feel so small. don’t know if the manager gets off on that or what but belittling 18 year olds isn’t cool or big of the manager, as a company I think yous should really consider this in the future as making customers feel unwelcome and feel like they are a bother creates such an environment in the restaurant as much as the food looks amazing I will never be back due to the service being so bad.

Wrong menu on window . When asked for that menu we were advised it was not on. Bar person then sneered behind my husbands back. 4 members of staff laughing at bar. Terrible customer service from start to finish. We left complaining.

I had a great time tonight at Slug and Lettuce! The young girl there, (I think her name was Alyssa?) was really polite and attentive. She's great with people and is a credit to the establishment! I hope her good work gets recognition! Will be going back there soon!

Helpful staff got me a table though the restaurant was busy. I had a delicious 8 oz steak, chips and peas and a soft drink. My first time in it, but it won't be my last. I was only in because the nearby Wetherspoons was choc a block.😁👍

We mixed up our booking location and Lucy was genuinely the most helpful and loveliest person, taking our details to try sort it out for us and getting us a new table. She was so attentive, fun and helpful, from taking pictures of us to getting us shots and cocktails. The best fun with her while we've been in Edinburgh 🫶🏽 go to the Slug & Lettuce because of Lucy, food and drinks are a plus.

Attended slug and lettuce for a boozy brunch yesterday, our server was Fraser and he couldn’t have been more helpful if he tried! Great bubbly guy who spoke away to as all everytime he came over to the table! Definitely slug and lettuce for a boozy brunch, was worth the money 🫶

Get the impression it's cocktails that the clientele go for. We booked for lunch before the matinee at the Playhouse. No scampi (a popular dish anywhere) but was offered a caesar salad, which isn't even on the menu. First time I've had caesar salad with edamame beans. The chicken was dry and tasteless. My friend's fish and chips was okay, she said, but felt the food had been sitting on the hot plate for a while, even although she got her meal 5 minutes after mine. Had to ask for plates to be taken away and then had to ask again for desserts. Overpriced for poor food and huge mark up on wine. Won't return.

When we arrived our booked table was assigned to high chairs and tables that my mum would have struggled with. The host quickly found us another table even though it was Valentine's Day and they were busy. The food was really good and came out in a timely manner. We also ordered 3 mojitos that did not taste anything like a mojito and when we said these were quickly changed. Cannot fault the customer service at this venue , thank you for the great experience

Popped in for a pre-theatre dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The server was brilliant, very friendly, helpful & had a laugh with us (sorry I didn’t catch his name!). The place was clean, tables were clean, service was quick and the food arrived quickly too. Only slight issue is that there was a pre-theatre only menu so I couldn’t order my first choice however the food I did order was very tasty! Overall it was a great experience and we would go back.

Wouldn’t even give this 1 star! Turned up to a pre paid booking as part of a hen package. We were told we couldn’t eat there as the hen party was too drunk and they had a call from the other slug and lettuce. I didn’t feel a hen party that had a few drinks was unacceptable?? I was trying to explain to the gentleman at front of house we all came from separate places. We had come straight from the apartments to dinner. He told me to shhh! He said we could sit but the rest of the hen party wouldn’t be allowed in and we couldnt use our prepaid meals as the whole party wasn’t eating there so it was either pay for food again or he would refund us. There was nothing written so we wanted his word we would be refunded. There was multiple of hen and stag groups in the restaurant that night. I’m unsure why we were greeted so unpleasantly. I won’t be revisiting. It was very unorganised, unpleasant and he wasn’t even sure what we had or hadn’t paid. And I wasn’t allowed to show him on my phone or explain this. I hope the hen package site don’t book this restaurant for others, I would hate for that to ruin a hen weekend.

Went for afternoon tea as part of group celebrating a couple of birthdays. The birthday girls loved the cocktail tree and our waitress, Hannah, was very patient, helpful and accommodating.

Navada was such a good bartender, she recomended me fantastic cocktails to match my taste perference. The cocktails were fantastic. Lewis was also super chatty and i enjoyed my experience here at slug and lettuce so much! Definetly will be coming back!

Wiki, Sam, Drew, and Nevada are awesome. I had such a rubbish day and popped into the Omni Slug before getting my bus, and their hospitality turned my day around. They put a smile back on my face. I will definitely be back:)

Tables but no table service except via an app that didnt work. Lots of draft beers that should be available but for unexplained reason couldnt be ordered. On the positive, comfortable seats, but music too loud.

Didn't have food, service was good, however no draught beer. Which is not good , and overheard another customer, saying the same thing happened last weekend too. That's basic bar service, so hopefully the gas issue was the actual issue, and got resolved quickly.

Met host Louis as we arrived dressed as Batman & Maleficent and we were recognised from last year too, Louis loved our costumes so much he arranged for us to get pictures taken in the photo booth had a drink and never had food but from what we seen the dishes looked wonderful so will try next time but must say all staff were wonderful and really friendly this is a great way that helps customers return and we ceraltainly will be returning

This was dire. Sticky tables. No toilet roll. Slow service. My scampi and chips was *fine*.. Fine being when your partner says they are fine and you know they are not. My friends fish and chips was more batter than fish and he felt pretty ill after. It was like the fish was battered and fried x3. A fairly dismal experience. Especially when you are paying around £15 for fish n chips. Would not return. Edinburgh is on the world map for food. What was I thinking 🤔

We have booked the table for the friday, however when we arroved very, very rude witer told us that we do not have the reservation although we have showed him the confirmation. He had no problem with lying into our faces. There was something free tables, we even took something pictures of them. The waiter like to loose money for the company. Their lost, Boom facility wins. They do not want to have customers.

Waited a while in queue discuss seating with my small dog in my arms, got to front of queue and was told it would not be appropriate to have a dog inside because the staff believed it was too busy, even though more than half of the place was empty. Unclear if it was a preconception with me and my wife, or with my dog, but the place is marketed as dog friendly. Will not be returning and will suggest they remove "pet friendly" signs because they are certainly not!
